Construction Equipment Has Appeared On the World Showcase Lagoon at Epcot

As of last week, there is a new sight to see at Epcot. While this sight is not necessarily one you would visit to see it is one that sparks interest. Construction equipment has moved into place on the World Showcase lagoon. Now the question looms, why is the equipment there, and what will it be doing?

Construction around the Walt Disney World Resort has become common and with all of the upgrades an expected sight. While the reason for much of the construction is well known, the construction on the World Showcase lagoon is not so clear.  While it is entirely possible and likely the equipment is related to the new nighttime show  coming after Illuminations: Reflections of Earth departs, with no official announcement we do not know for sure.

Illuminations will end later this year, making way for a new show making its debut in 2020. In the interim, a temporary show will run nightly.  The temporary show is entitled “Epcot Forever” will make its debut this fall. The show will surely tug at heartstrings and bring back floods of memories as it tells the story of Epcot. Beginning with “One Little Spark”, the soundtrack will be a trip down memory lane as we revisit music from those classic Epcot attractions.

For now, though, we will just have to wonder what all that machinery is up to. With all of the exciting updates coming to Epcot and all over the resort I am sure we are in for a treat.

Stay tuned for construction updates and details on the shows coming this fall and in 2020.
