Nyala Brownie Debuts at Animal Kingdom Lodge

You might be wondering what in Africa is a “Nyala” brownie? Well, Let me explain what a Nyala is first! A Nyala is spiral horned antelope native to South Africa. It’s only fitting that Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge has created a perfectly inspired Nyala yummy for you to devour.

You’ll want to head to The Mara (Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge’s quick service restaurant) to find the Nyala brownie. The Nyala brownie comes in a foil tin shaped like our favorite mouse, Mickey. The brownie is topped with peanut butter buttercream icing, a strip of white icing, and finished with white & milk chocolate “horns.”

If you’re on the Disney Dining Plan, you can grab this scrumptious goodie with a snack credit or the price is just $4.79. This brownie is definitely big enough to share…if you do that sort of thing (wink wink!)

As you can see, there are plenty of other African animal inspired goodies to choose from if a brownie is not your cup of tea. After all, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is the second largest African artifact in the world — next to Africa! Pretty amazing, right?

The next installment in the series of live-action remakes of Disney classic animated films is almost here. Dumbo is slated to hit theaters in March and we’ve got another look at the anticipated film in a new television trailer titled “Generations”.

The reimagining of Dumbo is being helmed by iconic director Tim Burton and stars Danny DeVito, Eva Green, Colin Farrell, and Michael Keaton. It will be released nationwide on March 29, 2019.

Marathon Weekend Only: Princess Petit Cakes at Amorette’s Patisserie

To keep with the theming of this weekend’s Princess Half Marathon, Amorette’s Patisserie designed three special Princess Petit Cakes, available this weekend only. Head over to Disney Springs and pick up your cake asap!

Exclusive for race weekend only are the Jasmine, Belle, and Ariel themed Princess Petit Cakes. All three of these beauties are $16.00 each. On average they feed one to three people. That just depends if you are willing to share or not. While the exterior of the Princess Petit Cakes is different, the flavor remains the same on the inside. Grab a fork, or your dinglehopper, and enjoy the chocolate chiffon cake with raspberry mousse, dark chocolate mousse, and white chocolate crisp pearls.

Jasmine’s Petit Cake:

First up is the Jasmine cake and it’s is gorgeous. The teal fondant background is the perfect color and really makes the gold lamp stand out, along with the delicate golden accents, piped with precision. The royal purple fondant base compliments the gold and teal perfectly. To complete the look is Jasmine’s sapphire crown. This cake gives off an eloquent royal feel.

Belle’s Petit Cake:

Belle’s cake showcases her famous yellow ballgown with pearls holding the ruffles perfectly in place. Front and center is Belle’s opalescent crown. Topping the cake is a single red rose with a couple of scattered petals.

Ariel’s Petit Cake:

Finally, the most intricate cake of the three is Ariel’s Petit Cake. The ocean blue fondant is the perfect backdrop for this under the sea masterpiece. Adorning the cake is a golden crown, surrounded by seashells, seaweed, and pearls that look like bubbles rising to the top. No mermaid is complete without a tail. Don’t miss her green tail and decorations on the top of the cake.

As I’ve mentioned in the past, calories don’t count at Disney. This is even truer if you’ve spent your weekend running. Therefore, celebrate your accomplishments and treat yourself to one, or all three of these adorable Princess Petit Cakes. If you need a little help to finish the weekend, consider these the ideal carbo-loading option. Not only are they tasty, but they’ll help you cross that finish line in record time. Marvel Rising Ultimate Comics Now Available.

Marvel has released a brand-new project, Marvel Rising Ultimate Comics, which presents viewers with a visual storytelling format that combines comic-style graphic paneling with dialogue, sound, video editing and digitally-animated motion effects.

There are six Marvel Rising Ultimate Comics in total and each one is between 6-7 minutes in length. Featuring Marvel Rising’s most beloved characters, as well as special appearances by Thor, Loki, Doctor Strange, Captain America, and Hawkeye, the first episode Marvel Rising Ultimate Comic: Ms. Marvel is AVAILABLE NOW on Marvel HQ! The remaining episodes will be released weekly on the Marvel HQ YouTube channel.

Captian Marvel Content Coming to Marvel Games

Captian Marvel Content Coming to Marvel Games. The newest film from Marvel studios, Captain Marvel, is set to release on March 8th. In celebration of the films release Marvel Games such as, Marvel Strike Force, will be adding Captain Marvel related content, some of which is available now!

Here are the games that will features either characters and story elements from the upcoming superhero film:

MARVEL Strike Force: February 20 – Available now, fans will get a new Kree campaign, character rebalance and new characters, Captain Marvel and Minerva.
Marvel: Future Fight: February 20 – Players, prepare for boss battles with Talos, Kree and Skrulls. Plus, new characters: Korath, Minerva and Nick Fury and new movie costumes for them AND Captain Marvel and Ronan.
MARVEL Battle Lines: February 21- New cards for Captain Marvel, Nick Fury, Ronan, and Goose the Cat.
Marvel Puzzle Quest: February 28; March 14 – New original content is coming, fans can prepare for versus and story events. Captain Marvel will join the game on February 28 and Talos on March 14.
Marvel Contest of Champions: March 6-7; March 21 – Players can keep an eye out for Captain Marvel on March 7 and Nick Fury on March 21.

A new kind of toy is shuffling into town on shopDisney and at the Disney Store! In honor of the latest Pixar film debuting this summer are the new Toy Story Shufflerz! The new Shufflerz by shopDisney and Disney Store will be an ongoing collection that will release a unique cast of characters from beloved films each month.

Shufflerz will be an ongoing series of toys that will showcase a selection of characters from different movies each month. As we can see the first month has kicked off with Toy Story! These fun new walking toys remind me of the little wind up toys from childhood! There’s no gears to twist with these lovable pals though, just press the top of the adorable Toy Story friend 10 times to see them set off. These will be delightful for toy collectors of all ages, and a fun interactive toy the kiddos.

I can already see getting the Green Alien or Rex to keep on my desk! I can also see me watching them walk around my desk while I’m supposed to be working.

The Oscars are coming up this weekend and this year’s nominees are all getting ready in hopes of taking home the coveted award. Acceptance speeches are being written by many hopefuls eagerly anticipating their chance to thank everyone that helped them reach the top of their profession. One iconic figure who’s had some experience with awards and accolades is the incomparable Mickey Mouse. Now Mickey’s giving his list of who he would thank if he were handed an Oscar this year. Let’s see who “the mouse that started it all” doesn’t want to forget.

The Oscars will be shown live on ABC this Sunday, February 24 at 8e/5p. Make sure you tune in to see who goes home with their own golden statue this year.

Ellen DeGeneres Gives Her Own Take on Frozen 2 Trailer

Disney fans were recently treated to the first trailer for the highly-anticipated animated film Frozen 2. The sequel to the massive 2013 hit film is slated to hit theaters this November, and the sneak peek of the new chapter just became the most watched animated trailer of all time on Youtube. Not one to be forgotten for her history of contributions to Disney properties, Ellen DeGeneres just released her hilarious “altered” version of the trailer.

In the clip, Frozen heroine Elsa gets an unexpected companion in her quest to conquer the sea. Ellen’s lovable character Dory the fish from the Finding Nemo and Finding Dory series pops up to ask Elsa a ton of questions as she attempts to use her ice powers on the ocean. Although this isn’t the first time Ellen has spoofed a popular trailer, we love seeing the endearing Dory throwing out her best Frozen puns.

Plot details are still being kept under wraps for Frozen 2 but we expect Disney to slowly release more information about the film as we get closer to its debut. The sequel is expected to do well at the box office, coupling the trailers’ giant viewing with the original Frozen film still holding the title as the highest-grossing animated film of all time. Frozen 2 is scheduled for theaters on November 22, 2019. We will be sure to bring you more details on the movie as they are released.

The R2-D2 bag is a medium sized bag, that’s still compact but is still a bit bigger than the minis. Layered faux leather appliqués come together to create the iconic buttons, dials, and mechanics of the Droid we all know and love.

Yoda guides us in the ways of the Force with style on this cute mini backpack. Stitched designs and appliqués bring together Yoda’s wise smile, and defining ears in the perfect shade of green. I absolutely love the use of different textures on the front pocket and sides of the bag to create his Jedi robe. This was a creative design that pays perfect homage to our favorite Jedi Master.

Shanghai Disney Resort Opens Disney Fun House at Wenzhou Women and Children’s Hospital

Shanghai Disney Resort opened its newest Disney Fun House in Wenzhou Women and Children’s Hospital bringing Disney magic and happiness to children patients and their families. This Fun House is the first Disney-themed play-room in China’s Zhejiang province and is part of the resort’s commitment to caring for those in most need as well as bringing about impactful change in local communities.

A special celebration ceremony was held at the new Disney Fun House to commemorate the occasion. The event was attended by leadership from Wenzhou Women and Children’s Hospital and Shanghai Disney Resort. Mickey Mouse also attended this special event and afterwards gave his best wishes to all the children undergoing treatment, creating cherished Disney memories for them and their families.

Disney VoluntEARS also created unforgettable moments for the children at the hospital as together they enjoyed engaging in activities and games in the new Disney Fun House. As part of Shanghai Disney Resort’s dedication to helping those in need as well as making a positive difference to those in the local communities, Disney VoluntEARS pledge to make regular visits to the hospital to spend time with the children and support them to overcome challenges in their lives.

Over the next few years, additional Fun Houses will open in the Zhejiang province. The Disney Fun House program originated in 2016 when the Walt Disney Company donated $3.1 million USD (RMB 20 million) to commemorate the grand opening of Shanghai Disney Resort. Ever since then, the Disney-themed playrooms have opened in children’s hospitals in 10 Chinese cities including Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Nanjing, Changsha and Kunming, among others. The donation will provide more than 50 hospitals in China with Disney-themed play areas over the course of the five-year Disney Fun House program.

Disney’s support of children’s hospitals can be dated back to the 1930s when Walt Disney himself would visit children in hospitals, often accompanied by Disney characters and animators. Today that support continues, including annual grants and donations to fund play spaces, theme park and first-run movie tickets, care packages, in-kind support, and hospital visits from beloved Disney characters.

Meet the New Olaf in the Broadway Production of Frozen

There’s a new Olaf in town. The happy, beloved snowman from Frozen who loves warm hugs will, for the very first time ever, be played by a woman on Broadway. The actress puppeteering Olaf recently discussed her preparation and first experiences playing the character in an interview with ABC.

Ryann Redman may know the world of Broadway, but playing Olaf has been a new experience. You see, Olaf is a puppet in the Broadway show and Redman explains that puppeteering Olaf requires coordination and use of much of her body. Olaf on the big screen has such a huge personality and Redman must recreate this dynamic in her own way. In the interview, she explains how she has a harness strapped to her body which allows her to move as one with the puppet. For the intricate facial movements, Ryann must use her right hand for the motion of Olaf’s head while her thumb moves his eyebrows and eyelids.

Olaf, who we first met in the Frozen feature film was voiced by Josh Gad who has given his blessing and sent well wishes to Redman. Gad, who is currently busy bringing life to the iconic personality to Olaf in Frozen 2 sent a video greeting to the actress to show his support.

Redmans excitement is inspiring. She has a great sense of humor and claims talking with her mouth closed is her secret talent. Inspired by comedians, Amy Poehler, Tina, Fay, and Melissa McCarthy her positive attitude will leave you smiling.

You can see Redman in the Broadway production at the St. James Theatre. If you would like to see the production closer to home Frozen will be embarking on a North American tour later this year.
