It’s Not Your Imagination, Figment Mouse Ears Are Now At Epcot

Earlier we took a first look at the Festival of the Arts Merchandise coming out this Friday. One of the most exciting items was the Figment Mouse Ears! It looks like we won’t have to wait though, because they are already out at Gateway Gifts in Epcot!

These are a shimmery light purple pair of ears, with the lovable likeness of Figment on the front. His cute orange horns spring up from the back, while his wings spread across the ears. You almost can’t tell there are mouse ears on this band, until you flip it around to see the back. The headband retails for $27.99 like most other Minnie ears do.

If you prefer hats to headbands, there is also a fun Figment cap available! This purple cap says “Figment” across the front, and is flanked by orange wings on the side.

You can find the Figment Mouse Ears, cap, and other fun accessories now at Gateway Gifts in Epcot! Will you be journeying into imagination with these new mouse ears?

Ghirardelli Soda Fountain Discontinues Free Samples

Say it ain’t so! Ghirardelli Chocolate has ceased distribution of its free samples at all of its stores, including the Soda Fountain at Disney Springs Marketplace.

Visitors at various locations throughout the country have been reporting the lack of samples being handed out over the past few weeks. Now that change has been implemented at the store in Disney Springs as well.

Normally visitors were greeted by a server offering an array of free sample squares to anyone who passed by. Now, guests are allowed to request a sample of something at the counter. However, there are no longer samples being handed out at the door.

Many people have a vacation tradition of stopping in for their sample. Those of us who need our chocolate fix will have to order one of the many ice-cream delights on the menu or purchase a box of their fine west-coast chocolates.

While inside the World Showcase at Epcot, strolling from country to country and indulging in the authentic food and beverage offerings is my favorite thing to do! There’s no better way to walk around the World Showcase in Epcot, than with a drink in hand. A brand new drink is now available in the Norway Pavilion. Along the path to visiting the Norway Pavilion, sits the Scandinavian Draft Beer Cart serving the delicious new Troll Kreme Slush drink! The drink arrives just in time for The Festival of the Arts at Epcot.

This delectable frozen beverage is $17.00 and comes in the souvenir cup as seen below. It is blended with Cranberry and Vanilla, covered with Bacardi Dragon Berry Rum, and topped with whipped cream. Yummy!

John Boyega Hints at Star Wars: Episode IX Details

Star Wars: Episode IX is set to hit theaters this December, but fans are still waiting to see a single official image from the film. Star John Boyega, who plays Finn in the series, took to Instagram with a teaser. Boyega hinted that the upcoming film will take things to another level.

The actor posted an image of his dirty hands seemingly with drops of blood on them with the caption, “The whole team pushed themselves today to achieve something visually crazy! I’ve has many moments of shock on set but not like today and I can’t wait until you know why.”

Boyega’s comments left fans to speculate about his promise of something quite spectacular given how revolutionary the previous Star Wars movies have been in the current series.

As the conclusion to the entire Skywalker Saga, this film is sure to provide insane special effects sequences that can only be topped by the emotional magnitude of seeing the end to a 40-year old era.

Star Wars: Episode IX will soar into theaters December 2019.

Augustus the Hippo Celebrates 1st Birthday at Animal Kingdom

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you! Baby Augustus is one year old! Augustus’ 1st birthday was celebrated in style, as the keepers made a sweet popsicle cake featuring some of his favorite hearty food items his hippo family to share.

Lindsay Wick, Augustus primary caretaker since his birth said this about the bundle of joys growth so far: “Augustus has had a momentous first year in which he has grown from about 80 pounds to more than 800 pounds – that is 10 times his birth weight! He is right on track for a young hippo who could grow up to 3,000 pounds.”

“Guests continue to enjoy watching Augustus play and explore his habitat on the Kilimanjaro Safaris attraction where he can often be found splashing around in the river with his mom Tuma and the rest of his hippo family. The Nile hippopotamus is a vulnerable species with a declining population. What is important about Augustus’ birth is that his parents were chosen to breed through the Species Survival Plan (SSP), which is overseen by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. His birth was a huge success for our team of keepers at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and an important contribution to the worldwide conservation and understanding of these amazing creatures.”-Lindsay Wick Animal Kingdom Nutrition Team

If there is one thing all Disney Parks Fans know, it’s that Disney provides some of the most unique and delicious food offerings one can find while on a dream vacation or just a casual visit for those lucky folks that get to enjoy Disney any time.

With the 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Arts only 2 days away we got you a sneak peek at some of the highly anticipated featured menu items that will be available for a limited time during the Festival of the Arts. Feast your eyes on these delicious and unique food offerings… We would apologize if these images make your mouth water, but we really are not sorry at all.

I don’t know about you, but I am the kind of person that likes to start with my favorite dessert!

This flavor filled treat is a White Chocolate and Purple Sweet Potato Mousse with Caramel, Chocolate Shard, Blueberry, and Coconut and Maple Meringue decorations. I can hear my taste buds singing! Not to mention the presentation is PERFECT.

Find this delightful dessert at Decadent Delights in Showcase Plaza.

Next up we have Smoked Salmon and Cream Gateau with Egg Yolk Cream, Paddlefish Cavier, and Micro Herbs. This item can be found at Painter’s Palate in the Odyssey Festival Showplace. Look a those layers! Swoon…

Who doesn’t like a little sparkle and spice now and again? Try this caliente Chocoflan at El Artista Hamriento in the Mexico Paviolion. The Chocoflan is made with Creamy Mexican Custard and Chocolate Sponge Cake topped with Cajeta and Hazelnuts.

The chocolate and the heat go better together than you think!

In Masterpiece Kitchen located in the Canada Pavilion you can find this creamy Wild Mushroom Risotto with Aged Parmesan, Truffle Shavings, and Zinfandel Reduction.

Food in a glass? Bonus points for presentation!

There is more to this than meets the eye! Beneath this perfectly golden brown crust is a savory beef surprise waiting to tickle your tongue. This Beef Wellington includes Mushroom Bordelaise, fennel Cream, and Roasted Baby Vegetables. Get yours at The Artist’s Table in The American Adventure.

Chocolate and Beer? What a pair for this pairing flight!

There are so many drinks! this one has a citrus twist.

For another savory option you can get the Pan-Seared Scallop with Chorizo, Roasted Red Pepper Coulis, and Parmesan Crisp. This scallop is available at The Artist’s Table in The American Adventure.

I always get excited when I see a blank canvas! Just think of the possibilities! Well this will be your chance to make your own art with the Pop Art Tart! IT’s a modern-designed Sugar Cookie with Strawberry Filling and you get to design your own Jackson Pollock styled work of art on this sweet treat!

This is the only kind of artists block you will want! You can create your masterpiece at the Showcase Plaza.

Back to my favorite food topic: Dessert! At Masterpiece Kitchen in the Canada Pavilion there is another treat we are dying to sink our teeth into. It’s the Vanilla, Rose Water and Pistachio Panna Cotta with a Chocolate Shard to accent the dish. It looks almost too good enough to eat…ALMOST.

Take a closer look at some of the previously mentioned food items, like the Risotto!

Here is the other side of the Salmon…

What’s better that one treat? Three! You can try this Gallery Bites: A Trio of d’Oeuvres. It has three separate samples including Traditional Deviled Egg with Candied Bacon, Chilled Shrimp with Cucumber Cream Cheese on a Crostini, and a Crispy Truffled Rissoto Ball with Truffle Aioli.

At Pop Eats! inside the Showcase Plaza there is a drink that Boba fans will love! It is a Blue Sky Black Cherry Boba Freeze! It is a non-alcoholic beverage that everyone in the family can try!

With this chilly drink you can try this spice filled treat!

At El Artista Hambriento you can try the Callo de Hacha en Salsa de Jengibre y Habanero. For those that do not speak spanish, it is a dish comprised of Two Seared Scallops with Ginger-Habanero Sauce atop Yucca Puree.

Guests who are of drinking age can cleanse their palate between food tastings with an array of adult beverages, including this Pinord La Dama Reserva Familiar Brut from Spain that can be found in the Canada Pavilion.

These Baby Manatees Slurping a Bottle at Sea World Gives All the Feels

Here is your sharable awwww moment of the day! A video posted to Instagram is giving us all warm fuzzies and we can’t stop watching. These sweet baby manatees slurping a bottle has all the feels. The manatees are part of the Sea World manatee rescue and rehabilitation facility, the at the Orlando theme park.

Sea World is known for the animal training they do, but just as important is their wildlife rehabilitation program. Nestled in the theme park is a five-acre working Rescue Center where multiple species are rehabilitated. The center caters to all types of marine animals and birds. Some of the most notable residents are the manatees and sea turtles.

The Sea World rescue team is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The team provides round the clock care for the animals who are ill, injured or orphaned. Sea World works with local, state, and federal agencies on the rescue efforts to ensure the best possible outcome. Once rescued, the team takes the animals to the rehabilitation facility to evaluate the unique needs and situations of each animal. The center then works toward a goal of returning the rescued wild animals to their natural habitats. Over 33,000 animals have been rescued so far.

If you would like to see the rehabilitation center in action, a portion of the center is open to Sea World guests. Additionally, for guests who would like to learn more a guided tour is available that takes guests through the entire facility.

New Mickey Mouse Monorail at Disneyland Resort!

The new Mickey Mouse monorail has been spotted at the Disneyland Resort, just in time for the new celebrations taking place! Guests will be able to party Mickey and Minnie during the new “Get Your Ears On-A Mickey and Minnie Celebration” as we celebrate 90 years of Magic!

Disney knows how to kick the part of right with a new monorail design! The new design has a real throw-back theme with the bold colors of yellows, reds, and blue. The monorail even features giant Mickey heads! There is no mistaking who this monorail is for! The Mickey heads feature a different facial expression that will keep you entertained as it slowly drives above your head. The other monorail features blue, white, and a little yellow with all of Mickey. I like the Mickey on the second train with his surprised look!

At Disneyland, guests have the option to board the train at two stations. On the new Mickey Mouse monorail design, guests can catch the monorail at the existing depots. Guests can board inside the Disneyland Park at the Tomorrowland stations above the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage and be dropped off at the Downtown Disney District depot, vice versa. The round trip lasts about 13-minutes along the 2.5 mile route.

Figment Scavenger Hunt at Disney’s Festival of the Arts

There is fun for everyone at Disney’s Festival of the Arts in Epcot! From January 18th to February 25th, guests can enjoy a wonderful trifecta of visual, culinary, and performing arts.

The Festival of the Arts is most definitely fun for adults – but Disney is also offering a great kid-centric activity too. Figment’s Brush with the Masters Scavenger Hunt is a fun way to learn about art and travel around all 11 countries in the World Showcase.

To get started, guests can purchase the map and stickers at Pin Central, Disney Traders, or World Traveler for $6.99 (AP/DVC discounts apply). Then, guests are invited to search for Figment hiding inside various famous works of art at each World Showcase Pavilion – all they have to do is look for the Figment-themed frame! Once Figment is found, place the corresponding sticker to the pavilion on the map. When the journey is complete and all 11 Figment art pieces are found, return the map to Disney Traders for a fun coloring book surprise!
