Mickey 90th Anniversary Ray-Ban Sunglasses

The celebration for Mickey’s 90th Anniversary continues! Ray-Ban has joined Disney once more to keep cool in style, while celebrating the one and only True Original Mickey Mouse. The Mickey 90th Anniversary Ray-Ban Sunglasses have been re-released and are back for a limited time once more.

The eye-catching glasses, are in the popular Wayfarer style, and features custom artwork created by Disney’s lead character artist, Jeff Shelly. The front and sides are a chic smooth black, while the inside of the frames reveal the gorgeous character artwork!

A crisp white design unfolds on the inside, with bold black and red Mickey designs celebrating. These limited edition Sunglasses are a Sunglass Hut exclusive, and sold out very quickly at the Disney locations. They are however still available to try on in store, and purchasable online once again. The sunglasses come in both an adult and juniors sized Wayfarer.

Guest at Walt Disney World Awarded $24K in Lawsuit

A guest staying at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort filed a suit against Disney alleging her foot was ran over by a food cart pushed by a cast member in the Art Animation Food Court – Landscapes of Flavor causing permanent nerve damage.

According to Courtroom View Network, a jury found Disney Parks and Resorts 40% liable for the accident that left Jessica Wilson with a rare nerve disorder. Wilson’s lawyer’s request over $11 million in damages and $4.4 million to cover future medical costs. Wilson was awarded just under $24,000 of the original $59,840 requested.

Wilson’s lawyers told jurors that a food cart pushed by a Cast Member ran overs Wilson’s food as she turned around from a condiment station which has caused longstanding damage.

During Wednesday’s closings, Tyrone told jurors the cart, pushed by an unidentified Disney employee, ran over Wilson’s foot as she turned around from a condiment station. Tyrone said Disney employees who testified agreed that workers should push the carts slowly and yield the right-of-way to guests. “Every Disney employee said, ‘If it happened the way she says it happened, then [the worker was] violating the rules,” Tyrone told jurors.

Excerpts from CVN:

“The defense challenged Wilson’s version of events, noting it had changed over time. During Wednesday’s closings, Wicker Smith’s Kurt Spengler told jurors that Wilson originally maintained the wheel ran over her foot twice. However, Spengler said that contention changed when experts testified how difficult it would be to push the wheel over Wilson’s foot even once. “Here we are six years later. [Plaintiffs] are in court asking for millions of dollars, and now here’s the story that’s made to fit the picture after hearing what the engineers say isn’t possible.”

And Spengler challenged the severity of Wilson’s injury, arguing that CRPS expert Dr. Richard Rauck testified her symptoms did not match the disease. “Now Mrs. Wilson says, ‘You know what? Twenty-eight days a month my foot looks completely normal,’” Spengler said, referring to discoloration and swelling seen in CRPS. “Guess what? That’s not CRPS, then. Because that’s not what happens.”

Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger Returns for Season 2 this April. The daring duo of Cloak and Dagger returns to Freeform this Spring, the same month as the premiere of Avengers: Endgame.

Cloak & Dagger first appeared on Freeform June 2018 and is the story of two very unlikely people meeting after developing super powers that seem to be tied to one another. After a series of adventures and mishaps the two become very close and even seem to find solace in each others company. The series stars actress Olivia Holt (Tandy Bowen/Dagger) and actor Aubrey Joseph (Tyrone Johnson/Cloak).

World of Color is Coming Back this Month at Disneyland

Sleeping Beauty’s Castle Has Had a Beautiful Facade Erected During the Construction

“I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream. I know you, the gleam in your eye is so familiar a gleam.” Disneyland is attempting to bring an updated look to the castle and up until this point, we were very disappointed with the look. Thankfully, they have put up these new facade walls and drapes to hide the less than attractive scaffolding. I personally love this shot of the backside of the castle with Prince Phillip and Maleficent!

We happened to get a shot of Aurora and Prince Phillip getting kicked out of the castle haha!

This is a glimpse of what the completed castle may look like as you are walking into the park from Main St. U. S. A.

The castle refurbishment is part of Project Stardust. Project Stardust is a collection of enhancements around the Disneyland Resort. Several Fantasyland attractions received updates to their queues. Outdoor vending cart spacing is being adjusted to make additional walking space for guests. Disneyland Resort is preparing for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy Edge this summer. The new addition will bring large crowds to the resort and these new projects are all underway to maximize guest comfort and experience.

The fencing around the castle is being covered up by drapes that mirror images from Sleeping Beauty. You can see squirrels and creatures with a wooded backdrop.

This is a look from behind the castle walls near the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. It’s a fun new photo opp for those huge Maleficent fans like me.

Disney is Casting Stand-Ins for Upcoming “High School Musical” Series

What team? Wildcats! Disney is now casting stand-ins for the upcoming series “High School Musical”.

The new tv show will air on Disney+, the new streaming service coming late 2019. “High School Musical” will be a 10-episode show that will be filmed documentary-style with the watchers following a group of students at East High School. The students and their theater teacher are preparing for their winter production of High School Musical when they find out that drama will be found outside of the theater too.

Old-school fans of the original trilogy will be happy to learn that each of the ten new episodes will feature a rendition of a classic HSM song they know and love. Executive producers Tim Federle (Ferdinand) and Oliver Goldstick (Pretty Little Liars) are sure to create an entertaining series that will please both the old and new fandoms.

Disney is looking for stand-ins aged 18-30 for several roles in the show. There are specific requirements for the roles like height and hair color. Filming is set to begin on February 13th and continue into the summer months in Salt Lake City and Heber Utah. The pay for stand-ins is $150 per day for up to 12 hours each day.

A Closer Look: Storybook Land Canal in Disneyland Park.

The Storybook Land Canal is an attraction located in Fantasyland at Disneyland Park. This attraction came to life in 1956 based off of Walt Disney’s love for miniature replicas. Throughout the ride guests travel through a picturesque fantasy realm.

So, let’s step inside a 12-person boat for an open-air tour of the Storybook Land Canal. Each miniature replica throughout the tour has been hand-built, using a scale of one inch to one foot, and painted in order to achieve the effect Disney was looking for.

Throughout the tour guests can adventure into different fantasy realms, such as The Three Little Pigs from the 1933 cartoon. Guests will be able to see the straw, stick and brick houses of Fifer, Fiddler and Practical. Each dwelling is outfitted with six-inch doors and quarter-inch hinges that open and close. Listen closely! You can even hear the pigs singing, “Who’s afraid of the big bad wolf”. Hopefully we don’t see that wolf on our journey, he might huff and puff and blow our ship off course!

As we journey into the church village from Alice in Wonderland look closely at the windows! Those are imported stain glass windows, they are incredibly beautiful! The windows are original to the village and were insisted on by Walt Disney.

The center of the canal features a long, narrow island known as London Park. Here guests will find a miniature golden statue of Peter Pan. In the evening, this miniature park sparkles with twinkling lights.

High up on the hill top guests can spot Cinderella’s castle. Look closely at the turrets. The turrets are covered in 24-karate gold which reflects the sunlight during the day. Don’t worry, if you visit this village at night the castle windows are lit up!

In addition, guests will also visit the Alpine village from Pinocchio, the royal city of Agrabah, Toad Hall and more. However, the most notable village is the newest addition to Storybook Land Canal, The village of Arendelle and Elsa’s Ice palace. As you travel through the village you might even get a small sneak-peek at small shop named “Oaken’s Trading Post and Sauna”. I hear they usually have a big summer blowout!

Oreo the Raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy Passed Away

Yesterday, Marvel shared the news that Oreo, the racoon who modelled as Rocket from “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2” has sadly passed away at the age of 10 years due to a short illness.

The news was confirmed by Quinta Layla, who posted a status on from her Facebook group, containing a heartwarming obituary and some adorable photos of Oreo.

Oreo was crucial to bringing Rocket, the funny, genetically altered mammal voiced by Bradley Cooper to life, by capturing his behaviour and movement. Oreo even attended the World premiere of “Guardians of the Galaxy”, accompanied by the film director James Gunn in 2014.

Rest in peace Oreo you loveable racoon and our condolences to Quinta Layla.

Goofy and Donald Duck Voice Actors Discuss Their Roles in the Kingdom Hearts Series. The voice actors have lent their voices for the span of 10 games and 17 years as the beloved pals of Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck.

Tony Anselmo is the man behind the beak of Donald Duck. Donald plays a key part as a healer and fighter for the team, along side Goofy and Sora, the main player character in the series. Bill Farmer portray’s our favorite goof ball, Goofy. Goofy is primarily a protector and defender in the Kingdom Hearts series, wielding a large shield to protect himself and his teammates. Both actors have been involved with the series since day 1 and have voiced these classic pals in film, television, and song for even longer.

Recently, the two sat down for an interview with D23 to discuss their time as Donald and Goofy and their favorite memories during their 20+ year careers as voice actors. Take a look at what they had to say.

D23: How is recording for a video game different than doing voice work for movies and shorts?
Bill Farmer (BF): There are typically many, many more lines of dialogue involved with a video game than with a movie or TV series, so I knew that I would be busy with a lot of work.
Tony Anselmo (TA): While there may be more dialogue to record in a game than in a short, the dialogue for our characters must be written, performed, recorded, and mixed, with the same consistency and character integrity as in any other Disney product.

D23: Do you have a favorite memory from working on Kingdom Hearts through the years?
BF: Two things. One, Kingdom Hearts was first produced in Japanese, and so I heard the Japanese actor’s voice in my headphones while I provided the English translation. It’s somewhat of a challenge, but it’s a lot of fun to contribute to such a new and inventive project. Secondly, we do not record in a distinct front-to-back linear fashion, so figuring out the story and how to voice a particular scene was a fun challenge.
TA: I have to say working with my old pal Bill Farmer is never short on laughs.

D23: Do you have a favorite thing about the Kingdom Hearts version of your character?
BF: Seeing how Goofy changes from world to world was my favorite thing.
TA: I’m proud of Donald’s sense of adventure, courage, and heroism.

D23: What is your favorite interaction with fans of Kingdom Hearts?
BF: The fans are so involved, and so knowledgeable about the game that it thrills me to know that I am helping to provide something that so many people enjoy.
TA: I’m always impressed by how big a part of their lives Kingdom Hearts is and how dedicated they are.

D23: Did you ever expect Kingdom Hearts to become such a huge phenomenon?
BF: From the look of the game and the story, I knew that it would be a hit, but I had no idea that it would be so massively popular. It was a wonderful surprise.
TA: We never know at the time. We hope our audience will be entertained, and it’s always rewarding when they are.

D23: Is there something exciting or new in Kingdom Hearts III that fans should look forward to?
BF: I certainly hope so, but I’m usually the last to know, so just keep your ears open. I’m sure there is something great just around the corner.
TA: Even more spectacular animation, color, design, and characters than before.

D23: Throughout the different games, your character travels to different worlds and often takes on fun new designs and costumes to match the worlds. Could you name three of your favorite designs of your character?
BF: There are so many to choose from, but I guess my favorites are Halloweentown, Monsters, Inc., and Timeless River.
TA: I must admit, I laughed pretty hard when I saw Donald in his Monster design.

D23: What is something you hope fans take away from playing the Kingdom Hearts games?
BF: I just hope they have as much fun playing the game as we had making it!
TA: If they are entertained, have fun, and come back again for this new game, we couldn’t ask for more.

D23: We are coming to the end of a very long saga with Kingdom Hearts III. How does it feel to say goodbye to this beloved franchise?
BF: Like all projects with Goofy, it is sad when the journey ends, but knowing that it will entertain people for years to come makes it all worthwhile.
TA: They asked me that question after we finished the first game. I doubt anything this popular could end any sooner than its audience wants it to.

Both Bill and Tony will continue voicing the classic characters in other forms of media, but it sounds like they would both be up for another installment in the Kingdom Hearts Series. In the mean time, you can play the newly released game to hear these talented individuals, along side their equally talented cast mates, in Kingdom Hearts 3.
