New Poison Apple Mousse Is Wickedly Delicious

New Poison Apple Mousse Is Wickedly Delicious

Go on just one bite. There’s a brand new spooky treat at the Trolley Car Cafe (Starbucks) at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s the Poison Apple Mousse.

New Poison Apple Mousse Is Wickedly Delicious

The Poison Apple Mousse has two different kinds of mousse inside, chocolate and caramel. There is also a layer of apple pie filling. A black glossy coating finishes this evil treat. The coating itself is very messy. Be careful getting this treat out of the box that it comes in.

The Poison Apple Mousse wasn’t my first snack choice but it turned out to be really delicious. I love it when Disney has fun and festive desserts that aren’t just cupcakes. This one was really neat for pictures and the flavor was good.

New Poison Apple Mousse Is Wickedly Delicious

Make sure you get this one soon if it’s on your list! Halloween is only a couple weeks away and I don’t imagine it’ll last much longer (if at all) after Halloween. The Poison Apple Mousse is $5.29 plus tax or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit.

New Merchandise Location Opens at the Epcot Experience

Merchandise Epcot Experience

Who doesn’t love shopping at Disney Parks? It seems there’s always some new merchandise or a new trend to seek out and binge-buy. But now, Epcot hasn’t only brought out new items for us, they’ve brought an entirely new merchandise location!

New Merchandise Location Opens at the Epcot Experience

The Epcot Experience opened up earlier this month, showcasing all the upcoming changes to be found around the park. Located inside the Odyssey Pavilion, guests will find dynamic previews, as well as photo ops, a snack counter, and, you guessed it, a new place to load up on Epcot gear! At the moment, there appears to be a good number of T-shirts to choose from, a couple of hats, and reusable water bottles. All of the items are designed with the new Epcot Experience projection in mind, with a definite nod to the redecorating efforts made.

New Merchandise Location Opens at the Epcot Experience

Guests looking for Spaceship Earth T-shirts, iridescent hats, or reusable water bottles with matching T-shirts will be pleased to find the area is devoid of the traffic of the larger shops, such as Mouse Gear. The variety is limited compared to other shops (and much of this merchandise has been made available at Mouse Gears), but depending on what visitors are looking for, it suits a good number of needs. A Cast Member is always in attendance, ready to ring up merchandise or answer questions. A great shopping experience in an unassuming spot!

Whether it’s to make a purchase or just look around, the new Epcot Experience is a must-see for fans of the park. Be sure to stop by for a Mickey pretzel, a new T-shirt, and a preview of the amazing things to come!

Two-Year-Old’s Reaction to Seeing the Hulk Goes Viral

Two-Year-Old's Reaction to the Hulk Goes Viral

This two-year-old’s reaction to seeing the Hulk for the first time has gone viral!

Here’s the adorable video:

After seeing the Hulk destroy everything in sight, the sweet child reacts in dismay and shock saying “No! No!”. To be honest, I think I would have the same reaction if someone was Hulk-smashing my belongings too!

Although there is no sign of any new Hulk content in Marvel’s near future, “She-Hulk” is coming to Disney+ soon!

$20,000 Worth Of Attraction Props Went Missing At Walt Disney World

$20000 attractions props missing disney world

This past October 1st, $20,000 worth of attraction pieces went missing from a storage location behind Test Track in Epcot.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, a Disney Cast Member was doing inventory counts when he realized something was gone. When he went to look more into it he realized a set of sails used in Peter Pan’s Flight, a shell and three seats from Space Mountain were missing.

Peter Pan's Flight Closed

The materials attendant contacted the planning manager who notified the Orange County Sheriff’s Office the following day.

“None of the items taken have unique markings or serial items” said the report.

How the burglary occurred is still a mystery since the items were locked in a storage and there was fencing surrounded the shed.

Disney has declined to make any comments about it, calling it a law enforcement issue.

We are aware the black market for rare Disney props is a lucrative one, just earlier this year a similar case was investigated when a former cast member and his cousin stole items from the Haunted Mansion.

Disney Villains Take Over Animal Kingdom’s Animation Experience

Animation Experience Villains

This summer saw the reopening of Rafiki’s Planet Watch at Animal Kingdom with a few new enhancements that have had guests lining up to encounter the area. One of the standout experiences has certainly become The Animation Experience, which allows partakers to learn how to draw some of their favorite Disney characters (specifically from the Lion King), such as Zazu, Timon, and Pumbaa. The lessons are a step-by-step process that should leave everyone looking like a pro.

If you’ve already visited the Experience and found that Scar and Ed were your favorite drawing lessons, buckle up! Disney animal villains are next on the docket. As of October 18th, six of Disney and Pixar’s finest evil antagonists will be coming alive on visitors’ drawing pads. Lessons will include Bruce from Finding Nemo, Hopper from A Bug’s Life, ShereKhan from The Jungle Book, and Tic Toc from Peter Pan, as well as the aforementioned Scar and Ed from Lion King. You’re sure to pick up some scary drawing skills just in time for Halloween!

The Animation Experience is best enjoyed by older guests (although young ones may still put pencil to paper and have fun!) and fastpasses are currently available for reservation. If you were hoping to draw a hero and haven’t made it yet, make sure to head over before this villainous celebration begins. But if you’re a fan of all things evil, October looks like your time to shine! Let’s get drawing!

Update: Construction at the Epcot Tram Area

Update: Construction at the Epcot Tram Area

Lots of changes have been happening at Epcot lately. Guests have been told that major upgrades are coming to the park, and we have begun to see the signs of that promise throughout. On the inside, the “Leave a Legacy” monoliths have disappeared, Character Spot has moved, and entire walkways have been blocked off, just to mention a few.

Update: Construction at the Epcot Tram Area

On the outside, the tram loop has been under construction for several months now, with the promise that its completion will add room to the entrance of the park. The demolition and reconstruction has meant a portion of the parking lot has been sectioned off and guests have had to take the scenic route to get to bag check and the entrance. It has visitors hoping for a speedy end to the renovation and a quick return to the previously helpful tram system. So how’s it coming?

Update: Construction at the Epcot Tram Area

Large sections of pavement have already been laid down and it appears that the road for the tram is not far from done. The walkways into the park still have some work to do before completion, but they are wider than they were previously, which should definitely make entering Epcot less stressful!

Update: Construction at the Epcot Tram Area

Epcot is not the only park which is undergoing this type of major renovation at the parking lot/entrance; Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios have both seen similar changes recently. The bad news is that it makes all of them slightly less pleasant to get into, but the good news is that they’ll be easier and more accommodating than ever once they’re done. We can’t wait for that!

Brie Larson and Her Co-Stars are Rooting for an All-Female Marvel Movie

Brie Larson and Her Co-Stars are Rooting for an All-Female Marvel Movie

Brie Larson stated that the women of Marvel “passionately” want to create an all-female Marvel film. She also says that she has spoken to Marvel head, Kevin Feige, with her co-stars about it.

There was a moment at the end of “Avengers: Endgame” where Spider-Man is running away with Thanos’ gauntlet and he is knocked down. A very specific group rush to his rescue to help him up.

This group of women consisted of Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts, Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, and Danai Gurira’s Okoye. In an interview with “Variety”, Brie Lason says that she doesn’t want this scene to be a one-hit-wonder. She is looking for the females of Marvel to team-up.

“I will say that a lot of the female cast members from Marvel walked up to (Marvel Chief Kevin Feige) and we were like, We are in this together, we want to do this,” she said. “What that means, I have no idea. You know, I’m not in charge of the future of Marvel, but it is something that we’re really passionate about and we love and I feel like if enough people out in the world talk about how much they want it, maybe it’ll happen.”

Marvel is trending towards female protaganism with films like “Captain Marvel” and the new “Black Widow” that is set to premiere in May 2020. We also know that Natalie Portman will be returning in the “Thor” franchise to play the female version of Chris Hemsworth’s character. There will also be a Scarlet Witch series on Disney+ called “WandaVision” along with “She-Hulk” and “Ms. Marvel”.

With girl power ruling the Marvel scene, maybe we could see an all-female Marvel film within the next few years!

Disney Vacation Club Provides Aid for Dogs Affected by Hurricane Dorian in The Bahamas

Disney Vacation Club Provides Aid for Dogs Affected by Hurricane Dorian in The Bahamas

In the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian in The Bahamas, rescue efforts found 83 dogs and one cat in need of food and medical attention. The Humane Society of Grand Bahama formed a plan with H.A.L.O. No-Kill Rescue in Sebastian, FL to bring the rescued animals to Florida.

The animal shelter had desperate need of linens since all of the bedding materials were used up in the quarantine period after receiving the dogs. Disney responded to H.A.L.O.’s need for assistance with help for the animals. Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, a Disney Vacation Club Resort, and Walt Disney World Textile Services donated 600 pieces of linen in the form of blankets, sheets, and towels. A group of Disney VoluntEARS from Disney’s Vero Beach Resort both delivered the linens and provided care for the dogs.

H.A.L.O.’s Director of Development, Allyson Bootes, is thankful for Disney’s help and contributions. “We are so appreciative of the linen donation and the help we received from the Cast Members down the road at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort,” said Bootes. “We were in a critical period of need after the hurricane, and this support could not have come at a better time!”

For those interested, these pets are currently up for adoption and eager to move into a new home.

This is one of the many ways Disney is helping all those impacted by Hurricane Dorian. The Walt Disney Company donated $1 million to hurricane relief and recovery efforts in The Bahamas. Meanwhile, the Disney Cruise Line is using the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy to provide food, water, and supplies to points in Nassau and the Abacos. Disney Cruise Line is also giving support to its Bahamian-based Crew Members.

Kiosk To Replace Gelato Cart in Italy Pavilion

Gelato kiosk to replace cart

This month we will be saying goodbye to the gelato cart in the Italy pavilion of Epcot but that won’t be the last of the gelato. In its place will now be a kiosk. The kiosk will be able to serve more Disney foodies than ever before.

The kiosk will now be serving gelato and sorbet, 12 different flavors to be exact. This includes gluten-free options and plant-based flavors. As the calendar changes, so will the flavors. The kiosk will offer seasonal fruits that are grown locally.

Kiosk To Replace Gelato Cart in Italy Pavilion

To oversee this new kiosk, it will be operated by Patina Restaurant Group. This is the group that operates, Via Napoli Ristorante E Pizzeria and Tutto Italia Ristorante, which are already a part of the Italy pavilion.

Keep an eye on our social media for more updates on exact opening dates or other Disney announcements.

Disney Channel and A Place Called Home Inspire Young Latinx Women to “Discover Your Voice”

Disney Channel and A Place Called Home Inspire Young Latinx Women to “Discover Your Voice”

Earlier this week, Disney Channel hosted a very special screening, bringing a talented and impassioned group of young Latinx women, along with their families and special guests, to The Walt Disney Studios lot for the big-screen premiere of a short film created by these six high school students. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, and as part of Disney’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, the network invited them to produce a short film inspired by the theme “Discover Your Voice.”

Disney Channel discovered the young filmmakers through the nonprofit A Place Called Home (APCH), which provides a safe, nurturing environment with proven programs in arts, education and wellness for the young people in South Central Los Angeles to help them improve their economic conditions and develop healthy, fulfilling and purposeful lives. Jill Hotchkiss, Disney Channel’s vice president of Creative Marketing, was inspired by APCH and its students when she attended the nonprofit’s annual Girl Power Awards Luncheon earlier this year and a group of young women took the stage for a spoken word presentation that showcased their creativity and passion.

“The confidence that they had was so powerful,” she recalls. “The girls were so proud of themselves and so self-aware of their own strength, that I knew doing something with them would be powerful for our Disney Channel viewers.”

Disney Channel offered guidance and support to six selected APCH students—Edith Diaz, Fernanda Mauz, Angel Rubin, Daniela Santuario, Julie Vargas and Isabella Virgen—along with the prompt “Discover Your Voice.” APCH’s senior visual arts & digital media lead, Bernyce Tally, assisted the students as they explored the theme and determined that they wanted their film to showcase and inspire pride in all Hispanic cultures, give a voice to people who may not have one, and convey what being Latinx means to each of them. Their individual voices were also incorporated into the project, whether they chose to express themselves through art, music, dance or videography.

Disney Channel and A Place Called Home Inspire Young Latinx Women to “Discover Your Voice”

As the young women prepared to film and edit the short film completely on their own, Disney Channel provided professional mentors to visit APCH and help them take their ideas to the next level. Raquel Farinas, parade performer, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products; Dina DeLaRocha, talent development specialist, Radio Disney; and Dawn Solér, senior vice president of music, ABC Studios; were joined by actress and musician Kylie Cantrall. In addition to being a YouTube sensation, whose latest single has garnered more than 4 million views since its September 6 debut, Cantrall plays the title character in the new live-action comedy series Gabby Duran & the Unsittables, premiering on Disney Channel and in the DisneyNOW app on Friday, October 11 (9 p.m. ED/PT). And as a 14-year-old, she was able to connect with the APCH students as a peer.

“When Kylie came in and talked to the students, they were on fire,” Hotchkiss recalls. “They were so inspired by her, inspired by how young she is and that she has this amazing sense of self, as well as by her leadership.”

“They just had so much passion. I could tell they’re really driven and I’m so lucky to be able to help them and be a part of it,” says Cantrell, who has a strong affinity for her Venezuelan roots. “I’m just like them—just a teenage girl who is also Latinx who is getting to be on a Disney Channel show. I think it’s a cool thing for them to see themselves in what I’m doing.”

Disney Channel and A Place Called Home Inspire Young Latinx Women to “Discover Your Voice”

Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, Disney Channel has aired a series of interstitials produced by Hotchkiss’ team, led by Carlo Olivares Paganoni, that showcase the young women’s creative process as they worked with their mentors to produce the short, which incorporates Latin traditions, music and choreography and showcases diverse Hispanic cultures. “They did it themselves. That’s all generated by them,” Hotchkiss says. The first of the spots can be viewed below.

A collection of all five “Discover Your Voice” interstitials and the girls’ short film will be available at DisneyNOW.com/DiscoverYourVoice.

Hotchkiss is confident the students are proud of what they have created, and she hopes the girls from APCH come to recognize how their film may inspire other young people to discover their own voices. “That would be, for me, the win-win,” she says. “It’s not what we did—we’re the vessel for their creativity and their expression. And I hope that they reap the fruits of that labor.”
