New Spaceship Earth Lighting Details Just Revealed

Spaceship Earth
Spaceship Earth

New Spaceship Earth lighting details have been released following the big news drop of everything coming in October for ‘The World’s Most Magical Celebration!’

Walt Disney Imagineer, Zach Riddley (@thezachriddley on Instagram), shared ALL of the exciting new details on Instagram:

“Yesterday we announced changes coming to the nighttime experience of Spaceship Earth as part of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration.” The dazzling, permanent new programmable lighting system will debut as part of Walt Disney World’s 50th Celebration and will continue to live on as a defining feature of EPCOT.

EPCOT is a park about the best of us – what is possible when we embrace the power of imagination and humanity’s ability to make impossible things reality when we work together. We are all connected. That is the theme and the expression at the heart of our work across EPCOT and at the heart of this stellar new visual experience coming soon to Spaceship Earth.

Spaceship Earth is a unique structure recognized around the world. To honor this idea, our Imagineers have created custom lighting features that literally emerge from her unique architecture. These features will shine across Spaceship Earth’s silver panels and “connect” with one another, resembling shimmering stars in a nighttime sky.

Spaceship Earth has maintained her classic multi-color lighting design for nearly 40 years – a legacy the team working on this project are keen to preserve. Her classic look will be maintained and accentuated through new colors and intensity in programmed expressions that extend into the new main entrance fountain and the entire World Celebration area that continues to take shape before our eyes.

We can’t wait to reveal more of the technical innovation and artistry going into this new experience and the team behind the scenes turning imagination into reality. Continue to follow along with me here for more details.”

Jessie and Buzz’s new looks debuted at Hong Kong Disneyland today!

According to fans their look is less scary and more toy-like and we would have to agree.

Here is photo of their original look.

Jessie and Buzz have joined Woody with new looks at Hong Kong Disneyland.

The makeover matches more what they look like in the popular Disney Pixar film series, Toy Story, and honestly I think they look much more vibrant and youthful.

This is the first costume change that the gang from Toy Story have overgone since they made their way into the Disney Parks in the mid-90s- so it was long overdue!

What do you think, do you like their new look? Let us know in the comment box below.

New Frozen & 101 Dalmatian Mugs Spotted at Disney Springs

101 Dalmatians and Frozen Mugs

Everybody has a Disney collection. It might be pins, purses, T-shirts, character signatures, or ear headbands, but if you’re a Disney fan, you’ve probably got a stash. I have mugs. From different Disney parks, of different Disney characters, some Starbucks ones, some travel mugs. It seems that Disney knows how much we love to be reminded of them with our morning cup of Joe. It also appears that I’m going to need a new shelving system because there are two new mugs at Disney Springs that I’m going to need.

New Frozen & 101 Dalmatian Mugs Spotted at Disney Springs

The new 101 Dalmatians mug is a nod to the original 1961 animated classic. Thunderbolt, the star of the puppies’ favorite television show, is featured on a mug that looks just like an old television set. Two dalmatian puppies form the handle. Whether you’re watching 101 Dalmatians or Thunderbolt or something totally un-canine, you’ll love drinking out of this nostalgic mug. Grab some Kanine Krunchies and enjoy!

Another new mug that I love is the Frozen-themed Marshmallow mug. The body of the vessel is that lovably unlovable snow monster from the original Frozen film. He seems relatively happy in this form. Maybe because he knows your warm beverage won’t cause any melting! Four snowgies are piled on top of each other to form the handle. It’s exactly the type of mug I’d picture Olaf drinking cocoa from!

Can I Have my Groceries Delivered to my Walt Disney World Resort? A Walt Disney World vacation can be pricey. Many families save up for years to be able to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth. Sally from ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ is Getting Her Own Sequel Story

Sally from 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' is Getting Her Own Sequel Story

Sally from ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ is Getting Her Own Sequel Story. Disney Publishing has hired author Shea Ernshaw (The Wicked Deep, Winterwood) to write a sequel story for The Nightmare Before Christmas from the perspective of Sally.

Ernshaw shared in a recent Q&A: “This new book, written from the point of view of Sally, takes place shortly after the movie ends. It’s the yet-to-be-told love story of Sally and Jack. But it’s also a coming-of-age story for Sally, as we see her navigate her new royal title as the Pumpkin Queen of Halloween Town. [It] will hopefully give fans a long-awaited second dose of Sally, Jack, and all the familiar residents of Halloween Town, while introducing a new cast of grim, strange characters, that I hope readers will love.”

“One of the core themes in The Nightmare Before Christmas was Jack’s struggle to understand his identity,” she says. “He had grown tired of being the Pumpkin King, and in his longing for something more, he plotted to take over Christmas. In this book, I really wanted to explore Sally’s identity, and better understand not only who she is now that she’s fallen in love with Jack and taken on the role of the Pumpkin Queen, but also understand how her past has affected her present desires, doubts, and dreams.”

She continued, “What does a ragdoll truly want out of life? What is she afraid of? And how much is she willing to risk to save those she loves? As we will learn in the book, she’s willing to risk quite a lot. Sally is one of the most compelling, and also richly-layered characters I’ve ever written, and it’s an honor to get to tell her story.”

The new book is expected to release sometime in July 2022. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for updates and all things Disney!

Many fans are hoping to see Neil appear in a cameo role for the series, but it seems like that is being kept underwraps for now. Originally the popular 90’s series, Doogie Howser, M.D. was featured on ABC from 1989-1993. Now the series is getting a reboot on Disney+, only this time with the working title “Doogie Kealoha, M.D.

Disney+ has announced Disney Channel Star Peyton Elizabeth Lee has been cast as Doogie Kealoha for the series. The reboot will follow Kealoha, a 16 year-old girl from Hawaii with mixed ethnicity (half Asian-half White). Kourtney Kang (How I Met Your Mother, Fresh Off the Boat) will be developing the series for 20th Century TV and Disney. Executive Producers for the reboot include Kourtney Kang, Jake Kasdan, and Melvin Mar. It is currently unknown when the Doogie Kealoha, M.D.series will premiere on Disney+.  No other casting choices or production details have been shared at the time of writing.
