Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios opens in just 2 days! We got to take an early peek, and I  must say all of the Toy Story Land Merchandise is playfully adorable. You can find everything from whimsical apparel and accessories, to toys that look like they jumped straight out of the film!

There’s plenty of t-shirts and tanks to be found at Toy Story Land. You’ll find classic favorites like the Buzz costume shirt, as well as specialty Toy Story Land logo tops. There is also a classic blue baseball style cap featuring the logo too.

An Incredible Visit To Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia

On Monday, June 25, patients and their families enjoyed “Incredible” visitors at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The stars of Disney•Pixar’s Incredibles 2, Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl, paid a special visit to the hospital, where kids and families posed for pictures with the Supers, attended a private screening of the new film as part of the Disney Movie Moments program and also met Pixar animators, who created sketches of favorite Incredibles 2 characters for children in attendance. The young patients also received Disney toys, games, books and movies that were delivered in hospital care packages that are part of the Company’s Team of Heroes $100 million commitment to transform the children’s hospital experience over the next five years.

As you probably know by now, I am super-excited for Toy Story Land opening this week! In addition to getting ride Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers, I also can’t wait to try out all the food at Woody’s Lunch Box. Chip has just shared some of the first photos of the food from today’s media event and I can’t wait to share them with y’all!

Let’s first start with some of the breakfast food items:

First up is the Smoked Turkey Breakfast Sandwich. The sandwich consists of thick-sliced smoked turkey breast, melted Swiss Cheese, sautéed green pepper, onions and scrambled eggs on grilled sourdough bread.

The Breakfast Bowl takes a hearty portion of tater tots and smothers them in a smoked brisket country gravy, scrambled eggs, and a sprinkling of green onions.

For lunch and dinner at Woody’s Lunch Box, sink your teeth into the following:

The Monte Cristo consists of thick-sliced turkey breast, ham, raspberry marmalade, Dijon mustard and melted Swiss cheese on grilled custard soaked brioche.

The Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich takes melted Provolone and Cheddar Cheeses, tops them with a cheddar cream cheese spread and grills them together on garlic buttered grilled artisan French bread.

Disneyland Increases Price on PhotoPass Pictures

Beginning June 25, new pricing went into effect on individual PhotoPass pictures at Disneyland. Previously, the individual photos were $12.95 but they have since increased by $2.00 to $14.95. The price increase is for both digital download photos and prints.

To avoid this increased cost, you can purchase the MaxPass that gives you unlimited PhotoPass downloads along with “day of” FastPasses each Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.

PhotoPass pictures are the perfect way to capture all of the memories that you make while taking part in this summer’s Pixar Fest at Disneyland Resort or visiting the recently opened Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure!

Study Regarding Upgrading Disney Cruise Terminal 8 at Port Canaveral Moving Forward

Upgrading Disney Cruise Terminal

According to officials at Port Canaveral expect Disney Cruise Line to increase their presence at their seaport with the announced expansion from four to seven cruise ships. With that in mind, port commissioners have unanimously approved moving forward with a study regarding upgrading Disney Cruise Terminal 8 and the nearby Cruise Terminal 10. Cruise Terminal 10 is now used primarily by Norwegian Cruise Line.

The two largest ship in Disney’s fleet,  the 4,000-passenger Dream and Fantasy, are based in Port Canaveral year round. Recently one of Disney’s smaller ships, either the Magic or the Wonder, will base themselves at Port Canaveral during the winder season but move elsewhere for other seasons.

Disney now has plans to add ships in 2021, 2022 and 2023.  And Port Canaveral Chief Executive Officer John Murray told port commissioners that the port needs to be ready to host one of those new ships.

Disney’s “intention, longer-term, is to add another full-time vessel to the port, home-ported,” Murray told port commissioners. “So we’ll have more activity than Terminal 8 can handle.”

Being the closes port to the Walt Disney World Resort, Port Canaveral is a popular cruise port for the Walt Disney Travel Company. Land and Sea vacations are popular among Disney Cruise Line guests.

Terminal 8, which is the Disney Cruise Terminal is the smallest and oldest major terminal at Port Canaveral. It has not had a significant upgrade since 1998. They are adding Terminal 10 to the study Disney is likely that in the future Disney will regularly have two ships in port on the same day, necessitating the need for two ship berths.

Two of the additions to the Disney fleet were announced in 2016, with a third ship being announced last summer. Disney has yet to say where these ship will be based.

Terralina Crafted Italian is set to officially open it’s doors tomorrow, June 28th. James Beard Award-winning Chef Tony Mantuano is bringing his newest dining concept to the culinary world at Disney Springs. The space was inspired by Italy’s Lake District and is packed full of authentic Italian flavor.

You may recognize Chef Mantuano as he is a former contestant on Top Chef Masters. Working with Executive Chef Justin Plank, the two created the new menu for Terralina Crafted Italian. The menu will feature traditional Italian dishes such as House-made Lasagna and a Parmesan Duo with chicken and eggplant. There will also be an incredible House-made Porchetta and a Slow-roasted Beef Short Rib. Other Italian favorites such as pizzas, Bucatini with Clams and Center-cut Pork Chops will also be on the menu.

Chef Mantuano recently sat down with Disney for a Q & A session.

Disney: You are leading the concept and vision for Terralina Crafted Italian – what are you most excited about?

Chef: Seeing the restaurant come to life. We completely altered the entire space – the kitchen is now center stage and we added a wood-burning oven and charcoal grill. With the focus on the heart of the kitchen, dishes will embody the passion and fire of the flames.

Disney: How would you describe the atmosphere of Terralina Crafted Italian?

Chef: Relaxed and welcoming. It is inspired by the design and lifestyle of Italy’s Lake District – transporting guests to the shores of Italy. We expanded the outdoor dining area to include a veranda bar overlooking Riverboat Square to take advantage of the sweeping waterfront views.

Disney: How would you describe the menu?

Chef: Approachable. We stay true to the Italian spirit and culture. When I had the opportunity to apprentice in Italy, the chefs were so generous in sharing their talent and culinary techniques. I feel I owe it to them to represent the cuisine in the truest sense possible.

Disney: What do you anticipate to be a Guest favorite on the new menu?

Chef: Definitely the Antipasti Tower with its unique visual presentation. We went “vertical” with this display of cured meats, artisanal cheeses, and house-made pickled vegetables with pecorino truffle potato chips – the perfect appetizer to share with family and friends.

Disney: Any returning fan favorites from the Portobello Country Italian menu?

Chef: Chicken and Eggplant Parmigiana, hand-tossed pizza, and house-made pastas will again be on the menu. But Italian cuisine is much more than tomato sauce – and we want the food to jump off the plate with layers of flavors based on ingredients and cooking methods. The addition of the wood-burning oven and charcoal grill takes the dishes to the next level.

Disney: Your thoughts on this evolution of Disney Springs?

Chef: In the over 12 years I have been involved with Portobello Country Italian and now Terralina Crafted Italian, the evolution has been amazing – attracting top culinary talent, many of which are good friends. It has truly become a dining destination for locals and vacationers.

Disney: Which Disney Character would your family and friends say you are most like and why?

Chef: I think they would say Mickey Mouse. Like Mickey, I am positive and appreciate the people and talent on my team. I give my team leeway to make decisions and, in turn, build trust.
