SeaWorld Orlando will be debuting its new Infinity Falls river rapids attraction after months of delays and we have an official grand opening date! The all-new 8 passenger raft ride will officially open to Guests on Thursday, October 4th, 2018.

Infinity Falls will be the first attraction at SeaWorld to tell a story beyond the ocean and share a message of water conservation through the adventure of a white-water river expedition. This is just one example of the park’s new “Park to Planet” initiative, a mission to help guests understand some of the challenges facing the planet and inspiring them to help.

The new attraction will be the centerpiece of a newly themed area designed to resemble the basecamp of explorers and scientists. After riding Infinity Falls, the entire family can explore the village and take part in interactive experiences that combine play with education to create a positive impact on freshwater ecosystems, reinforcing “Park to Planet” in real time. SeaWorld’s Animal Ambassadors will also provide up-close encounters with animals native to South America.

The 8-passenger rafts mirror those found on real white-water rafting expeditions with custom theming and décor. The circular raft design puts riders face-to-face and allows friends and family to enjoy this exhilarating attraction together. Aboard the raft, riders will embark on an adventure through a lush rainforest environment inspired by some of the world’s most incredible freshwater ecosystems. The new attraction will feature the world’s tallest drop on a river raft ride and allow visitors to experience the feel of exhilarating rapids. The ride will also feature an innovative elevator lift designed to transport the rafts to the top of the ride’s 40-foot drop.

Currently, the Casey’s Corner Hot Diggity Dog of the month is a spicy one! The Jalapeno Popper Hot Diggity Dog features an all-beef hot dog topped with cheese sauce, garlic ranch drizzle, bacon bits, jalapeno poppers, and pickled jalapenos. It’s amazing!

While Casey’s Corner Hot Diggity Dog for October will bring the heat down, it promises to pack the same punch of flavor! Introducing the Loaded Mashed Potato Hot Diggity Dog! The Loaded Mashed Potato Hot Diggity Dog features garlic mashed potatoes, caramelized onions, cheddar, bacon, scallion sour cream, and green onions. I don’t know about you, but that sounds delicious!

The Plaza Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom to Begin Breakfast Service

There’s nothing better than a great big breakfast to start the day on the right foot. Well, maybe there is one thing better… starting the day at the Magic Kingdom!

Beginning November 4, you can have both as the Plaza Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom will begin serving breakfast!

Menu options will range from the Classic All-American Breakfast featuring scrambled eggs with breakfast potatoes, sausage, bacon, a biscuit, and MICKEY WAFFLES to the Lobster Benedict with crispy fried green tomatoes, buttery lobster, two poached eggs, and hollandaise. This dish is also served with house-made breakfast potatoes. In addition, you can create your own omelet with fresh ingredients including sausage, bacon, ham, onions, peppers, tomatoes, and cheese.

Kids are invited to enjoy options such as the popular Mickey Waffles! This dish comes with fresh-cut fruit, sausage, and bacon, and the Mickey Waffles are served over banana cream, dusted with powdered sugar, and topped with Mickey-shaped sprinkles!

Breakfast at The Plaza Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom will be served daily from 8am to 10:30am for a limited time starting on November 4 and ending on January 5, and reservations are highly recommended.

Is Rafiki’s Planet Watch Closing at Disney’s Animal Kingdom ?

It seems like chatter has been going on for years about closing or re-imagining Rafiki’s Planet Watch in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Per the official Walt Disney World website, it looks like that day is finally coming. As you can see below, there are no hours listed for the zoo-like section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom past Sunday, October 6, 2018.

Rafiki’s Planet Watch is home to Conservation Station, Affection Section, and Habitat Habit. It is accessible by the Wildlife Express Train.

It is unknown at this time what might happen to the attractions and animals located at the Planet Watch including the character meet-and-greet with Rafiki. However, the Lion King is going to be celebrated in a big way at Animal Kingdom in 2019, so he might be moving over to the main section of the Park. It is also unknown if this closure is for good or if it will re-open down the line with a Zootopia theme as has been the rumor for several years now. Keep it here with Chip & Co. for all the latest!

Adrian & Edith’s Head to Toe located in Hollywood Studios has been the place to stop for everything from Mickey Ears to hand towels. It is a costume designer-inspired store that offers distinctive clothing and keepsakes as well as embroidered towels, aprons and Christmas stockings. Currently this location is undergoing refurbishment as the space is being re-imagined.

It now appears that the Adrian & Edith’s embroidery will still take place upon request but will occur in the back of the store. Also, towels and monograms will no longer be an option for guests to choose.

Stage 1: Company Store

One of our favorite gift shops in all of Walt Disney World has to be the Stage 1: Company Store off the Muppet Courtyard in Hollywood Studios. This retail outlet is your home to Muppet souvenirs including clothes, hats, toys, and pins as well as a wide range of other Disney theme park merchandise. However, what really wins us over is the theming. The shop pays homage to the Happiness Hotel from The Great Muppet Caper with lots of little details that can be found by looking around the shop! (Hint: Be sure to look up!)

We mentioned back in March that there were construction walls up in the store, but we didn’t have any details of what was going on. Well, the walls are down and the store is complete with its refurbs! Take a look!

Participate In the Fun Run at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort!

You can run the distance in a 1.2 mile fun run around Disney’s All-Star Resorts on September 25! Make registration easy by paying with your MagicBand on the day-of! Check-in begins at 6:30a at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort!

The fun run will begin at All-Star Movies Resort and check-In is located at the Reel Spot. The fun run will cost $15 and no cash is accepted day of so you will need to use your MagicBand or credit card.

These “Fun Runs” are considered recreational activities, so they aren’t listed on the Walt Disney World Resort website. Most are offered on a weekly basis. For the most up-to-date information about a particular “Fun Run,” I recommend you call the Resort hotel directly to speak to the front desk since the runs are subject to change. Disney donates more than $1 million dollars for Hurricane Florence relief

Today Disney has announced a $500,000 dollar donation to the Red Cross Hurricane Florence relief drive.

Working with many local ABC News stations they hosted a phone bank and donation drive that collected more than $583,000 for Hurricane Florence victims.

According to ABC11 Disney has also pledged to match donations made by Disney employees. This brings the total funds raised to $1,038,886 and counting.

Splash Mountain Ziploc Bag Program is Underway

We previously reported that a partnership between Disney and Ziploc was in the works. One of the features of the partnership was that a Splash Mountain Ziploc Bag program would begin which, in turn, would offer complimentary Ziploc bags to guests riding the classic water ride. This week, that program officially began and bags are currently being distributed.

We stopped by Splash Mountain the other day to pick up one of the free bags and they are cute! They are on the smaller size but would definitely protect your valuables including cell phones and wallets.

Many were under the impression that the Ziploc Program would never launch after Disney made the announcement they would be removing small plastic items from the parks including plastic straws. However, in addition to the Splash Mountain Ziploc Bag program, Ziploc Bags are also being distributed at the Kidcot stations in Epcot.
