Have you made your holiday time plans yet? If not, it’s time to start planning your visit to Walt Disney World! There is so much happening at the Resort this holiday season that you won’t want to miss and I am here with all the details!

Flurry of Fun at Disney’s Hollywood Studios 

That’s right! Flurry of Fun at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be back for another year from November 8 to January 6.


Back again is Sunset Season Greetings featuring your favorite Disney characters and stories projected on to the Tower of Terror. Guests are invited to catch continuous showings nightly on Sunset Boulevard

The popular holiday-themed fireworks show, Jingle Bells, Jingle Bam!  is also back to wow audiences in 2018. The show features the adventure of your favorite Disney characters helping to get Santa back to the North Pole. Also, check out the Jingle Bells, Jingle Bam! Dessert Party featuring festive snacks, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. Guests for the dessert party are treated to VIP seating for the fireworks and will be able to meet and greet with a special character. Jingle Bells, Jingle Bam! blasts into the sky starting November 8 and runs until January 6.

Guests visiting Hollywood Studios this holiday season will also be treated to magical holiday decor in the Echo Lake area.  Make sure to check out Dinosaur Gerie!

Olaf himself will be making a a cameo in “For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration!” It’s not to be missed!

When you need to take a break from the action and recharge your batteries, head over to Hollywood & Vine for a delicious seasonal meal at Minnie’s Holiday Dine. Featuring Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy in their seasonal best, it’s one of the most magical meals this holiday season. Minnie’s Holiday Dine begins November 9 and lasts until January 6.

Santa Claus is back again to meet his fans at Once Upon a Time from November 10 to December 24. Once he flies off on Christmas Eve, Santa Goofy will fill his spot from December 25 to January 6.

NEW for this year – Guests are invited to Play Big in the new Toy Story Land! For Flurry of Fun, the land will also receive a little makeover featuring some special holiday touches!

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and the Magic Kingdom

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party kicks off on November 8 and is offered on select nights through December 21. A separate ticket is required to attend. Cookies and snow on Main Street U.S.A. are just a few of the highlights of the party!

The Once Upon a Time Christmas Party Parade features gingerbread men, toy soldiers, your favorite Disney Characters and Santa Claus too. If you can’t make it to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, the parade will run daily from December 22 to December 31!

Holidays Wishes Fireworks is exclusive to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and is not to be missed! Two Fireworks Dessert Parties are also offered during the party for guests to enjoy some festive holiday foods and fun.

Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration features Mickey and Minnie on the stage in front of Cinderella Castle partying with their Disney friends and dance to classic and contemporary Christmas tunes.

Cinderella Castle will once again be transformed into a Frozen wonderland during a “Frozen Holiday Wish” by Anna and Elsa nightly. This show is offered nightly from November 9 to December 31.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Guests will be able to enjoy decorations around the park and several attractions will be transformed from day to night for extra magic. These attractions include the Tree of Life, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Kali River Rapids, and Expedition Everest.

UP! A Great Bird Adventure will be transformed so guests can experience Diwali, the Indian Festival of Lights. The excitement begins on November 8 and lasts until January 1.

Epcot

The International Festival of the Holidays is back again at Epcot beginning on November 18 and running until December 30.

The Candlelight Processional is one of the highlights of holiday time at Walt Disney World and is simply amazing. Join a celebrity guest narrator, 15 piece orchestra, and choir as you hear the story of the first Christmas. The first Candlelight Processional is on Thanksgiving Day, November 22 and is held nightly until December 30 at the American Adventure Pavilion. Guests are invited to enjoy holiday-themed treats around the world at the Holiday Kitchens and take part in Chip & Dale’s Christmas Tree Adventure Scavenger Hunt.

Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to celebrate the holiday season at the American Adventure Pavilion.

To end the night, catch IllumiNations featuring a special holiday-time grand finale.

Disney Springs 

Disney Springs is the place to knock out all of your holiday shopping! While there, enjoy the Christmas Tree Trail, Santa visits at the Santa Chalet, Stitch’s Holiday Gift Hunt, and of course a delicious meal at one of many of their fabulous restaurants.

New Year’s Eve

If you plan on celebrating New Year’s Eve at Walt Disney World, the Contemporary is the place to be with these two celebration options:

  • Disney Countdown to Midnight: Includes dining, drinks. live music, and much more. Guests will be treated to a visit from Mickey and Minnie and then will have prime viewing for the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom with a champagne toast. The event will be held from 8 pm to 12:15 am in the Fantasia Ballroom. Guests can also add on a VIP experience to their Disney Countdown to Midnight with the Disney Ink & Paint Club. Inspired by the early days of Disney Animation, this add-on event offers enhanced food and libation selections in a lounge setting.
  • PIXAR Party – A New Year’s Eve Celebration : This event is just for families looking to ring in the New Year together. It features a Pixar-inspired buffet dinner, Disney and Pixar characters, DJ, activities for children, and an exclusive view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

Holiday Tours

Two VIP tours will be offered for guests looking to go behind the scenes on what it takes to get Walt Disney World ready for the holidays:

Beyond the Parks 

Every resort will be decked out for the holidays! Carolers will perform holiday favorites at select resorts on select nights. Stop by the Grand Floridan for their iconic life size gingerbread house and take in the sweet smells and pick up a treat to enjoy. Or view some of the other gingerbread creations at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. There’s something for everyone to enjoy!
