James Gunn shares update for Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind

Movie director James Gunn has some exciting news for Disney fans! The director will be starting film work on the third installment of Guardians of the Galaxy later this year. However, Disney is currently working on a roller coaster based on the movie franchise as well. James Gunn recently went on Twitter to mention how he itinerary plans for filming scenes for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. So Disney fans can expect to see new footage of familiar Marvel characters on the upcoming attraction!

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is an upcoming indoor roller coaster at Epcot. The attraction is being constructed on the site of the former Universe of Energy attraction. It’s the first Marvel Comics themed attraction for Walt Disney World.

The ride is based on the popular MCU Guardians of the Galaxy movie series. It’s a roller coaster with vehicles capable of rotating a full 360 degrees. Another unique feature of the roller coaster is that it will launch backwards! Guests will enjoy launching backwards into space while joining the Guardians crew on their mission. Saving the galaxy with Marvel superheroes will be a fun new adventure for guests at Epcot!
