Practically Perfect Opportunity For Advanced Viewing of Disney's Mary Poppins Returns

Hankering to see a movie this holiday season? I’ve got some good news! Advanced tickets for Disney’s “Mary Poppins Returns” are now on sale! If you’re more than ready to see Mary Poppins take the big screen again, jump at this fan event premiere being held on December 18th at Dolby Cinemas at AMC theaters all across the U.S. Fans who attend the opening (which premieres one day early for advanced ticket purchasers) will receive a commemorative pin celebrating the return of our favorite British nanny!

As you can see from these clips, this film will keep true to the Mary Poppins we all know and love. With a familiar cast of characters, Poppins has returned to assist the Banks family as they deal with a personal loss. Emily Blunt is sure to “wow” spectators as she takes on the role of the magic wielding, “practically-perfect” nanny, and we simply cannot wait!

Mary Poppins Returns will hit theaters on December 19th and is sure to wow fans of the original. AMC advanced ticket purchasers will get their special viewing on the 8th! Family Activity Areas Now Available at Select Disney World Resorts

In July, Walt Disney World quietly closed the kid’s activity centers around the resort. Now it appears those areas have been repurposed and just as quietly have reopened as family activity areas.

As a busy family that never seems to have enough time together, we are excited about this opportunity to spend time together in an all-new way. While we adore the Parks, sometimes it’s nice to just spend quiet time together and these centers will provide the perfect opportunity. Take in a Disney movie and enjoy some downtime to recharge before your next park adventure or create something together. Or a craft the newly named “Seaside Retreat” at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club resorts.

Since these areas are designed for families, childcare will not be provided. adults will need to be present the entire time. Those needing childcare can utilize in-room babysitting or the all-new Pixar Play Zone at the Contemporary Resort.

On The Blue Carpet – Ralph Breaks The Internet – UK Screening Gala The stars were out and happy to greet fans recently in the UK. Walking the BLUE carpet it was sure smiles all around. We are excited to hear the release of this second film broke box office records all over! We also have our suspicions that Ralph may have had something to do with internet hiccups on November 21 as the movie released. There is, of course, no official word and you guessed, we are joking! Funny coincidence don’t you think.

“Filmmakers, voice talent and special guests walked the red carpet at Curzon Mayfair to celebrate Ralph and Vanellope’s return to the big screen. Attendees include voice talent John C. Reilly (voice of Ralph), Sarah Silverman (voice of Vanellope) and Gal Gadot (voice of Shank), plus filmmakers Rich Moore (director), Phil Johnston (director/screenwriter) and Clark Spencer (producer).”

In “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” video-game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and best friend Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) leave the comforts of Litwak’s arcade in an attempt to save her game, Sugar Rush.

Their quest takes them to the vast, uncharted world of the internet where they rely on the citizens of the internet—the Netizens—to help navigate their way. Lending a virtual hand are Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), the head algorithm and the heart and soul of the trend-making site “BuzzzTube,” and Shank (voice of Gal Gadot), a tough-as-nails driver from a gritty online auto-racing game called Slaughter Race, a place Vanellope wholeheartedly embraces—so much so that Ralph worries he may lose the only friend he’s ever had.

Directed by Rich Moore (“Zootopia,” “Wreck-It Ralph”) and Phil Johnston (co-writer “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Zootopia,” writer, “Cedar Rapids”), and produced by Clark Spencer (“Zootopia,” “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Bolt,” “Lilo & Stitch”), “Ralph Breaks the Internet” opened in U.S. theaters on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018.

The cozy tops inspired by the loungewear the princesses rocked in the movie, are fabulous. The Tiana, Snow White, and Elsa ones look almost exactly like the ones in the movie too!

Ralph Breaks the Internet Breaks Some Records

Ralph Breaks the Internet breaks records with the best opening weekend numbers of any Disney animated sequel! Forbes is reporting that Walt Disney’s Ralph Breaks the Internet earned a near-record $84.5 million in its first five days of domestic release! As a matter of fact, the sequel beat out Moana’s opening Thanksgiving launch(it came in at $82m back in 2016). Ralph came in just under Tangled($93m in 2013) which was another big Thanksgiving release. Thanksgiving is typically a huge weekend for the box office as so many have family in town and the weekend off work. It’s usually a tradition in my family that we take all of the cousins and go see a movie. We have been doing it since we were little.

The opening comes as a bit of a surprise with all of the other films released this weekend. Usually, sequels don’t match the opening strength of an original release or first run film. It just goes to show you that 9 years later we were ready to see Ralph and Vanelope come back on the big screen with all of their new friends. Have you gone to see Ralph Breaks the Internet yet? I would see it again and again. My whole family laughed the entire time and we especially loved the cameos throughout the flick as well!

2019 is going to be huge for Walt Disney Picutures! Which new release are you looking forward to the most? I can’t wait for Toy Story 4, but I also don’t know if I am ready for the emotional rollercoaster that comes with it.

New Holiday Balloons Make Debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

While checking out the Flurry of Fun at Disney’s Hollywood Studios we spotted these new holiday Disney and Pixar themed balloons!

The new balloons are being sold for $17 each and include a light in the interior of the balloon to help light up the night.

One of the new holiday designs for the balloons include a Mickey and Friends. On one side you can see Pluto, Mickey and Minnie posing together, on the other side we find Goofy and Donald. Mickey and his Pals are all dressed up for the season, sporting cozy sweaters and holding wrapped up gifts!

The Pixar themed balloons are designed with the characters from Toy Story. One the front side of the balloon we see Woody and Buzz Lightyear all buddied up and on the other side is Jessie and her faithful companion, Bullseye.

With the successful opening of Toy Story Land this year at Disney’s Hollywood Studios we have seen a spike in Toy Story themed merchandise and food offerings at the park and we can’t wait to see what else is in store!

Both the Mickey and Friends and Toy Story Holiday Balloons are sold by vendors along with the iconic Mickey Ear Balloons by the merchandise Cast Members walking around Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Fantasia Gardens Operating Hours Set to Change

Guests looking to visit Disney’s Fantasia Garden be warned! Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf will have modified hours of operation from November 25 through December 22, 2018.

There are two different courses at Fantasia Gardens, The Gardens and The Fairway (a more challenging course). The Gardens mini golf course will be closing at 10 p.m. and the Fairways mini golf course will close at 9 p.m. during the modified operating hours period.

Hours will resume to normal operation, The Gardens closing at 11 p.m. and The Fairways closing at 10 p.m., starting December 23, 2018. The reason for the operating hours change has not been made clear by Disney. A potential reasoning could be due to construction taking place near the Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf area.

Located near The Swan and Dolphin Resorts, Fantasia Gardens is one of two Miniature Golf offerings at Walt Disney World. The other being Winter Summerland Miniature Golf located next to Disney’s Blizzard Beach Waterpark.

2018 Candlelight Processional Opens With First Narrator Chita Rivera

November 22, 2018 marked the start to the holiday classic performance of Disney’s Candlelight Processional at Epcot in Walt Disney World Resort.

Chita Rivera (Actress, Dancer, Singer) was the first in a series of narrators for the holiday inspired, music filled show. Pictured below is Chita Rivera narrating the Christmas Story.

The Candlelight Processional is performed by a 50-piece orchestra, Disney’s Voices of Liberty, and mass choir. The orchestra opens the show with trumpeters announcing the beginning of the show.

The first performers to enter the stage are the Voices of Liberty, who regularly perform in Epcot while wearing period clothing for their classical a cappella performance, but don red robes and collars during the processional.

One of the iconic portions of the show is the mass choir that makes up the festive form of a Christmas Tree, in the center of the stage behind the narrator. Most guests would be surprised to know this portion of the mass choir, dressed in green robes and collars, is completely made up of volunteer Walt Disney World Resort Cast Members! How cool is that?!

But what about the mass choir wearing gold robes and collars? Those are members from choirs, mostly high school choirs, that audition to be participants in the Candlelight Processional. Some travel from all over the country to perform, and some choirs are even invited to perform multiple nights during their auditioned season.

When all is said and done, the choir sets up to perform a spectacular set of holiday classic pieces performed in different languages such as German, Spanish, French, and English, which is very fitting since the performance takes place in the World Showcase portion of Epcot.

The rest of the show proceeds with performance from the orchestra and mass choir with the narrator, in this case Chita Rivera, telling portions of the Christmas Story during breaks between songs.

The Candlelight Processional takes place at both Disneyland Resort, in the Magic Kingdom, and at Walt Disney World Resort in Epcot.

Congratulations to Chita Rivera, on a memorable performance and to the members of the orchestra and mass choir for a spectacular show.

Annual Pass Night: Mickey's 90th Mouse Party!

Disneyland Paris is throwing a special party for Mickey Mouse’s 90th Birthday for Annual Passholders only! For one night only, on 6th December 2018 beginning at 8:30 pm until the early hours!

For this event, there will be unique shows, meetings with rare characters, attractions, dining and shopping!

There will be 5 shows, starting at 9 pm at the Central Plaza, Mickey and Minnie will welcome guests with a special Opening Ceremony show, kicking off the festivities. At 9:30pm/10: 30 pm at the Central Plaza, rehearse with Goofy to learn choreography and be a real Mouseketeer! At 10 pm/ 11:30 pm on Main Street, U.S.A. Join Mickey and friends in “The Follies of Mickey & Minnie” show! 11 pm at Central Plaza, guests should not miss this Dream nighttime spectacular show… as Disneyland Paris hints at the return of the beloved Dreams night show for one night only! Finally at 0:15 am join Mickey in a sing and a dance for this great festive finale, to celebrate his birthday!

One of the most exciting events at this exclusive party is the chance to meet many beloved and rare characters throughout Disneyland Park! Characters such as Kenai and Koda in Frontierland to Carl Fredricksen & Russell, Jane Porter & Terk in Adventureland. Robin Hood, Friar Tuck, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger in Fantasyland as well as Buzz Lightyear, Vanellope von Schweetz, Chewbacca, R2D2, Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps in Discoveryland! New Cars Racing Academy Show Coming to Hollywood Studios

I eat losers for breakfast.” If you’ve ever wanted to learn from the best and put Lightning McQueen’s advice to the test — you’re chance has finally arrived! A revolutionary new show, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, will put you right in the middle of the world of Disney•Pixar’s “Cars.”

During the show, you’ll become a student of the now retired Lightning McQueen as he trains a new generation of racers. However, Things don’t go exactly as planned. As is usually the case when Lighting is involved, a cast of friends are ready to help get things back on track.

This brand new show will be located near Rockin Roer Coaster and we are extremely excited about a new kid-friendly addition to Sunset Blvd. We are two adrenalin junkies who travel with a toddler, so Sunset Blvd is a favorite of ours but we have often wished there was something for him in the area too. Starting in Early 2019 now there will be!

Disney’s Boardwalk Resort Tennis Courts Currently Under Construction

Watch your elbows! Did you know there are tennis courts for Disney guests to use at some of the Walt Disney World Resorts?

Guests staying at any Walt Disney World Resort can visit a tennis court located at one of the following Disney Resorts: Disney’s Contemporary and Bay Lake Tower Resorts, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and Kadani Village, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort, Fort Wilderness Resort, Disney’s Old Key West Resort, Disney’s Saratoga Springs, and Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villa’s Resort. Resort guests can rent tennis equipment (Rackets and Tennis Balls) from the resort for a small fee, while Disney Vacation Club Members can rent the equipment for free.

With new and highly anticipated attractions coming to both Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios it’s easy to overlook the smaller updates taking place at the Disney Resorts. One such update is currently taking place at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort.

The tennis courts and surrounding area, including the sidewalk, are feeling the tennis love, meaning the area has zero guest access while construction is underway.

Disney has placed a sign out for curious guests to alert them to the construction in the area. The sign reads: “Pardon our pixie dust. Tennis Courts are currently closed for refurbishment.”

Luckily Disney is notifying current guests that they can use the tennis court available at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, which is only a short walk around or a friendship boat ride across the waters of Crescent Lake.

Disney also offers tennis lessons to resort guests!

The rules regarding tennis court usage at the Walt Disney World Resorts is first come, first serve (ha ha ha) between the hours of 9 a.m.-10 p.m. If a reservation for a lesson or special event will be taking place the tennis courts may be unavailable during that time to guests.

Once the refurbishment is complete it will be game, set, match for guests who love to play tennis and visit Disney’s Boardwalk Resort.
