Nancy Cartwright has become well known as one of the world’s leading voice actors. The Emmy-winner is best known as the iconic voice of Bart Simpson for almost 20 years. Cartwright has had a long and interesting career lending her voice to other hits like Goof Troop and Animaniacs. She’s even appeared in front of the camera in feature films like Twilight Zone: The Movie. One of her most beloved roles is that of Rufus, the naked mole-rat, from the Disney Channel series Kim Possible. It was just announced that Cartwright will be returning to reprise her role in the upcoming live-action Kim Possible movie.
Cartwright will be once again providing the voice for Rufus in the new Disney Channel Original Film. This time to fit in with the live-action setting, Rufus will be computer generated. While Rufus can’t speak words, he gets his point across with squeaks and giggles that only an accomplished voice actor like Cartwright can bring to life.
Based on the hit animated series, the new movie follows the adventures of Kim Possible and her team. Kim and her sidekick Ron Stoppable, are about to enter their first year of high school, but can they balance being heroes with the pressures of school? Kim’s team is made up of tech-genius Wade, new friend Athena and of course Rufus the naked mole-rat. Rufus joins the team after he’s rescued by Ron from a science facility and the two become fast friends.
The “Kim Possible” live-action Disney Channel Original Movie premieres Friday, February 15 (8:00 p.m. ET/PT) on Disney Channel and Disney Now.
