The landscape of Haunted Mansion got a refresh and new details now adorn the site for dearly departed pets, representing their stories from beyond the grave. Inside, you’ll see new dastardly design embellishments along the portrait hallway including the “April to December” portrait.

Bringing the Magic of Animals and Nature use to be a hands-on experience for kids facing serious illness. Prior to the pandemic, Dr. Scott Terrell, director, Animals & Science Operations, and his animal care team visited AdventHealth for Children, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Nemours Children’s Hospital with animals such as rabbits, hedgehogs, and birds that brought joy and a welcomed distraction from treatments and the stress of a hospital stay. Disney Parks Blog gave us an update today on the new post-pandemic way they are now interacting with these same children.
Animal care experts would introduce children to these small animals and talk about how they sometimes receive medical care – similar to what they may go through during their experience – aimed to reduce their anxiety and show them the animals were in good hands, just like they would be.
The reimagined version of this program virtually connects the magic of nature to children through a series of new videos featuring animals found in our parks and important conservation messages. Then, one of our talented Animation Experience character artists leads them through a learn-to-draw experience of a beloved Disney character – like Dumbo and Simba – inspired by those same animals. With special donated sketch paper and comfort toys like Dumbo plush at their side, patients across Central Florida children’s hospitals are experiencing moments of joy and inspiration as they create their very own masterpieces featuring these adored Disney characters.
This new program – perfectly timed with our Earth Month celebrations – creatively combines our rich legacy of caring for the environment with our ongoing support in local children’s hospitals and helping to reimagine the patient experience. It’s safe to say that I am wild about the devotion and commitment our cast members have for sharing the magic of nature with everyone and inspiring kids, families, our own Disney cast and communities around the world to make the world a better place.

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings said in a press conference yesterday that the mask mandate could be relaxed this summer.
Demings previously stated that the mask mandate could be lifted by June but now it’s looking more like late summer. Physical distancing and temperature check guidelines could be lifted even earlier than the mask mandate.
Even if Orange County lifts the mask mandate and other COVID-related guidelines, private businesses like Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando make their own rules regarding masks and physical distancing. Disney World could end up keeping their COVID health and safety guidelines for some time.
Walt Disney World has started to relax some of their rules. Face masks can now be removed for photos while outside. You can watch Mayor Demings press conference below:

Today we are flying to Pandora – The World of Avatar to try some delicious Pongu Lumpia!
This tasty dessert that can be found at Pongu Pongu at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a must have during your visit to the park. Pongu Lumpia is inspired by a spring roll of Chinese origin, commonly found as a popular street food snack in Indonesia and the Philippines, and is traditionally a mixture of savory vegetables and chopped meat filling rolled in a spring roll wrapper.
At Disney, the Culinary Team created a version for Pandora – The World of Avatar with a sweet twist, a spring roll with cream cheese and dice pineapple! So good!
We have the recipe so you can recreate this yummy treat at home! Take a look:
PONGU LUMPIA
INGREDIENTS:
10 spring roll wrappers
1 (8oz) package of cream cheese, room temperature
2 cups of diced fresh pineaaple
1/2 cup of sugar, divided
Oil for frying
INSTRUCTIONS:
Line baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Carefully separate spring roll wrappers. Cover wrappers with moist paper towel to prevent drying.
Cut softened cream cheese into 10 equal pieces.
Place one spring roll wrapper on a cutting board. Place one piece of cream cheese in the center of the spring roll and spread evenly on wrapper, leaving a 3/4 inch boarder around the edges. Add 3 tbsp of diced pineapple and sprinkle with 1/2 tsp of sugar.
Roll one edge of the wrapper towards the center. Fold in both sides and continue rolling. Moisten the edge with water to seal the lumpia.
Repeat with remaining spring roll wrappers.
Place lumpia on prepared baking sheet and freeze for 4 hours or overnight.
Preheat 1 inch of oil in a frying pan to 350F. Fry lumpia for 3 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
Gordon Ramsay North America is excited to announce Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips is coming to Orlando’s ICON Park.
Slated for an August 2021 opening, Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips ICON Park will seat more than 30 guests with indoor and counter seating, with additional outdoor patio seating that overlooks ICON Park’s observation wheel, picturesque fountains and lawn.
“It was a real tradition for me growing up, so I’m excited to bring that nostalgia from my youth to Orlando, for all the residents that call the City Beautiful home and the millions of tourists that visit each year,” said Ramsay.
The fast-casual British-style eatery takes it to the next level with fresh, sustainable ingredients paired with hand-crafted shakes, fresh-squeezed lemonades and ice-cold domestic and import beers. The star of the show is the fish & chips.
Since Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips opened in Las Vegas in 2016, the restaurant has served over 750,000 fish & chips. Made with sustainable True Cod and coated with custard powder batter for the perfect golden crisp, the fish continues to be a standout menu item. The chips will be served “natural” with sea salt or “dirty” with truffle, parmesan and chives; chipotle, jalapeño and crisp chorizo; or bacon, cheddar cheese, green onions and sour cream. Alternatives like marinated shrimp with basil and lavender or chicken and chips will also be available, along with some seasonal specials and secret menu items.
The restaurant’s color scheme is reflective of the Union Jack with blue and red with industrial hardware touches. White subway tiles line the sleek kitchen space while an iconic red telephone box serves as the restaurant’s entrance and exit.
“Opening our first of many Fish & Chips outside of Vegas is a milestone for Gordon Ramsay North America. With Gordon’s passion for classic street food, we look forward to bringing Fish & Chips to other markets in the years to come,” said Norman Abdallah, CEO of Gordon Ramsay North America.
The restaurant will create over 30 jobs and is currently hiring for all full-time and part-time positions. Interested applicants should email their resumes to [email protected].
A popular interactive experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios now has a new price.
Savi’s Workshop inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has increased its price. The cost of the handbuilt lightsabers is now $219.99 at Savi’s Workshop, which is a $20 price increase.
Savi’s Workshop is packed with unusual parts and whimsical pieces collected from the far reaches of the galaxy. Guests construct a one-of-a-kind lightsaber and bring it to life through the power of a kyber crystal. Also, you can build your lightsaber along one of the following themes:
Peace and Justice – Utilize salvaged scraps of fallen Jedi temples and crashed starships in Republic-era lightsaber designs that honor the galaxy’s former guardians.
Power and Control – Originally forged by warriors from the dark side, objects used in this lightsaber style are rumored remnants from the Sith home world and abandoned temples.
Elemental Nature – Craft a lightsaber from special components born from the Force, such as Brylark trees, Cartusion whale bones or Rancor teeth.
Protection and Defense – Incorporate hilt materials bearing mysterious motifs and inscriptions that reconnect a lightsaber’s wielder with the ancient wellspring of the Force.
Have you ever been to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge? If you visit Black Spire Outpost, then you can check out Savi’s Workshop. However, you’ll need a reservation for the lightsaber experience. Let us know what you think of the place in the comments!
