Pennsylvania’s Twirl Dance Studio Hired Out of Work Disney Performers to Help During the Pandemic. Prior Disney Parks Performer and Twist Dance Studio Owner Sam Sinns was one of many small business owners who was directly affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic. Though Sinns was able to adapt to the changes needed to keep his business going, he knew he needed help and decided to reach out to furloughed Disney Parks performers and offer them a job at his studio.

Sam recently spoke with The Philadelphia Inquirer on the inspiration behind hiring fellow Disney performers, sharing: “I thought, ‘Why don’t I reach out to them first before I go anywhere else [to find job candidates] to see if they would be interested?’I knew they needed the work. They are like family to me, and my heart just went out to them.” Sam continued, “Pretty much everything I’ve needed came from the Disney performers, which was awesome. It’s just such a talented group of people, and they all had skills.”

Sinns’ plans for the studios included virtual/remote job offerings so the furloughed cast members didn’t even need to leave the Central Florida Area in order to hire them! Sam hired several cast members to do video editing, accounting, webmaster, and costuming for Twirl. One of his hires includes Charles Stevens who helped Sam with some much needed video presentation and editing for the studio.

“Since you couldn’t have full classes together [because of social distancing], you would edit one half of the kids and then edit the other half and make it look like they were all together,” Stevens continued, “There is a bond because we both understood the process, and there is a level of respect and understanding. We were able to hit it off easily.”

Sam Sinns himself was a WDW Cast Member for 10 years and was even a part of the 2006 opening cast for Finding Nemo The Musical at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Sinns and his family moved to PA in 2016 where he opened Twirl Dance Studio. Twirl currently hosts approximately 315 dance students ranging in age from 3-years old to adults.

“It’s totally mutually beneficial,” he shared with TPI, “I really needed people to help. That I could line it up with my friends and coworkers at Disney? It’s been awesome.”

Pixar Soul Short “22 Vs Earth” Coming Soon To Disney+

Ever wonder what new soul 22 has against Earth in Disney and Pixar’s hit 2020 feature film “Soul”? A new short from Pixar Animation Studios revisits the skeptical soul long before she ever met Joe Gardner. Debuting on Disney+ on April 30, “22 vs. Earth” welcomes Tina Fey back to The Great Before as the voice of quick-witted and sarcastic soul 22.

Set before the events of “Soul,” the original short is directed by 21-year Pixar veteran Kevin Nolting. “While making ‘Soul,’ we talked about the why of a new soul not wanting to live on Earth, but it didn’t ultimately belong in that movie,” said Nolting. “‘22 vs. Earth’ was a chance to explore some of the unanswered questions we had about why 22 was so cynical. As a fairly cynical person myself, it felt like perfect material.”

In the short, 22 defies the rules of The Great Before and refuses to go to Earth, enlisting a gang of five other new souls in her attempt at rebellion. However, as her cohorts’ activities lead to unexpected results, 22’s subversive plot may actually lead to a surprising revelation about the meaning of life.

“I think the new souls make the short so fun—the contrast of their pure innocence and delight with the cynical expectations of 22,” said Nolting. “The other new souls are what 22 once was before she took another path—purely innocent, blank slates to be guided by the counselors in their mostly uneventful journey to the earth portal. 22 sees an opening in that and attempts to guide them herself into her way of thinking.”

Neil Patrick Harris Says He’ll Visit the Disney Parks with his Kids “Until They Can’t Stand Him Anymore.” If you follow him on social media, it comes as no surprise that Neil Patrick Harris is a HUGE Disney fan, and recently shared with People that he plans on bringing his kids to visit the Disney Parks with his family “until they can’t stand him anymore.”

Harris shared with People, “Our kids have grown up appreciating and valuing not only the amusement rides, but the architecture and the Imagineering that goes on, both in front and behind the scenes. So I still look back on how that has been an important part of their lives and I can’t wait to continue it until they can’t stand me anymore.”

NPH and his family visit Walt Disney World every year at Christmastime so the famed actor and singer can narrate the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT. Neil brings in huge crowds for the event and is a fan favorite narrator for Candlelight. The whole family, including Neil’s husband David Burtka and their twins Harper Grace and Gideon Scott, love to visit the resorts and all the WDW Parks during their stay, and it seems the Burtka-Harris clam doesn’t plan on cancelling that annual trip any time soon.

James Gunn shares update for Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind

Movie director James Gunn has some exciting news for Disney fans! The director will be starting film work on the third installment of Guardians of the Galaxy later this year. However, Disney is currently working on a roller coaster based on the movie franchise as well. James Gunn recently went on Twitter to mention how he itinerary plans for filming scenes for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. So Disney fans can expect to see new footage of familiar Marvel characters on the upcoming attraction!

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is an upcoming indoor roller coaster at Epcot. The attraction is being constructed on the site of the former Universe of Energy attraction. It’s the first Marvel Comics themed attraction for Walt Disney World.

The ride is based on the popular MCU Guardians of the Galaxy movie series. It’s a roller coaster with vehicles capable of rotating a full 360 degrees. Another unique feature of the roller coaster is that it will launch backwards! Guests will enjoy launching backwards into space while joining the Guardians crew on their mission. Saving the galaxy with Marvel superheroes will be a fun new adventure for guests at Epcot!

Many fans are looking forward to seeing a new attraction featuring cosmic heroes such as Star-Lord, Rocket Raccon, and Groot. We will provide more information on the development of the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction when it becomes available.

Self-serve beverage stations are now available at Disney World again!

Disney has just released an update for guests visiting Walt Disney World. Disney is relaxing the COVID-19 Guidelines to allow guests to use self-service stations to fill their refillable mugs and beverages again!

Here is the official word:

Some self-serve beverage stations—which allow for Guests to fill and refill their own beverages—are available at select quick-service restaurants located in Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Resort hotels. Locations may vary.

Self-serve beverage stations are now available at Disney World again!

It should be noted that while this is new at most Disney World locations, Blizzard Beach when it reopened last month allowed guests to use self-service stations to fill their refillable mugs and beverages.

The Orange County Mayor thinks Mask Mandate could be lifted this summer and Disney World happens to reside in Orange County. We are excited to see Disney World going back to normal.

Pixar Announces Casting Search for Their First Transgender Role. Per a casting director for the studio, Disney-Pixar is looking to cast their first official transgender role for an upcoming and yet to be named project. The news was first shared via Trans March on Twitter which read: “We have confirmed this is legit, so share away!”

Trans March followed it up with a second tweet that shared, “Sorry folks, we should have been more specific with how we know this is real. We talked to the casting director and they sent us this flyer. They’re reaching out to other orgs as well, but we got the sense we’re the first to post about it.”

This will be the first openly trans character for the animation studio, but it is currently unknown if the upcoming project will be a short film, feature film, or animated Disney+ series. As they have always done, it seems Pixar is looking to branch out and showcase yet another project that explores the depths of the human experience and as promised, is looking to feature more stories about LGBTQ+ characters.

This week, singer and songwriter Lizzo shared that she reached out to actor Chris Evans with a flirty drunk DM on Instagram and not only did Evans begin following her social media, he responded to her directly! Lizzo fangirled hard over this exchange and shared her reaction with her followers via TikTok.

Though she hid her private message, she shared Chris’ response that said: “No shame in a drunk DM ? god knows I’ve done worse on this app lol ??‍♂️” seemingly referring to his leaked nude photo last Fall.

According to social media reports, it seems Evans has been exploring the dating pool lately, but hasn’t shared that he is in an established relationship. Back in 2019, Chris shared with THR why he preferred being single at the time, stating: “I’m the one who fears being enveloped. I was always a really autonomous guy my whole life. Camping by myself is one of my favorite things. I really like to be with someone who also has their own thing to do as well, you know? If I’m with someone who just kind of adopts my life, that can feel a bit suffocating.”

The NFL draft kicks off this month, and Disney is celebrating with a new collection featuring Mickey, Marvel, and Star Wars! The new Disney NFL Gear is a fun and magical way for fans to celebrate their favorite football teams! With their favorite characters of course!

This collection is a collaboration with NFL and Junk Food Clothing! It is also available now at NFLShop.com, NFL team retail locations, and on-site at the NFL Draft in Cleveland.

Each team has a shirt in a Marvel, Star Wars, and Mickey style! The tees have a vintage football shirt look to them, with a little bit of character flair. The Mickey tees showcase Mickey dressed up in uniform, while the Marvel t-shirt has the Avengers assembled. The Star Wars style is strong with the Dark Side of the Force featuring Darth Vader and Storm Troopers.

Get ready Harry Potter fans, the largest flagship Harry Potter store is set to open in New York on June 3rd. The three floor, 21,000 sq. ft building will house the largest collection of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts products under one roof. Inside, fans will find 15 different theme areas with magical elements — many of which aren’t available at any other location — including an interactive wand table where you can take your wand on a test run.

“We at Warner Bros. are in a very uniquely privileged position to work directly with the filmmakers,” Durrant reveals, though he wouldn’t specify who they worked with. “Thanks to this collaboration, we’re bringing authentic props that come directly from the films and also authentic recreations. From the Harry Potter films, you’ll be able to find Harry’s authentic wand on display, as well as Ron’s, Hermoine’s, and Dumbledore’s wands. We have the original Golden Snitch, Harry’s broomstick, Tom Riddle’s diary with a basilisk’s fang in the middle of it, and many other items.”

The new Harry Potter themed store is also gearing up to have two virtual reality rooms. “We have two virtual reality experiences will be able to reveal more about soon,” he shares. “One will take you on a journey around Hogwarts called ‘Chaos at Hogwarts’ and another that will put you on a broomstick where you can fly over the River Thames in London called ‘Wizards Take Flight.'”

More Magic Kingdom quick service locations being added to Mobile Order

Starting today more Magic Kingdom Quick Service Restaurants have been added to mobile ordering on the My Disney Experience App.

Three new locations have been added today:

Sunshine Tree Terrace
The Friar’s Nook
and Sleepy Hollow Refreshments

Whether you’re waiting to hop on an attraction, strolling through a land or find yourself directly in front of a restaurant you’d like to try, Disney makes it easy for you to order, pay for and pick up fresh food throughout Walt Disney World Resort. All you need is your phone and the My Disney Experience app.

Mobile Order service is available at most Disney operated quick service restaurants at the theme parks, resort hotels and Disney Springs.

Disney's Polynesian Resort Monorail Station is taking shape

The refurbishment continues at one of Disney World’s monorail resorts! Disney’s Polynesian Resort is undergoing a massive change and the construction is showing quite a difference already. The now have new roof crossbeams above the Great Ceremonial House. Guests can even see that the Polynesian Resort Monorail Station is coming along nicely as part of the ongoing construction work.

Adding new roof crossbeams is simply part of the overall construction project at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. The future will be delightful with the Moana design!

Changes to the rooms will include a move to a Pacific Ocean-inspired color palette as well as details, patterns, and textures from Disney’s “Moana,” that takes place on the Polynesian island of Motunui.

As they continue to reopen additional Disney Resort hotels to Guests, the company is modifying the reopening date for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, which will reopen next summer.
