Just in time for spring, a new set of ears is out at Walt Disney World! These are the Disney Pastel Balloon Ears. They look just like those balloons you buy in the park, except they are strategically placed on the headband to look like mouse ears!
We’ve seen a couple of variations with this balloon style in the last year. There was a snowflake pair at Christmas and a red pair before that. This is the first pair of balloon ears where the two balloons are different colors. The photos may not reflect just how light and pretty the colors are, but the pink and purple balloons look perfect for a sunny day at Disney Parks. Or at home, if that’s something you do! The headband is a light green velvet.
Looking to add a little magic to your Easter basket? We love these new Disney pastel balloon ears! ✨ ? ? Available at World of Disney while supplies last. #DisneySpringspic.twitter.com/GDhMJrHz6V
Like their predecessors, these balloon ears light up. That means they are even more impressive at night than they are during the day. Each balloon is not only a different color either. The pink balloon has the Walt Disney World logo and the purple balloon has the Disneyland logo. So they are appropriate for either Disney park you can visit stateside!
Currently, you can purchase these Disney Pastel Balloon Ears at World of Disney in Disney Springs for $32.86. For those not currently visiting Walt Disney World, try purchasing online. If you’re a big fan of Disney balloons, you’ll want to grab these while you can. They’re sure to last a lot longer than a regular balloon!
Permits filed recently by the Buena Vista Construction Co. and a google map search shows the address associated with Chef de France in France Pavilion. “Provide labor, material and/or electrical for construction” is the only listed work.
France Pavilion in World Showcase at Epcot has undergone major expansion as of late. With the addition of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Le Crêperie de Paris, and new restrooms. Now it seems like another section of France may be undergoing some form of construction.
Chef de France does not have any dates listed for closure and remains open. It opened in 1982 with the rest of Epcot by French gastronomic legend Paul Bocuse. Since 1996 Bocuse’s son Jérôme has run the restaurant. At one point in the late 2000s, an Audio-Animatronics Remy could be seen interacting with guests.
“Be transported to the heart of Paris at this charming café. With its high ceilings, intricate mosaic flooring, and expansive windows looking out onto the promenade, this bright and airy restaurant features innovative French cuisine. Celebrating fresh and simple ingredients, the menu changes seasonally but may include such delicacies as beef tenderloin, classic onion soup, and roasted duck with cherries.”
Buena Vista Construction Company is the main contractor for refurbishments and renovations at Walt Disney World. Last year they had to layoff 1225 non employee contractors. Work may be picking up again as they have started to hire back some of those previously laid off.
Oscar Martinez was a Cast Member at Disneyland for more than 60 years. Most of those years he was a chef at Carnation Cafe. He’s been retired for a few years now and guests have started a petition to get him a window on Main Street U.S.A.
Oscar began working at Disneyland in 1956 and retired in 2017. His warm personality and kindness has made him a favorite among guests. Oscar became an attraction himself for guests visiting the park. Now, those guests want him to have his own window on Main Street!
If you’ve ever looked up at the windows on Main Street U.S.A. you might’ve noticed the names on the windows. Those names belong to past Cast Members, Imagineers, or others who contributed to the park. There are three requirements to get your name on a window: 1) Be retired, 2) Reach the highest level of service/respect/achievement, and 3) Agreement between top individual park management and Walt Disney Imagineering, which creates the design and copy concepts.
“After over 60 years of service, Chef Oscar retired from the Disneyland Resort in 2017. If you’ve met him, you know that he is a prime example of a Disney Cast Member. With kindness and genuineness, he has made a big impact on Guests and Cast Members since he hired in on December 29, 1956, and is more than deserving of a Main Street window to show how much we appreciate him!
Have you ever looked up at the windows on Main Street? Or maybe you’ve seen them in Toontown? These business decals are awarded to individuals who have contributed in some way to the parks. To be deserving of a window, Marty Sklar has said, “”to add a name [on a window] today, there are three requirements: (1) Only on retirement. (2) Only the highest level of service/respect/achievement. (3) Agreement between top individual park management and Walt Disney Imagineering, which creates the design and copy concepts.”
The petition is hoping for 2,500 signatures and has reached 2,408 as of the publication of this article. If you’d like to sign, you can find the petition here.

Celebrity Guest Stars
The list of A-list talent joining us quite impressive! Actor Jon Hamm is voicing Tony Stark/Iron Man in the show. Meanwhile, Whoopi Goldberg is playing Poundcakes, a D-list hero that often appears alongside the Power Broker.
Nathan Fillion is voicing Wonder Man, which is a character he was going to play in live-action in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 movie. It’s ironic he gets a second chance at the character even though his scene got cut the first time. Bill Hader is voicing two separate characters in the series. He’s playing both Angar the Screamer and iconic Hulk villain The Leader.
For the bumble bee decoration, start by creating royal. Add powdered sugar, meringue powder, vanilla extract, and water into the bowl of a stand mixer with the whisk attachment. Start mixing on low until incorporated and then beat on medium high until stiff peaks form (around 5 minutes).
Divide the icing into separate bowls to mix the icing colors (yellow, black, and white). Then set up a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet. Using a piping bag with piping tip #1, pipe the shape of a bee in yellow on parchment paper. Pipe on it’s wings with white, and stripes, eyes and antennae with black icing. Set aside to dry (about 1 hour).
Create Pooh’s ears with melted yellow candy melts. Using toothpicks, draw small circles on parchment paper. Set aside to dry.
Next, prepare the crust. Preheat the oven to 350F. Cream the butter and sugar until it’s light and fluffy in the bowl of an electric mixer with a paddle attachment. Combine the flour and salt into the butter mixture until it’s just combined.
Place the dough onto a well floured board and gather into a ball. Flatten the dough with floured hands and press flat into a 9″ x 9″ baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake the crust for 15 to 20 minutes, until lightly browned. Let it cool on a wire rack.
For the filling, beat eggs together then set aside. Next beat the lemon zest, cornstarch, and lemon juice until combined. Sift in sugar and baking powder, then add it to the egg mixture. Finally, pour the whole mix over the cooled crust.
Bake for 20 minutes.
Let it cool, then cut into 9 equal squares. Draw on Pooh’s face with melted dark chocolate. Add the ears and the royal icing beed with a little melted chocoalte.

The Mighty Ducks are back for a new generation of hockey fans!
We knew some of the cast of the Mighty Ducks would return for a reunion episode of the Disney+ revival series. But one actor of the original series says he never got the invite. Shaun Weiss, who famously played Goldberg in the franchise was not given the opportunity to return. Sources close to the actor say that he was never reached out to by Disney or any of the team on the project.
In the 10-episode “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” season set in present day Minnesota, the Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team. After 12-year-old Evan Morrow (Brady Noon) is unceremoniously cut from the Ducks, he and his mom, Alex (Lauren Graham), set out to build their own team of misfits to challenge the cutthroat, win-at-all-costs culture of youth sports today. With the help of Gordon Bombay (Emilio Estevez), they rediscover the joys of playing just for love of the game.
New Mighty Ducks
The series features a talented new team of up-and-coming young actors. Such as Brady Noon, Maxwell Simkins, Swayam Bhatia, Luke Islam, Kiefer O’Reilly, Taegen Burns, Bella Higginbotham, and DJ Watts.
“The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” is produced by ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios. Steve Brill, the original creator, writer and executive producer of all three films, which spawned an NHL franchise, is back as co-creator and executive producer of the new series.
The premise is certainly interesting given how the Ducks are the bad guys. They were the heroes of their 90’s movies. But the theme works well in sending a message about sportsmanship and the lessons learned in youth leagues. Are any of our fans excited about the Mighty Ducks reboot? Tell us your favorite moments in the movie franchise!
