Watch Sarah Silverman Record A Place Called Slaughter Race

You have probably seen the movie by now, but just in case you haven’t, here is a tip – definitely see Wreck it Ralph 2 – Ralph Breaks the Internet!

It has been six years since Ralph won his medal in “Wreck-It Ralph,” and he and Vanellope are still the best of friends. One night they discover a Wi-Fi router in Litwak’s Arcade, which leads them on the adventure of a lifetime!  There are car races, Disney Princesses, and enough jokes to entertain parents as much as the kids.

Plus, there is the song “A Place Called Slaughter Race”.  Written by Alan Menken, as all good Disney Princess songs are, the song is pure Vanellope – quirky, funny, and heartfelt. Not only is it uplifting, featuring a wandering Princess in search of her true feelings, it also includes lines such as “We have fallen wires, dumpster fires, creepy clowns, and burning tires/That great white in the sewer”.  Plus, it’s a catchy tune!

Sarah Silverman, who plays Vanellope, got to record “A Place Called Slaughter Race” live with a 70-plus-piece orchestra.  And for her, it was a dream come true to record an original song written by one of her idols.  Disney Legend Alan Menken wrote her favorite musical, Little Shop of Horrors. “A Place Called Slaughter Race” has been nominated for an Oscar in the Best Original Song Category. The 91^stAcademy Awards will be held on February 24, 2019.
