Frog Prince Whoopie Pie Around For a Limited Time

Frog Prince Whoopie Pie Around For a Limited Time

“You know the thing about good food? It brings folks together from all walks of life. It warms them right up and it puts little smiles on their faces”-Disney’s Princess and the Frog  Now for a very limited time you can make a different kind of whoopie… with the new Frog Prince Whoopie Pie found in Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom.

It’s a cinnamon whoopie pie with graham cracker icing, sprinkles, and a chocolate frog and is sold for $4.99 or one snack credit. Available just until March 6th, this treat came out the same time as some other fun new foodie options at Walt Disney World this week.

Swing by Magic Kingdom for the New Lost Princess Cone

The same day the Frog Prince Whoopie Pie came out we also got to try the very delish “Lost Princess Cone” from Storybook Treats in Magic Kingdom.  Standing out is the purple cone, from her iconic dress. Filling up the cone is a tangy yellow soft-serve (Dole Whip), representing her spiraling mounds of braided golden blonde hair.

Not to be outdone, the new “Adventure is Out There” cone was released as well! The blue sugar cone is filled with a delicious mango Dole whip and is topped with a balloon garnish. The balloons are milk chocolate pearls set in a cloud of white chocolate. You don’t need a GPS to find this treat! It’s located at Auntie Gravities in Magic Kingdom.

Pop Stars Halsey and Yungblud Have Date Night at Disneyland

Chart-topping singer Halsey recently took her boyfriend and fellow pop artist, Yungblud, to Disneyland Resort for a special date night. The two spent a fun-filled evening touring the Disneyland park and meeting with Minnie Mouse herself, all dressed up for the Get Your Ears On celebration.

The star, best known for hits like “Without Me” and “Closer” was excited to bring Yungblud for his first visit to the parks. The pair took in a romantic ride on King Arthur Carrousel but also made sure to ride Space Mountain and Matterhorn Bobsleds before dinner. They topped their Disney date night off with a viewing of “Mickey’s Mix Magic”, the fun new projection show that debuted as part of the Mickey and Minnie Celebration.

Construction at the France Pavilion Continues to Progress

Construction at the France Pavilion Continues to Progress

As we get closer to Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary in 2021, more and more changes are showing up around the parks. Epcot is taking on a serious overhaul currently. Construction continues to progress in the France Pavilion where the building, home to the new Ratatouille ride continues to expand.

Once completed, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will feature a trackless 3D dark ride. Today, this ride operates in Disneyland Paris, and it was announced last year it would be added to Walt Disney World in time for the 50th-anniversary celebrations.

Construction at the France Pavilion Continues to Progress

The exterior of the attraction is designed after Gusteau’s restaurant, with the rest of the building resembling the Parisian plaza. After queuing on the rooftops of Paris, the fun begins. As a guest, you will shrink down to the size of a rat and board your “ratmobiles”. While on the roof of Gusteau’s, Remy and Chef Guseteau try to decide what meal to serve you. After falling through the ceiling to the kitchen floor, the chase is on. I won’t spoil all of it for you, but good luck in the chase!!

The trackless system isn’t new to Disney. Currently, it’s the same ride concept being used in Pooh’s Honey Hunt at Tokyo, Disneyland, and Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters at Disney California Adventure.

Construction at the France Pavilion Continues to Progress

Current estimates have the ride slated to open Spring 2020. The exterior construction is becoming more visible especially for guests near the International Gateway entrance and exit.  It’s much clearer to see the size the structure now vs just a few months ago.

Remy isn’t the only new attraction coming to the France Pavilion. Coming soon, no official date has been released, is a Beauty and the Beast sing-along.

I’m excited about the changes and enhancements coming to Epcot in the next couple of years. It’s a park that really does need some extra T.L.C, but once everything is complete, it’s really going to shine.

I would love to hear what your favorite country is and what you think about all the changes coming to Epcot. Do you have a favorite country or favorite food to eat when you visit? Our family favorite is the fish and chips in England. Every visit to Epcot requires at least one meal be fish and chips. Mexico comes in a close second. If you haven’t had the chips and guac or a margarita from Mexico, add them to your list. All of the countries really do a great job.

Do you want to visit Remy or maybe belt out your favorite Beauty and the Beast songs?  As a travel planner with Key to the World Travel, the official travel partner for Chip and Company, I can help you with all Disney Destinations, Universal Orlando, Cruises, and more!  Best of all, my services are FREE to you! Japan Pavilion Restaurant Construction Update

Japan Pavilion Restaurant Construction Update

We are coming to you with a quick update on the construction happenings over in Epcot between the Japan and Morocco Pavilions. A new restaurant is under construction.

Japan is welcoming in a new table-service restaurant, in addition to the two that already exist; Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining. So good news hibachi & sushi fans–nothing is being closed or replaced!

What we know about the restaurant is simply, it’s ambiance will draw from nature and takumi (artisan in Japanese) and it is operated by Mitsukoshi. Mitsukoshi runs the other restaurants and retail areas in the Japan pavilion. The restaurant is housed between the current Japan Pavilion and on the path to visiting Morocco.

Here’s some more pictures captured showing the construction progress on the Japan Pavilion in Epcot.

Could Your Old Disney VHS Movies Be Worth A Fortune?

Are Your Old Disney VHS Tapes Worth a Fortune?

Most older Disney fans will remember the joys of building their Disney VHS movie collection. The oversized plastic shells, the ads for Walt Disney World or Disneyland included inside, the trailers for upcoming Disney movies, all created a unique experience for collectors in the ’80s and ’90s. Some of us still have our VHS collections (or at least I do!), and there’s a possibility that they could be worth a lot more than you would think. But don’t go tearing up the attic looking for that old copy of The Rescuers so quickly, there’s a catch.

For a limited time between 1984 and 1994, Disney released a special series of their classic animated films called the “Black Diamond Collection”. These VHS releases were mostly older Disney films, and some new, that were given a black diamond marking on the upper spine of the iconic large plastic case. Currently, on eBay, there are users asking upwards of $1,000 for a Black Diamond edition of the Little Mermaid. Though in reality that’s quite a bit more than most listings are priced. Here’s a full list of all Disney Black Diamond Collection films that were released:

  • “Robin Hood”
  • “Pinocchio”
  • “Dumbo”
  • “Sword in the Stone”
  • “Alice in Wonderland”
  • “Sleeping Beauty”
  • “Lady and the Tramp”
  • “Cinderella”
  • “Bambi”
  • “The Little Mermaid”
  • “Peter Pan”
  • “The Jungle Book”
  • “Alice in Wonderland” (2nd release)
  • “Dumbo” (2nd release)
  • “Robin Hood” (2nd release)
  • “The Sword in the Stone” (2nd release)
  • “The Rescuers Down Under”
  • “Fantasia”
  • “101 Dalmatians”
  • “The Great Mouse Detective”
  • “The Rescuers”
  • “Beauty and the Beast”
  • “Aladdin”
  • “The Fox and the Hound”

While there may be online sellers out there asking for thousands of dollars for these special tapes, it doesn’t necessarily mean that’s what they’re worth. Searching eBay further turns up many other listings for Black Diamond Collection tapes with much lower price tags. The “Walt Disney Classics” label titles can sometimes be worth far more. The bottom line is that although these are considered “collectible” items by many Disney fans, always use caution and research when purchasing.

Wreck It Ralph 2 – Ralph Breaks The Internet Blu-Ray DVD Review

Ralph Breaks The Internet Blu-Ray DVD Review

Wreck It Ralph 2 - Ralph Breaks The Internet Blu-Ray DVD Review

We’re not gonna wreck it, we’re gonna break it now! Ralph Breaks The Internet crashes onto 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray and DVD on February 26th, and we can’t wait to break the internet with him all over again. The Blu-ray and DVD are packed full of exciting bonus features, and deleted scenes.

Wreck It Ralph 2 - Ralph Breaks The Internet Blu-Ray DVD Review

“Ralph Breaks the Internet” arrives home with a wide-range of exclusive extras, taking fans behind the scenes at Walt Disney Animation Studios to explore how artists created the film’s vibrant version of the internet — from comical cat videos to the intense online game Slaughter Race to shady characters on the Dark Net. Features also reveal some Easter eggs — inside jokes and references to other Disney films and characters hidden throughout the film — and filmmakers introduce some never before revealed deleted scenes.

Wreck It Ralph 2 - Ralph Breaks The Internet Blu-Ray DVD Review

The Blu-ray combo pack comes in a case with a holographic box cover, that looks great displayed on the shelf. My family enjoyed watching the deleted scenes the most, but we can’t leave out the Easter Eggs, and fun internet parodies.

One of the deleted scenes involved Q*Bert and you can check that out here, but there were other fun ones including a bit of parenting drama, some meme comparison, and others. They are all a lot of fun, and the best part is that Rich Moore and Phil Johnston do a bit of commentary before each one, explaining the clip, and why it had to be removed.

You can go surfing for Easter Eggs in one of the bonus features, which takes you on a ride through all of the fun hidden references, and jokes the animators have hidden throughout the film.

Another bonus feature we really enjoyed was the music videos! The Imagine Dragons music video “Zero” is a song that has a catchy beat with lyrics that really relate to Ralph. In This Place” by Julia Michaels is a slower paced song that touches on Vanellope’s character on the film.

These are just a handful of what you’ll find when you bring home Ralph Breaks The Internet on 4K Ultra HD or Blu-ray and DVD!

Full Blu-ray & Digital BONUS FEATURES:

  • How We Broke the Internet –Go behind the scenes at Walt Disney Animation Studios to get an in-depth look at how the filmmakers brought a world to life that billions of people visit every day but never actually see – the internet. Take a front-row seat as the team reveals the inspirations for the story and what it took to bring it to the screen. Discover all that went into developing the characters of the film including netizens like KnowsMore as well as characters like Double Dan. See the lengths the team took to create the car chase scenes in Slaughter Race and much, much more.
  • Surfing for Easter Eggs – Surf the web for the near-countless Easter Eggs, inside jokes and references hidden throughout the movie.
  • The Music of Ralph Breaks the Internet – Take a look at the music of Ralph Breaks the Internet with appearances by Imagine Dragons, Julia Michaels, Alan Menken, Sarah Silverman and more.
  • Deleted Scenes – Five deleted scenes with intros from directors Rich Moore and Phil Johnston. Scenes include Into the Internet, Opposites, Domestic Hell, Bubble of One & Recruiting “Grandma.”
  • BuzzzTube Cats – Many videos were created by the animators to fill the screens of the Internet world…and lots of them are of cats! Check out the BuzzzTube to watch this hilarious cat compilation.

ABC Commissary Is Getting Self-Serve Drink Stations

ABC Commissary Is Getting Self-Serve Drink Stations

Construction walls went up this week around certain areas inside the ABC Commissary in Hollywood Studios.  These are likely in preparation for the self-serve soda fountains coming to the Quick Service location.

ABC Commissary Is Getting Self-Serve Drink Stations

Work began this week, with no expected opening date as of yet.  It’s likely that these new machines will be the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines that have been popping up all over Disney property.  If that’s true, guests will be able to select from a multitude of different beverage and flavoring selections to fill up their cups.

ABC Commissary Is Getting Self-Serve Drink Stations

When you do fill your cup at the ABC Commissary, it will be a new, sturdier Solo brand cup.  Earlier this month the new style of cups debuted at quick service locations and have replaced the flimsy-er Dixie brand cups.  The sturdy new style is less prone to spillage now that Disney no longer provides plastic lids on fountain drinks.

Another change we’ll see soon is the switch from plastic to earth-friendly paper straws.  These changes are part of a larger environmental initiative to create less waste in its theme parks throughout the world.

We previously reported that there was going to be a number of new desserts making an appearance in February and March. One of these new desserts is the Hei Hei cone which honestly lives up to its name perfectly! For those that don’t know, the word Hei Hei means “disturbance” or an “interruption from the norm”.  An interruption from the norm perfectly describes this cone!

The Hei Hei Cone is a blue cone that is filled with a layer of Pineapple DOLE Whip®, Raspberry Soft-serve, Sugar-Piece eyes, and a Sour Candy ‘Comb’.  Doesn’t it look amazing?!  This cone is found exclusively at  Aloha Isle.  You can get your very own Hei Hei Cone for only $5.49.
