The magical Iridescent color trend is sweeping across the Disney Parks and much to our approval beautiful treats are popping up including this new Minnie Hat Iridescent Cupcake.

Hop onboard the monorail because this is one treat you do not want to miss! Hidden away under a thick layer of vanilla buttercream icing, you’ll find a confetti cupcake oozing with strawberry filling. A chocolate Minnie Mouse hat shines atop the cupcake in all it’s iridescent glory and a sprinkling of crispy pearls add the perfect touch of understated “glam”.

This Minnie hat topped iridescent cupcake is now available at the Contempo Cafe at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. In addition to this trendy treat, you’ll find an array of baked goods, sandwiches, flatbreads, salads, and much more. But keep your eyes open in other locations because this is not the only location you’ll find the new color trend popping up.

Prince Charming Regal Carrousel refurbishment

Prince Charming Regal Carrousel refurbishment is underway. This Magic Kingdom park attraction at The Walt Disney World Resort closed for refurbishment yesterday and will remain closed until Monday, July 30th.

As of Tuesday, July 31st, guest will once again be able to climb aboard an ornate carousel horse and gallop through a whirling backdrop of color and sound. And on that whimsical journey they can live the classic Disney animated film Cinderella through a series of 18 illustriously hand-painted vignettes on the inner rounding board above the horses.

And it’s probably a good thing this attraction gets a little TLC. Did you know that this Carrousel was built in 1917 and was originally named the Liberty Carrousel and made it’s home at Belle Isle Park in Detroit. 50 years later it was rediscovered at Olympic Park in New Jersey and acquired by Disney Imagineers. They performed an extensive renovation and introduced it to Magic Kingdom park in 1971! Over 45 years later and it is still a guest favorite!

Built in 1917, the Liberty Carrousel—as it was originally named—first called Belle Isle Park in Detroit home. Measuring 60 feet in diameter, the carousel was constructed by the Philadelphia Toboggan Co. and is one of the largest of its kind in the world.

Disney Cruise Line®is holding auditions for their repertory at sea! Including ALADDIN A MUSICAL SPECTACULAR. Featuring Alan Menken’s song “To be Free” performed by Jasmine, and can only be seen on Disney Cruise Line. We hire a repertory company of 24 performers to portray roles in each of our musical theatre style productions. Toronto rehearsal for up to two months with 6 months onboard performance contract. Contracts include: competitive pay plus bonus, room and board, guest sailing privileges, guest dining, and additional benefits package.

They are auditioning for the roles of Aladdin, the Genie, Iago, the Beast, Cogsworth, Lefou, Lumiere, Jasmine, Belle, Garderobe, Mrs. Potts, Plumette and Rafiki. Auditions will be held at The Underground Dance Center in Toronto, Canada at 10am on Monday 23rd.

FreeForm Begins Production on “Motherland” Pilot

Freeform has announced that principal photography has begun on the “Motherland” (working title) pilot, a one-hour drama from executive producers Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Kevin Messick. The pilot, created by Eliot Laurence (“Claws”), has started in Vancouver, Canada. Set in an alternate America where witches ended their persecution 300 years ago by cutting a deal with the U.S. government to fight for their country, “Motherland” (working title) follows three young women from basic training in combat magic into early deployment at Fort Salem. In this world, the traditional roles of gender and power are flipped with the more dominant women on the front lines fighting looming terrorist threats that are familiar to our world, but with supernatural tactics and weapons.

Taylor Hickson (“Deadpool”) portrays Raelle, a reluctant recruit with major authority issues, whose mother recently died in the line of duty. Kelcey Mawema (“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”) portrays Abigail, an unquestionably alpha, smart, driven and courageous witch who hails from the upper echelons of military witch society and is excited to be joining the ranks of the witches’ army. Jessica Sutton (“The Kissing Booth”) portrays Tally, a kind, strong-willed and curious witch who enlisted despite her mother’s passionate disapproval. Amalia Holm (“Alena”) rounds out the young witch recruits, playing Scylla, a playful yet dark and mischievous recruit who is not what she appears to be.

Also joining the ranks is Demetria McKinney (“Tyler Perry’s House of Payne”) who plays Anacostia, an articulate, tough, wryly humorous staff sergeant whose chief concern is keeping the young recruits alive through basic training.

“Motherland” (working title) is written and created by Eliot Laurence and produced by Freeform Studios and Gary Sanchez Productions. Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Kevin Messick serve as executive producers for Gary Sanchez Productions. The pilot is directed by Steven A. Adelson (“Riverdale”, “Siren”).

A Walt Disney World vacation is more than just rides and shows! Did you know that many of the resorts offer great activities that you can enjoy too? Today we are going to take a look at one of my favorites. Every Wednesday night, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter hosts a “Painting on de Bayou” session. Everyone attending will design their very own take-home masterpiece in this instructor-led paint class. This month they will be creating a “Happily Ever After” inspired work of art (see above).

You can find your fellow artists-in-training at the Scat Cat’s Club on Wednesdays from 6 pm – 10 pm. There is a $35.00 fee ($37.28 including tax) to participate which is payable at the time of making the reservation. There is an up to 2 day cancellation period to receive a full refund.

You can find them at Fountain View right beside Spaceship Earth.

These shiny treats will go perfectly with the new Iridescent Minnie ears and spirit jerseys that have been spotted at the parks! Those can be find in a few different merchandise locations all over the Walt Disney World Resort. Since you’ll be at Epcot getting a crisped rice iridescent treat, you can make a stop at Mouse Gear for the ears and spirit jersey. Mouse Gear is located in Future World East beside the Electric Umbrella.

Electroland Returns to Disneyland Paris for the Third Edition in 2019

Paris, July 4th, 2018: It’s official! Disneyland Paris has announced that following the success of this year’s edition, Electroland will return to the resort in 2019. Held over two nights (June 29th and 30th), this year’s edition welcomed over 16,000 music lovers. Bigger and better than ever, it featured eight world-renowned DJs, extended park hours, breathtaking night shows, exciting rides and surprises galore.

On Friday, June 29th, four top DJs took to the stage in Walt Disney Studios Park to spin classic mixes and new hits alike: Belgium’s Henri PFR, the French phenomenon Klingande and the legendary Bob Sinclar (Love Generation and World, Hold On). Crowds danced the night away while amazing special effects were projected on the Hollywood Tower Hotel attraction. The evening closed out with the German superstar Robin Schulz (Sugar and OK) and a surprise visit from two of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Star-Lord and Gamora.

For the first time ever Electroland continued into a second night, starting with the British saxophonist Lovely Laura and her DJ husband Ben Santiago. They were followed by Switzerland’s Mosimann, Holland’s Afrojack and finally superstar duo Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike.
Fans of The Avengers were even treated to an unexpected appearance on stage from Loki and his brother Thor.

“Electroland is a unique experience for music lovers and Disneyland Paris fans alike. It’s an opportunity to enjoy a world-class music festival in a one-of-a-kind setting. Electroland is part of a growing list of upcoming special events like the runDisney weekend, Disney Loves Jazz Festival and Rendez-vous Gourmand that attract both new and repeat guest. These events give them the opportunity to enjoy their favorite resort in a brand-new way,” stated Gustavo Branger, Vice-President of Disney Business Solutions & Special Events, Disneyland Paris.

2019 will see a new edition of Electroland at Disneyland Paris with yet more music, attractions, projections, and fireworks.

More good news for the littles! Those that aren’t quite tall enough to ride Alien Swirling Saucers, will be able to get a complimentary return pass which allows them to return and ride (works like a Fastpass) when they are tall enough. It’s similar to the Slinky Dog Dash return pass, just have a Cast Member measure your child to see that they don’t reach the required height requirement (32 magical inches), and they will receive a complimentary return pass that allows them to come back and ride when they are tall enough.

Freeform Begins Production on Josh Thomas’ ‘Everything’s Gonna Be Okay’ Pilot

Today, Freeform officially begins production on the pilot “Everything’s Gonna Be Okay” in Los Angeles. Written by Josh Thomas, the creator of the critically acclaimed, heartwarming dramedy-series “Please Like Me,” the half-hour comedy pilot introduces Nicholas (played by Thomas), a neurotic 25-year-old who suddenly has to grapple with the loss of his father while figuring out how to be a guardian to his two teenage half-sisters.

Joining Thomas as series regulars are newcomers Kayla Cromer (“South of Hell”) who will portray Nicholas’ 17-year old half-sister Matilda, a witty, wide-eyed musician who is on the autism spectrum; Maeve Press (“Theresa Is a Mother”) will portray 14-year-old comedic oddball Genevieve, who is the youngest of the siblings and the most dramatic; and Adam Faison (“Liberty Crossing”) rounds out the cast portraying Alex, Nicholas’ love interest who finds himself in the middle of family drama.

Thomas created the concept, wrote and stars in the pilot with David Martin, Jon Thoday, and Richard Allen-Turner serving as executive producers for Avalon Television. Stephanie Swedlove and Kevin Whyte also serve as executive producers. Produced by Avalon Television and Freeform Studios, it will be distributed internationally by Avalon Distribution. The pilot is directed by Rebecca Thomas (“Stranger Things”).

Freeform’s growing slate of original scripted comedies includes smash hit “grown-ish,” executive produced by Kenya Barris and starring Yara Shahidi; critically-acclaimed breakout series “The Bold Type”; buddy comedy “Alone Together” from The Lonely Island; and fan favorite “Young & Hungry.”
