Disneyland Legacy Passholders are receiving an email letting them know how to receive and use their discounts. Beginning today, passholders must show a new digital discount ticket as well as their Annual Passport and valid photo identification in order to receive applicable discounts.
Disneyland Legacy Passholders can get discounts on select merchandise and food/beverage at the Disneyland Resort. In order to take advantage of these discounts, passholders will need to show a new digital discount ticket. Here’s how that works:
“If you have previously linked your Passport to your Disney account through the Disneyland app, a new digital discount ticket will automatically be updated to your account via the app—it may take up to three days from the date of this email to show. To view your discount ticket, simply open the Disneyland app, tap “Tickets and Passes,” and your digital discount ticket will be available to view. You will then be able to use your new digital ticket barcode to validate your discount—in addition to showing your Annual Passport and valid photo identification—when making select merchandise or food and beverage purchases.”
If you have not previously linked your Passport to your Disney account, Disney will send an email in the coming weeks with easy instructions on how to obtain and link your new digital discount ticket to your Disney account. Or you may contact Passholder Member Services at (714) 781-4567 or use the chat feature via the Disneyland app to help you link your discount ticket to your Disney account.
Legacy Passholder discount tickets will show an expiration date of April 30, 2021. That expiration date will be automatically extended until new Disneyland membership offerings are announced.
Are you a Disneyland Legacy Annual Passholder? What do you think of this new way to get your discounts?
The CDC is reviewing a study out of Massachusetts that concludes there is “no significant difference” in physical distancing by three feet versus six feet. Almost all of the study’s participants wore masks. Dr. Anthony Fauci said the data suggests that 3 feet is a safe distance. He also shared that the CDC is conducting its own studies on physical distancing.
“What the CDC wants to do is accumulate data, and when data shows ability to be 3 feet, they will act accordingly,” Fauci said.
Currently, the CDC recommends at least 6 feet for physical distancing, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends at least 1 meter (roughly 3 feet), and the UK recommends 2 meters.
At Walt Disney World and other Disney theme parks around the world, physical distancing of 6 feet is currently required. Markers are placed on the ground as well as signs posted throughout the parks to help guests remember to stay 6 feet from other parties. This does cause some congestion issues at times when lines get long at the parks. Reducing the physical distancing requirement to 3 feet could help with those issues and could even allow parks to increase capacity limits.

Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley shared some new Mary Blair-inspired concept art of Cinderella Castle all decked out for the 50th anniversary celebration.
Riddley shared on Instagram today that the Imagineering team drew inspiration from Disney Legend Mary Blair for the 50th anniversary celebration transformation of Cinderella Castle. The Walt Disney World 50th anniversary celebration begins October 1, 2021, and you can already see decor being added to the castle!
Riddley shared more about the inspiration behind the 50th anniversary decorations saying, “We wanted to go back to the original story of this beautiful structure to create something entirely original for this grand celebration. Fanciful ribbons wrap in air around the castle turrets – inspired by the scene in the film where Cinderella is transformed in her stunning gown. And Mary’s designs provided us a beautiful palette of rich hues to choose from – deep blues, purples and shimmering golds mesh with a touch of EARidescence that will catch light and evolve through the day and into each evening.”
Last month we reported the news that a Disney Security Cast Member was spat on by a guest at Disney’s Contemporary Resort for failing to wear a facemask.
At the time the identity of the man was unknown, however today the Orlando Sentinel has reported that a 51-year-old Palm Beach man has been found and charged with trespassing and battery for spitting on the Cast Member.
According to the initinal report Kelly McKin was attempting to walk into the Convention Center at the Contemporary when the Cast Member told him it was closed.
She asked him to put on his mask. He promised he would do so once he went inside the building.
The security guard reminded him masks were required at all times on Disney property.
“The man told her to leave him alone, and took a step towards her and spit on her,” the arrest report said. “The spit did not make direct contact but some saliva did hit her on her left forehead.”
The guard, who did not have a radio on her at the time, went to get backup while the man disappeared inside the resort.
“That was the last he was seen,” the arrest report said.
The Cast Member was worried she might have been exposed to COVID-19 and notified management.
The next day on Feb. 6th, Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from Disney after the man had been spotted on surveillance footage.
McKin was arrested and charged with trespassing and battery against the Cast Member.
Kelly McKin adamantly denied spitting on the Security Cast Member last month at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, according to the arrest report.
Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival is hands down one of the most popular events at Walt Disney World. Springtime in Florida is fresh and exciting, and nobody brings in the season like Disney. For those who are traveling in for spring break, or maybe doing a staycation in Orlando this year, Epcot has some adorable souvenirs you won’t want to pass up. After all, flowers go with everything!
There are three main collections you’ll find at the Flower and Garden merchandise locations: Orange Bird, Minnie Mouse, and Spike the Bee. Depending on your tastes, you may want to get something from each collection or just buy as much of one as you can. There are some delightful pieces no matter what you love.
The ever-popular, ever-adorable Orange Bird is not only a Walt Disney World icon, but he’s come to be a staple at every Flower and Garden Festival. His big orange head has inspired a new Minnie Mouse headband made of orange flowers and featuring Orange Bird on the green sequined bow. Grab the matching spirit jersey for a complete ensemble, and make sure you don’t forget the tumbler so that even your drinks complement your outfit!
The Minnie Wildflowers Collection is all about floral patterns and bows. You can purchase a mug, vase, or watering can with a sweet modern Minnie and floral design. The pastel colors are perfect for your springtime decor!
If you love Minnie and flowers, the new Dooney & Bourke bags are not to be missed! Bright and floral, these bags feature a garden-ready Minnie. They are sure to look good with any spring dress!
Another icon of the Flower and Garden Festival has to be Spike The Bee. Not only is he the host of Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration, but Spike is also featured in this collection. Inspired by golden honeycombs, and boasting cute phrases like “Sweet as Honey, ” these garden essentials will be the centerpiece of your outdoor space. You can also purchase a baseball cap, tumbler by Corkcicle, and more featuring Spike.
Figment couldn’t be any cuter than he is on these new items! Don’t forget to grab either a planter inspired by Spaceship Earth or a journal for “cultivating your imagination.” They are bright green and springy fun for Figment fans!
In April, Stitch dives under the sea to crash The Little Mermaid! The soft toy will be available on April 18th. The pins for The Lion King and The Little Mermaid collections will follow at a later in the spring.
