Watch out, Central Florida: there’s a new vacation destination in town, and it’s going to blow your mind. Margaritaville Resort Orlando, which opened its hotel portion–just one of many offerings to come throughout this spring–on January 23rd, is a Caribbean paradise like no other, featuring every amenity possible to ensure beach resort-style luxury. From its immaculately decorated rooms and multiple relaxation pools to its fantastic restaurants and practically unlimited opportunities to grab a drink, this resort is one you won’t want to miss.
Upon first stepping into the lobby, guests are met with beach-style furnishings, an eye-catching chandelier composed of over 300 margarita glasses, and countless photo-ops in the form of curated seating alcoves and the infamous thirteen-foot flip-flop (yes, with a pop top).
Even the digital display behind the check-in desk is designed to instantly transport you to the Caribbean, showcasing ever-changing views of stunning white sand beaches.
The island paradise theming carries on into the guest rooms, of which there are several different options depending on your group size and needs. Single-bedroom suites containing a full living room, dining room, and bathroom (that feels more like a walk-in closet than anything else) start at a promotional rate of just($209).
Standard studio-style rooms (which sleep four) start at a promotion rate of $159. All rooms are outfitted with an iPad containing all necessary hotel information, from scheduling to menus, and room service and housekeeping are both available with the push of a button.
But I haven’t even gotten to the best offering yet–for those wanting to get in a truly island state of mind, the Margaritaville Cottages are a must. You can buy your very own Caribbean-style beach house to live in year-round or rent out at your whim for prices starting, unbelievably, at just $340,000. These vacation villas have the option to come fully furnished and decorated, and homes used for rent are cleaned upon check-out, with all guest stays managed through the hotel–no airBNB style upkeep here!
Finding a good restaurant is obviously a crucial part of any vacation, and the Margaritaville Hotel has plenty to offer. Euphoria is an upscale dining location, but some of our adult fans might be excited to hear that its bar opens at 11 am, meaning you don’t need to take more than a few steps into the hotel to have a margarita in hand.
Provisions provides a marketplace-style grab-and-go shop for vacationers rushing to the parks…
…while On Vacation Cafe rounds out the fare options as the resident casual dining offering.
Just a few steps away from the hotel, Sunset Walk will boast 35 dining, shopping, and entertainment offerings, including Rock & Brews, BurgerFi, and Coldstone Creamery. Finally, the Salty Rim poolside bar and grill is available for those who can’t bring themselves to budge from their lounge chairs.
Speaking of the pool, Margaritaville Hotel actually has two–one of which is planned to be adult-exclusive–both outfitted with cabanas, lounge chairs with built-in shade visors, and white sand for that final beachy touch.
Looking for even more fun? Several brand new offerings are slated to open in late February. First up, the St. Somewhere spa will feature themed amenities such as margarita face masks and a nail bar, while the Fins Up Fitness Center will be available for those who like to get a little exercise in with their relaxation. Parakeets Kids Club is perfect for any parent hoping to get a little alone time–a premium children’s care service featuring trained counselors and children’s activities divided by age group, Parakeets runs at just $12 an hour. Finally, a hotly anticipated on-property water park, Island H20 Live!, will be opening in late spring. This revolutionary park will incorporate RFID technology that allows guests to customize their own ride experience through personalized music and lighting, among other interactive elements.
The Margaritaville Resort is proud of its image as a “land cruise”–complete with every amenity and atmospheric quality of a Caribbean cruise ship (without the rocking!). It doesn’t feel like Florida, and it certainly doesn’t feel like your average hotel off the side of US-192–it feels, at the first step through the doors, as though you have been transported into a Caribbean paradise, with all of the sights, sounds, and smells to match. We happened to visit on a day that was rather cold and drizzly, but nothing could dull the bright colors and inviting ambience of this resort. Whether you’re looking to spend a weekend on a relaxing beach getaway, lounging poolside with a drink in hand, or seek a family vacation to the Disney parks (just ten minutes away!) with unique theming and more affordable rates, Margaritaville Resort Orlando has something for everyone.
