Disney Cruise Line Sailing will require Covid test and Vaccination

Disney Cruise Line Sailing will require Covid test and Vaccination

Disney Cruise Line is set to resume sailing this summer in the UK. The Disney Magic will take 2, 3, and 4-night staycation sailings exclusive to UK residents.

Guests on these sailings will remain on the ship for the whole cruise. The ship will not stop at any ports of call, hence the name “staycation”.

Disney has released more information regarding the health and safety measures that will be taken on these cruises, including vaccination requirements.

Disney Cruise Line Sailing will require Covid test and Vaccination

Per the Disney Cruise Line website, “Guests will be required to meet health and safety requirements, including COVID-19 testing and full COVID-19 vaccination for adults 18 years of age and older.”

All guests ages 18 and older will need to be fully vaccinated and guests under 18 will need to have a negative COVID-19 test result between 5 and 24 hours prior to sailing. Disney will contact guests prior to their cruise to let them know how to show proof of vaccination.

Also prior to boarding, all guests will be required to undergo an antigen COVID-19 rapid test in the terminal. Anyone that tests positive will take a second test to confirm the results. If the second test is positive, that guest and everyone in their party will not be allowed to board.

Booking for these UK cruises is set to open April 28th for Golden Oak Club Members, April 29th for Disney Vacation Club Members and Adventures by Disney Insiders, and April 30th for the general public.

Visiting the Newly Opened Cast Co-Op near Disney World

Newly Opened Cast Co-Op

Newly Opened Cast Co-Op is an eye-opening experience for a few reasons. First, it is awesome to see our local community come together for a common cause. Second, it is amazing to see how talented people can be. We got a chance to check out the new Cast Co-op at 16744 Cagan Crossings Blvd Clermont, FL 34714, and get a grand tour around the facilities and be introduced to some of the vendors selling their wares by Steve Wilcox the head of marketing for Cast Co-op. Check out the Instagram video below of our talk.

Cast Co-op is an off-shoot of the Ear For You inc. the non-profit group. They have opened a storefront in Clermont, FL, minutes from Walt Disney World resorts. Cagan Crossing is just off 192 on 27. The store itself is well laid out and features 2 sides. One side is for the vendors, the other side and a very important part of this whole endeavor is for supporting local Hospitality workers who may be in need called the Cast Co-op Commissary. This means any Cast member, Team member, Hotel worker, cook, custodians, wait staff, basically if you are in the hospitality business in central Florida and need help, please reach out.

Food pantry

All hospitality workers affected by financial hardship are invited to complete an online eligibility form. You can be as private as you want during the whole process. They will bring stuff directly to your car if you so want.

If you wish to help in anyway, here is a small list of how you can do it.

  • Donations
  • Volunteering
  • Spread the Word to those who may need help
  • If you are visiting Disney or Universal or any local Attraction, take a moment and visit
  • Buy some of the vendors goods
  • Are you talented? Become a vendor

Also, for those with pets and are struggling, there is help from Hospitality Pets In Need who have a booth set up and can be emailed by clicking the link.

Local artists

The vendor side of the newly opened Cast Co-Op reminded me why I failed in art school. There is some amazing talent selling some well-thought-out stuff. From masks to ceramic tiles, hand sanitizers, woodworkings, coasters, stickers, lotions, and tie-dyed shirts to baked goods and everything in between. Check out the photos to see some of the work being sold.

more of the artists

We all know things are starting to pick up locally. Cast members are getting callbacks, Disney is Hiring, restaurants are hiring. This is wonderful and is giving many of us hope. But…

… People still are in need though. We still need to come together to help out all those who go out of their way to make our time at the parks magical! Let us return some of the magic back to them. This is my home, these are my people. These people who work the Parks are our lifeblood. We need you, and we need your help.

Look at those photos, look at those amazing artists and see the faces behind the magic! These are the faces of triumph, they never gave up. They did not ask to lose a job, but when they did they took it as it came and made something out of it. We have some beautiful new art in this world because of them!

You can see most of these vendors on Ear for Each Other Facebook group.

White Castle near Disney World

It’s almost time for those iconic little burgers to make their Orlando debut. Fast food places tend to do well in a city buzzing with families on the go, filling up after late nights at the theme parks, or grabbing a quick bite in between park hopping. But while City Beautiful may have a plethora of restaurants, and is already known for a big castle, we’ve still been missing another castle: White Castle. But fear not, the White Castle near Walt Disney World is nearing completion, and we have almost reached the opening date!

Now that their enormous restaurant is opening, we’re sure they’ll see plenty of business. A new policy is coming for Walt Disney World as a way to free up Park Pass Reservations. Recently we shared the news how Park Pass Reservations are pretty much full through June, while I am sure most are valid there are some who maybe wanted to reserve a possible date like Mother’s Day or even the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary but do not have a valid admission.

Click here to read an update on Park Pass Reservation Cancellations along with a sample email

These Adorable Stitch Pajamas Are Surfing With Style

Stitch Pajamas
Stitch Pajamas

Surf into sweet dreams with these absolutely adorable Stitch Pajamas! I might have squealed a bit when I saw them at my local Primark store this weekend too. There are a few different styles, and each piece is just $12.00, so they’re super affordable too!

Stitch Pajamas

I found a nightgown shirt, a tank set, as well as a matching pajama top, and pants. Everything had soft blues and pinks, just like our favorite cuddly Alien himself.

I really loved the tank and shorts sleep set. It says “The Perfect Wave” and the shorts have a cute pink tropical flower print!

Stitch Pajamas

The nightgown is a long over-sized shirt, with Stitch doing the hula! It also says Ohana, which is so classically Stitch.

Stitch Pajamas

The mix and match night-shirt and PJ pants were also a lot of fun. You could get them as a set, or pair them with other pajama separates for a different look. I bet this set would also mix and match well with the tank and short set from above too! Now, all we need is one of our Stitch Crashes Disney plushies and we’re ready to surf into sweet dreams!

Disney World hiring for Attractions, Custodial, Merchandise, and more!

Disney World hiring

Disney World hiring is an amazing article we get to write! After all the bad news of the layoffs and furloughs. Many of our friends and family members did not know if they would ever get the callback. At the height of the layoffs, Josh D’Amaro announced a total of 28,000 cast members had lost work! In the Orlando area, a total of 179,000 jobs may have been lost due to covid in 1 year!

We are so happy to hear the stories of so many being hired again. Trust me, we have been following a lot of the Facebook groups of Cast members. We have also heard directly from many Cast members who have received the call-back email. Now we get to share with you some job openings for Walt Disney World Resort. Please click the link below if you wish to apply.

“As Cast Member working in either Attraction, Custodial, Merchandise, or Quick Service Foods you will have opportunities to create memories across property working locations unique to the Walt Disney World® Resort Parks and Resorts.”

This is great news for us in the Orlando area! How many of us have had to go to a food pantry giveaway, or rely on friends and family members while waiting for unemployment? How many of y’all volunteered? Well, it looks like the grey sky is clearing a little.
