Disney Brings You a Global Avengers Initiative Around the World at Disney Parks! Concept art for the Avengers Initiative from all around the globe has us truly excited for the future of the Marvel Universe at Disney Parks. Beginning in March 2019 at Hong Kong Disney, Ant-Man and Wasp will begin their epic fight against Arnim Zola and his army of evil Hydra Swarm-bots in the all-new interactive attraction, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! The battle as already begun as guests have started battling the forces of Hydra in the Iron Man Experience that opened back in January 2017.

Just announced today that both Disney California Adventure park and Disneyland Paris new experiences from Doctor Strange and Spider-Man. Guests will also experience the latest in Pym Technology with Ant-Man and Wasp and be wowed as Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Captain America and more leap into action on a moment’s notice.

This Morning Scott Drake, Creative Executive of Marvel Global Portfolio had this to say about the World Wide take over of the Avengers at Disney parks. “There was an idea. To bring together a group of remarkable people, to see if they could become something more. It was called the Avengers Initiative. That original idea has now evolved into a brand-new global Avengers Initiative. One that brings us—the next generation of remarkable people—together. To find our power and become something more. To see if we can work alongside the Avengers so we may all become stronger together. The Stark Expo in Hong Kong was to be a first step: A world exposition whose theme of ‘A Better Tomorrow Today,’ was meant to inspire and motivate through technological innovation. However, shortly after it opened, the Expo was attacked by the forces of Hydra. When even more powerful forces threatened the entire planet, the Avengers realized that the Earth needs more heroes. So today, to better defend the planet, the Avengers are setting up new Headquarters and technology sharing exchanges around the globe to empower and inspire all potential recruits willing to step up and become heroes. In California and Paris, Tony Stark is retrofitting two of his father’s Stark Industries sites into new hubs for training and innovation. Through partnerships with S.H.I.E.L.D., Pym Technologies, Masters of the Mystic Arts and the new Worldwide Engineering Brigade, The Avengers and their allies will forge new global campuses to champion the next generation of heroes. Disney Artist Greg McCullough Showcase Now at Disney Springs

Disney Artist Greg McCullough Showcase is now at Disney Springs. Featured in its own building beside Goofy’s Candy Company, this display will be available through January 1st. Stop by this amazing gallery, view the art on display and take the opportunity to meet Greg McCullough.

The building itself can be seen from the Marketplace stage area across from the World of Disney Store. The sign for this incredible Showcase is very prominent and is sure to catch your eye immediately.

Upon entering the gallery, be sure to look around at all of the Art on display. All of the pieces are available for purchase and prices range to meet most budgets. Learn a little bit about Greg’s artistic style and find your favorite painting.

Once you choose a favorite Disney Artist Greg McCullough Showcase piece, ask the Artist if he is available for a photo. Strike up a conversation with him as he is very easy to talk to. Greg enjoys sharing information about the inspiration for some of his work. Be sure to ask him about his amazing “Disney Remnants Paintings!”

The Showcase gallery will be available through January 1, 2019. Greg McCullough will then be available for the following two months at Epcot’s Festival of the Arts.

Sister Act 3 Coming to Disney+

According to Variety, Sister Act 3 is continuing to be developed for the new Disney streaming service, Disney+.

While no details are being released, the film does have writers, Regina Hicks and Karin Gist. The two have written together several times before, including Drumline and Camp Rock.

Whoopi Goldberg starred in the first Sister Act of 1992 as Deloris, a Las Vegas lounge singer who witnesses a murder committed by her criminal boyfriend. She’s placed in a convent in witness protection and becomes Sister Mary Clarence. Maggie Smith, Kathy Najimy, Wendy Makkena, Harvey Keitel, and Bill Nunn also starred. The film was followed up with both a sequel and a Broadway musical.

A rep for Goldberg tells Entertainment Weekly, “It is our understanding that this is not a continuation and Whoopi is not involved,”

She also told Good Morning Brittain, “We’ve been all over Disney begging and they’ve decided that they’re going to go in a different direction with Sister Act. So it won’t be Sister Act 3, it’ll be a brand-new rendition of Sister Act. And I guess I’ll walk through a scene and that’s how they’ll say I was part of it.”

Sister Act 3 joins a number of previously announced projects for Disney+, including two live-action Star Wars series and several surrounding Avengers characters. The live-action Lady and the Tramp and a female-centric Santa movie starring Anna Kendrick are also on the list.

Look for the new Disney+ service late next year.

Spider-Man: Far From Home Trailer Premieres at CCXP in Brazil

This has been an incredible week for Marvel Fans!

With the release of the Avengers: Endgame Trailer, that hulk-smashed trailer viewing records, and the release of a second Captain Marvel Trailer it was a HUGE surprise to Marvel Fans when those who attended the Spider-Man: Far From Home panel at CCXP (Comic Con Experience), got to witness a never before seen trailer for the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel, Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Tom Holland, Jacob Batalon, along with an unexpected guest, Jake Gyllenhaal, hosted a panel for Spider-Man: Far From Home at CCXP in Sao Paul, Brazil. This was Gyllenhaal’s first official appearance that confirms his role as Mysterio in the film set to be released July 5, 2019.

With how well known Marvel is at keeping their secrets, well… secret, the trailer did not acknowledge any content from either Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers: Endgame. So no worries about potential spoilers. However the end of the trailer does show Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio, costume and all! The Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer premiered in Brazil and it is unknown when the trailer will hit the U.S. It is rumored by those who attended that Tom Holland did say the trailer will not be available anywhere else for months. NNNNOOOOOO!!!!!

This would be a great time for Tom Holland to have one of his infamous “accidental” Marvel leaks… WELL… We’re waiting?!?!?!

Weekend News Round Up December 9th, 2018! This week has been another busy news week for Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars! Follow us through as I review this week in news.

1). Avengers Endgame Trailer Breaks Viewing Records! The Avengers Endgame trailer was released yesterday and has all of the internet buzzing with speculation on what the future is for our beloved super squad. Will Tony be lost forever in space? Will Ant-Man be part of a huge rescue? Is it possible that those who have been snapped into oblivion can be returned to us? (I really hope so)

2). Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride coming to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge will have pods with just a few passengers but they will be able to handle approximately 1800 people per hour. Update! Blooloop is reporting that Bill Zanetti an Orlando, Florida university teacher who studies theme park design, operations and management expects 200,000 people to line up to be the first inside the new themed land. This could mean the longest wait times in the history of Disney Parks!

3). The Walt Disney Company has raised the bar for Chief Executive, Bob Iger, in order to win his bonus. Disney has announced Monday, after shareholder pushback, that more rigorous benchmarks are required for Iger. Iger was slated to collect a $100 million equity grant in 2021, a grant that has been previously criticized by the Disney Company’s shareholder advisory groups. However, in the new agreement, Iger has to show that his company’s total shareholder return outperforms 65^th percentile of companies in the S&P 500 index. In the original agreement granted to Iger, The Walt Disney Company had to outperform in the 50^th percentile. Which is a significant increase.

4). Satu’li Canteen at Animal Kingdom has added some huge allergy options to their menu! This is huge news for those who struggle to find dietary options at the parks! Check out the full menu here for details: HERE

5). Chris Evans may not be done with his role as Captain America after all… or is he? Back in October Chris said his goodbye to the shield in an emotional tweet and all of us died a little inside. Chris has brought the role to life and after eight years as Cap we can’t imagine another replacing him! We have word that he may actually not be done with the franchise… Find out more here.

6). Get excited folks! Another live-action film is coming our way! This time the feature film will be the classic story of 101 Dalmatians. Disney Addicts first saw the popular classic in 1961 as an animated classic. The animated film was then made into a live-action film in 1996 starring Glenn Close as the evil villain, Cruella De Vil. In this live-action, produced by John Hughes, De Vil was featured as the head of a fashion house. However, in this new live-action film remake Emma Stone will be playing the evil infamous villain with a more 1980’s punk vibe.

7). We are bringing the magic of Kingdom Hearts to DisneySprings at Walt Disney World Resort from December 14~January 31! The Kingdom Hearts pop-up experience will feature a playable demo, a special Keyblade exhibit, and artwork from the game! Stay tuned for more info!

8). Meet Amira, the newest giraffe calf at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! The new darling giraffe calf born October 1st at Animal Kingdom now has a name! Amira, which means “princess” in Swahili was introduced to us last month and we are told she is doing great with mom Kenya! We can’t wait to meet her on the Savanna. Just a couple months old and Amira is already standing at more than five-feet tall. Since her birth, Amira has been bonding and nursing with mom Kenya in a backstage habitat.

9). Liberty Tree Tavern Has Changed Up Their Lunch Menu! Whoa, that is a lot of brown bread… We sat down at Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom today and noticed a little change of their lunch menu! Check it out here

10). Calling all Coffee Lovers – 2nd Starbucks Returns to Downtown Disney Getting your coffee fix is going to be easier soon! Slated to reopen on December 10th, the location had closed in June. The space the coffee shop occupied was scheduled to become a new hotel. However, issues plague the project and it was scrapped. Java junkies rejoice knowing they can find their favorite cup of Joe in two locations at Downtown Disney in Anaheim.

Brie Larson Greets Marvel Fans at CCXP in Brazil! Brie Larson, along with Aline Diniz, the CCXP Panel Host and Translator, posed with thousands of Marvel Fans who attended her Captain Marvel panel during CCXP (Comic Con Experience) in Sao Paul, Brazil. Look at that crowd!

We are all just as excited as these fans are for the release of Captain Marvel coming to theaters March 8, 2019. In the meantime, fans from all over the world have been attending comic conventions in hope of gaining a sneak peak and new information for our favorite films, television shows, games, and all things comics! Guests who attended CCXP in Brazil this weekend got the chance to see Brie Larson who plays Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel in the upcoming addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain Marvel.

Larson taking a video of the Marvel panel audience. Behind the lens, fans were cheering and making “heart” shaped signs with their hands in a very warm welcome. No wonder she is smiling so big!

Larson answered spoiler-free questions about her upcoming film, Captain Marvel. Brie enjoyed her time getting to inform the audience about her experiences so far as the famed superhero, who we will hopefully be seeing again in the highly anticipated Avengers: Endgame, set to release April 26, 2019, merely a month and a half after the release of Captain Marvel.

As is fairly standard at most modern comic conventions, cosplayers of all shapes and sizes showcased their talent and skill with their incredible costumes. Take a look at these amazing Marvel Character Cosplays, including the Mad Titan from Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos. Great job to these die hard Marvel fans on their cosplays, we are truly impressed!

With the growing amount of MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) films it is common to see Marvel panels with several actors and actresses attending the panel, or even a director or producer joining the star of the film, but not this time. Brie Larson was very attentive while answering questions and did a fantastic job at hosting a panel solo. She handled everything like a pro and has been exuding confidence in both her role as Captain Marvel and during interviews for the film.

We can’t wait to see her kick some skrull booty in Captain Marvel, set to release on March 8, 2019.

Dick Clark Productions and ABC have announced multiplatinum artist Post Malone will perform from a stop on his current tour in Brooklyn, New York, as part of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2019. Airing just after the countdown to the new year, Malone will be the first television performance of 2019. It will also mark Malone’s first time performing on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. America’s biggest celebration of the year will take place on Monday, December 31, beginning at 8:00 p.m. EST on ABC

Ranked as the No. 1 music special of last year, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2019 marks the 47^th anniversary of America’s largest celebration of the year and will include 5 ½ hours of memorable performances and reports on New Year’s celebrations from around the globe. Ryan Seacrest will host the prime-time festivities and lead the traditional countdown to midnight from Times Square in New York City, as he has for the last 13 years, with live onsite reporting from actress and comedian Jenny McCarthy. Monorail Doors Malfunction at Walt Disney World

Monorail Doors Malfunction at Walt Disney World. A guest video on YouTube shows the doors malfunctioning on the Yellow Monorail at Walt Disney World on Saturday. You can see guest laughing and joking around about being stuck while the doors do not open. While is seems like a laughable moment at the time, apparently, no Cast Members responded or helped even after using the emergency phone.

Check out the caption to the video here: “On Saturday, December 8, 2018, at approximately 9:20pm, the doors of the last car of Monorail Yellow failed to open at both the Ticket & Transportation Center, Polynesian Village Resort, and Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Guests banged on windows, but no Cast Members responded. Moreover, one guest tried to use the emergency phone, but no Cast Member answered. At Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, a child screamed out the window, asking for help, and a Cast Member finally responded.”

Guest Injured on Tube Ride at Typhoon Lagoon

Guest injured on tube ride at Typhoon Lagoon. WFTV9 Orlando is reporting that a guest was injured on Miss Adventure Falls around 1pm on Saturday. The 44 year old man’s arm was stuck in a conveyor belt on the ride. Orange County Sheriffs Office reported the guest’s injuries were not life-threatening.

“A guest’s arm was injured while on the Miss Adventure Falls water attraction at Typhoon Lagoon. The attraction is currently closed while we review the incident. Right now, our care and concern is with the guest and his family,” a Disney spokeswoman said in a statement.
