Celebrate 65 Years of Disneyland With New Experiences in the New Year

It’s a new year and that means it’s time to celebrate at the Happiest Place on Earth! The Disneyland Resort is pulling out all the stops this year to ensure guests have nothing short than a magical time! As we enter 2020, Disneyland is revealing new attractions, parades, and so much more!

Embark on an out of this world adventure through Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on the planet of Batuu. This year, your journey will be taken to the limit with the opening of the new attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. This new interactive attraction will take guests on a mission to defend the Resistance, but be wary, for you might encounter the First Order. This new adventure will be open to the public starting January 17, 2020.

In February of the new year, guests of Disneyland park with get to enjoy a brand new original parade! “Magic Happens” will feature a new musical score, beautiful floats, and familiar friends! This daytime fun experience will make its grand debut on February 28, 2020.

Get into the action with your favorite superheros at Disney California Adventure Park with the all new Avengers Campus! This highly anticipated new land will take guests in on an adventure with some of their favorite Avengers. This land will feature an all new technologically advanced attraction featuring Spider-Man himself. Guests will also get to try some super sized eats at the new Pym Test Kitchen. We can’t wait for the Avengers Campus to open this summer!

Carl Weathers from “The Mandalorian” thanks fans on Twitter for their enjoyment and appreciation of the hit show!

Carl Weathers plays Greef Karga – an agent of the Bounty Hunter’s Guild in the Disney+ show “The Mandalorian”. In an effort to avoid spoilers, that’s all I will tell you about his character now!

The tweet reads “Thank you amazing fans for the wonderful words tweeted regarding The Mandalorian. Your enjoyment and appreciation for the work done by the creators, directors, cast and crew fills us all with pride. Until fall of 2020, “Do the magic hand thing, baby”! #BePeace”

The beloved show released on November 12th when Disney+ first debuted and was an instant cult-favorite. Baby Yoda has taken over the internet and fans are begging for more Mando content. In fact, I think we are willing to pay in Beskar for a 3rd, 4th, and 5th season.

It was announced that “The Mandalorian” will be coming back for a second season in the Fall 2020.

Disney Plus Has Officially Starting to Add Fox’s Marvel to Roster

When Disney’s newest streaming service, Disney Plus, arrived in November of 2019, it had over 10 million initial subscribers. Since, the streaming service continues to gain more subscribers due to the addition and promise of more content. Fans will be excited to know that the popular Marvel Cinematic Universe will be expanded on Disney Plus thanks to Fox.

The Marvel Studios had a pretty big year in 2018, with the celebration of their 10 year anniversary. In 2019, they had an even bigger year with the epic release of Avengers: Endgame. Another big event was Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox and the Marvel films that came with the studio.

However, with the release of Disney Plus, Marvel fans noticed that the Fox films were not there. Now, for Disney Plus subscribers in Canada, they can start streaming all of (except for Dark Phoenix) Fox’s X-Men feature films! Although, this is only for Disney+ Canada, the service is highly likely to start bringing over these beloved features to the United States.

Currently, US Disney+ now has its first 20th Century Fox and Marvel film, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Seeing as adding a sequel to the service before its predecessor can be a bit odd, we figured there is probably more to the story here. Turns out, it is probably just a result of streaming rights. This means that fans won’t have to wait to long to binge the whole Marvel catalog. For newer fans of the franchise, it will be interesting to see our Captain America, played by Chris Evans, as the Fantastic Four’s Human Torch!

All New ‘Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway’ Poster Debuts

Walt Disney World kicked off 2020 in the best way possible when announcing the debut of the “Wish Upon a Coin,” poster art for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. This piece, pictured below, is the beginning of the ‘Countdown Series’ artwork collection for the opening of Mickey and Minnie’s new ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The “Wish Upon a Coin” poster just debuted last night during the New Year’s Eve Live Stream at Walt Disney World. The artwork, based off the Mickey Mouse cartoon short, “Wish Upon a Coin,” features Mickey and Minnie sharing a kiss with a gold coin while perched on a well. Meanwhile, someone is lurking beneath them. Click here to watch the short and find out what happens!

More artwork will be added to the collection as we draw nearer to the March 4, 2020 opening day of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Hollywood Studios. Thankfully, Disneyland will be receiving this fun attraction in the future! Unfortunately, though, they have to wait until 2022 for it.

To hold yourself over until March (or until 2022 for Disneyland), you can stream all of Mickey and Minnie’s wonderful adventures on Disney+ in the ‘Mickey Mouse Shorts.’ And keep your eyes peeled for the next creative piece of artwork in the Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway ‘Countdown Series!’

It’s never been a better time to be a Disney fan. From the addition of Disney+ to the acquisition of Star War and Marvel, from new additions to Disney Parks to new films and characters we love, there is no end of ways to get your Disney fix these days. If you are lucky enough to be planning a trip to Walt Disney World you have even more to be excited about this year. Here are 20 reasons to visit in 2020:

Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios is an award-winning immersive experience, complete with rides, shopping, and dining. A Star Wars fan’s dream!
Disney After Hours events at Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. Tickets are already on sale for event nights in 2020, which will allow guests to enjoy the parks after closing time, taking advantage of shorter lines for rides and characters, as well as select snacks.
Epcot International Festival of the Arts is back for another year from January 17th through February 24th. The Festival highlights an appreciation of the arts through live demonstrations, artist meets, galleries, and the very popular Disney on Broadway concert series, featuring stars from original Broadway shows such as Beauty and the Beast.
Epcot is releasing new films at several of its attractions. ”Awesome Planet” will be playing in the Land Pavilion, ”Canada Far and Wide in Circle Vision 360” is the new film in the Canada Pavilion, and ”The Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along” will play in the France Pavilion. All three films will debut on January 17th.
Villains After Hours will return for 24 select nights at the Magic Kingdom starting February 7th. This year’s events will feature a new parade with characters like Gaston, Oogie Boogie, and Cruella de Vil, among others.
New restaurants are opening all over the parks, one of the first being Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue at Epcot. It will be located in the America Pavilion, and the food will be casual barbecue such as beef brisket sandwiches, dry-rub pork ribs, power green salads, and much more.
Another exciting restaurant opening is that of Space 220, dining set in a space station! An elevator will take you 220 miles above earth to enjoy a spectacular view as you eat.
Ample Hills will finally be available somewhere other than the Disney Boardwalk by opening a second location at Disney Springs. If you love over-the-top ice cream flavors (and who doesn’t?) be sure and stop by to try the Ooey Gooey Butter Cake flavor.
City Works Eatery & Pourhouse will also be joining the dining options at Disney Springs. A restaurant and sports bar with close to 90 beers on tap and plenty of flat screens to watch your favorite game, they’ll also serve plenty of tasty options to dine on.
Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival returns March 4th to June 1st. Stunning topiaries, outdoor kitchens with delectable bites, and the Garden Rocks Concert Series will all be back with new additions and variations.
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway opens at Hollywood Studios. Since the closing of The Great Movie Ride, park-goers have been craning their necks to check on the progress of its replacement and finally the opening is not far off! Step inside the cartoon on March 4th.
Another addition to Hollywood Studios this March will be the Mickey Shorts Theatre, where guests can enjoy original cartoons and photo opportunities.
Cirque du Soleil returns to Disney Springs with a new show ”Drawn to Life.” Tickets are already on sale for this show about an animator’s drawings come-to-life.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure opens at Epcot in the Summer of 2020. Journey through Gusteau’s kitchen during your time at the France Pavilion on this all-new ride.
Another addition to the France Pavilion will be La Crêperie de Paris, with both table and quick-service options from chef Jérôme Bocuse and his Brittany region-inspired menu.
The ever-popular Epcot International Food and Wine Festival returns in the fall with favorites from years past and new options to choose from. The 25th anniversary is sure to bring exciting celebrity chefs, and great music at the Eat to the Beat concert series.
Holiday parties will be back and better than ever with Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. If you haven’t been to one yet, check the dates (to be announced) for 2020 and make it happen!
”Harmonious” at Epcot will become the biggest nighttime spectacular at any Disney Park in 2020. With classic Disney music, huge floating set pieces, pyrotechnics, moving fountains, LED panels, lights, and lasers, this show is set to amaze.
Roundup Rodeo BBQ will open at Hollywood Studios in Toy Story Land. This immersive restaurant will be a table-service option that kids and adults alike will love, as it offers great food alongside games, toys, and playsets.
Animal Kingdom will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day and the 25th anniversary of the Disney Conservation Fund, as well as the 10th birthday of gorilla Lilly and the 1st birthday of gorilla Grace in the spring.

New Which Disney Character Are You Instagram Game Out Now

We have found a new game that is taking Instagram by storm, the new Which Disney Character are you game is incredibly fun and addicting!

The new game is an Instagram filter that appears above your head and will scroll through a list of characters until it selects one that it thinks fits you. Let us warn you now, it is highly addicting and fun to see which characters you will get. Then you can see which each of your family members or friends get! Do they match who you think they should be?

I tried it and got two Disney Princesses; Mulan and Belle! The game knows me well!

There are two ways to get the filter. The first way, locate a friend’s story that has used the Disney character generator filter. Next, click the title of the filter under the person’s handle in the top left corner. A gray bar will appear on the bottom of your phone with the option to “try it” in the left corner. Select “try it” and the castle filter button should appear. To create a video, hold down the castle button and the wheel will automatically start spinning. Repeat the process until you are satisfied. Once you have your video, save the video and share it with the world!

If you can’t find a friend with the filter in their story, you can simply head to the creator of the filters profile, @arnopartissimo. Once there, swipe his grid of photos twice to the left and it will take you to his “filters” section. From here you will click the “Which Disney Character are You?” filter and hit “try it” in the bottom left corner.

The filter comes up with some pretty funny characters. Take a look at the character Actor/Comedian Josh Gad, the voice of Olaf, received as a character!

Minnie Mouse The Main Attraction New Collectible Series

Yoo hoo, it’s a new year, and that means a new collectible Monthly series from shopDisney and Disney Store! This year the Minnie Mouse The Main Attraction collectible series will debut, and of course it stars the main Disney Diva herself, Minnie. This new monthly Minnie collection will feature a new Disney Park attraction each month!

The first collection features Space Mountain, and will launch January 18th! The collection will be available at shopDisney.com, Disney store and select Disney Parks locations too. Just like the Wisdom collection last year, a new monthly Minnie collection will launch the third Saturday of every month. We will still see a plush, mug, and pin set for each assortment, but there are some fun new additions in the mix too. Minnie has always been a style icon, so it makes since that her collection would have stylish finds. Each collection will also feature a brand new pair of Minnie Mouse Ears, and a fashion backpack or fashion waist pack from Loungefly. Oh, I almost forgot there will be a monthly MagicBand too!

As we can see the first collection will be Space Mountain! Each collection if incredible detailed too. Even the skirt of Minnie’s dress is shaped like the iconic attraction.

The Mandalorian is certainly a smash hit for the new Disney+ streaming service. The first season finished last weekend and a second season is currently being produced for a Fall 2020 release. Even though it may be a while before we see new episodes, we do have new merchandise on the way.

A new wave of Funko Pops based on the show are coming out late February 2020. This new wave includes characters such as Greef Karga, The Armorer, and the heavy infantry Mandalorian solider. The largest of this new group is the Pop Deluxe of the Mandalorian bounty hunter riding a Blurrg. These Pop figures are fun for fans to showcase at home, college, or even at one’s work desk.

Most of these upcoming releases can be found at retailers that sell Pops, but the ones featured below are store exclusives. For instance, the Mandalorian using his flamethrower can only be found at Target, while Amazon is getting a Pop of the Mandalorian in a shiny chrome helmet.

Be on the lookout for these Pops when they release. There’s also Pops of The Child (Baby Yoda) landing in stores May 2020. Many Star Wars fans will be excited to add these to their collections!
