Disney Possibly Developing an R-Rated Animated Deadpool Series for Streaming. Since he acquisition of Fox by Disney, there have been a multitude of film and television projects that have been cancelled, delayed, or managed to maintain the green light throughout the transition. Now, it seems Disney is looking over the shelved projects at Fox and is preparing to dust off a few ideas!

One such project involves an animated series about the “Marc with a Mouth”, Marvel’s very own Deadpool! The original series idea came from Fox’s team at FX, who intended to have the series be Rated R. Surprisingly, it seems Disney is onboard with the rating for the animated show and wants Ryan Reynolds to maintain his role as Wade Wilson/Deadpool across the live-action and animated platforms.

It is currently unknown if Disney will keep the same creators for the project. Donald and Stephen Glover were set to write and produce the series, with Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory assisting in the series, (likely for character continuity and story building). Initial “creative differences” kept the project from moving forward, but it seems Disney is willing to revisit the idea for one of their streaming services.

Disney has yet to confirm the new series, but it is rumored the R-Rated Deadpool series will premiere exclusively on either Disney’s Hulu or Star streaming services (most likely Hulu). This is a developing story, so be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for updates and all things Disney and Marvel!

Is Disney's All-Star Music next for room refurbishment?

Currently, Disney’s All-Star Music is still closed at Walt Disney World. When the theme parks closed back in 2020 All-Star Music never reopened.

It is not even listed on the Disney World website as one of the hotels set to open in the coming months.

With no opening date listed we do have some interesting news to share. Presently there are 4 permits for General Construction listed for All Star Music. Does this mean that it might be joining All Star Movies to get a room refurbishment?

Here are the 4 permits for General Construction that were filed at the end of March

Back in March we shared a look inside the all new Refurbished Rooms at All Star Movies. You can check them out here or check out the video below:

Is Disney's All-Star Music next for room refurbishment?

While the 4 permits list General Construction there is always a chance that could mean a Room Refurbishment. With the hotel closed now would be a perfect time to update the rooms to the new style featured at many of the other Value Resorts.

What we do know is that Disney’s Polynesian & Contemporary Resort are receiving Room Updates, there is even construction going on at Disney’s Beach Club Resort.

Right now we are waiting on official word from Disney so for now I am hopeful that Disney will use this downtime to update the rooms at the All Star Music.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the new room updates that we have seen at places like Pop Century and All Star Movies? Let us know in the comment box below.

Teen saves toddler from drowning while on Spring Break in Orlando

Teen saves toddler from drowning while on Spring Break in Orlando

Thirteen-year-old Kaydence Henslee from New Mexico was on Spring Break to Disney World with her family when she saw a toddler floating face down in the deep end of a local Orlando Pool Hotel.

“I was scared and nervous and afraid, but my instincts kicked in.”

Three-year-old Haven Williams from Missouri was unconscious in the deep end of the hotel pool when Kaydence stepped into action.

Haven’s mother, Ashley Williams, said she stepped away from the pool for just a couple of minutes. “I just remember seeing another woman run across and yell into the bar area for someone to call 911 because a baby had just drowned,” Ashley said. “I was like, ‘oh my gosh.’ I didn’t think it was my baby.”

Kaydence pulled the little girl out of the pool while a heroic bystander performed CPR until Haven could be transported to the hospital.

Haven did not fully recover until 5 a.m. the next morning. “Even the doctors are saying that whoever got her out of the water did it at a perfect time because if she would have been under the water a little longer, it would have been a different outcome,” according to the mom.

The families swapped information after the incident so they could stay in touch. Over Easter Kaydence even sent Haven a friendship necklace ahead of Haven’s fourth birthday.

Kaydence is wanting to get her CPR Certification so she can be prepared in the future if it ever happens again.

Haven’s mom said in an interview her daughter would not be here if it wasn’t for Kaydence.

“I knew it was the right thing to do to help someone out,” according to Kaydence.

While the name of the local Orlando Hotel is unknown it should be noted that Disney has trained lifeguards at almost all of their major pools who are trained to handle incidents like this.

Kaydence is a true hero for stepping up and saving little Haven from downing! We can tell she has bright future ahead of her.

Permit Filed for More Work on Hall of Presidents

Disney’s Hall of Presidents

The Hall of Presidents in the Magic Kingdom is closed for a touch up. The closure back in January meant the addition of President Joe Biden to the attraction. This time, the reasons for refurbishment remain unclear.

A permit was filed with Orange County to “Provide labor, material and/or electrical for construction.” The property was listed as 1430 Magic Kingdom Drive, which is the Hall of Presidents’ address. The Buena Vista Construction Company will be doing the work. They a typically do since they are affiliated with Walt Disney World Resort. The permit will expire in June 2021, although we hope that the project will not take that long!

Permit Filed for More Work on Hall of Presidents

The Hall of Presidents is a classic Walt Disney World attraction that has been the subject of some controversy as of late. Some park goers have petitioned Walt Disney World to remove President Donald Trump, now that he is no longer in office. Others prefer to have the experience continue in the same way it always has. For those who have never stepped inside the Hall, the attraction centers around the history of the American presidency. It has all 45 Presidents, both past and present, included in the presentation. Grover Cleveland was both the 22nd and 24th president. He served two non-consecutive terms, so there indeed have only been 45 presidents, not 46. Audio-Animatronic figures come to life thanks to Disney Imagineers, bringing American history to generations of young Disney lovers.

Five things you need to know before you arrive at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa

If you’re heading to Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, here are five things you need to know before your arrival!

  1. Check-in online before you arrive to the hotel to save time, while also promoting physical distancing (you can even check-in online up to five days in advance!). A link to use the online check-in service will be emailed to you before your visit. If you don’t have a Disney account, you’ll need to create one at Disneyland.com to get started.
  2. Review the new Health & Safety Acknowledgement prior to your arrival. This is located on the Hotels “Know Before You Go” webpage.
  3. Once you arrive, if you have used the online check-in service and have agreed to receive text messages, you can receive a text message when your room is ready. Just stop by the Front Desk to pick up your key. For easy and contactless payments throughout your stay, you can pay for purchases at Disney-operated locations throughout the Resort using your hotel room key with a valid credit card on file. Other forms of cashless payment include debit cards, credit cards, Disney Gift Cards and tap-to-pay cards. Please check locations for the types of payment accepted.
  4. Download the Disneyland app, which will play a more important role than ever during your stay. It’s strongly encouraged to plan ahead and utilize mobile ordering for food and beverage purchases from select locations, as well as to check park hours, view maps and other important resort updates. Be sure to download ahead of time, and have your notification and location services turned on your phone.
  5. The morning of check-out, there is no need to visit the Front Desk, unless you receive a message or if you have a question. You will be automatically checked out for your convenience.

Related – Theme Park Hours for Disneyland Reopening have been released

Just a reminder! If you are planning to visit a theme park during your stay, you will need a valid theme park ticket and a park reservation for the same park on the same date. Theme park reservations need to be made separately, and a Disney account is required. At this time, only California residents in party sizes no larger than 3 households may visit the theme parks, per state guidance. Here’s a tip: if you plan to visit the theme parks, make your theme park reservation first before booking your hotel room, as a resort hotel room reservation does not guarantee theme park access.

Is a new Disney Community coming to Lake Nona

Is a new Disney Community coming to Lake Nona

We may see another Disney community being developed in the near future! Disney and developer Tavistock Development are reportedly in talks to build a residential and commercial community in Lake Nona in southeast Orlando. The Orlando Business Journal is saying how sources tell them Tavistock may soon be Disney’s developer for the future mixed-use development.

But why build a mixed-use community? Lake Nona is in a fitting area for Orlando due to its convenient location. It’s near an airport and other businesses. Of course, it could be an ideal spot for Disney to relocate Walt Disney Company positions from California to Florida.

Is a new Disney Community coming to Lake Nona

It would be remarkable if Disney works with Tavistock to build new residential homes in the Orlando area.

A big factor in moving in is determining what kind of lifestyle you wish to have for everyday life. You can enjoy more than just the theme parks in Orlando. There’s the warm weather, swimming pools, lakes for boating or fishing, and festive arts to name a few options. You’re also close to Cocoa Beach and can travel anywhere within the state of Florida in less than a few hours.

The Orlando area is also big on community, too. You’ll find many welcoming communities for people looking to move to Central Florida. A great thing about the area is that you’ll meet new Disney friends! It’s great to be able to enjoy the special events available at Disney Resorts when you dine there, plus you have so many other entertainment options on property.
