Guy Proposes to His Girlfriend By Changing the End of ‘Sleeping Beauty’

sleeping beauty proposal

Lee Loechler, filmmaker and clear professional at everything romantic, decided to really use his skills when popping the big question to his high school sweetheart. And Sthuthi David had no idea what she was going into when she was taken to a full theater to see Sleeping Beauty, her favorite movie.

Guy Proposes to His Girlfriend By Changing the End of 'Sleeping Beauty'

To begin the proposal, Lee successfully changed the iconic ending of Sleeping Beauty to put himself as Prince Charming and his girlfriend as Aurora. Sthuthi was clearly confused but continued to watch, Lee watching her facial expressions the whole way through. The scene played out, Sthuthi slowly catching onto what was happening. To pop the question, Prince Charming “tossed” the ring to Lee and the rest was history!

The project was six months in the making and clearly worth it with her answer! How could anyone say no to a gesture like that? To watch the full proposal, click the link above!

Warwick Davis Shared Scene With His Son in ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’

Warwick Davis Shared Scene With His Son in 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker'

Warwick Davis Shared Scene With His Son in ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker‘. The famed actor has taken on many iconic roles in franchises such as Harry Potter and Star Wars and when called to return to Star Wars as the iconic Wicket the Ewok, decided to make it a family affair by bringing his son, Harrison, into the fold.

“[Wicket’s] got older like I have, and he’s had a child,” Davis said. “The Ewok you see next to him is [Wicket’s] son — and my son Harrison, in reality as well, which was a really lovely touch. J.J. was really keen for us to play the characters together, which was lovely.”

“When I got the call about that I almost was like, are you serious?” Davis remembered in a recent conversation with SYFY WIRE’s Fandom Files podcast. “And they said [director] J.J. [Abrams] really wants to do this but we’ve got to work with you to actually make it happen.”

One of the biggest challenges in production was the long lost costume for Wicket from Return of the Jedi. Unfortunately, there was not a drawn out plan for the suit and how they gave the character it’s detailed shape, but luckily, Warwick’s parents took plenty of pictures on set, including shots that showed the top portion of the suit from the interior. With some minor modification, a new suit was constructed, allowing for Davis to once again portray the lovable Ewok.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Launches Jan. 17 at Disneyland

One week from today Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opens at Disneyland park! This ride is one of the most ambitious, advanced and immersive experiences ever undertaken by Walt Disney Imagineering. Here are some ways to get ready for and make the most of this epic attraction:

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Launches Jan. 17 at Disneyland

Download the official Disneyland mobile app
First things first. The Disneyland app allows guests to navigate Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and even utilize the mobile ordering feature at select dining locations when they are in the land. Download it before visiting the park!

Plan for the attraction experience
Starting Jan. 17 as needed, a virtual queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance may be implemented to help deliver the best possible guest experience, allowing guests to explore other areas of the park while waiting for their turn to ride. The Disneyland app will have a dedicated module, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – Access by Boarding Group, available from the main page. Here’s how it will work:

  • Request to join a boarding group to ride the attraction, once you have entered Disneyland park. The virtual queue will not be available until published park opening hours.
  • Boarding groups will be sent a push notification when it is their turn to enter the attraction queue and you can monitor the status of boarding groups from the app.
  • There also will be the ability to join a boarding group from select locations inside Disneyland park, if you are not using the app. The boarding group is tied to admission that will be scanned upon entry of the attraction.
  • Signage throughout the park will also display boarding group status.
  • Admission into Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will be subject to capacity, and having an assigned boarding group will not guarantee entrance to the attraction

Make a reservation for select experiences

Savi’s Workshop, Droid Depot, and Oga’s Cantina offer advance reservations up to 60 days in advance. These popular experiences book up quickly, so be sure to check out the Disneyland Resort website or the Disneyland app to make reservations today!

Display an affiliation with the rebellious Resistance or the intimidating First Order
Guests are encouraged to live out their Star Wars story and dress the part while visiting Batuu, however, keep in mind the Disneyland Resort costume policy is in effect. While costumes may not be worn by guests 14 years of age or older, appropriate bounding—dressing in outfits inspired by Star Wars—is permitted.

Find a ride buddy
Head to Batuu’s marketplace to check out the Creature Stall. Guests may find an exotic creature or critter from around the galaxy to accompany them aboard Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, including a sassy Kowakian monkey-lizard or an adorable porg!

Explore Black Spire Outpost with your Star Wars: Datapad through the Play Disney Parks App
Star Wars: Datapad is a land-wide interactive experience available through the Play Disney Parks mobile app. There are so many ways to explore with Datapad, including choosing to support the Resistance or First Order by selecting new jobs within the app.

Follow the experience with a refreshing treat
After escaping the clutches of the dark side, guests can treat themselves to a local delicacy in Batuu – Blue Milk and Green Milk! Available at the Milk Stand, these frosty confections are an invigorating, refreshing drink. Pair this milk with a sweet, savory snack made with popcorn from Kat Saka’s Kettle. Try the new chocolate popcorn with Crait Red Salt – yum!

Will you be joining the resistance next week when Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opens?

Disney World Cast Member Auntie Kau’i has passed away

Disney World Cast Member Auntie Kau’i has passed away

We have just learned that Disney World Cast Member Auntie Kau’i has just passed away yesterday.

“It is with deep sorrow that we inform you of the passing of our family matriarch, Kau’ihealani Mahikoa Brandt,” Brandt’s family posted on Facebook.

Kau’i Brandt started her career in Disneyland performing the hula at Tahitian Terrace in Adventureland back in the ’60s.

She moved to Florida when the Polynesian opened at Walt Disney World in 1971 and became the official cultural representative of the resort. She could be found making leis or giving hula lessons.

“Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we are eternally grateful to God for blessing us with her amazing life and countless deposits of love, concern, and care for all whom she encountered,” the Facebook post reads.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

Scott Derrickson Steps Away as Director of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’

Scott Derrickson Steps Away as Director of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’. Not sure if Doctor Strange saw this outcome in Avengers: Endgame but it appears Marvel Studios and Scott Derrickson have creative differences over the Doctor Strange sequel.

The news was shared by both Marvel Studios and Scott Derrickson in a statement by Marvel and a tweet by Derrickson.

https://twitter.com/scottderrickson/status/1215428331450953728

“Marvel Studios and Scott Derrickson have amicably parted ways on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness due to creative differences,” Marvel said in a statement to Variety, adding, “We remain grateful to Scott for his contributions to the MCU.”

According to Derrickson, he will remain as an executive producer, but will be leaving the film as the director. Scott Derrickson was the director of the first Doctor Strange  film, and will likely remain as the EP to help with continuity, but will not play a major part in the sequel’s day to day production.

The plot of the film is currently unknown, but we do know the film will star Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Stephen Strange), Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch), and Benedict Wong (Wong). It has also been stated Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be the first “scary” MCU film, but with that menacing title, it didn’t really shock fans that the film would take on a more sinister story.

Multiverse of Madness is the greatest title we’ve ever come up with, by the way, which is one thing that’s exciting about it,” Feige said last month. “I wouldn’t necessarily say that’s a horror film, but … it’ll be a big MCU film with scary sequences in it.”

‘Lizzie McGuire’ Reboot Put On Hold After Showrunner Leaves Production

'Lizzie McGuire' Reboot Put On Hold After Showrunner Leaves Production

Lizzie McGuire‘ Reboot Put On Hold After Showrunner Leaves Production. Original creator of the series, Terri Minsky, initially was signed on to create a reboot of the popular Disney Channel Series for Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+. It appears after filming only two episodes of the reboot, Minsky has stepped away from the project after creative differences with the studio.

“Fans have a sentimental attachment to Lizzie McGuire and high expectations for a new series,” a Disney spokesperson told TVLine. “After filming two episodes, we concluded that we need to move in a different creative direction and are putting a new lens on the series.”

Production is currently at a standstill while Disney finds a new direction for the series, and it is very possible reshoots will be ordered. It is unknown when production will return and if any of the previously shot footage will be used in the series.

The new Lizzie McGuire series follows our favorite angsty teenager, now millennial adult, as she is about to turn 30 and navigating the complications of adulthood.

“Lizzie is turning 30, and for me, you know she was everybody’s best friend, and she was there for such pivotal moments in their pre-teen life, and entering your 30s is an extremely big deal and I think it’s just the right time for her to step back in and to have her go along with you in your 30s,” Duff said in a recent interview. “All of the fun times and all of the big monumental moments and all of the challenges you are faced with. I just thought that there was such opportunity there for her to be grown up and for her to be there for women again.”

Hilary Duff (Lizzie), Hallie Todd (Jo, Lizzie’s Mom), Robert Carradine (Sam, Lizzie’s Dad), Jake Thomas (Matt), and Adam Lamberg (Gordo) all returned to reprise their roles from the series, giving fans hope that Disney plans to do the series justice for the long supportive fans of the original series.
