Starbucks At Disney Springs Celebrating Toy Story Land Opening

With the grand official opening of Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios just a day away, everyone at the Walt Disney World Resort is getting into the spirit, including Starbucks Coffee in Disney Springs. This weekend, they have brought out an extra special selection of drinks.

Their “Land of Toys” Specials are getting guests geared up for Toy Story Land! Everyone’s favorite little green aliens may love The Claw Frappuccino. It’s green tea with java chips and matcha whipped cream. Or you could choose a cool Toy Mania Refresher that includes berry hibiscus lemonade topped with passion tea.

I’d go for The Space Ranger Frappuccino made with vanilla bean, fresh blueberries and matcha whipped cream. If you are totally excited for Slinky Dog Dash at Toy Story Land, you might try the Dog Dash Frappuccino. It’s white mocha with caramel syrup complete with a caramel drizzle.

Finally, to round out these incredible drink specials, is the Reach For The Sky Frappuccino. With ultra caramel and java chips, it’s any caramel lovers dream.

Swiss Family Treehouse safety netting

The iconic Swiss Family Treehouse has had safety netting added over the lower level walkways to prevent debris from falling on Guests. There have been no reports of debris falling or injuring Guests, but it’s better to be safe than sorry!

Embark on a breezy walk-through tour of the Robinson’s famous home nestled high inside a towering tree.

Cross a bridge at the foot of a large leafy tree and climb handcrafted wooden stairs as you explore the famed living quarters of the Swiss Family Robinson and learn of their island adventure.

Discover open-air rooms—brimming with a bevy of 19th-century articles salvaged from the famous shipwreck—including:

• The Living Room
Mahogany furniture, dishware, and an organ mingle alongside the large wheel from the shipwrecked Swallow ship.

• The Kitchen and Dining Room
A clamshell sink, a volcanic stone hearth and oven, and a table with benches are just some of the more modern conveniences you’ll see.

• The Crow’s Nest
See the living quarters of sons Fritz, Ernst and Francis, complete with hammocks, a ragged chest and strewn clothing.

Epcot's Eat to the Beat Concert Series

Eat to the Beat concert series is a huge part of Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival every year. And this year is no different! This concert series takes place most nights during the Food and Wine Festival and features acts from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s. Concerts are performed usually three times per evening so guests have plenty of opportunities to enjoy their favorite acts. There is no additional cost to attend these concerts as they are included in the price of your Epcot admission. The concert series is presented in Epcot’s American Gardens Theater at the America Pavilion in the World Showcase.

Disneyland Resort Independence Day Celebration Features 1st Marine Division Band

Disneyland Resort Independence Day celebration

The Disneyland Resort Independence Day celebration is bringing the stars and the stripes. On July 4th the Disneyland Resort will  welcome the 1st Marine Division Band based out of Camp Pendleton as well as participating in local parades in Anaheim and Huntington Beach. Organized in World War II, the 1st Marine Division Band consists of 50 Marine musicians and preserves our country’s strength and character, whether performing music or serving in a combat zone.

On Independence Day the 1st Marine Division Band will take part in the daily flag retreat ceremony at Disneyland park.  They will then participate in a pre-parade performance from Town Square to “it’s a small world” before the 6 p.m. showing of Pixar Play Parade. Finally, at 7 p.m., the band will perform a special concert at Fantasyland Theatre.

After all of that, guests at the Disneyland Resort can end their Fourth of July celebration with a special patriotic finale after “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular.” Come celebrate all that the 4th of July stands for at the Disneyland Resort. Or celebrate with Disney friends and the surrounding community by participating in the Huntington Beach and Anaheim Fourth of July celebrations. The parade in Huntington Beach will be broadcast live locally on ABC7, beginning at 10 a.m.

The Trolley Car Cafe at Hollywood Studios serves up some incredible Disney baked goods and Starbucks specialty coffee. This weekend, they have an Incredibles cupcake!

It’s no coincidence that this cupcake would appear. Last weekend, Pixar Pier held it’s grand opening at Disney California Adventure in Disneyland. This newly reimagined land is inspired by everyone’s favorite Pixar films including The Incredibles, Up!, Toy Story and more. Formerly known as California Screamin’, the Incredicoaster made it’s debut as well. This coaster takes guests on a high speed adventure to capture the elusive Jack Jack.

Also premiering this weekend in the world of Pixar is Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort. Toy Story Land will officially open this weekend, on June 30th. Join Woody, Buzz and the gang as they welcome guests to Walt Disney World’s newest land.

Join In On A Pixar Pals Dance Party At Pixar Fest

With Pixar Fest in full swing at the Disneyland Resort, guests of all ages are enjoying the celebration of Pixar. The fun atmosphere inspired by everyone’s favorite Pixar films just keeps getting better!

The Tomorrowland Terrace in Disneyland Park is now hosting the Pixar Pals Dance Party every evening! Complete with a DJ, you’re invited to hit the dance floor with some of your favorite characters like Mike and Sulley, Woody and Jessie or even some Green Army Men. This awesome party happens every night from 7pm to 10:30pm.

Going on now through September 3rd, Pixar Fest features incredible happenings such as the Pixar Play Parade, Paint the Night and Disneyland’s newest nighttime spectacular Together Forever. With so much to see and do, you’ll definitely want to check it out!

To continue the Pixar celebration, the Pixar Pier opened June 23rd. It features four neighborhoods inspired by all of your favorite Pixar films. Take a ride on the newly reimagined Incredicoaster or dine at the Lamplight Lounge.

New Entrance for Toy Story Mania Ride

We have been updating over the last few months about changes that were being made to the entrance and queue for Toy Story Mania. The queue for Toy Story Mania has been undergoing a refurbishment so that it will be accessible from the soon-to-be-open Toy Story Land. During the refurbishment, tracks of the ride have been shut down which also caused FastPasses not to be available for several days. While parts of the line may look the same, there is a completely new entrance and walkway as well. Check out some o the pics we snapped today at the media only preview of the new Toy Story Land.

Points pile up when you hit your mark. As any good cowboy or cowgirl knows, harder-to-hit targets are worth more. After each game, your score is posted showing how well you did; after all games are played, your total score is tallied and displayed.

New Poster from Disney’s “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms"

Check out this brand-new poster from Disney’s “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.” In this upcoming film, set to be released this year, 17-year old Mackenzie Foy plays Clara, who is brainy and bold in this vibrant adaptation directed by Lasse Hallström. “She’s very smart and independent,” says Foy. “She loves to think and find the fastest way to solve a problem.”

To retrieve a lost, magical key that will open a priceless gift from her mother, Clara must travel across the Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers, and Land of Sweets. It is in the Land of Sweets that she meets the fascinating Sugar Plum Fairy, played by Keira Knightley.

But there is an unease and trepidation in the Fourth Realm, ruled by Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren). “She’s a fierce character,” Mirren says, “with a modern edge.”

But don’t worry classic Nutcracker fans, you’ll recognize the nod to Tchaikovsky’s score and will enjoy a ballet sequence featuring Misty Copeland.

“The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” opens in theaters on Nov. 2, 2018.

Tax Increase Will Affect Those Cruising to the Bahamas

If you have plans to sail on a Disney Cruise to Nassau, Bahamas and/or Disney’s Castaway Cay in the future, you might be paying a little more for those souvenirs your purchase while there. Recently, Bahamian officials announced an increase on the island country’s VAT or value-added tax. Currently, the tax is 7.5% but is increasing to 12%.

The increase was slated to go into effect on July 1. However, after many retailers complained, the Bahamian government has decided to extend the increase deadline until August 31. This will give the Bahamian retailers time to make necessary price changes.

In addition to cruise guests paying more for souvenirs during their cruise, travelers may expect to see an increase on port excursions as well.

While Castaway Cay is owned by Disney Cruise Line, it is part of the country of the Bahamas and falls under their taxing structure.

As we’ve previously reported, the World of Disney store in Disney Springs at the Walt Disney World resort is undergoing a refurbishment. Part of that refurbishment includes the outside signage.  Check out this new World of Disney signage now up at Disney Springs!

Look at Stitch back in all his glory y’all!  It just would be the same without 626, right?

And I love how bright those new signs are!  They are super fun and colorful! They just make you feel happy and cheerful, right?

And as you can see, there are still construction walls up, so they aren’t quite done yet.

And remember, half of the store is currently closed as it is undergoing refurbishment as well. The reimagining of World of Disney at Disney Springs (and also the Downtown Disney location at the Disneyland Resort) began earlier this year. And while part of the store is closed to the public while it gets its facelife, Disney shoppers should remember that to compensate for the construction, visitors can also visit Ever After Jewelry Co. or The Corner Store both of which are carrying select merchandise while sections of World of Disney are closed.
