New Magical Express Buses Spotted at Walt Disney World

Earlier this Summer, we reported that the Magical Express buses at Walt Disney World would be getting a makeover. Yesterday, we spotted our first one on the roads of Walt Disney World and I have to admit they are pretty sweet!

These brand new buses can be seen on Central Florida roadways, transportation Guests between Walt Disney World resorts and Orlando International Airport.

The new Magical Express buses have the iconic “Disney” script and read Disney Magical Express. The new buses were designed to match the look of the Disney Cruise Line motorcoaches which was one of the reasons for the change. The outside of the buses also feature Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck, Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto. It wouldn’t be Disney without our favorite characters!

The Disney’s Magical Express team (under the leadership of Jo-Ann Arndt and Kelly Kinner) in partnership with Walt Disney Imagineering, was the driving force behind the new look. “We believe our Guests will be ‘wowed’ by the new Disney’s Magical Express design when they see our motorcoaches,” Kelly said. “It will bring that special smile we see so often when our Guests first spot our Disney characters.”

Any jazz lovers out there? If so, this new event at Disneyland Paris will be right up your alley! A Jazz Night at Disneyland Paris is a new family-friendly event featuring jazz musicians, Disney Characters, your favorite attractions, and the delightful Disney Loves Jazz concert. The Disney Mickey Mouse Collection features one pint of Triple Chocolate Surprise, one pint of Confetti Celebration and one pint of Peanut Butter Jamboree. Each pint also has 2 spoons under the lid! Select Walt Disney World Restaurants Offering Plastic Straws by Request Only

As we previously reported, in an effort to reduce plastic waste, Disney would be phasing out the use of small plastic items at their Parks, Resorts, and Stores. As part of that initiative, it was announced that plastic straws would be removed from Walt Disney World by the end of 2019.

Well, it looks like that phasing out phase is now in full effect. Disney Food Blog has just reported that plastic straws are only available to adults by request at the Kona Cafe inside Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. They are also reporting that this same procedure will be implemented at Cape May Cafe inside Disney’s Beach Club Resort in the near future. Plastic straws are still be given with children’s cups.

In addition to the elimination of plastic straws, Disney also starting replacing individual bathroom toiletries with refillable bottles and has also vowed to significantly reduce the use of plastic bags.

Two New Bars Pop-Up at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

As we previously reported, the Tambu Lounge at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort would close temporarily for a refurbishment. While I am sad to report that the popular Walt Disney World watering hole is closed, I am happy to announce that two new temporary bars have popped up in its place!

The first of the temporary pop-up bars is the day bar and located as soon as you come in the entrance from the Monorail and next to the Mercantile. This bar will be open daily from 9 am to 5 pm.

The second “evening bar,” is located behind ‘Ohana and open daily from 1 pm to 11 pm.

Both bars will serve popular options from the Tambu Lounge including my favorite, the Lapu Lapu! In addition to the popular cocktails the Lounge is known for, a few draught beer selections are available at both spots.

High boy tables are also set up in each bar area for guests to enjoy their beverages.

We were told today that the refurbished Tambu Lounge inside Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort should reopen in about two and a half months.

Today during our resort tour we spotted a new fun treat at Disney’s Old Key West. We stopped inside Good’s Food To Go, the Old Key West quick-service location and found the Pina Colada Cupcake!
