The Speedway is currently slated to close just after the first of the year on January 2, 2019. Work to adjust the track will take approximately 4 1/2 months. The attraction is expected to reopen on May 17, 2019.

Jon Favreau Reveals New Details of His Live-Action Star Wars Series

Jon Favreau Reveals New Details of His Live-Action Star Wars Series

Just before the start of this weekend’s New York ComicCon, director/producer Jon Favreau gave a tease of his upcoming live-action Star Wars series, The MandalorianOn his Instagram, Favreau revealed a little more detail about the basis of the show.

He posted, “The Mandalorian: After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”

What does all this mean?  Not much to the casual viewer, but for fans, there is a lot to dissect.  He gives us a timeline with the post.  The Mandalorian occurs between the end of Return of the Jedi and the beginning of The Force Awakens.  Of course, this means that, even though Mandalorians are featured, we likely won’t see Jango Fett or Boba Fett.  But who is this “lone gunfighter” we’re going to meet?  And what does a character like this do in the far reaches of the galaxy?

With so many new Star Wars projects coming down the pipe, how will this one set itself apart?  This series does have the distinction of being live-action.  There are other animated series in the Star Wars universe, but there is not a show like this.  And Favreau has his hands in a lot of the Marvel universe, with great success.  He seems to know how to make fans happy.  Here’s hoping he will continue this trend.

Sadly, Captain America is Finally Hanging Up His Shield

Sadly, Captain America is Finally Hanging Up His Shield

After nearly a decade of bringing Captain America to life on the big screen Chris Evans tweets out a heart breaking response to the wrapping up of Avengers 4: “Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful.”

Sadly, Captain America is Finally Hanging Up His Shield

In 2011, Evans played Captain America in Captain America: The First Avenger as his first debut in the Marvel Universe.  In 2012 he reprises his role in The Avengers and began our love affair with the Avenger team and their on screen chemistry. The film set forth a whole franchise that spun off blockbusters like Thor, Black Panther, and AntMan.

Sadly, Captain America is Finally Hanging Up His Shield

While we are happy Avengers 4 is wrapped, the thought of life with out Cap in it is almost too much! Someone get the tissues ready… Avengers 4 is going to be a heart string tugger! The final(maybe?) Avengers movie is set to his the big screen in 2019.

Peter Pan's Flight Getting a Fresh Look In Early 2019

Peter Pan’s Flight Getting a Fresh Look In Early 2019. The classic attraction, Pete Pan’s Flight will be closed for a refresh beginning January 7, 2019, through February 1.  Thankfully, you never grow up dreams won’t be on hold for long, February 2, 2019, marks the official reopening date!

Peter Pan's Flight Getting a Fresh Look In Early 2019

My first experience with Peter Pan’s Flight was back in 1986 on a family trip. Stepping into the NeverLand world was amazing and mesmerizing. Who doesn’t love the idea of being a carefree forever?  Refreshes in the parks are executed beautifully. While keeping attractions current and up to date, designers manage to retain the elements and feel we fell in love with first.  The previous refresh, in 2015 brought a reimagined nursery and Peter Pan’s shadow. What new magic do the Disney Imagineers have planned for this beloved ride? We will just have to wait and see!

What other attractions are getting spiffed up in the near future? Let’s take a quick look…

Peter Pan's Flight Getting a Fresh Look In Early 2019

Tomorrow Land Speedway another classic from my childhood! Refresh is scheduled January 2, 2019, through May 17, 2019.

If you feel the need for speed during this closure, head over to the Test Trac in Epcot for an adrenalin rush! Please note, this ride is  geared toward a mature park guest, here is the “fine print”

  • Height Req. 54″ to drive alone, 32″ to drive with another guest present who is at least 54″ tall.
  • Age Children under age 7 must be accompanied by person age 14+

Wonderful news as the temperatures start to climb, Typhoon Lagoon is a great place to cool off.

SEAWORLD ORLANDO DEBUTS NEW PASS PROGRAM,

KICKS OFF 2019 “BEST YEAR EVER”

More events, more thrills, more rides, and more value than ever before

ORLANDO, Fla. (Oct. 4, 2018) – SeaWorld and Aquatica Orlando today kicked off its “Best Year Ever” promoting a bustle of activity taking place at both parks over the next few months and throughout 2019. They also unveiled a new Annual Pass program with more benefits and new lower prices.

The grand opening of SeaWorld’s record-breaking thrill ride Infinity Falls served as the start of a year that will be filled with an unprecedented number of new and expanded experiences at the parks.

Responding to guest demand for more value and choices, SeaWorld created the new Annual Pass program with more flexibility for guests to pick the Pass with the benefits they want most, such as unlimited admission, parking, free guest tickets, in-park discounts and more.  The SeaWorld Annual Pass does not require a down payment and for a limited time, introductory prices start as low as $9.99 per month for Florida residents. Combination passes with Aquatica, and Busch Gardens and Adventure Island in Tampa, provide even more savings.

“We have dropped the price of an Annual Pass by as much as 30 percent,” said SeaWorld Orlando President Mark Pauls, “We have made it easier and more affordable for our guests to experience all of the excitement of SeaWorld and Aquatica this year.”

The Annual Passes, now divided into four tiers, allow guests to choose the Pass with the benefits they most desire:

“Today is the beginning of an incredible and action-packed year ahead,” Pauls said, “We are bringing our guests more events, more rides, more thrills, and more value than ever before, and of course, the new Annual Pass is the best way to take advantage of it all.”

Among the reasons to visit, SeaWorld introduced new rides coming to the Sesame Street at SeaWorld Orlando attraction, a new Aquatica waterslide, and a packed event line-up.  The park announced that details about each of the newly unveiled attractions will be shared in the coming months.
