Specialty Holiday Disney Pins

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, especially at Walt Disney World. The new Specialty Holiday Disney Pins For Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party made their debut tonight with the first party of the season. There are a few individual pins, as well as three collectors sets available!

We checked out the artwork for these last week, but it’s wonderful to see them in person.

There is a framed, and box set available for the Christmas Wreath pins. The frame set has an edition size of 500, and the box set has an edition size of 1,000. Four of these pins are available individually, but the boxed set has one extra, and the framed set has two extra that are only available in the sets. Available for purchase separately are the Mickey Snowman, Alice in Wonderland, Wreck it Ralph, and Peter pan Pins, each has a limited edition run of 5,500. The Toy Story pin is available in both the boxed and framed set, but the Snow White pin is only available in the framed set.

The third set is a collection of puffy Snowman Disney Characters! The cheerful likenesses of Jiminy Cricket, Cheshire Cat, Jack Skellington and Stitch are captures as lovable snowmen! This set has an edition size of just 300.

There is also a Christmas Party Logo Pin, and an Annual Passholder Christmas Party Pin available. The logo pin showcases Mickey and Minnie in their Holiday finest with Cinderella Castle decked out in holiday decorations, and is a limited release with no edition run. The AP pin features a very grumpy Donald surrounded by the iconic Toy Soldiers, this one is also a limited release without a set edition run.

One of my favorite quotes of all time is from Belle’s Reprise when she sings “I want adventure in the great wide somewhere”. From the first moment I heard it as a little girl in a movie theater, I knew they were words that spoke to me. New Entrance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Now Open

If you plan on driving to Disney’s Hollywood Studios soon, you’ll likely discover things are a bit different, and by a bit different we mean totally different. As of today, guests arriving by personal vehicle will enter the park through a brand new entrance.

As of today, the old Beuna Vista Blvd. entrance is only accessible to busses. Cars will enter from an entirely new direction off of Osceola Pkwy, near Victory Way.

The new entrance is larger and can accommodate many more vehicles entering the park than the old entrance. Given the massive volumes expected next year for the opening Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, we are willing to bet this will be well worth the temporary confusion.

Construction at the entrance of Hollywood Studios is still ongoing, however, as the Skyliner Gondola system and a new bus terminal are being constructed. The bad news is that means a long walk and a bit of a headache in the meantime. The good news is that once everything is completed, getting to Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be easier than ever! We can’t wait to see how great it is going to be when it’s all done!

It seems at every corner of Disney there is something new to be found and a new treat to try. We are always on the hunt for special offerings and delicious snacks to find at different Disney Parks and Resorts. This is one that tastes as scrumptious as it looks.

The Boardwalk Bakery has added a festively decorated cupcake adorned by fall leaves and multicolored sprinkles. The base is a decadent yellow cupcake that is secretly filled with a pumpkin mousse and salted caramel filling. On top of the cake is cinnamon whip frosting swirled to perfection and garnished with white chocolate leaves of all shapes and sizes. Can you say Y-U-M? Take a closer look.

During the holiday season Disney pulls out all the stops to bring exciting events and opportunities for guests to celebrate the holidays together in the Disney Parks and at Disney Resorts all around the world. One of the most anticipated events of the season is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, also referred to as MVMCP.

Today we are reporting that the very first 2018 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has sold out of tickets for the first night of festivities at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a holiday spectacular where guests can meet and greet with special characters, dine on holiday themed treats and beverages, watch a fantastic character filled parade, and see the Magic Kingdom transform into a Winter Wonderland.

If you didn’t get a ticket for opening night, don’t worry. We recently found this beautiful Cheshire Cat cupcake during our ongoing resort snack hunt. This was located in the food court of the All Stars Music resort at Walt Disney World. How can you resist that smile?

This masterpiece consists of a vanilla cupcake topped with lots of strawberry buttercream and candy pearls. And don’t forget those pink sprinkles (I think sprinkles make everything more magical, don’t you). It has strawberry buttercream filling and is topped with chocolate ears and that famous Cheshire Cat smile.

20th Anniversary Gingerbread House at Grand Floridian

Celebrating it’s 20th anniversary this year is the Grand Floridian Resort’s Gingerbread House at Walt Disney World. Now in its final stages of last minutes touches, the life-size gingerbread house has been a staple at the Grand Floridian Resort’s lobby during the holidays.

Construction of this magnificent gingerbread house began on Nov 7th and they hope to be all finished by Nov 11th. Guests are able to stroll by the house as the team of chefs at the Grand Floridian diligently and painstakingly create this amazing culinary masterpiece. You might even get to say hello to one of the chefs and grab a gingerbread sample.

For those who can’t visit the gingerbread house I’m here to give you an up close and personal virtual “taste” of what it looks like. Can’t you just smell the gingerbread?

To create this house it takes an estimated over 400 hours of baking the gingerbread and approximately 160 hours of construction. Can you believe that preparations actually began during the summer?

A chocolate plaque hangs proudly in honor of Chef Erich Herbitscheck, who recently retired from the Grand Floridian. Chef Herbitscheck has been the mastermind of this magical culinary creation since it first appeared 20 years ago.

Also available will be 20th-anniversary gingerbread houses guests are able to purchase as well as other delightful gingerbread treats.

Chip with Chip and Company was just at the Grand Floridian Resort a few minutes ago and shared a live video of the gingerbread house construction.

If you are heading to the Magic Kingdom Park for the holidays make sure to take a short detour, hop on the monorail, and visit the Grand Floridian Resort’s Holiday Gingerbread House before January 2nd.
