Heritage Manor Gifts closes to Make Way for New Art of Disney Store

Heritage Manor Gifts closes to Make Way for New Art of Disney Store

Epcot continues to undergo many new changes.  Some are major and some a little more under the radar.  Recently Heritage Manor Gifts in the American Pavillion closed to become the new location for the Art of Disney Epcot location. Before this store has been the place to shop all kinds of American merchandise.  For now, the current location for the Art of Disney at the entrance to the park remains open.

We used to enjoy stopping in this shop to browse the small pieces representing US History.  Heritage Manor Gifts used to be the home of many eclectic and patriotic gifts.  Many of the merchandise has now been moved to a nearby outdoor kiosk.

As the sign on the door states, “Exciting changes are coming.” That seems to be an understatement for Epcot.  Stop by the Epcot Experience to check out all the great renovations and additions that are coming to the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.  Not too much is being transformed throughout the World Showcase. The area surrounding the American Adventure is one exception.

Pizza Planet Spirit Jersey

Pizza Planet Spirit Jersey Has Landed at Hollywood Studios

Get ready to blast off in style with the fun new Pizza Planet Spirit Jersey, now at Hollywood Studios! This bold jersey is inspired by the iconic restaurant from Toy Story. Pizza and aliens sounds like the perfect style combo to me!

Pizza Planet Spirit Jersey Has Landed at Hollywood Studios

This jersey has a bright red color, just like the restaurant’s iconic logo. Puffed ink spells out “Pizza Planet” across the back, with checks of white squares cascading down the right sleeve. The front also has a Pizza Planet logo, plus one of our Alien friends makes an appearance too.

Pizza Planet Spirit Jersey Has Landed at Hollywood Studios

Honestly, just look at how cute that little green face is! I love how crisp the white logos also contrast against the bright red too. You can find this Spirit Jersey at Hollywood Studios in sizes XS to XXL for $64.99.

If you love the Pizza Planet style, but won’t be making it to the parks, we have an option for you too! You can find a Pizza Planet Hype Jersey online now at BoxLunch.com! Hype Jerseys are very similar to Spirit Jerseys, but a different brand.

What do you think of this playful new Pizza Planet Spirit Jersey? Are there other movie locations you would like to see get their own Spirit Jersey designs?

TUESDAY, OCT. 22

“It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” – In Charles M. Schulz’s classic animated Halloween-themed PEANUTS special, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” the PEANUTS gang celebrates Halloween with Linus hoping that, finally, he will be visited by The Great Pumpkin, while Charlie Brown is invited to a Halloween party. SUNDAY, OCT. 27

“Bless This Mess” – “Scare Night” – Mike and Rio first met on Halloween years ago, so now Mike loves to commemorate the holiday by scaring the wits out of Rio all night. Unbeknownst to Mike, Rio actually hates the scares but is afraid to tell Mike. When Rio turns the tables on Mike and tries to scare him into ending Scare Night, Mike gets bitten by a bat and the night escalates from there.  (8:30-9:00 p.m.)

“mixed-ish”  “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” – The popular girls at school ask Rainbow to join their group Halloween costume as Tootie from “The Facts of Life.” She thinks this is finally her opportunity to fit in, but Denise views the situation differently. Meanwhile, Alicia doesn’t want the kids to go trick-or-treating after Harrison and his colleagues tell her about all the dangerous things that can happen. (9:00-9:30 p.m.)

“black-ish” – “Everybody Blames Raymond” – Halloween is around the corner and the Johnsons are definitely not seeing eye to eye on the family costume. The only thing they do agree on is that Jack’s new friend Raymond has got to go. Meanwhile, Junior wants Devante’s first trick-or-treating experience to be perfect. (9:30-10:00 p.m.)

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 30

“The Goldbergs” “A 100% True Ghost Story” – Beverly scores a bargain on four paintings. Once they make it home, she and Adam determine something supernatural is causing them to be destroyed. Their confrontation leads to a visit to the dean’s office. “Rocky Horror Picture Show” alum Barry Bostwick guest stars as Professor Majors. (8:00–8:30 p.m.)

“Schooled” – “Run, Rick, Run” – Coach Mellor is excited to celebrate Halloween in a couple’s costume with Julie, but his plan might be derailed by Principal Glascott’s faculty-parent dating rules. Meanwhile, CB uses “The Blair Witch Project” to attempt to scare the students into not tormenting each other during the school’s annual Halloween parade. (8:30-9:00 p.m.)

“Modern Family”  “The Last Halloween” – Phil is determined to finally scare Claire on Halloween. (9:00-9:31 p.m.)

“Single Parents” “Welcome to Hell, Sickos!”– It’s Halloween night at Hilltop Elementary and the kids head to the school for a spooky celebration with Douglas. Will struggles with whether he should stay with Sophie at the school party or if he should swing by his girlfriend Tracy Freeze’s birthday, which results in a stressful night for Will trying to do both. Meanwhile, Poppy and Angie throw a Halloween party for teens at Douglas’ house in order to try to prove to themselves that they are cool moms. (9:31-10:00 p.m.)

THURSDAY, OCT. 31

“General Hospital” – The whole town of Port Charles is gathered for the annual Metro Court Halloween party to celebrate. “Grey’s Anatomy” “Whistlin’ Past the Graveyard” – Alex is hoping to impress investors at Pac-Gen North, but when he hears disturbing news about skeletons on the construction site grounds, he enlists Richard to help with distraction tactics. Elsewhere, Jackson tends to a pediatric patient who is upset she is spending her Halloween in a hospital.  (8:00-9:01 p.m.)

“Jimmy Kimmel Live!”  Jimmy, Guillermo, Dicky, Cleto and the Cletones, and all of the show’s guests will be dressed for the occasion on an all-new episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The 14th Annual Half & Half Halloween Costume Pageant will be part of the evening’s festivities, where the show takes half of one costume and half of another, weaving them together to form one amazing hybrid costume. Past creations include Trumpty Dumpty, EmoJesus, and The Walking Bed, to name a few. “Walt Disney – Master of Dreamers: The Road to Epcot” to Play At Orlando Film Festival

“Walt Disney - Master of Dreamers: The Road to Epcot" Will Play At Orlando Film Festival

Walt Disney – Master of Dreamers: The Road to Epcot” Will Play At Orlando Film Festival!

Here is a brief synopsis of the film:

After the great success of Disneyland in California, Walt Disney took his dreams East and premiered four wonderful shows at the 1964/1965 New York World’s Fair. Until that point, people from the Eastern side of the states had never experienced the Disney magic that was showcased in California.

Walt Disney used the World’s Fair as a starting point and testing ground for his ride systems and audio animatronic technology needed for his most ambitious project. Disney secretly purchased 27,000 acres in central Florida and announced that they would be building an Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow or E.P.C.O.T.

Epcot would be a city where people would live in a new way that had never been seen before. Unfortunately, Walt Disney fell ill and quickly died of lung cancer before the project even began. Walt’s older brother, Roy, rallied the troops and moved on to create Walt’s dream in his legacy.

The film features a series of interviews with historians and the last living designers and engineers that worked with Walt Disney. It explores how Walt Disney World was created without Walt, why the company decided to abandon Walt’s vision for Epcot, and how Walt’s influence pushed the original imagineers to complete Walt Disney World even after he was gone.

Walt Disney – Master of Dreamers: The Road to Epcot will play on October 17th at 8pm and on October 24th at 6:45pm.

Guests Will Shoot Webs From Their Wrists on New Spider-Man Ride

Guests Will Shoot Webs From Their Wrists on New Spider-Man Ride

You will get to shoot webs from your wrists with immersive technology on the new Spider-Man ride coming to Disneyland!

Everyone who has watched or heard of Spider-Man has modeled the infamous web-firing move. Disney’s upcoming Spider-Man ride will give riders the same sensation thanks to new immersive technology! A few Imagineering executives at New York Comic Con revealed that the new technology will give guests the exact feeling of having Spider-Man’s web-shooters on their own wrists. They can put this talent to use as they wrangle a few Spider-bots that have gone rogue.

Marvel’s website posted a video of the recent panel at New York Comic Con where Scot Drake (a creative executive at Walt Disney Imagineering) explained a few more details about the new ride:

“When the mischief that Peter Parker gets in, where Spider-bots are released all over the [Avengers] campus, he needs all of our help. That’s where we step up, we get in these vehicles, and we go on this crazy adventure through all different parts of the campus cleaning up and slinging webs right next to Spider-Man.”

Another write-up from NYCC states that  “guests on the attraction will be able to shoot their own webs out of their wrists via immersive technology.” This technology is brand-new so we do not have any more details on how or why it works. Some have speculated that the ride will feature “shooters” Like Toy Story Mania or Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, but it seems like we will be experiencing something with the Spider-Man ride that has never been done before.

The Spider-Man ride is set to open at Disney California Adventure sometime in 2020 and at Disneyland Paris sometime in 2021
