Get A First Look At the Four Realms From Disney’s Nutcracker

Get A First Look At the Four Realms From Disney's Nutcracker

Disney’s The Nutcracker and The Four Realms will be coming to the big screen this fall and delivering a whole new take on the traditional, holiday classic. This new version will give audiences a greater look into the worlds of the Nutcracker than what is seen on stage in a ballet.

Nutcracker The Four Realms

Guy Hendrix Dyas, the production designer for Four Realms, wanted to create the realms to be “aesthetically pleasing” with a “logical backbone. Therefore, he designed the world of the Nutcracker to be believable, logical and to utilize as little CGI as possible.

The Nutcracker Four Realms

The Palace

At the center of the Nutcracker’s world is The Palace. Inspired by Russian architecture and splash in highly saturated colors, “You’re not really sure, looking at some of these buildings, whether they are real palaces or toys in the imagination of a child,” said Dyas.

Land of the Flowers

Inspired by southern England villages and Dutch windmills, this realm is home to farmers and beekeepers- the land where all the “primary functions of a society are done”. Dyas loaded up the set with live flowers to get “the perfume in the air” and allow the performers to “really feel the magic of what it must be like to be in a world of flowers.”

Land of Snowflakes

This realm is home to minters, ice producers, and politicians and draws inspiration from 16th-century German villages and a famous Swedish ice hotel. The actress portraying Clara (the main character) described entering this magical set as walking into a “new world”.

Land of Sweets

Inspired by the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Land of Sweets is built from real candy. Drawing inspiration from the board game Candy Land and the Victorian era, Dyas created a work of chocolate tile roofs, nougat walls and stained-glass windows made of boiled sweets. This realm showcases individuals hard at work as it houses the “industrial revolution”

The Fourth Realm

The Fourth Realm was formerly known as the Land of Amusements, the “fun fair and circus center of the world”.  However,  over many years it has become a “mysterious place” which many are now afraid to visit.

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms comes to theatres November 2, 2018.

Delightful Frightful Fun Abounds at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

MNSSHP

Delightful Frightful Fun abounds at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.  Summer is ending, and the Season of Autumn is just around the corner.  Therefore, the Walt Disney World Resort kicked off their first Halloween Party and we could not be more excited.  From trick-or-treating and specialty foods to character meets and event entertainment, this event is a blast.

First of all, we love trick-or-treating.  So, we scanned our party tickets and received a wristband for the evening.  As we entered the Magic Kingdom, we were greeted by some delightful Cast Members who guided us along our way.  Likewise, we chose to enter by The Chapeau because that is where we began collecting candy.  Consequently, that entrance also allowed us to take advantage of some fun photo-ops.

Secondly, the Disney Chefs have conjured up some Delightful Frightful Fun specialty foods for the 2018 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Partie.   The sweet treats consist of the Not-So-Poison Apple Cupcake, the Oogie Boogie Meringue, and the Hitch-hiking Ghost Dessert to name a few.  Not a big fan of all the sugary sweets?  Certainly, you will want to try the Munster Smash Burger at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.  It’s smashingly awesome!  So, one piece of advice; arrive early for this frightful burger as they will sell out of the black buns.  Similarly, we purchased our burger after the Hallowishes Fireworks.  At that time, there were only regular buns available. Also, when we head back to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, we are definitely getting this burger again.

Similarly, check out our short video as Disney Chef Kevan shows us how to create a Not-So-Poisonous Apple here:

Thirdly, we enjoyed character meets, checking out some of the Delightful Frightful Fun add-ons to some of the rides, and seeing the themed merchandise.

First of all, take a look at our short video of Mickey, Minnie and Disney Ambassador Ken here:

Furthermore, our short video of the Delightful Frightful Fun Thriller Goofy had us laughing:

Another short video features Steven Miller as he tells us about some of his top pics for the 2018 event merchandise:

Finally, here is our video from Pirates of the Caribbean as a Pirate warns us about Gunpowder Pete:

Lastly, do not miss the event entertainment.  In contrast, the Mickey’s ‘Boo-To-You”Halloween Parade, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular and the Happy Hallowishes Fireworks are all excellent.  Furthermore, these three presentations are beyond Delightful Frightful Fun.

Additionally, here is our Live Video of the Happy Hallowishes Fireworks

Finally, you can view our Witching Hour Live Video of the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular here:

Hence, be sure to find a few minutes in your evening to make some new friends, and meet up with some existing friends.

In conclusion, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party abounds with Delightful Frightful Fun for the entire family.  Therefore, we highly recommend experiencing this incredible event at least once.  Furthermore, the trick-or-treating, specialty foods, character meets and event entertainment make the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Parties one of the most popular events on offer at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Will you be attending one of the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Parties this year?  Please leave your comments in the box below.

Body Found in Burnt Car Near Fantasia Gardens Mini Golf at Walt Disney World

Fantasia Gardens Death

Fantasia Gardens Death

We here at Chip and Co. are sad to share the news that we are receiving reports from various Disney news sources that early this morning the Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a car on fire near Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course at Walt Disney World. Once on the scene, they discovered a body in the car.

Those familiar with Walt Disney World geography will know that Fantasia Gardens is close to the Epcot Area deluxe resorts as well as the Swan and Dolphin properties.

The call reportedly came in at 4:11 this morning.  Officers on the scene found the vehicle in flames and the Reedy Creek Fire Department was called in to cull the fire.  After the fire was extinguished the body was discovered.  No information has yet to be released regarding the identity of the victim.

Readers are encouraged to continue to follow along with Chip and Co. for the latest updates regarding this and other breaking Walt Disney World stories.

Recap of the First Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party of 2018

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Let’s boo this! The first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party of 2018 kicked off last night in a big way. This special-ticket event even sold out but don’t worry we were there covering all the spooky details for you. With spellbinding entertainment, deliciously ghoulish treats, and rare character sightings, guests in the Magic Kingdom park at the Walt Disney World Resort celebrated until midnight.

Plus there are new twists and treats this year:

  • On Pirates of the Caribbean, guests will interact with new live pirates who encourage everyone to be on the lookout for Gunpowder Pete, a scoundrel with an eye on the same treasure sought by Captain Jack Sparrow.

  • The Mad Tea Party will take guests on a colorful teacup ride, as special lighting and other effects put a glowing new spin on the attraction at night.

  • Explorers visiting Space Mountain will hurtle through the blackness of deep space to the riffs of a new hard-rockin’ soundtrack.
  • Storybook Circus welcomes the new Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jam, a dance party featuring favorite Disney Junior characters, including Doc McStuffins and Timon from “The Lion Guard.”
  • New this year in Frontierland, prospector Cactus-Flower Cate rounds up youngsters for the Frontierland Costume Promenade, encouraging them to show off their costumes in a quest for the greatest treasure in the land – candy!

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party entertainment did not disappoint, the Sanderson Sisters put a spell on guests with the first show of the evening. Joined by numerous Disney villains, the sisters performed Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular on the castle stage three times throughout the night.

Between all the hocus pocus, Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade made its way down Main Street, featuring your favorite ghosts and ghouls from the Haunted Mansion. The not-so-scary parade begins at 9:15 p.m. and again at 11:15 p.m. giving guests two chances to catch their favorite Disney characters getting into the Halloween spirit.

And of course, all of our favorite Disney characters were dressed up for the party ready for meet and greets!

Happy HalloWishes Fireworks show really was the main event of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The stunning fireworks display was complemented with music from Ursula, Oogie Boogie, and many more creepy classics.

The delicious Halloween themed goodies were a treat for the eyes and the taste buds! From Candy Corn Ice Cream to Jack Skellington Push Pops, and everything in between, there was no shortage of spooky snacks. You can see our full delicious coverage HERE. Speaking of spooky snacks, in true Disney fashion, Disney made sure that every guest was able to fully enjoy their time at the Halloween party by including an Allergy-Friendly Experience for guests with various food allergies.

Along with all the entertainment and tasty treats of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, there is some great Halloween merchandise in the parks. I especially love the Hocus Pocus Spirit Jersey with the Villains Spelltacular logo on the front and has “Amuck Amuck Amuck” on the back. Click HERE to check out our article displaying all of the awesome Halloween merchandise available during the party.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs select nights Aug. 17-Oct. 31 at Magic Kingdom Park – the earliest in the calendar year it’s ever started. It’s also the 25th anniversary of Walt Disney Pictures’ “Hocus Pocus,” so what better way to celebrate the film than the spellbinding Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular at Cinderella Castle, where the Sanderson Sisters take “stage fright” to another level.
