Tokyo Disneyland Celebrates Daisy Duck at Let's Party Gras

Daisy Duck, fashionista and girlfriend of Donald Duck, turned 72 last week. She debuted in the animated short “Don Donald” on January 9th, 1937. Although she didn’t appear as Daisy until 1940 in “Mr. Duck Steps Out”. Since then, the chic fowl has become a regular to Disney cartoons. She’s now included in the line-up of classic Disney characters and an icon for the company and parks. One of the ways Disney recently celebrated the duck was at the “Let’s Party Gras!” show in Tokyo Disneyland.

Premiering last year as part of Tokyo Disney Resort’s 35th anniversary “Happiest Celebration”, the show instantly became a favorite for park guests. The anniversary brought many new shows and experiences that have endured as well.  “Let’s Party Gras!” is a New Orleans themed show inspired by a Mardi Gras carnival. The performance features a line-up of favorite characters and songs. Guests are encouraged to join in and participate in the festivities to add to the merriment.

The performance follows the Three Caballeros as they arrive in New Orleans for a Mardi Gras celebration. Things get exciting when the trio learns that their Disney friends have instead planned a special “Party Gras”. Mickey, Goofy and the rest of the gang have created this new party to add even more fun to the Mardi Gras bash. The new party can only happen with four key elements: an artistic venue, striking costumes, happy music, and heartfelt dancing. With a beautiful backdrop, creative outfits, and entertaining songs the party is ultimately a success!

“Let’s Party Gras!” can be seen daily at Theater Orleans in Tokyo Disneyland. Guests can look forward to appearances by Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Daisy and more. The show is roughly 25 minutes and is open to all park guests.
