Disney's & Nintendo Team Up for Clue..I mean "Guilty Party"

A first look at the trailer for Disney’s Guilty Party is below.

First up though is this article from Kotaku talking about Disney’s new video game Guilty Party which looks to be really fun and I bet is a blast at a party!

Wii owners who have suffered through countless me-too mini-game collections and lame party games often consider the term “family-friendly” the kiss of death. But Wideload Games (Stubbs the Zombie), the studio recently acquired by Disney Interactive, is aiming to erase that stigma with Disney’s Guilty Party. The new, er, family-friendly entry is a who-done-it mystery game that takes its inspiration from old school Scooby-Doo cartoons, boardgames like Clue, and even procedural crime dramas such as CSI.

Supporting up to four players, Guilty Party stars a family of super sleuths. The colorful cast of investigators, from the trench coat-sporting Columbo type to the Murder She Wrote-like grandma, are packed with personality.

Additionally, the game’s brimming with fun, witty, well-acted dialogue that, like a Pixar movie, can be enjoyed by young and old alike. Rounding out the cast is a long line of potential suspects, also delivering great voice work. From the snooty butler to the nervous doctor, there’s no shortage of suspicious peeps to point the finger at. Their in-game interactions are a hoot, but some nicely polished cutscenes also serve to sell the appealing style.

As an added bonus I have the trailer for Guilty Party.

Disneyland Paris worker commits suicide due to working conditions

An employee at Disneyland Paris committed suicide on Sunday. A trade union claims that the death was because of “humiliating” working conditions. The unnamed man, who was in his 30s, threw himself under a train in Esbly, near the Disneyland park just outside Paris.

Eurodisney confirms that the man had been employed in the theme park since 2004, where he worked in the kitchens.

He had recently returned to work after ten months of sick leave.

During his six years at Disneyland he made two complaints of workplace harassment, according to the Force Ouvrière trade union.

France has seen a spate of work-related suicides in recent months, including seven at telephone company France Télécom since the beginning of 2010.

ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex Grand Opening Articles & Videos

A lot of media coverage of the re-branding of the Wide World of Sports Complex. Here is the first article about the event from the Orlando Sentinel:

ESPN and Walt Disney World officially launched the re-branding of the Wide World of Sports complex on Thursday, kicking off the annual ESPN the Weekend festivities.

Signs, banners and a new welcome center greet guests now when they enter the ESPN Wide World of Sports, home to the Atlanta Braves and 300 events a year for youth, amateur and professional athletes ranging across 60 sports.

“Many people have asked us what was the big idea: ‘Why are you doing this?’ ” ESPN president George Bodenheimer said at a news conference announcing the re-branding. “When you [can] combine the brand names of Disney and ESPN, that’s just an opportunity too good to pass up. Today is the culmination of several years of work we’ve put into this beautiful facility.”

Disney Park Blog is there also covering the event:

Marquee pro athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB, LPGA and the Olympics turned out Thursday night for the official re-launch of ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort.

Olympic gold medal gymnast Shawn Johnson, NFL star Chad Ochocinco, LPGA legend Annika Sorenstam, NFL star Maurice Jones-Drew, Olympic softball gold medalist Jennie Finch and 2009s Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes were just a few of the athletes in attendance along with several popular ESPN personalities and Florida governor Charlie Crist. Instead of a Hollywood-style red carpet, the celebrities walked a turf carpet painted with yard lines to resemble a football field. The sports complex, already the leading multi-sports venue in the nation, was officially re-launched when New Orleans Saints’ Super Bowl champion kicker Garrett Hartley booted a football, held by Minnie Mouse, over the complex entrance gate amid waves of fireworks and confetti.

Afterwards, the celebrity athletes and ESPN talent attended a private reception at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Grill. Then some of them watched a special performance by the Harlem Globetrotters and even got into the act.

Disney’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’: Not so wonderful?

Disney's 'Alice in Wonderland': Not so wonderful?

Wow this is one of the first reviews I have seen on Disney’s Alice in Wonderland. The writer is stating that the film is just normal. That is it like countless of movies before it..Movies like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Etc. I dont know about you but those movies are my absolute favorite. I am not expecting some mind blowing story line, nor am I expecting some strange and unique plot twists. I want to see the sights, sounds and colors of a gifted director Tim Burton and how he envisions Wonderland.

I will let you read the article and decide for yourself. I have been waiting a long time to see this movie and we are planning on seeing it in IMAX 3D so either way I am stoked bad review or not.

Variety’s Todd McCarthy has just weighed in with an early review of the much anticipated Tim Burton take on “Alice in Wonderland” and, to hear McCarthy tell it, instead of being a match made in celluloid heaven, the film is a huge disappointment. McCarthy says the film has moments of humor and bedazzlement, but — and it’s a big but — the film “also becomes more ordinary as it goes along, building to a generic battle climax similar to any number of others in CGI-heavy movies of the past few years.”

McCarthy clearly believes that Burton never quite got a handle on the eccentric delights of the Lewis Carroll masterwork. As he puts it: “For all its clever design, beguiling creatures and witty actors, the picture feels far more conventional than it should: It’s a Disney film illustrated by Burton, rather than a Burton film that happens to be released by Disney.”

He goes into much more detail..click here to keep reading.

Disney Dream Features the Latest in Techno-Cruising

Great article from Disney Fans Insider talking about the newest Disney Cruise ship the Disney Dream. Scheduled to set sail in January of 2011 this ship will be the crown of the Disney Cruise Line.

When 2011 rolls around, there’ll be a brand-new star joining Disney Cruise Line – and this time it’s the ship herself. The Disney Dream, scheduled to make her maiden voyage January 26, 2011, is the third – and largest – addition to Disney’s fleet of luxury ocean liners that harkens back to the golden age of cruising while providing an unforgettable vacation for every member of the family.

Due to set sail from Florida’s Port Canaveral, the Dream is currently under construction in Papenburg, Germany. Disney Cruise Line’s Jason Lasecki talks about the Company’s decision to build overseas. “Meyer-Werft is a world-renowned shipyard with incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail … it’s the perfect match between their ship-building expertise and our brand.”

Initially the ship is built in 83 individual blocks which, when finished, are welded onto the ship’s structure in one of the world’s largest covered dry docks. When the ship’s ready, the building is flooded to float the ship onto the Ems River. “It’s truly amazing … the entire process takes almost 15 months,” Jason adds.

The 14-deck ship mixes early 20th century design with state-of-the-art technology and introduces all-new Guest experiences … while retaining the best features of her sister ships, the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder. Imagineer Joe Lanzisero, Senior Vice President Creative, discusses the technology used.

“The Disney Dream is the next generation of Disney cruise ships. Much of the thinking is really an extension of everything learned over the last 10 years, but there are several surprises. We’re introducing AquaDuck, the first on-board watercoaster ever designed. By incorporating elements from the Theme Park slides and Typhoon Lagoon’s Crush ‘n’ Gusher technology, we configured a clear acrylic tube that thrusts Guests out over the side of the ship (150 feet above the ocean’s surface). Some of the watercoaster features include traveling through the ship’s forward funnel, various uphill portions, and river rapids, which provide a spectacular ocean view. It’s a thrill ride that’s really on par with our Park attractions.”
