The Greatest Showman was a surprising box office hit in 2017. The musical featuring Hugh Jackman wowed audiences with its performances and songs inspired by the life of P.T. Barnum. It currently sits as the third highest-grossing musical movie to date and was nominated for three Golden Globes (taking home the award for Best Song) and an Oscar. This was all despite dismal early predictions for the film’s performance. Now we have word that work on a sequel to the film is currently underway.
Director Michael Gracey spoke recently with The Sun and revealed that he and Hugh Jackman were already fast at work on a new film. “When a movie becomes as big a success as this, it’s only natural there is demand for a sequel.” “So those discussions have started and we are working on one right now,” Gracey said. At this point, details aren’t currently known for the script or any returning actors other than Jackman. Songwriters Pasek and Paul who helped to make the first film a hit with their music, are expected to return to write the new score.
The Greatest Showman was released by 20th Century Fox, which is currently in the process of being acquired by Disney. This means that the sequel will technically be a Disney film. Although it’s not known if it will carry the Fox label, or if Disney will rebrand the company after absorbing it.

The Walt Disney World Resort is making some major changes in the parks and around the resort property. Switching to solar energy, with a new solar facility, is just one of them. Walt Disney Resort now has a massive, 270-acre, 50-megawatt operation happening that is expected to give enough power from the sun to operate two of its four Orlando theme parks!
Walt Disney World build a 22-acre, 5-megawatt solar facility in the shape of Mickey Mouse’s ears near Epcot in 2016. The latest facility makes the other one miniscule.
They are stating this will significantly reduce net greenhouse gas emissions.
“What this allows us to do is to reduce greenhouse emission by tens of thousands of times per year, in addition to making great progress towards out zero net emission goal,” Disney Environmental Integration Director Angie Renner said.
Disney’s goal is to reduce emissions by 50% by 2020, compared to 2012. The new facility hosts more than 500,000 solar panels to produce energy.

The 2019 Disney Princess Half Marathon has been completed at the Walt Disney World Resort this past weekend. Presented by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, over 56,000 princesses and princes alike completed the half marathon. The marathon was a weekend full of memories for those who participated!
The event took off with the Disney Princess 5K with an adventurous 3.1 miles of excitement. Familias participating in the 2019 Disney Princess Half Marathon 5K portion celebrated the beautiful la princesa, Elena of Avalor!
The Disney Princess Enchanted 10K was a race worth fighting for with those who participated during the event. Featuring Mulan, participants were warriors who courageously battled the 6.2-mile course during the 2019 Disney Princess Half Marathon event!
The 2019 Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend ended in a Magical way for those who participated in the 13.1-mile course featuring Aurora. Finishing out the marathon with her first runDisney event win with her fairy-tale ending time of 1:18:30 is first place winner Jackie Pirtle-Hall! Congratulations, Jackie! As Captain Marvel is set to hit theaters soon to save Earth from a galactic battle, Dole is set to celebrate female superheroes closer to home. Have you been waiting for the summer 2020 Disney Cruise Line itineraries to be released? Today is your day! Disney Cruise Line has announced Summer 2020 itineraries for sail dates from May through September. The ships will be located at destinations around the globe.
The Disney Wonder will spend the summer months sailing Alaska. Sailing from Vancouver, the Wonder will offer 7-night itineraries. In past years a 9-night option was available that included the Hubbard Glacier, but this longer itinerary will not be available in 2020.
The Disney Magic will leave Miami and head to Europe. Sailings will include Europe and the Mediterranean. Greece has been added back to the schedule with one 12-night and two 9-night sailings. Ports and destinations include Messina, Dubrovnik, Piraeus, Katakolon, Santorini, Mykonos, and Crete. Sailings in Europe will include several new ports, such as Gdynia, Nordfjordeid, Plymouth, and others.
The larger ships of the fleet, the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy will continue to remain in Port Canaveral offereing the very popular Bahamian and Caribbean sailings. There are more itinerary options for the summer sailings with 5-night and 9-night options being added to the Fantasy’s regular 7-night options. Additionally, the Disney Fantasy will offer three-, four-, and five-night itineraries to the Bahamas with stops at Castaway Cay. The Dream will continue to offer Bahamian itineraries, with the option of three-, four-, or five-night sailings making for a great quick getaway.
Adventures by Disney options will also be available to book, including pre-cruise escapes.
All four ships will continue with the high standard of service, fantastic themed dining locations, and exceptional entertainment including Broadway-style shows the cruise line is known for providing.
While the itineraries have been released booking will not open to the general public until March 7, 2019. Disney Sorcerer’s Arena is a collaboration between Disney and Glu Mobile Inc. It will feature a bold RPG world where Disney and Pixar characters are unleashed onto a strategic battlefield.
In the game, players will reveal a competitive world where Disney and Pixar franchises meet. They can collect a team of both champions and villains to battle in single-player and PvP modes. Players can choose from a vault of battle-ready characters with their own special abilities, powers, and magic spells. The goal is to become the mightiest sorcerer by completing quests to earn rewards, taking on opponents in a challenging landscape, and collecting talismans.

Walt Disney World will never be finished because it is always evolving.
Last week, Disney announced the Epcot park entrance is going to be undergoing some pretty big changes. Planned enhancements are coming soon to Epcot giving the park’s entrance quite a refreshing look. The enhancements are expected to start soon.
Epcot is creating a unique entrance with green spaces, a play pavilion, and a reimagined fountain. The play space will be located in the former Wonders of Life Pavillion. The interactive play space will open just before the 50th-anniversary celebration begins. The leave a legacy feature will be relocating to make way for the new entrance features.
Entrance enhancements have also come to Hollywood Studios. Changes to the bus waiting area and the installation of the new Skyliner will hopefully help with the expected added traffic of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening this fall. Coming and going is also now easier with the new entrance to the parking lot. The entrance off Osceola Parkway opened last year.
Both Epcot and Hollywood Studios have major changes coming beyond the entrance enhancements. Last year, Hollywood Studios opened Toy Story Land and later this year Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will make its debut. Epcot is seeing multiple new attractions and experiences in both Future World and the World Showcase. Some of these include a Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure attraction, updates to the 360 degree shows in both the China and Canada Pavillions, the Space 220 restaurant, and Epcot Forever a new nighttime show to replace Illuminations: Reflections of Earth until a more permanent show is installed in 2020.
These enhancements will hopefully vastly improve the traffic flow around the resorts and into the parks. The construction is a multi-phase project that will contribute to an overall improved guest experience.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is coming to Disneyland Resort this summer, and to Walt Disney World Resort this fall! In anticipation of the epic grand opening D23 has revealed some of the exciting new Galactic Star Wars Gear we can expect to see at Galaxy’s Edge!
There will be several merchandise locations to explore, each with it’s own fun theme and design. These galactic new locations include the Droid Depot, Savi’s Workshop, Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, the Creature Stall, Resistance Supply, First Order Cargo, and Black Spire Outfitters.
Build your own working Droid!
The Droid Depot is located in the market, and is a unique place where guests can pick parts and pieces off a conveyor belt, then build and customize their astromech droids (R-series or BB-series). What sets this apart from the Droid building stations we have now, is that these Droids are a larger scale and capable of interacting with elements in the land, and responding to guests’ behaviors. Additional programming chips and accessories can be added to the droids to further customize their abilities too.
The Droid Depot will also offer guests pre-built droids, including a C-3PO who has quite a bit to say (especially if you “accidentally” take off his head and put it on backwards!) and a Rex who that uses Bluetooth to play whatever music you have on your smartphone. The shop will also offer droid-inspired products and more for fans of Droid equality!
Will you embrace the Light Side or the Dark Side of the Force?
At Savi’s Workshop guests can create and build their very own lightsaber! This will take the lightsaber creation to the next level! During a guided tour, each guest will have the option to choose from four Kyber Crystal options, which is the very heart of each lightsaber. You’ll have the opportunity to choose from: Peace Justice (modeled after Jedi from the Republic era); Power Control (a nod to the Sith); Elemental Nature (harnessing air, earth, fire, and water); and Defense (shrouded in mystery). Which Kyber Crystal will you embrace?
Ancient Holocrons
Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities will enchant visitors to a selection of mysterious and rare items for sale representing different eras of the Star Wars galaxy. Ancient Jedi and Sith artifacts like holocrons (seen above)which were ancient repositories of wisdom will be available along with lightsabers, and more. You may even notice Dok at his desk, checking his inventory, taking calls, and barking orders at his assistants when you visit.
Adopt a Star Wars Creature!
The Creature Stall is where guests can find some fascinating and unusual beasts from all across the galaxy. Guests can bring home a new friend from a galaxy far, far away including friendly ones like porgs, tauntauns to the not-so-friendly ones like rathtars, and wampas.
The Toydarian Toymaker stall will have an offering of items crafted by its namesake alien, from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. The grumpy Toydarian will peddle artisan-style plush characters, wood and tin toys, and instruments that will delight the padawans.
Resistance Supply is a “makeshift” resource location at the Resistance’s hidden command post. Guests will find badges, hats, pins, and other accessories to help them feel like part of the cause.
First Order Cargo lurks on the edge of the Market and is a temporary storage dock. Easily identified by a never-before-seen First Order TIE echelon, it gives interstellar tourists a chance to pledge their loyalty to the First Order by purchasing caps, gear, model ships, pins, and more.
Brad Schoeneberg, director, Merchandise Strategy & New Park Experience Development, Walt Disney World Resort, explained a bit about the First Order Cargo’s vendors. “This is the first place they touched down. They are trying to win the hearts and minds of locals with propaganda and merch.”
Black Spire Outfitters will offer guests the chance to mix and match clothing to create their own unique galactic style.
You won’t find your basic big box store every day Star Wars Merchandise at the Black Spire Outport, everything was created specifically for Galaxy’s Edge. Brad Schoeneberg explained “We’re giving today’s consumers an experience only we can deliver.These items reflect the stories of yore, as they’ve been told throughout Black Spire Outpost. With a vast array of innovative goods” he adds, “[There are] many levels of discovery.”

Jonas Brothers Releasing First Single in Six Years. Earlier this week rumors were swirling that the Jonas Brothers would be reuniting and fans all over the world have been waiting with baited breath for any news from the brothers.
According to UsWeekly, and now The Jonas Brothers themselves, the rumors are TRUE! The band of brothers will be releasing their first single in six years titled, “Sucker”.
We will finally get to hear new music from the group since their very abrupt break up in 2013.
