Disney Promotes Two SVP Global Marketing

Disney promotes two SVP Global Marketing positions last week. These new Senior Vice Presidents were announced by Asad Ayaz, Studio Marketing President.

Ryan Stankevich will oversee  on Marvel and Lucasfilm titles in her new position while Martha Morrisonn will be responsible for Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios films. Both Stankevich and Morrisonn will work on live action films from Disney.

“This is a truly amazing team and I’m so proud of the work we’ve done together over the past several years,” said Ayaz in a statement. “Martha and Ryan are talented and fearless leaders who will set a bold course for our film campaigns, and with several team members taking on new and expanded roles, this marks an exciting evolution of our group as we look to the future.”

In these new positions both women will focus on the global campaigns and marketing strategy for all films under the Disney umbrella.

There were several other promotions within the Marketing divisions at Walt Disney Studios announced as well.

A big congratulations goes out to all who have a new position.  We can’t wait to see what they accomplish in the months and years to come!

Pinocchio Village Haus Introduces October's Flatbread of the Month

We all know The Pinocchio Village Haus has some the most incredible flatbreads in all of Disney. I personally look forward to seeing what their new ‘Flatbread of the Month‘ is going to be. They have recently announced that October will feature the Apple Sausage and Brie Flatbread!

This incredibly delicious flatbread will be topped with apple butter spread, brie cheese, sausage, apples, sour cream, lettuce pico, and cinnamon sugar.

Pinocchio Village Haus is located in Fantasyland in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. They are open daily for lunch and dinner. Be sure to stop by in October to check out that amazing Apple Sausage and Brie Flatbread!

New Upstairs Dining Room and Pizza Window Coming to Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria

Visitors to Downtown Disney at Disneyland will be able to take advantage of an all-new dining area at the much-loved Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria which is currently undergoing some exciting renovations.  As part of the project, this table service eatery will now have an upstairs restaurant with a quaint walkout patio.

This new dining space is adorned with whimsical chandeliers and plush booth seating with views of the open concept kitchen.

Pizza-lovers can order Napolini’s famous fresh-baked pizzas at the recently opened ground-level patio at Naples.  On offer are personal 10-inch pies as well as 20-inch pizzas perfect for sharing with friends and family.  Check out some of the incredible varieties on offer:

Disney Sports Now Accepting Nominations for the 2018 Disney Spirit Award

With the college football season now in full swing, Disney Sports is now accepting nominations for the 2018 Disney Spirit Award.

Since 1996, the Disney Spirit Award has been presented annually to college football’s most inspirational student-athlete, team, coach, fan or figure who has overcome extraordinary physical or emotional hardships or other challenges, while exhibiting a selfless nature and good sportsmanship.

The 2018 Disney Spirit Award will be presented Thursday, Dec. 6th in Atlanta during the College Football Awards at the College Football Hall of Fame.

Last year, the University of Iowa football program earned the award for starting the Kinnick Wave, where more than 70,000 fans stand and wave to the young cancer patients at the University of Iowa’s Stead Family Children’s Hospital that sits next door to the stadium.

Some of the other winners of the award include James Conner (University of Pittsburgh) in 2016, Hank Goff (Concordia University) in 2015, Sterling Shepard and Bob Stoops (University of Oklahoma) in 2014 and Devon Walker (Tulane University) in 2013.

The Walt Disney Company Donates $1 Million To Boys & Girls Club of Burbank

The Boys & Girls Club of Burbank and Greater East Valley announced that The Walt Disney Company is making a $1 million dollar investment in the organization through a donation that will provide the funds needed to build a new Main Club facility and give 400 Boys & Girls Club members a safe place to go after school.

In 1995, the Club began in an old firehouse just up the road from The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California; and now, more than two decades later, the Club serves thousands of young people every year in six different Southern California cities, including Burbank, North Hollywood, North Hills, Van Nuys, Sun Valley and Hollywood.

Club supporters, City of Burbank stakeholders, Burbank Unified School District personnel, political representatives and special guests joined Boys & Girls Club CEO Shanna Warren and The Walt Disney Company Senior Vice President, Enterprise Social Responsibility Elissa Margolis for today’s announcement during an event held on the site where the Club will be built. The brand-new facility, which is expected to be completed by fall of 2020, will be a two-story, 16,000-square-foot space with two multi-purpose rooms, a games room, creative arts space, STEM lab, teen club, two learning centers, teaching kitchen, conference room and garden/roof patio.

“The Walt Disney Company is pleased to make this contribution and fund the construction of a new main club facility,” said Margolis, senior vice president, Enterprise Social Responsibility for The Walt Disney Company. “The impact of this new club will more than double the number of members served by The Boys & Girls Club and provides a safe place that meets the diverse needs of our local youth.”

The Boys & Girls Club of Burbank and Greater East Valley’s mission is to help every child reach their full potential, focusing on academic success, healthy lifestyles, character and leadership through a variety of programs—including the only Deaf and Hard of Hearing program in the area. The Club will share the new facility with Burbank Unified School District, and the project has been a joint effort between the two organizations.

“For the last 10 years, we have been on a journey to acquire a new main club facility that meets our ever expanding needs,” said Warren. “Because of The Walt Disney Company’s confidence in the Club and financial support, we have just taken a major step forward in making our dream come true.”
