Who doesn’t want to add a little bit of Disney magic to their office, or desk space? This adorable Disney Castle Organizer not only looks cute, but helps keep everything tidy too. I really do love decorations that are as functional as it is attractive.

This handy little castle has two large compartments, and six smaller compartments to help keep everything neat and tidy. It’s perfect for any desk for sorting a variety of items, business cards, pens, stationary, you name it! You don’t have to use it just for office supplies though, it is also great for organizing makeup, or miscellaneous items by the door. The organizer is styled after Cinderella Castle, complete with blue turrets. It’s sturdy, and weighted enough not to topple over too. With so many useful options for it, I might have to get more than one!

New Photos of Coronado Springs Resort Construction Progress

Check Out Photos of the Construction Progression at Coronado Springs Resort

Disney is always finding new and exciting experiences to bring to the guests who visit the Disney Parks. One of the more well known updates has been a major face lift to the Coronado Springs Resort at Walt Disney World Resort. This update includes a 15-Story Tower bringing an additional 1800+ rooms with it, new walk ways over the scenic Lago Dorado, and a beautiful new water front dining location aptly named “Villa del Lago”. Here at Chip and Co. we have been monitoring the resorts progress and recently visited Coronado Springs Resort to get some updated photos of the construction progression.

Last we showed the framework was mostly complete and now we can see that the skeleton of the building is being covered by siding and weather barrier. In the photo below we can see they have finished the bottom portion of the walkway and are in the process of putting the protective fencing and stanchions up along the walkway edges. These walkways will allow guests to travel across the resort with ease and comfort all while taking in the never before seen views from Lago Dorado point of view. The walkways are clearly still blocked from guest usage at the moment until construction is complete.

Villa Del Lago is located on an island constructed in the middle of Lago Dorado and will have easy access walkways from both ends of the resort. Diners will have a gorgeous view of the Resort and Waterfront at this table service dining location.

AR Costumes- Exciting Innovations from Disney Research- When you have the most amazing designers and Imagineers in the world at your disposal, anything is possible. Disney Research has done it again. AR costumes, Augmented Reality costumes is what we are talking about. Taking the image of a person/actor in plain clothing with digital markers on strategic points on their body, used for positioning and then applying the magic behind the scenes in production to add costuming. Think Iron Man, the amazing red suit. Some of the images in the film involve a physical suit worn by the actor, much of what we see onscreen is added later, in a computer lab.

In plain English- this means developers at Disney Research have created a method to speed up and vastly improve this intensive process. Typically overlaying a CG (computer generated)costume onto a human form involves a tremendous amount of modeling and fine-tuning of the image. With this new proposed technology, there is much less work involved, the costume is applied with greater accuracy and in a shorter time period. Technology is evolving and you can read more here!

Star Wars: Path of the Jedi Closed at Hollywood Studios

Star Wars: Path of the Jedi Closed at Hollywood Studios. We had been getting reports that this closure had taken place so we went to Hollywood Studios this morning to check it out. Sure enough, we found the closure sign out front. Cast Members said they are not sure when or if they will be re-opening the attraction. With the opening of Galaxy’s Edge, we are sure that they are making way for more additions to the new Star Wars Land. This closure could be making way for these updates or it could possibly just be a temporary closure.

STATION 19 – “Weather the Storm” – As the team gathers for a Friendsgiving celebration at Dean’s, a violent windstorm touches down in Seattle. A CHARLIE BROWN THANKSGIVING – In the 1973 special, “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving,” created by late cartoonist Charles M. Schulz, Charlie Brown wants to do something special for the gang. However, the dinner he arranges is a disaster when the caterers, Snoopy and Woodstock, prepare toast and popcorn as the main dish. Humiliated, it will take all of Marcie’s persuasive powers to salvage the holiday for Charlie Brown. A special bonus cartoon from Charles M. Schulz, “This Is America, Charlie Brown: The Mayflower Voyagers,” will air with the Peanuts classic, in which history comes to animated screen life in a captivating and informative program about the Mayflower voyagers. The special will air with Spanish audio via SAP. In “This Is America, Charlie Brown: The Mayflower Voyagers,” the year is 1620. After 65 grueling, sea-tossed days, the Pilgrims are in view of America’s shores – and Charlie Brown and the Peanuts crew are with them as they experience firsthand the lifestyle of the early settlers and celebrate the first Thanksgiving. MARY POPPINS SPECIAL (ABC NEWS) – “Mary Poppins Returns: Behind the Magic – A Special Edition of 20/20” takes viewers behind the scenes of “Mary Poppins” as the iconic character returns to the big screen. The special features exclusive interviews with cast and crew. (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

I’M COMING HOME (ABC NEWS) – “I’m Coming Home” will follow stars as they visit their childhood homes and reconnect with their roots and the people who shaped who they are today. The docu-style format will capture the emotional and transformational journey back to the place where it all began. Stars like Emmy® and Tony® Award-winning actress Kristen Chenoweth will visit her first home and high school, and reconnect with friends, teachers and family who still live there today. The visit back home will also include a surprise payoff where the star will give back to their community. The hour will also include celebrities like Tiffany Haddish and Tyler Perry sharing memories of their childhood and what going home means to them. “I’m Coming Home” is executive produced by Whoopi Goldberg in partnership with award-winning filmmakers Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato of World of Wonder Productions. November is almost here, and with the new month will come lots of new Holiday Disney Trading Pins! November will see the debut of many delightful pin assortments including pins for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays.

The pins I’m most excited about this month are the ugly sweater mystery pins, I love how cute they are! Several anniversary date pins will make their debut, in addition to the special character of the month pins. New Holiday Pins will wish you Seasons Greetings, and Mele Kalikimaka, and I’m especially loving the new Hanukkah pin starring Donald Duck.

There are some new event pins as well for Dapper Day, Hollywood Studios Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam.

If you’re a fan of Adventureland at Disneyland Park, chances are you’ve enjoyed Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room. The attraction has been a staple at both Disneyland and Disney World and has Walt’s fingerprints on it, as it was one of this first ideas for a theme park attraction.

What you may have noticed is that Rosita the cockatoo has been MIA at the Tiki Room’s bird mobile chorus. Well now the mystery is solved, and we are happy to report that Rosita has chosen to pursue a solo career at the new Tropical Hideaway that will open later this year in Adventureland at Disney World. The new hotspot in Adventureland will be an exotic and exciting marketplace where Guests can try unique food and beverages.

There will also be lots of vibrant wildlife at the Tropical Hideaway. You’ll find Rosita near the river’s edge at the loading dock. Be sure to say hello when you see her, but be warned, she has quite a wit and humor to her–not unlike the Skippers on the Jungle Cruise attraction!

Universal Studios Hollywood’s 14th annual “Day of Giving” Event

Hundreds of employee volunteers band together in support of Universal Studios Hollywood’s 14th annual “Day of Giving” community outreach event as the destination once again plays host to 300 homeless children from Operation School Bell.

The inspirational “Day of Giving” event is a yearly Universal Studios Hollywood tradition designed to connect employees with diverse community organizations, many of which are beneficiaries of the Discover A Star Foundation whose mission is to empower individuals and families to lead more productive and fulfilling lives.

As part of the event, children will receive a selection of new clothing and school supplies, followed by an afternoon of fun that includes a visit to “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter,” a chance encounter with Minions to experience the popular “Despicable Me Minion Mayhem” ride and “Super Silly Fun Land” play zone, and a behind-the-scenes look at how movies are made on the world-famous Studio Tour.

The day-long event will also support several other non-profit organizations across Project Angel Food, Tree People, MEND, Union Rescue Mission and Shane’s Inspiration.
