Full disclosure, my husband and I lived in Hawaii, and are spam fanatics! When I heard about the new pineapple spam cheeseburger at Captain Cook’s, I just had to try it.

This burger is a thing of island beauty. Grilled spam, spinach, melty gouda cheese, teriyaki mayonnaise, and grilled pineapple come together to create I think one of the best burgers on property. You have all the island flavors of sweet, savory and tangy all in one. Served with fries, order yours for $14.99 or one quick service credit on the Disney Dining Plan. A classic Magic Kingdom treat has gotten a makeover for the Holidays! Over at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in Liberty Square, the waffle sundae is dressed up for Christmas, sporting festive sprinkles. The biggest change though is the waffle itself. The traditional waffle has been transformed. What’s better than plain waffles? Red Velvet waffles of course! Topped with a mountain of whipped cream this deliciously festive treat is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Zero As if this sundae couldn’t get any better, it is also adorned with everyone’s favorite ghost dog- Zero. This should put an end to the age-old question: Is Nightmare Before Christmas a Halloween movie or a Christmas movie? The answer is clearly both!

2018 Jingle BAM! Park Maps Released At Hollywood Studios

Any avid holiday visitor to Walt Disney World is entirely familiar with all the Christmas fun at the Magic Kingdom. However, unlike other holidays in Disney parks, the decor and festivity aren’t just found at Cinderella’s Castle. Christmas trees abound through Disney Springs, resorts deck the halls, and holiday merchandise can be found at all stores around property. Hollywood Studios is no different. Through November 6th to January 6th of 2019, the park will hold its always awesome Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam celebration. And to get the festivities rolling, new park maps for the event were recently released…so…finish that eggnog and let’s take a look!

What’s New

So, what’s new this year? In a “flurry of fun” Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam is bringing with it light spectaculars, lasers, and sweet treats accompanied by some of your favorite characters. For starters, enjoy an enhanced Sunset Season Greeting at the Hollywood Tower Hotel. The staple park location transforms into a colorful holiday overlay with projections complete with laser effect and snow! I don’t know about you, but snow in Orlando is enough to get me excited! Need help finding times and locations…the new map has you covered! Of course, there is Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! As noted on the new map, the experience is complete with familiar tunes, fireworks, and some of your favorite holiday scenes featuring Pluto, Mickey, and Jack Skellington. In addition, there are several enhanced options pointed out on this year’s map. The Christmas Tree at Echo Lake has been upgraded a bit for that perfect photo op. So if you’ve been struggling to get those Instagram likes up, this is the spot for you!

So what else is new according to the map? Toy Story Land, of course! Check it out as all of your favorite characters don their jovial apparel! Not only are Buzz and Woody rocking awesome Christmas gear, but Andy’s backyard is also spruced up with a bit of holiday cheer to match! This is a great addition to some of the more familiar map information such as Santa and the For the First Time in Forever sing along.

Treats and Sweaters!

Of course, no holiday map at Disney parks would be complete without directing you towards the one thing we all love about Walt Disney World…FOOD! Get those delectable holiday treats that can only be found around this time of year at several locations…all pinpointed to make finding their location a Christmas miracle! The same can be said for merchandise as well! Need to know where to pick up that 2018 Christmas ornament or ugly Christmas sweater while getting merry at Hollywood Studios? This map has the answers!

So, if you’re planning on rocking around the Christmas tree at Hollywood Studios this holiday season be sure to pick up a map as you enter. It’s a great way to make sure you enjoy all the holiday fun that the park has to offer. In addition, they make fun keepsakes. Beautifully designed and extremely informative, they aren’t just chock-full of holiday information, but also an appealing souvenir. Disney VoluntEARS support City of Hope’s Walk for Hope

Disney VoluntEARS stretched their muscles and put on their running shoes last weekend. Over 100 of Disney’s volunteers took part in the part in the City of Hope’s Walk for Hope 2K/5K. The walk raises money for research into treatments for women’s cancers. Disney is known for its long history of supporting hospitals like City of Hope and providing financial backing, character visits and more.

This year’s walk was different. Disney Parks Chairman Bob Chapek served as Chair of the Walk for Hope for the 2018 walk.

Chapek said, “We all know someone who has been impacted by cancer—and some of us are fortunate enough to have had City of Hope in our family’s corner during that fight. City of Hope saves lives, brings people together, and gives hope to thousands, and I was thrilled by the opportunity to support them in this meaningful way.”

It’s one of Disney’s top priorities to continue growing Walt’s legacy. The VoluntEARS, as they are endearingly referred to, have provided well over 10 million hours of service across the globe since the volunteer program began over 35 years ago at Disneyland.

“My family has been impacted by cancer, and research hospitals like City of Hope give women the edge they need to keep fighting,” said Shelby Grasser, Team Disney VoluntEARS Captain. “I’m proud to join Disney and our amazing VoluntEARS team to support and raise funds for this critical research.”

“Supporting City of Hope with more than 100 Disney VoluntEARS from across the company was an incredible experience,” said Chairman Bob Chapek. “I am constantly amazed—but never surprised—by the giving spirit of our Cast Members, and today was no exception.”

First On Site Brewery Coming to Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort

Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA, has been going through some updates and refurbishments through 2018. With the recent reopening of the flagship store, World of Disney, as well as new shops and renovated portions of existing restaurants, Disney has announced an exciting first time addition to the assortment of entertainment and dining locations of Downtown Disney by adding a brewery.

Ballast Point, a well known brewery based in San Diego, CA, will be opening their first ever Orange County location in the Downtown Disney District in the fall of 2018.

The eatery will be a 7,000 sq. ft. location that houses a tasting room, outdoor beer garden, brewery, and kitchen. The menu will included popular items from Ballast Points established menu from their other locations, as well as a few select items that will be exclusive to the Downtown Disney location. Some well known dishes such as a house-made pretzel w/ beer mustard and their delicious Baja-style fish tacos will be featured, as well as an assortment of seasonal offerings such as a variety of flatbreads, salads, and entrees. Speaking of entrees, Ballast Point will also have an beer portfolio to pair your food and beverages together to further your dining experience. Ballast Point will have a diverse menu for guests, but one of the best perks is that they will have children’s menus available as well as vegetarian and gluten-free options. Guests of all ages are welcome to come and enjoy this one-of-a-kind dining experience.

In 1965, Walt Disney created the Disney Ambassador Program. For more than 50 years, Disney Ambassadors have acted as representatives of goodwill for the Disney destinations they represent. These Disney Ambassadors represent approximately 150,000 cast members, crew members and Imagineers across the globe. Staying true to Walt’s vision, the Disney Ambassador program keeps moving forward, spreading magic throughout the parks and beyond! On January 1st, these 11 Ambassadors will begin serving at their respective locations. We can’t wait to see them in action!

Disney Welcomes 2019-2020 Ambassador Team

Earlier this week, the incoming class of Disney Ambassadors visited California as part of their extensive and immersive training, which includes getting an inside look at some of Disney’s most exciting experiences. Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration has begun at Disney’s Magic Kingdom! Chip and Co were on hand tonight as the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party rocked and rolled into the park. From festive decor and live entertainment, this party is one of the best in all of the parks. We had a blast!

If you’re anything like us, you’ve spent waaaay too much money in The Ganachery at Disney Springs. Get ready to say goodbye to even more money and hello to delicious Christmas Chocolates! Take a look at what they are serving up this holiday season.

Eggnog flavors with Bourbon and dark chocolate? Yum! Sign us up! That coffee doesn’t look half bad either!

Peppermint Mocha lovers take note: This dark chocolate and peppermint chocolate square tastes very similar to your favorite holiday beverage!

It’s not exactly “Christmas Specific” but we couldn’t help but throw in our favorite flavor at the Ganachery in the mix. Forget Peanut Butter and Jelly, we think Peanut Butter and Chocolate is a far superior combination!

Can you even really say it’s Christmas without Peppermint Bark? We aren’t sure, but we don’t think you can. No one does it better than the Ganachery!
