Halloween Treats Arrive at Saratoga Springs

Halloween treats arrive at Saratoga Springs Resort in Walt Disney World. The Halloween season at Disney World is full of ghostly goodies this year. The Artist’s Palette has conjured up two new delectable desserts to welcome in October- pumpkin cheesecake and Halloween Oreo cupcake.

Pumpkin Cheesecake – $4.29 (or one snack credit)

Autumn is in the air with the new pumpkin cheesecake (also available at Old Key West Resort).  With a bourbon sour cream frosting and spiced pecans, this cheesecake is frighteningly fun.

Halloween Oreo Cupcake – $5.99 (or one snack credit)

The Halloween Oreo Cupcake is for Oreo lovers! An Oreo cookie is the base of the Oreo cake with a hazelnut filled center. Then, orange crispy pearls decorate the edges of the glitter Oreo buttercream.  Finally, the Oreo Mickey Mouse (chocolate ears) jack o lantern is added on top.  Did somebody say Oreo?!

Halloween has definitely arrived at the Saratoga Springs Resort in Walt Disney World.  The Artist’s Palette continues to create unique treats for the whole family.  What is your favorite spooktacular treat this year? Post in the comments below.  Stay hungry Disney friends!

Create Your Own Yogurt Parfait

Create your own yogurt parfait at the All-Star Movies Resort in Walt Disney World. Breakfast just got more deliciously customizable at the World Premiere Food Court. Start the day off right when you create your own yogurt parfait just the way you want it.

Customize the ultimate breakfast with a yogurt parfait in just three easy steps. Start by selecting vanilla and/or strawberry yogurt. Then, guests are offered a plethora of mix-ins from the traditional granola and berries to dried apricots.  This is an excellent option for parents with picky toddlers (like myself). I know my toddler loves choosing her own anything LOL! Fill the cup up to the brim for great use of one snack credit on the Disney dining plan or 65 cents an oz. (weighed at the register).

Tom Sawyer Island Refurbishment Planned

Tom Sawyer Island Refurbishment Planned

Tom Sawyer Island refurbishment and closer is planned for October the 14th through December 21st.  This is part of the ongoing reconstruction of the Rivers of America area in Walt Disney World.   The rafts that carry guest and the island itself will be closed for the entire renovation.

We recently reported on Rivers of America being drained and work done to clean up the waterway.  We can’t wait to see what is in store for the future of Tom Sawyer Island. This is one of my favorite places to sit back and relax while at Walt Disney World.  We always grab a turkey leg or Mickey Bar and rest after a full morning in the park.

Stay tuned for more details as we get them on the renovation!

A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Decorating the Disneyland Resort for Halloween Time

Disneyland Halloween Decor

Have you ever wondered, how do they decorate the Disneyland Resort for the Holidays, like Halloween or Christmas?  It’s not hard to miss the giant Mickey Mouse jack-o’-lantern on Main Street, U.S.A in Disneyland park or the eerie Headless Horseman on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure park.

However, what you may not have noticed at first glance is the fine detailed décor prepared by the resort enhancement team. While working the graveyard shift, these talented tricksters transform all of the window displays along both streets into spooky Halloween-themed scenes. The team is also responsible for enhancing many of the restaurants and shops at the Disneyland Resort with touches of the seasonal spirit.

Check out the video below to get a glimpse at how the team brings Halloween magic to life!

A chocolate Mickey head sits on top. The Not-So-Poison Apple Cupcake is as creepy as it is delicious. It’s a gigantic spiced apple cupcake with pecan praline on top. Buttercream comes next, followed by a half-dome of red buttercream. On top of the dome is a mirror glaze surface of red lustre spray. The outer edges have cracked red candy pieces that look like broken glass. This mountain of sin is topped with white icing and a licorice piece to look like the apple’s stem.
