*We have an update! It’s a boy! The little Masai giraffe calf has been identified as a boy and is doing fantastic! Mom and baby have been kept backstage so they can keep a close eye on him and make sure he is doing well! Stay tuned because it seems as though we might have a chance at choosing the new giraffes name!
Baby Giraffe Born Today at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park! Have you ‘herd’ the big news? A baby giraffe was added to the Animal Kingdom family today! Mara, a Masai giraffe, gave birth to a calf today around 2:00 p.m. on the Kilimanjaro Safari Savanna. This new “little one” stands about 6 feet tall and is bonding well with her mother. Gender is still undetermined, but stay tuned for more updates!
