Magic Kingdom Closing Early November 5th, 2018

The Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort is closing early on Monday, November 5th. The park is scheduled to close at 4:30 pm. This is in order for the Walt Disney World Resort to host their annual Cast Member recognition event. The Service Celebration event recognizes Cast Members celebrating 10 or more years of service. There is a special fireworks show scheduled for the event at 9:30 pm. This special show is for event guests only.

Take a moment during your vacation to thank a Cast Member for all they do! They truly are magic makers! I would also like to take a moment to congratulate those Cast Members who will be celebrating some amazing milestones at the festivities!

If you are staying at the Walt Disney World Resort on November 5th, 2018, the other parks will be open during the evening. Here are there hours:

Epcot 9 am – 9 pm
Disney’s Hollywood Studios 9 am – 8 pm
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park 9 am – 8 pm (with extra magic hours from 8 am – 9 am for Walt Disney World Resort guests)

And don’t forget that Disney Springs will be open until midnight!

Captain Marvel coming to Disneyland Paris!

Captain Marvel coming to Disneyland Paris! The Marvel Season of Super Heroes is set to return to Walt Disney Studios Park from March 23 to June 16, 2019. Disneyland Paris has announced Groot, from Guardians of the Galaxy will appear alongside Starlord and Gamora to help save the galaxy. Furthermore, to celebrate the release of her movie, Captain Marvel will be making her first-ever appearance during the Marvel Season of Super Heroes.

Captain Marvel will hit cinemas before Avengers 4 (title yet to be confirmed) and will be a prequel set in the 1990s and will follow Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the greatest super heroes in the universe, helping Earth battle between two alien races! The film stars Brie Larson as Captain Marvel as well as Samuel L Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn and many more. Beaches & Cream Adds New Colossal Specialty Shakes

The Beaches & Cream Soda Shop has added three new colossal specialty shakes to their menu. Everyone’s favorite ice cream and soda fountain at Disney’s Beach Club Resort has taken the milkshake to the next level.

The three new specialty milkshakes are available in the dine-in side only. The shop opens promptly at 11 am. If you are unable to snag a reservation, ask to be seated at the counter.

Chocolate Brownie Milkshake – $14

Beaches & Cream Soda Shop Adds New Colossal Specialty Shakes

The Chocolate Brownie Milkshake is deliciously monstrous! First, the souvenir mug is drizzled with chocolate sauce and decorated with chocolate sprinkles as milk chocolate shake is poured in. An ooey-gooey chocolate drizzled brownie and chocolate shavings top off this shake.

Strawberry Minnie Milkshake – $14

The Strawberry Minnie Milkshake is almost too adorable to eat. Strawberry sauce is drizzled inside the souvenir mug, and then, the strawberry shake is poured in. Last but not least, the Beach Club Minnie Mouse cupcake is placed on top. This milkshake is a showstopper.

Mickey Confetti Milkshake – $14

The Mickey Confetti Milkshake is a birthday party in a mug! The souvenir mug is decked out with multicolor sprinkles and filled with a classic vanilla milkshake. The icing on this “cake” is the cute Mickey Mouse confetti cupcake.

Overall Thoughts

Yum-O! The three new colossal specialty shakes at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop are scrumptious! They are all made with three heaping scoops of ice cream. The souvenir mugs will make a fun Disney World vacation memento too. Mobile Ordering Now Available at Universal Studios Orlando

The Official Universal Orlando Resort App now has Mobile Ordering available. Place your order on the app and go pick it up without waiting in line. Currently participating restaurants are Mel’s Drive-In, Richter’s Burger Co., and The Burger Digs, with more on the way. Keep an eye on your map for the symbol below to find participating restaurants.

Mobile Ordering Now Available at Universal Studios Orlando

They have provided step by step instructions to make it quick and easy. First, download the app and create yourself an account. Set up your wallet so you have a way to pay through the app. Go to the main menu and click “Order Food and Drinks.” This will bring up a list of participating restaurants you can choose from. Check out the menu, and choose what you would like. Confirm your order, and go to the checkout. Once you place your order, it will be ready for you to send it to the restaurant. Once you get to the restaurant, tap “Prepare My Order” to let them know you are there. Head over to the Mobile Express Pick Up sign, and they will hand you your food order.

One note that is that the app is not compatible with using a passholder discount, gift cards, or a dining plan. If you are planning to use one of those options, you will have to see a cashier. You can use mobile ordering during regular park hours starting now. It is also available at Mel’s Drive-In and Richter’s Burger Co. during Halloween Horror Nights. Keep an eye out for some more exciting changes in the coming months!

Actress Mackenzie Foy Visits Disney World

Mackenzie Foy visited Walt Disney World last week, and it was her first ever trip to the most magical place on earth!

Foy plays Clara in Disney’s upcoming The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. While she was at Disney World, she took some time to enjoy Andy’s backyard at Hollywood Studios’ new Toy Story Land. She also posed for pictures in front of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom before moving on to explore the rest of the park.

Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms hits theaters on November 2. Based on E.T.A. Hoffman’s The Nutcracker and the Mouse King and Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, Disney’s version of the famed holiday tale centers around young Clara (played by Mackenzie Foy). During the season of giving, receiving and wishes coming true, all Clara hopes for is a key–one that will unlock a box that holds a very special gift from her mother. At a Christmas party, she is given a golden thread at Godfather Drosselmeyer’s annual Christmas party, which ultimately leads her to the key.

Just as Clara finds the key, however, it disappears into a parallel world. She meets a soldier named Phillip (played by Jayden Fowora-Knight), as well as a group of mice and dignitaries who rule over the Three Realms–Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. The fourth Realm, however, is ruled by the tyrant Mother Ginger (played by Helen Mirren), and Clara and Phillip must traverse the fourth Realm in hopes of getting Clara’s key back.

The film is directed by Lasse Hallstrom and Joe Johnston and produced by Walt Disney Studios. See it in theaters this Friday.

In 2019, Disney Cruise Line guests will be the first to meet Captain Marvel when she makes her debut during Marvel Day at Sea. New Themes Announced for the 2019 Star Wars Rival Run Weekend! Star Wars Rival Run Weekend is returning to Walt Disney World Resort. Races are scheduled to occur from April 4-7, 2019. While the race weekend is still 6 months away racers are hard at work to prepare for their runs. Some racers even dress head to toe as their favorite and most iconic Star Wars Characters. To help with their preparation Disney has released the new themes for each individual race.

Star Wars Rival Run 5K : Finn and Captain Phasma

Star Wars Rival Run 10K : Han Solo and Boba Fett

Star Wars Rival Run Half Marathon : Rey and Kylo Ren

Star Wars Rival Run Challenge : Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader

For racers who want to master the runDisney Kessel Run Challenge, and become one with the force, must complete both the Star Wars Rival Run Half Marathon at Walt Disney World Resort and the Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon. The Star Wars Virtual Marathon will be represented by one of the droids we are looking for, R2-D2.

Racers, who register before January 15, 2019 for the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Challenge, will get to choose which side they represent, the light or the dark side of the force. Those who choose a side before the deadline will be represented on their race bibs based on their decision. For racers who register after the deadline, the force will chose whether you run for the light or dark side during the race weekend.

Haven’t signed up yet? No worries. There are still spots available for both the 2019 Star Wars Rival Run Weekend races and the 2019 Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon. Ralph and Vanellope will be greeting guests in Hollywood Land at Disney’s California Adventure in Disneyland Resort and WDW as well! The sequel to Disney’s “Wreck-It Ralph”, “Ralph Breaks the Internet” comes to theaters November 21, 2018. Ralph and Vanellope don’t just break out of their games, oh no, this time they break out of the arcade itself and venture across the whole new world of the internet. Meeting many new characters, making some more friends, all while breaking the internet as we know it. If you are excited for the film’s release you are going to love the new meet and greets coming to the Disney Parks this November.

Starting November 9, 2018 Ralph and Vanellope will be greeting guests in Hollywood Land at Disney’s California Adventure in Disneyland Resort. Don’t worry, this dynamic duo will also be coming to Walt Disney World Resort. Ralph and Vanellope will be meeting and greeting guests at Innoventions West in EPCOT starting November 21, 2018. At EPCOT’s Innoventions West an new portal to other dimensions has been assembled which Ralph and Vanellope step through to interact with guests from EPCOT in the ImageWorks portion of the Imagination! pavilion.

Disney Park Guests on both coasts and everywhere in between are sure to enjoy both “Ralph Breaks the Internet” and these new characters meet and greet opportunities. See “Ralph Breaks the Internet” coming November 21.

Veterans Recieve Free Admission to Legoland All November Long

Google Home Brings Storytime to Dazzling Life

Google Home has a new fun feature for families! Beginning next week, you can purchase select Disney Little Golden Books that are compatible with the Google Home assistant. As you read aloud to your little ones, Google Home will play sound effects and music that go along with the story and help to bring it to life with a magic that only Disney can manufacture.

The fun begins when you say “Hey, Google, let’s read along with Disney,” which gives the signal to the Google Home assistant that you are about to begin Disney story time.

Thanks to the genius of Google’s technology and the magic of Disney, if you skip ahead in the story, the Google Home assistant instantly catches up to that point in the book and plays the corresponding sound effects and music. The timing is perfect and the sounds are seamless, meaning there are no long pauses or skipping while the Google Home assistant attempts to determine the point from which you’re reading.

If you pause in reading because of an interruption, a bathroom break or to answer question from your inquisitive little ones, the Google Home assistant also realizes that and adjusts. Instead of going forward and playing sound effects for the story after you’ve paused, the assistant plays calming music until you resume reading the book. Think of it as a musical intermission.

Several Google Home-compatible Disney Little Golden Book titles will be available beginning next week. Those include Moana, Toy Story 3, Jack-Jack Attack, Coco, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Cinderella, The Three Little Pigs, Mickey Mouse and His Spaceship and Mickey’s Christmas Carol. More titles will become available before the end of the year. Find the stories near the Google Home Mini displays at Wal-Mart, Target and Barnes and Noble retailers, and turn story time into a magical experience for you and your children to share.
