DVC Details Revealed for Disney’s Riviera Resort

Disney Vacation Club points, pricing, and other details have been published for Disney’s Riviera Resort. Sales are expected to launch later this week.

The Riviera Resort is the 15th DVC resort on Disney property. During the cheapest period of the year (Adventure Season), rates start at 11 points for the 2-person Tower Studio, 15 points for the Standard Deluxe Studio, 31-38 for a One Bedroom Villa, 40-49 for a Two Bedroom Villa, and 104 points per night for the Three Bedroom Villa.

The point values for 2019 have yet to be published because the resort opening is still projected for Fall 2019. If villas are available before 2020, the prices are expected to stay the same.

The original pricing for the Riviera Resort starts at the $188 per point base like Copper Creek Villas & Cabins and Aulani, DVC Villas. There are also a few incentives for current owners to add-on. Existing members can earn anywhere from $500 – $30,500 depending on how many points they purchase.

The newest DVC resort is expected to feature two swimming pools and five dining options.

Marvel just dropped a huge bomb this afternoon!

They just released on their Facebook page a bunch of both living and dead character posters which tells us that maybe some of our favorite characters that disappeared aren’t really gone after all!

When Is Disney Releasing The Dates For The 2019 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival

The EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is an annual event that has many fans. In the past, the yearly festival has included fine dining events, appearances by favorite Disney culinarians and top celebrity chefs, and an amazing concert series from favorite bands of the last few decades. It truly is a remarkable experience!

Now that I have your attention, just when will the dates for the 2019 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival be released? That is a great question that will hopefully be answered very soon! The 2018 dates were announced on March 12, 2018, and the 2017 dates were announced in November 2016. Based on the historical data, Disney should be announcing the dates any day now!

The 2018 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival lasted 75 days, from August 30 to November 12, 2018. It is speculated that the 24^th annual EPCOT Food & Wine Festival start on either August 22 or 29 and will run through November 11, 2019. Of course, this is all speculation until the official dates are announced by Disney!

Will Disney be enforcing stroller size limits?

According to Len Testa it sounds like Disney is going to be starting to enforce stroller size limits at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

He posted this on Twitter yesterday:

Am told WDW and DLR will start enforcing stroller size limits May 1: 31" by 52", including a "no wagons" policy. Seems to be addressing strollers like the Keenz 7s? pic.twitter.com/n5PkBNhA47

Disneyland and Walt Disney World list stroller sizes larger than 36″x52″ (92cm x 132cm) as prohibited items, including a no wagon policy.

These rules have not been enforced as I know personally I have seen many wagons at the theme parks.

No official word has been released by Disney if these rules will start to be enforced starting on May 1st. I however always tell people to go by the rules when asked.

The New Lollipop Minnie Mouse Ears Are A Stylishly Sweet Treat

Just in time for Spring, the tasty new Lollipop Minnie Mouse Ears have arrived. These deliciously adorable Minnie ears are the third pair of Disney Parks ears inspired by the delicious treats of Disney! The ears may look tasty enough to take a bite out of, but I don’t think they will taste good, haha.

I’ve personally been super excited for these ever since the Disney Springs Preview in January. A scrumptious swirl of vivid colors combine to create an adorable lollipop design for each ear. The ears are made from a sturdy plastic, which helps lend to the candy coated aesthetic. They are also hollow, so we don’t have to worry about them being as heavy as REAL giant lollipops. I love how even the bow is themed as a piece of wrapped hard candy! The candy bow is wrapped up with ultra sparkly pink fabric that adds the perfect touch of whimsy.

Tonight’s livestream of “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” at Epcot has been rescheduled to Tuesday, April 9, at 8:55 p.m. EDT.

Later this year Illuminations: Reflections of Earth will have its last show on the World Showcase lagoon. The show that debuted in 1999 as part of the Millennium Celebration has lasted 19 years into the new millennium. This fall, it will be making way for a new spectacular and an interim show in the meantime. This Thursday, March 28 is your chance to see the show from the comfort of your own home. Disney Parks Blog will live stream Illuminations: Reflections of Earth beginning at 8:55 pm E.T. Not only will viewers have the opportunity to see the beloved nighttime Epcot show, afterward, the Disney Parks Blog has a special treat in store. Immediately following, we will enjoy a “look ahead” at what is coming in 2019.

Nightly, Illuminations dazzles audiences with a billowing fire barge, a globe featuring life on earth, breathtaking fireworks and the perfect soundtrack to accompany it all. While it is going to be hard for many fans to say goodbye to this old friend the show taking its place in 2020 is sure to be even more spectacular.

Walt Disney World resort guests have so much to look forward to this year. With new attractions including Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on August 29th, the new limited time experience, “Epcot Forever” stepping in this fall when Illuminations ends, and even a new transportation option with the Skyliner we can’t begin to imagine what the Disney Parks Blog has to show us.

Is a Beauty and the Beast Themed Bar Headed to Disney’s Grand Floridian?

A breaking news rumor has erupted and some guests will not be happy about this one. There is a rumor that Mizner’s Lounge, at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, will be completely transformed into a newly themed bar. Mizner’s Lounge is set to close in April for refurbishments, already, but according to some handy online sources, a Beauty and the Beast-themed bar might be taking it’s place.

Check out what @SchuckJH said on twitter about the re-imagined bar transforming into the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast live-action film. This could simply be an overlay or it could be a complete refurbishment similar to the new Snow White Storybook Dining at Artist Point, at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

Mizner’s Lounge will change to offer many settings from Beast’s Castle, if the rumor is true. Word is the themed rooms will include the library, ballroom, and the outside patio will mimic the woods from outside the Beast’s castle.

“The Library” will have plus couches and a cozy fireplace where the bar sits. “The Ballroom” will host the beautiful chandelier, and “The Woods” will offer indoor and outdoor seating, totaling around 140 seats.

As with all rumors that pop up, don’t take this to be true until Disney officially makes an announcement about Mizner’s Lounge being transformed into a newly themed Beauty and the Beast bar area. What are your thoughts about if this rumor turns out to be fact?

NBA Experience is opening August 12th, 2019 in Disney Springs

Announced tonight during halftime at an Orlando Magic game, the NBA Experience in Disney Springs will be opening on August 12th, 2019.

The NBA Experience is located in Disney Springs West Side district where Disney Quest used to be.

Inspired by the modern architecture of new NBA arenas around the country, The NBA Experience building design exudes the same spirit and energizing impact, while creating an unmistakable and entertaining connection to the NBA in a way that only Disney can.

The NBA Experience at Disney Springs will be a one-of-a-kind basketball-themed experience featuring hands-on activities that put guests of all ages right in the middle of NBA game action.

There will be immersive NBA video productions and numerous interactive experiences, as well as a restaurant and a retail store.

And here are some new details about NBA Experience we’re sharing for the first time:

When you enter NBA Experience, you’ll feel like you’re walking through the players’ tunnel out onto the court at an NBA or WNBA arena.
A ticket to NBA Experience grants you access to every activity in any order you choose, and you can return to stations multiple times to try and improve your performance or learn more about the game, the players and the teams you love.
In an activity that tests shooting skills, spots will light up on the court as you move from one location to another attempting to sink as many shots as possible in 15 seconds.

Changes in Operating Hours at Trader Sam’s & Tiki Terrace

If you’ve ever been to Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, you know it’s a great spot to grab a fun refreshing drink. Pay attention if you have a trip coming up soon. There are changes in operating hours at Trader Sam’s & Tiki Terrace.

Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto and the outdoor Tiki Terrace are now scheduled to open at 3:00 p.m. Closing times will now be moved to 12:00 midnight for the Grog Grotto and 11:00 p.m. for the Tiki Terrace. Both the Grog Grotto and Tiki Terrace opened at 4:00 p.m. prior to the schedule change.

For guests who have never visited Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, you can find it over at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Pay attention next time you’re riding Jungle Cruise for Trader Sam. He’s the Head Salesman of Jungle Cruise and has collected artifacts from all over and brought them to his “happy hideaway” at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Don’t miss the fun interactive elements and the crazy bartenders when you order certain drinks. Grab a bite to eat too while enjoying your time at Walt Disney World.

Arrive early before heading to the Spirit of Aloha Luau and enjoy a tasty beverage.
