Exciting New Experiences Available to Disney Vacation Club Members

Located at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Reunion Station is a peaceful and secluded hideaway where Disney Vacation Club members can now dine and relax in a private railroad-inspired lounge. Access to this member-exclusive parlor is newly available as a paid add-on option for all eligible DVC members.

Exciting New Experiences Available to Disney Vacation Club Members

Members are now able to enjoy the lounge’s continental breakfast, light snacks, drinks, and even take classes for an additional fee. Those who add this option to their vacation will enjoy traditional breakfast fare from 7-10 a.m. daily, and wine, beer, hors-d’oeuvres, desserts and more from 4-6 p.m. This feature costs $50 for adults and $33 for kids aged 3-9 per day before tax.

Exciting New Experiences Available to Disney Vacation Club Members

DVC members also have access to captivating workshops including cake decorating, phone photography, animation and more. The cake decorating workshop is $65 per person, while all other offerings are $40 per person, including tax and gratuity. Party sizes are limited to a maximum of four people, including the DVC member. Participants younger than 18 must be accompanied by a paying, participating parent or guardian.

DVC members may call Member Services now for details on how to add Reunion Station lounge access and workshops to their vacation plans. Reservations may be made up to 180 days in advance.

By the end of the year, the Walt Disney Company will flip the switch on its new 50-megawatt solar power facility. In typical Disney fashion, the facility is yet another hidden bit of magic just outside the Animal Kingdom, comprised of more than a half-million solar panels and spread over the 270-acre designated renewable energy area. Once operational, the solar panels will generate enough to fully power two of the four parks at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

This is the not the first step Disney has taken to change its practices and reduce its environmental footprint, but it is a big one and designed to work with local energy partners to keep pushing the bar of responsibility. In fact, the new facility is a collaboration with the Reedy Creek Improvement District as well as solar project developer Origis Energy USA. Not far away in central Florida, Disney opened another solar facility over 22 acres with 48,000 solar panels, this time in the shape of Mickey Mouse’s head. For this project, they partnered with Duke Energy in a further show of their commitment to going green. Disney is quickly emerging as a renewable energy force and other companies are following suit.

Going forward, Disney is learning from its mistakes and pushing on. In 2015, it tried out a new line of “green” buses but found they didn’t reduce carbon emission enough. But with that experience, three new cruise ships will set sail in 2021, 2022, and 2023 that run on clean-burning liquefied natural gas.

Walt Disney dreamed of sustainable parks, leading to Epcot. Following in his steps and dreams, Mark Penning, vice president of Disney’s Animals, Science, and Environment, lives a daily routine of sustainable practices. With the Disney legacy standing tall, Dr. Penning pushes for the Walt Disney Company to be recognized worldwide, “Not just for creating incredible content, but for being a responsible citizen of the world.”

Dates Announced for EPCOT 2019 International Festival of the Arts

Disney just released the dates of the upcoming EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. The festival will run from January 18 through February 25, 2019.

If you haven’t attended this before you are missing out on a truly wonderful experience.

The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts festival will be held every day of the week and feature amazing exhibitions, artistic food presentations, Disney on Broadway Concert Series, and so much more.

AMAZING EXHIBITIONS

Walk around EPCOT’s World Showcase and you’ll find breathtaking fine art collections from Disney artists. What a thrill it is to meet the artist behind a beloved piece.

You may also want to sit down and listen to free seminars where Disney artists and illustrators share stories.

On certain days and for an additional fee (registration required) join a talented Disney artist in an art class. No experience required. Dates and times will be posted soon.

Grab your group and pose for a picture! Fun festival only PhotoPass opportunities are placed all around the World Showcase. Imagine jumping into a famous Van Gogh or Monet masterpiece.

Ever say that food looks too good to eat? Well at the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts that’s exactly what you will be saying.

All around EPCOT you will find dazzling dishes and desserts presented as a work of art.

DISNEY ON BROADWAY CONCERT SERIES

Listen as your favorite Disney songs are performed by an array of talented Disney on Broadway stars.

For this upcoming festival, the series will be presented daily at the American Gardens Theater.

Every 2 weeks different pairs of Disney on Broadway stars will hit the stage performing some songs they even helped make famous.

Check back for dates and artist lineups soon.

Once again Disney on Broadway dining packages will be offered. Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at certain EPCOT restaurants then sit down in your guaranteed priority seating that evening. Limited seats are available so make sure to check soon for packages.

So don’t miss the 2019 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts where you can eat artistic food creations, take an art class from a Disney artist, jump into a work of art, sing along with Disney on Broadway performers, and so much more.

2 new Halloween Donuts debut at Disneyland

2 new Halloween Donuts have debuted at the Donut Cart in Disneyland just in time for my favorite fall holiday.

Featured above is the festive Worms in Dirt Halloween Donut. Topped with candy worms and Oreo dirt this new donut will put you into the Halloween spirit.

Also new at the Donut Cart is the Graveyard Donut. Decorated with a candy tombstone and Oreo Crumb “dirt” for decoration.

These sweet treats can be found at the Coffee Cart near the entrance of Frontierland for $6 each!

Delicious Bon Voyage Breakfast with Ariel and Rapunzel

Are you looking for a character breakfast with old world flair? We have just the dining experience for you and your family. Head over to Disney’s Boardwalk. This Italian themed restaurant takes you back in time where fairytales come to life.

As soon as you are seated a skillet of beautiful pastries is placed before you to enjoy while you look over the menu.

If you are unsure what to order, look no further than the open kitchen – dishes are prepared before your eyes and on display! Helpful chefs will identify each dish.

Once I selected my entree and had my fill of buttery pastries, I washed it all down with a customized Italian Iced Coffee

Amaretto is an adult add-in and there are child-friendly options as well.

Our entrees arrived in short order and they were delicious. I selected Two Eggs Underwater – fennel sausage, Sunday gravy (the Italian version of gravy, RED sauce), parmesan cheese over golden polenta with toasted focaccia. For little ones with smaller tummies, Tower of Pancakes – fluffy buttermilk pancakes with seasonal fruit compote and choice of bacon or sausage, is a good choice. Just look at the decoration on top!

If you truly love a tradtional italian dish, the calzone, try the breakfast version of this classic. King Triton’s Shipwreck Al Forno – calzone with scrambled egg, bell peppers, salumi, bacon, sausage, blend of cheeses and sunday gravy. YUM!

The Royal Breakfast – a choice fit for a king, or queen! Oak-grilled steak, cooked to order, cheesy egg torte and fonduta with breakfast potatos and crisy onions.

Lets not forget the best part of the breakfast, CHARACTERS we love! The lighting is low and glows from intricate chandeliers. The dinning room is cosy and warm and you feel like you are the only one in the room when the lovely Ariel and gracious Rapunzel make their appearence.

Prince Eric and Flynn are not far behind as Ariel and Rapunzel pause to chat, take photos and sign autographs.

Reservations are suggested, some dining plans are accepted. Characters are for breakfast only.

Fans of Epcot’s World Showcase can now find an assortment of collectibles inspired by the flags of the countries that make up the Showcase. The New World Showcase Collectibles are available at Mouse Gear, and the collection features collectibles that include glasses, ornaments, and apparel.

If you haven’t been lately you should run over and check out what’s new at Walt Disney World’s BoardWalk. Now there’s more than just exquisite dining, shopping, art galleries, and swinging nightlife at the charming turn-of-the-century Atlantic City style quarter-mile promenade of Walt Disney World’s BoardWalk. For a limited time on certain days of the week guests can participate in “Experiences on the Boards” featuring special creative activities. Here are the 3 activities being offered at Disney’s BoardWalk.

Canvas Painting on the Boards – $50

Now you don’t have to be a Disney Vacation Club member to participate in painting classes at Walt Disney World. Every Tuesday at Disney’s Trattoria al Forno restaurant from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm guests can take an instructor-led canvas painting class where you can paint your own masterpiece and channel your inner Van Gogh. Each week a different art piece will be featured. Seating is very limited and you must pre-register at the Community Hall inside Disney’s BoardWalk Villas.

Wine Glass Painting – $50

Recently added and every Thursday at the magician themed AbracadaBar from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm guests can take an instructor-led wine glass painting class. This relatively new opportunity lets each guest paint 2 wine glasses. Seating is very limited and you must pre-register at the Community Hall inside Disney’s BoardWalk Villas.

Design Your Own Wire Mickey Ears – $25

Every Saturday on the BoardWalk’s Village Green from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and every Wednesday at Disney’s Trattoria al Forno restaurant from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm guests can join in designing their own wire Mickey ears. Who doesn’t love custom made ears? Pre-registration is not required.
