We have some exciting news to share with our readers today. Work is continuing to progress at the Disney’s Hollywood Studios Skyliner station that includes the installation of a brand new Disney Skyliner Gondola car! The Disney Skyliner will be the newest transportation option for guests providing a gondola lift system that will connect multiple points across the Walt Disney World property.

You can see the concept artwork for both the Hollywood Studios and Epcot Skyliner stations here.

Disney has not announced an official completion date for this project but once it is open it will connect Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and the future DVC property, Disney’s Riveria Resort located next to Coronado Springs. The Disney Skyliner Gondola is expected to be up and running through by the middle of 2019.

Gone are the large, colorful statues and in their place, a more modern look and feel. But don’t worry! There are still traces of the former décor scattered about the new space. Let’s take a look.

Last week we here at Chip and Co. shared with you a first look at the incredible details of this year’s Haunted Mansion Holiday gingerbread house which appears in the Great Hall during this special Tim Burton-esque seasonal overlay of the classic Haunted Mansion attraction.   Now Disney fans can check out this video of how Disney brought this creepy creation to life.  This includes the construction of the 5-foot spider that serves as the focal point of this year’s centrepiece.

With all things pumpkin happening at the Walt Disney World Resort, it’s no surprise that a seasonal muffin would appear. We’ve seen pumpkin everything, from lattes and milkshakes, to cupcakes and fudge. Now, Roaring Fork at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is now serving up tasty pumpkin muffins!

You can not go wrong with a pumpkin muffin for breakfast. They even make incredible on the go treats. These muffins are priced at $3.29 and are also considered a snack credit on any Disney dining plan.

While you are visiting Roaring Fork, you can also grab the Roaring Breakfast Platter for breakfast. It features Scrambled Eggs, Potato Hash, Sausage, Bacon and a Cheddar Biscuit. Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort Extends Closure Due to Tropical Storm Florence

Tropical Storm Florence

Update: Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort extends their closure through Wednesday, September 19th due to Tropical Storm Florence. 

In preparation for Hurricane Florence, Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort closed! Hurricane Florence is churning in the Atlantic Ocean all while gaining strength and heading for the East Coast of the United States. As of right now it is a Category 4 and is expected to become a Category 5 by the time she makes landfall. Many coastal and inland cities have begun making precautions and preparations for the Hurricane, and now we have word that Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort in South Carolina is doing the same.

With Hurricane Florence approaching the U.S. East Coast, Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort will close on Tuesday, Sept. 11 and is expected to remain closed through Monday, Sept. 17. Please continue to check back for updates. Members and Guests with questions about an upcoming reservation should contact Member Services at (800) 800-9800 or your travel agent.

Please keep in mind that the reopening date could be extended if there are extensive damages done to the resort. We won’t know until the Hurricane passes, but we will make sure to keep you updated as we know of any news.

Entrees like the  10-Hour Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich with Chipotle-Apple Barbecue Sauce, creamy Slaw on a Sweet Brioche Bun and the Gourmet Grilled Cheese with Tomato, Onion Jam and Apple Butter on Multigrain Bread are great choices.  We also love the Flatbreads, including the Fennel Sausage, Pepperoni, Caramelized Onion and Goat Cheese Flatbread.

‘Designing Women’ Reboot Greenlit for ABC

What’s old is new again! And, in the television world, that is definitely the truth. Several shows that aired in the 80s and 90s have gained new life in the 21st Century including “Roseanne” which will air in its second season as “The Conners” on ABC. Now, The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that popular 90s sitcom “Designing Women” has also been resurrected for new life in a new era.

It’s hard to believe but it has been 25 years since “Designing Women” made its final appearance on CBS. The show featuring an interior design firm based in Atlanta. It was known to take current events head on including politics along with culture and social issues. The reboot of the show is expected to do the same. Original series creator, Linda Bloodworth Thomason, along with her husband, Harry Thomason, are returning to write and produce the show.

“I’m very excited to be working with ABC. And Sony has always been a great partner for Designing Women. Normally, I’m not a fan of reboots but Designing Women does seem to have the right fengshui for all that is going on right now. We could definitely have some fun,” Bloodworth Thomason told The Hollywood Reporter.

A cast for the new “Designing Women” has not been confirmed but the show will follow the next generation of the Sugarbakers.  A premiere date has not been announced at this time.
