New Logo Unveiled for Disneyland Paris for Disney’s Hotel New York- The Art Of Marvel

On the morning of January 6, 2019, Disneyland Paris revealed the new logo for the highly anticipated Disney’s Hotel New York- The Art of Marvel as the hotel closed its doors for the last time until Summer 2020. “Opening summer 2020, it will infuse the dynamic, inspiring art world of Super Heroes including Iron Man, The Avengers, and Spider-Man among others, to the elegant and vibrant Big Apple atmosphere.”-Disney

Disney’s Hotel New York first opened its doors alongside Disneyland Paris Park over 25 years ago. Since 1992, this hotel designed by famed architect Michael Graves has invited millions of guests to experience New York’s culture first hand. After one last celebration to celebrate the hotel’s history, this hotel will reopen in 18 months after undergoing an epic transformation.

Disney’s Hotel New York- The Art of Marvel will maintain the nod to the Big Apple but will represent a different aspect of New York. A more luxurious and contemporary feel will replace the hotel’s current Art Deco theming. Sleek and modern, similar to Stark Tower or the Avengers Headquarters, the hotel will showcase the “Art of Marvel” in an entirely reimagined way.

“When it re-opens, the Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel will evoke the contemporary sophistication of the city that was the birthplace of the Marvel Super Heroes, and the scriptwriters and artists who created them. So the renovation of Disney’s Hotel New York is based on an environment inspired by the luxurious and contemporary buildings of Manhattan!” says Sylvia Massara, Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering. “The refined and cosmopolitan interior decor will evoke the neighbourhoods of the Avengers and will display “The Art of Marvel” in public spaces. “Comic art” posters, sketches, videos, storyboards, sculptures, and costumes are the many examples of the Art of Marvel that will be included in the hotel’s overall decor, just like a contemporary art gallery in Chelsea.”

The hotel will offer 476 standard rooms, 65 executive, 15 themed suites, 8 standard suites, and 2 presidential suites. “The interior decor of the bedrooms will be inspired by the urban contemporary and sophisticated style of Tony Stark, with a range of colours and finishes evoking Iron Man! The themed suites will be inspired by the world of Spider-Man and the Avengers, whilst the “standard” and presidential suites will have a more neutral decor in order to welcome our Convention clientele. As in the rooms, limited editions of the Art of Marvel will decorate the hotel’s walls, as if they were exhibited in an art gallery,” shared Sylvia Massara.

This next chapter for the hotel unites the spirit of New York with the charisma of your favorite Avengers characters. Coming together uniquely through art and design, Disney’s Hotel New York- The Art of Marvel reopens in the Summer of 2020.

New Menu Coming To Backlot Express In Preparation Of Galaxy’s Edge

This is not a trap. Starting January 7th, the Backlot Express is getting a revamped menu seemingly in preparation for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This quick service dining restaurant has previously been known for their Star Wars themed menu. Many of these menu items will no longer be available. Before you go over to the dark side in outrage, crowd favorites like the Royal Guard burger and Galactic salad are sticking around but will be renamed. I also have hope that Star Wars themed food is not going too far, far away. I suspect it will soon be found again in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge later in 2019.

Located in the Echo Lake region of Hollywood Studios, Backlot Express will also be introducing new entrees that are more in line with the theming of this area of the park. New menu offerings include a Cuban Sandwich and a Chicken and Biscuits entree. Comprised of crispy chicken strips sandwiched between flaky biscuits, topped with a creamy gravy and good ol’ bacon pieces, this dish will indeed be ‘good eating’.

New Sneak Peek at Toy Story 4

We’ve got another sneak peek of Toy Story 4, revealing the return of a fan favorite! The image of a promotional Pixar calendar from Russia, shows Sheriff Woody and Buzz, together with their new pal Forky the Spork. However, it’s the appearance of the fourth character in the group that’s caught the attention of Toy Story Fans. Little Bo Peep is back!

Bo Peep, Woody’s on-again-off-again love interest for the first two movies, seemed to disappear for the third installment of the films. Woody even mentions her as one of the many toys that they’ve “lost” along the way. However, it seems Bo Peep as reemerged for Toy Story 4, and with a new look to boot. Hopefully, we get more information on what happened to her as the release date nears.

Pixar gave us the first glimpse of the new film back in November. The teaser trailer introduces the newest character, Forky the spork, voiced by Tony Hale. According to the film’s director, Josh Cooley, Forky is facing an identity crisis in the new film. He wants to fulfill his role as a utensil, but he’s been given a new purpose being reimagined into a toy. Additional new characters include Ducky and Bunny, voiced by comedy duo Key & Peele. No doubt, hilarity, and heroics will ensue.

I can’t wait for this movie! Toy Story 4 is slated for release on June 21, 2019.

This all beef hot dog is topped with a scoop of barbecue pulled pork, creamy coleslaw and finished with a drizzle of barbecue sauce.

Casey’s Corner participates in the Disney Dining Plan and takes one quick service credit for an entrée and drink. Barbecue Pork not your thing? Disneyland Resort Raised 2019 Ticket and Annual Pass Prices Overnight

Disneyland Resort quietly raised their 2019 Annual Passport and Park ticket prices overnight. Considering all of the upcoming changes to the park with the addition of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and soon to be named Avengers themed land, we are not surprised by this increase.

The Disney parks around the world continue to bring up state of the art entertainment and completely immersive experiences we have grown to love. With these updates come increased ticket prices.

Deluxe was $729 and is now $799
Signature was $999 and is now $1149
Signature Plus was $1149 and is now $1399
Premier was $1579 and is now $1949(the largest hike)

The Polynesian Maui Ornament Is A Fabulous Vacation Keepsake

Over Christmas this year I got the amazing experience of being able to stay at the Polynesian Village Resort. Being as it’s one of my favorites, I was excited to bring home a keepsake of this beautiful vacation. Having seen the Polynesian Maui Ornament at a preview in July, I knew this was the keepsake for me!

Unfortunately it was all sold out while I was there! Fortunately though, it has returned!

The ornament features a figural design of the infamous Maui carved statute that greets you in the Ceremonial House lobby of the Polynesian. This little guy not only looks just like that statute, it also lights up! I really love extra features like that, so this was a must have for me. He’s available at the downstairs gift shop for $24.99. Not only is he great for adding to the Christmas tree, this cute little guy makes a great year round figure for those who love “The Poly”.

There’s no telling how long this little guy will stick around, so if he’s a must have for you, don’t delay on picking one up!

Sandy Hook Promise and The Walt Disney Company Become Partners

On January 3, 2019, The Walt Disney Company became a proud supporter of Sandy Hook Promise’s program, Start With Hello. This program helps to eliminate social isolation in elementary schools. Because of this partnership, Sandy Hook Promise will now be able expand this program tremendously. The Walt Disney Company will work directly with the spreading of the new curriculum and digital platform. The program is for grades K-5. In its first three year, the program will be provided for 2.8 million youth and adults from 6,000 school and youth organizations.

The Sandy Hook Promise is very dear to Nicole Hockley, co-founder and managing director of the program. Her son, Dylan, was killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary Shooting. She is thrilled The Walt Disney Company will be helping bring Start With Hello programs across the country. There is huge demand for its training in elementary schools. Furthermore, this donation brings it to life. The earlier we can make social isolation obsolete, the better. Elementary schools are the perfect place to start.

Sandy Hook Promise and The Walt Disney Company are both committed to focusing on the development, leadership, and empowerment of youth programs. Furthermore, their mission is create a lasting inclusive school community. This program is available to schools at no-cost. They have proven results and the program is easy to implement.

Elissa Margolis, the senior vice president of Enterprise Social Responsibility for The Walt Disney Company brings encouragement to this partnership. “We know that being a young student isn’t always easy..The Walt Disney Company Becomes Supporter of Sandy Hook Promise. We are thrilled that our donation will go directly towards expanding this great program to reach young children during such formative years.”

‘Jumanji’ Sequel Adds Danny DeVito to Star With Dwayne Johnson

Sony Pictures has just announced Danny DeVito will join the cast of the sequel to the hit film, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.” I couldn’t be more thrilled! DaVito will star beside the returning cast member Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan. Jake Kasdan is come back as the director.

“Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” brought in $962 million worldwide. The movie featured four teenagers transferring into Jumanji, a world unknown. They become adults when they step into Jumanji, as a result. This movie features a video game instead of a board game, which the original movie of 1995 and book shared with us. The original starred Robin Williams in an epic role.

Unfortunately, these are all the details I have. The plot and DeVito’s character are being kept a secret, for now.

In addition, Dwayne Johnson says, “The magic of ‘Jumanji’ is who becomes who. And the idea of Danny DeVito joining our cast was too irresistible and something we knew we wanted to deliver to our audience this upcoming Christmas. Dwanta Claus loves everyone.” -Variety

Matt Tolmach, Johnson’s Seven Bucks, and Kasdan are producing the pic and banner. Kasdan, Scott Rosenberg, and Jeff Pinkner mastered the script.

Above all, it is amazing the success DeVito has had! He is in his fifth decade of show business! He continues to appear in the FX show “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” which began it’s 13th season this past fall. For Disney, DeVito will star in two movies, in 2019. For instance, he begins the year with Tim Burton’s live-action, “Dumbo.” DeVito plays Max Medici, the ringmaster. He will then star in “The One and Only Ivan,” also Disney’s. DeVito is repped by CAA.

I have no doubt the ‘Jumanji’ sequel will be just as amazing as the original and “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.”

New Details: A Super Celebration with Pixar Friends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Beginning January 18th, join everyone’s favorite superheroes and monsters at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as part of the 30 years of Hollywood Celebration for a super celebration with Pixar Friends. With four new incredible experiences and a monster meet and greet there is something for every member of the family.

First, find yourself in Metroville on a Municiberg city block and head on over to meet Edna Mode at her pop-up gallery. While waiting to take your own photo with your best Edna pose you can examine her original designs of super suits. Be sure to take note of her sketches, awards, and accolades to make the proper remarks when you meet her.

After meeting Edna, it is time to help find Jack-Jack. It’s never a surprise that Jack-Jack has gone missing, but he needs to be found. During this street party, you’ll be able to see his powers in action as you find different experiences to interact with. Start doing thumb exercises now and be ready to share the fun on social media. There is a unique hashtag just for this event.

What’s a party without great food and drinks? Run on over the Neighborhood bakery and nosh on favorite snacks including the Num Num Cookie, and Mrs. Incredible’s Mask with Cheese. Feeling a little hungrier? For a more satisfying bite try the Hero Sandwich to build your superhero muscles.

Feeling the need to take home proof of your Incredible time? Municiberg Gifts has you covered with all types of merchandise. Whether it is a shirt to wear, a hat to cover your superhero hair, or a toy for the tykes be sure to grab a super souvenir.

Round out your visit to Metroville with The Super Shindig. Bev, otherwise known as the incredibly Nice Community Chair is hosting this interactive party. Be ready to learn some incredible new dances, play games, and be star-struck when you meet the Supers. Frozone, Elastigirl, and last but certainly not least Mr. Incredible will be making appearances.

Located at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, scoop up the new limited-edition Vanellope’s Ice Cream Sundae for $24.99 before it’s gone. The massive sundae includes five scoops of ice-cream, whipped cream, fruity cereal, chocolate candy, hot fudge, and cherries. Similar to the Kitchen Sink found at Beaches & Cream at Disney’s Boardwalk, you’re going to need some friends to tackle this tasty treat as well.

Grab some spoons and dig in! Pit stop number one, the ice-cream. Choose up to 5 flavors that the Parlor has to offer (chocolate, vanilla, mint chocolate chip, strawberry, and cookies ‘n cream).
