Late March and April events abound at the new Margaritaville Resort in Orlando. Happenings, openings, and events fill the calendar. Casey Jr. Splash N’ Soak Reopens At The Magic Kingdom

Casey Jr. Splash N’ Soak is back, chugging down the track! After a lengthy refurbishment, the splash and water play area reopened to guests this week at the Magic Kingdom.

The attraction needed a very through re-vamp, with the entire structure getting repainted and the water features getting some TLC as well. Casey and his circus animal cargo are back and ready to help you beat the heat as those spring temperatures start to climb.

Many young kids love playing in the open space, splashing and getting sprayed by the animals. If you plan to enjoy this area on your next trip, it’s best to plan ahead and bring a towel, ziplock bag and change of clothes! You will get wet – and if you linger too long, you’ll get very wet! Don’t worry, if you forget – Big Top Souvenirs is nearby, and well stocked with towels and clothes.

The refurbishment began back in February and was closed for well over a month. Reopening this weekend, we are ready to say “all aboard!” for a trip to Storybook Circus.

Casey’s reemergence is just in time for the debut of the new Dumbo movie this week! I can’t wait to see the live-action version of Casey Jr. bringing his circus animal friends to town with Dumbo and his traveling show.

Could An Obi-Wan Kenobi Series Be Coming To Disney+?

Could An Obi-Wan Kenobi Series Be Coming To Disney+? According to comicbook.com there is a high possibility!

Talks of an Obi-Wan centered film were circulating last year and the project seemed to be greenlit and ready to go. As quickly as the idea was put together, it seemed to fall apart after the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story. Or so we thought.

In 2018 it was announced that Disney would be creating their own streaming service, called Disney+, and soon after many of the “scraped” film projects seemed to be brought back to life with announcements that they would be made as exclusive content for Disney+. This included the announcement of “The Mandalorian” Series and several other subjects such as characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and Marvel Comics.

So what does this mean for Obi-Wan Kenobi? Well comicbook.com seems to believe that Lucasfilm and Disney will announce the creation of an Obi-Wan based series for Disney+ that will be announced at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration being hosted in Chicago, Illinois this April.

What about Ewan McGregor? The actor has been working close with Disney in the last few years, primarily in the roles of Lumiere in the live action Beauty and the Beast and as a grown up Christopher Robin in Christopher Robin, with what appears to be a great working relationship between the two it would simply be natural for him to reprise his role. Ewan has expressed interest in the past and can even be quoted to have said that he thinks he is the right age to play Obi-Wan in a series that would take place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

No official announcement as been made at this time, but more than likely we can expect some big announcements coming from the entertainment conglomerates at the Star Wars Celebration. Would you like to see a series revolving around the adventures of one of the last of the Jedi Knights? We sure would! Only time will tell, but the force seems strong with this one.

Disneyland Resort Celebrates Spring with Eggstravaganza 2019!

Spring is in the air! For those of us buried in snow Spring can’t come soon enough and what better way to celebrate than with Eggstravaganza 2019! The popular Disneyland egg-themed scavenger hunt will take place April 5-21, 2019.

Guests participating can purchase the map and corresponding stickers for $6.99 (plus tax) at select merchandise locations. Once your map is purchased let the hunt begin across Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure park and the Downtown Disney District.

Once you find one of the special hidden “eggs” themed to Disney and Pixar characters you then record your discovery on your map with the corresponding sticker. Once you find all of the Eggstravaganza 2019 eggs, return your map to a redemption location for a surprise! Not sure what the redemption locations are? Walt Disney World Ticket Price Increase Now In Effect For Vacation Packages

Walt Disney world ticket price increase for packages

While modifying a Fall trip for a client this afternoon, I noticed that the default package pricing kept increasing significantly. I called into the always helpful Disney Reservation Center to see what was happening and a friendly Cast Member was able to confirm my suspicion- the ticket price increase from a few weeks ago has now been put in place for packages as of yesterday.

As we reported a few weeks ago, stand-alone ticket prices increased for Walt Disney World Resort. Stand-alone tickets are tickets that are purchased separately from a resort package. These tickets include date based theme park tickets, multi-day theme park tickets, and water park annual passes at Walt Disney World. Base tickets and Park Hopper tickets were both affected.

It is not hard to connect the ticket price increases to the announcement for the opening date of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort on August 29, 2019. Room rates this Fall have also seen price increases. While I am not sure if this is the only price increase we will see, what I do know is that if you plan on visiting Walt Disney World resort this Fall, I would not delay in booking your vacation package to guarantee the best pricing.

The best places to cool down when things get hot at Walt Disney World Resort are the Disney Water Parks. There’s no better way to enjoy the Florida sunshine than relaxing in an inner tube, floating down a lazy river, or splashing around with your family. Let’s check out some of the new offerings that you can spot next time you’re at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach.

New menu items available at Blizzard Beach include the Blizzard Burger. Topped with cheddar cheese, sweet and smoky “ham-jam” and served on a pretzel bun, this burger is sure to quench your hunger. There are also a few new healthy choices like the plant-based rice bowls, available with a variety of options. For dessert, try the chocolate-dipped key lime pie or a milkshake – choose from salted caramel, peppermint, chocolate or vanilla!

Typhoon Lagoon also has some new offerings, like the “guacamole flight” that comes in vegetable, pineapple bacon, and shrimp varieties. I’m excited to try the jerk chicken rice bowl. There’s also a plant-based bratwurst sandwich on the menu. Wash it all down with a Blue Typhoon Colada or a “Tropical Storm”.

As we reported earlier, guests visiting this spring will be able to purchase the “Splash Pack” at both parks. The Splash Pack Bundle will include an entree, beverage with a collectible refillable mug, dessert, and a souvenir towel (choose from Lilo & Stitch, Toy Story, Finding Nemo, or Mickey Mouse). The price of the Slash Pack Bundle is currently $44 per person and are available a Singapore Sal’s at Typhoon Lagoon or the Beach Haus at Blizzard Beach from now until May 4th.

DVC Members Enjoy “Galactic Gathering” At Epcot

World ShowPlace pavilion at Epcot will be converted into an exclusive Star Wars experience for Disney Vacation Club members for one night only! DVC members can experience the Star Wars: Galactic Gathering on April 10th from 6pm – 8:30 pm.

This exclusive event will feature Star Wars-themed food and beverage offerings for DVC members and special guests. Characters will be on hand to pose for photos along with set pieces and props from the films.

Bring your appetite, because the culinary team has worked up an intergalactic feast. The event will include hors d’oeuvres, specialty beverages and an all-you-care-to-enjoy stationed buffet. A salad cone station (try the Endor Cous Cous), small-bites station (including a Tatooine Cheeseburger Spring Roll), bowl action station (with Alderaan Bean Wat with Basamati Rice), and a carving station. For dessert try the Blue Milk Panna Cotta or the BB-8 mousse domes!

When you’re not chowing down, or meeting your Star Wars favorites, there’s also a DJ who will be spinning tunes near the dancefloor.

Ticket prices are $225 for adults, and $210 for children (includes tax and gratuity), and separate Epcot park admission is required. The Spectral Camera is Disappearing!
