Beginning January 18th, guests of Disney’s Hollywood Studios will have the chance to meet some of their favorite Pixar characters and join in on the fun as new Pixar experiences arrive!

Pixar Place will transform into a Metroville city block and welcome our favorite Incredibles characters. At the end of the block, guests can join the party which will honor Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible and Frozone for all of their “Super” deeds.

Make sure you dress for the occasion because the one and only Edna Mode will be stopping by for an appearance. She will have a special location setup on Pixar Place displaying some of her greatest creations.

In addition to new experiences coming to the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios in 2019, new Lion King experiences will be arriving at Disney’s Animal Kingdom beginning January 18, 2019.

Guests are invited to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Lion King with Timon and Rafiki in the “Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party.” The dance party, held on Discovery Island, invites guests to let their inner animal roam free on the dance floor during this wild party!

One of the other new Lion King experiences coming in 2019 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Lion King, is special three-dimensional photo opportunities that will be set up around Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Guests are invited to pose and take a selfie in front of re-created scenes from the animated classic.

2019 Surprise Celebration Coming to Magic Kingdom

It’s time to book your 2019 Vacation because there is a Surprise Celebration coming to Magic Kingdom! Beginning January 18th guests of the Walt Disney World Resort will be able to experience new, limited-time magic. Join in on the music and dancing with Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration where guests have a chance to honor the timeless duo.

The all-new “Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party” will debut at Magic Kingdom park. Guests are invited to dance along with Mickey and Minnie in front of Cinderella’s Castle, while live singers perform new renditions of classic “Mickey Mouse Club” songs.

The Dapper Dans, along with other Main Street, U.S.A. entertainment, will sing songs honoring our two favorite mice.

The celebration wouldn’t be complete without Mickey and Minnie-themed goodies! Guests will be able to find an array of food and merchandise inspired by our favorite mouse couple.

Dates for Epcot’s Festival of the Arts and Flower & Garden Festival Announced

Several new exciting experiences will be coming to Walt Disney World in 2019! While some new experiences will be coming to the Magic Kingdom and other parks, two popular festivals have been confirmed to return to Epcot in 2019- The Festival of the Arts Festival and the Flower & Garden Festival.

First off, the Epcot International Festival of the Arts will return beginning January 18, 2019 and run until February 25, 2019. The festival invites guests to indulge in world-class culinary, visual, and performing arts.

Also returning during the Festival of the Arts is the Disney on Broadway Concert Series. In 2019, the concert series will be extended to seven days a week offering more opportunities to experience more live Disney musical magic on stage.

On March 6, 2019, the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival will return to Epcot. The festival offers delectable bites at outdoor kitchens and dozens of Disney-themed topiaries blooming throughout the park.

The Garden Rocks Concert Series will also return during the 2019 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. The Concert Series will also be expanded to severn days a week offering over 270 concerts during the 90-day even.

The Epcot Flower & Garden Festival will be held until June 3, 2019.

Disneyland and Hotel Staff Reach Tentative Contract Agreement

According to a recent post in the Los Angeles Times, after a year and a half of negotiations, Disneyland Resort has reached a tentative contract agreement with the union that represents over 2,000 works at Disney’s onsite hotel properties.

The agreement was reached on early Tuesday by Unite Here Local 11 and Disneyland’s management team. The proposed contract will raise the starting salary at Disney’s hotels to a minimum of $15 per hour up from $13. It is also requested that workers are paid a $1000 bonus that had previously been promised after the Republican tax plan was approved last year.

The next step is for the workers to vote on the four-year contract which will take place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If approved the contract would go into effect on September 24, 2018.

In addition to raising the minimum wage for Disney hotel employees the agreement also includes “fair workloads for housekeepers” and affordable health insurance options according to the union officials that have been presiding over the agreement.

To say Disney fans are “excited” for the Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster coming to Epcot would be a massive understatement. Aside from the “awesomeness” of the movies, this new coaster is designed to be one of the longest indoor rollercoasters in the world. So it’s easy to see what has fans so revved up.

The GOTG coaster is set to open in 2021, just in time for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration. While details have not yet been released, we do know the coaster will feature a unique storyline and innovative ride system. So prepare to be “wowed”.

Minnie Van Drivers Are Not In Favor of a Union

Drivers of the Walt Disney World Resort Minnie Vans, powered by Lyft, has been contacted by a union against their wishes. The Teamsters union reached out to half-dozen of the drivers in hopes of bringing them onboard with a union. But the Cast Members who drive the Minnie Vans say they are happy with their working conditions at Disney, and they fear if they join a union they would be forced to lose their seniority and income, plus they would possibly be forced into a pension plan. They reached out to the National Labor Relations Board with their concerns.

The Teamsters union also represents the Disney World bus drivers and costumed characters at Disney World. Disney recently appealed the decision until a final ruling is made.

“I have never asked Teamsters or any other union to represent me in my job at Disney, nor has Teamsters asked me my views on whether I wanted to be subject to representation,” wrote “Minnie Van” driver Mary Hogan, who has worked as a cashier and reservation-taker at Disney World.

The Teamsters local is part of a coalition of unions representing 38,000 workers at Disney World. Earlier this month, members of the coalition approved a new contract that increases the starting minimum wage to $15 an hour over the next three years.

As most know, Disney is great when it comes to accommodating Guests with allergies. They really go above and beyond to make sure everyone has a magical visit without the stress of having to worry about their allergies. Every Cast Member makes sure a guest has access to allergy-friendly options.

Another convenient feature at Walt Disney World is recent addition of Mobile Order on the My Disney Experience app. The features allows guests to essential skip the lines at quick service restaurants to get their food a little quicker.

Recently, Disney has combined the their super-accommodating allergy-friendly options with the convenience of Mobile Order. While not available at all quick service locations, I was able to find it at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. Each main allergy concern is broken down into category and here is a sampling of what is available:

Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort Reopens after Hurricane Florence

After closing on September 11 in preparation for Hurricane Florence hitting North and South Carolina, Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort has reopened.

The Resort in Hilton Head opened its doors for guests yesterday, Wednesday, September 19. Little damage was reported from Hurricane Florence and Cast Members were able to get everything up in running safely in time for yesterday’s reopening.

Check out a brand-new “Ralph Breaks the Internet” trailer, introducing new characters, including the fierce and fun crew of racers from online racing game Slaughter Race. Ali Wong lends her voice to Felony, Timothy Simons voices Butcher Boy, Glozell Green brings Little Debbie to life and Hamish Blake provides the voice of Pyro.

Also new to the roster of characters is Double Dan, the proprietor of the dark web’s apothecary. Voiced by Alfred Molina, Double Dan is massive, slimy and decidedly creepy with a second head called Little Dan tucked into his neck folds. “Ralph Breaks the Internet” opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 21, 2018.

In “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” video-game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Their quest takes them to the vast, uncharted world of the internet where they rely on the citizens of the internet—the Netizens—to help navigate their way. Lending a virtual hand are Yesss (voice of Taraji P.
