Deliciously Adorable Danielle Nicole Disney Snack Purses

Danielle Nicole Disney Snack Purses

Deliciously Adorable Danielle Nicole Disney Snack Purses

I’ve long been a fan of Disney snacks, and Mickey shaped treats. I’m also always excited to find Disney inspired food items incorporated into fashion, like the new Donut Ears and Snack Alex and Ani Bangles released this month. It looks like we can add Danielle Nicole Disney Snack Purses to the assortment of delicious style treats now available too!

Deliciously Adorable Danielle Nicole Disney Snack Purses

The new handbags inspired by Disney foods come in two tasty varieties. Both bags are die-cut so they not only have yummy designs, but are also in the actual shape of these fun treats. There are two shapes to choose from a slice of pizza, or a donut. The pizza shaped crossbody is covered in sparkly Mickey shaped pepperonis! I absolutely love the layered fabrics that give it a more dimensional look, especially the “cheese” layer that looks like it is melting over the edge. The Donut purse has a sassy Minnie touch to it, with her signature red bow contrasting perfectly with the glittery white “frosting” and sprinkles.

I love both, and I think I might just have to add the Minnie Donut one to my collection! Which of these Danielle Nicole Disney Snack Purses is your favorite?

Epcot International Festival of the Arts Map 2019

Epcot International Festival of the Arts Map 2019

The Epcot International Festival of the Arts debuts today (Friday, January 18th, 2019) at Epcot.  We’re getting a glimpse of the updated park map featuring all of the festival offerings around the park. Check out the full passport to see all of the fun offerings at the fesitval this year!

Notable additions to the festival map are the featured Disney on Broadway nightly performances at 5:30pm, 6:45pm and 8pm.  The festival center will be in the Odyssey Building this year, located in the space between Test Track and the Mexico Pavilion.  This is a change from previous years, where the festival center had been held in Wonders of Life building in Future World.  Given the construction of the Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster, as well as the new space-themed restaurant near Mission: Space, it’s been moved to accommodate the construction.  The Festival Showplace will be home to the Animation Academy, festival seminars, workshops, the Painter’s Palate, and the Festival Marketplace.

Festival of the Arts Map

Epcot’s International Festival of the Arts takes place starting today, January 18th and will run through February 25th.  Guests are invited to explore numerous offerings that celebrate the visual, culinary and performing arts.  Artists travel from all over the world to showcase their art every year.  Popular chefs whip-up unique food items that stretch the limit of cuisine, and Broadway stars entertain on a nightly basis with some of Disney’s classic musical numbers.

Festival of the Arts Map

Special experiences and workshops are also available for those wanting to get a “hands-on” experience.  You can paint with a Disney Artist, learn animation techniques, and learn to “Eat Like Walt”.  There’s so much to see and do! The festival makes a great addition to any visit to Epcot this time of year. What’s your favorite festival activity?

Disney Cruise Line Enters New Agreement with Port of Galveston

Disney Cruise Line Enters New Agreement with Port Galveston

The Port of Galveston just announced that it has entered into a new 10-year agreement with the Disney Cruise Line. Under this new agreement, the port will extend preferential berthing rights to the company. In addition, the deal includes the option to renew for two more 5-year periods.

What’s exciting about this agreement is the included plan for a new terminal. The terminal will be able to accommodate larger ships than the Disney Wonder and Magic class vessels. This new location should also be able to handle more ships. There are plans for Disney to double its sailings in the first 5 years of the new arrangement. Disney Cruise Line began its sailings from the port in 2012 with the Disney Wonder’s maiden voyage. The Wonder and the Magic have used the Texas harbor as their seasonal homeport since.

“Our guests have loved visiting Galveston and setting sail from this historic port to the western Caribbean, Key West, and the Bahamas. As we plan to expand our fleet and introduce new experiences and entertainment aboard our ships, we couldn’t be more excited to extend our commitment with the Port of Galveston.” Jeff Vahle, president of Disney Signature Experiences and Disney Cruise Line said.

The new accordance with the Port of Galveston is the next step in Disney Cruise Line’s upcoming expansion. Three new ships were announced in 2017, and are currently being built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany. Names have not been announced for the ships yet, but are scheduled to be completed in 2021, 2022, and 2023. These new ships will nearly double Disney Cruise Line’s current fleet.

Disneynature’s newest film, “Penguins,” is a “coming-of-age story about an Adélie penguin named Steve who joins millions of fellow males in the icy Antarctic spring on a quest to build a suitable nest, find a life partner and start a family.”

In order to capture the beautiful footage used in “Penguins,” Disneynature assembled a team of the best polar experts in the world.  They traveled to four different locations over the course of 3 years, gathering footage from over 900 days. The conditions were frigid, with temperatures dropping below -40° F and winds topping out at over 150 mph on occasion.  But their efforts were not in vain, as they were able to capture the extraordinary story of Steve, who promises to capture the hearts of moviegoers around the globe.  “It’s so fun to watch Steve compete with all the other penguins to set up his nest and win his mate,” said Roy Conli, one of the producers of “Penguins,” “It’s hard not to relate to this guy.”

“Antarctica is one of the few areas in the world that most people will never have an opportunity to see firsthand,” said Conli. “It’s one of the most remote and harshest environments on Earth—but its stark beauty is breathtaking. Cultivating an understanding and appreciation of the area, the surrounding oceans and the animals who live there is essential to the future of our planet. That’s one of the reasons I love sharing the story of Steve—a penguin who’s working so hard to thrive in this world, and doing his part for the next generation.”

Disneynature is partnering with the Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN) to contribute towards penguin conservation and protection.  “Disneynature has an amazing platform,” said Charles Knowles, president and co-founder of  WCN. “They’re able to reach a global audience in a way that we can hardly fathom. They are uniquely positioned to tell the real story of penguins and the challenges they face. By teaming up with Disneynature—which is so strongly aligned with our own mission—we are able to uniquely communicate about the species we care so much about.”  To learn more about how WCN is saving wildlife and the work of their conservation partners, visit wildnet.org.

Disneynature’s “Penguins” opens in theaters nationwide and select IMAX® theatres starting Wednesday, April 17, 2019. It will be the first-ever Disneynature film to be released in IMAX®.  For every ticket sold during opening week (April 17-23, 2019), Disneynature will make a donation to the Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN) to help protect penguins across the southern hemisphere.

Broadway’s Original Tarzan’s Perform At EPCOT Broadway Concert Series

Tarzan EPCOT Broadway Concert Series

Tarzan EPCOT Broadway Concert Series

Disney is bringing two Broadway veterans back for the Epcot International Festival for the Arts Broadway Concert Series.  Josh Strickland and Kevin Massey, who originated (and understudied) the role of Tarzan on Broadway, will perform along with other notable Broadway names.

Tarzan, The Broadway Musical, debut on Broadway in 2006.  Phil Collins wrote all the music and lyrics for the show and the film.  The show closed in 2007, after nearly 500 performances, and went on to debut on-stage around the world.  Most notably, Josh reprised his role as Tarzan in the German production, singing the score in German this time!

Kevin will begin the Broadway series, performing with Kerry Butler (Beauty and the Beast, Mean Girls), January 18, 19, 22, 23, and 26th.  Josh performs with Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast), February 11, 12, 15, 16, 19, 20, and 23rd.

Both Kevin and Josh sat down to chat with D23 about their days on the Great White Way.  They both agree that the best part of performing as Tarzan was “flying” from tree to tree on stage.  As difficult as the movements of Tarzan were for both of them at first, they were surprised how natural it felt after they began performances.

The Epcot International Festival of the Arts starts January 18th and continues through February 25th.  Talents from all over the world will be on hand showcasing their visual, culinary and performing arts.
