New Aerial Photos Reveal Progress on Epic Universe Events Center and Future Expansion Site

Fresh aerial images from bioreconstruct offer a new look at construction taking place both inside and just outside Universal Epic Universe, highlighting steady progress on the park’s future events center as well as work on a nearby expansion property.

The most noticeable activity is taking place inside Epic Universe, where crews continue assembling the steel framework for a large multipurpose building located in Celestial Park. Since last week’s aerial update, additional vertical and horizontal steel beams have been installed, giving the structure an even more recognizable shape. Construction materials remain staged throughout the site as crews continue building upward.

The building sits between Other Worlds Mercantile and Super Nintendo World, near a backstage bus loop and across from Moonship Chocolates & Celestial Sweets. While Universal has yet to officially announce its purpose, permits indicate the project is a two-story, 53,886-square-foot venue with nearly 30,000 square feet of enclosed space and a construction value exceeding $20 million.

Based on those permit details, the venue is expected to accommodate approximately 1,200 to 1,400 guests and could host everything from corporate meetings and private receptions to media events and convention-related gatherings, adding another flexible offering to Universal Orlando’s growing resort destination.

The latest aerial images also show activity on a large parcel of land along Universal Boulevard, adjacent to Topgolf Orlando. The property has recently been mass graded and is now covered with drought-tolerant grass after being leveled and filled with sand. While the site is owned by Universal Orlando Resort, there are currently no announced construction projects planned for this specific area, suggesting it will remain available for future expansion when the time is right.

Universal has previously filed permits for additional attraction work elsewhere around Epic Universe, but this particular parcel appears to be serving as a long-term expansion pad rather than an active construction site.

Aerial Footage Reveals Massive Track Layout Progress for Fast and Furious Hollywood Drift

New construction images reveal significant progress throughout the former Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit site, with long stretches of light gray track now installed across the heart of the project. Several sweeping turns have been completed, making the overall layout much easier to follow as it winds around the construction site and past the Hard Rock Cafe. The track now flows through multiple blue support structures, giving guests their clearest look yet at how the coaster will weave through the front of Universal Studios Florida.

One of the attraction’s most impressive features remains the towering 170-foot spike near Universal CityWalk. Universal has previously confirmed that riders will rocket nearly 17 stories into the air before the train comes to a stop and reverses direction. While the spike itself has been standing for some time, additional track and support pieces continue to be installed around the area as crews work to connect more of the coaster’s layout.

Elsewhere on the site, construction has advanced on several banked turns and the smaller bunny hop section leading toward the spike. From above, these once-isolated track pieces are now beginning to connect into a more complete ride path. Nearby staging areas remain packed with additional track segments and support columns, signaling that plenty of installation work is still ahead.

When it opens in 2027, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will replace Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit with a high-speed launch coaster inspired by Universal’s blockbuster film franchise. While there’s still a long way to go before trains begin testing, these latest aerial images show the project rapidly transforming from a construction zone into one of Universal Orlando’s most anticipated new attractions.

The latest overhead images reveal significant progress in the heart of the resort where the massive recreation courtyard, known as The Wetlands, is taking shape. While there’s still plenty of work ahead, guests can now clearly make out the winding layout of the future lazy river, the footprint of the oversized splash pad, and surrounding pool areas that will become the centerpiece of the new Disney Vacation Club resort.

The lazy river’s curving path is now easily recognizable, wrapping through the courtyard as crews continue work on the surrounding landscaping, walkways, and recreation spaces. Nearby, the splash pad area has also become much more defined, with concrete work progressing rapidly. As construction continues, these spaces are beginning to resemble the concept art Disney previously released, giving fans a better idea of how the resort will eventually come together.

The resort buildings themselves have also made impressive progress, with much of the exterior structure complete and roofing installed across large portions of the property. Construction activity remains busy throughout the site, with crews continuing work on guest room wings, outdoor amenities, and infrastructure around the resort.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge is expected to bring a nature-inspired retreat to the former River Country site along Bay Lake. Once complete, The Wetlands promises to be one of the resort’s standout features, offering guests a relaxing lazy river, an expansive splash play area, and beautiful waterfront recreation spaces that fit perfectly with the resort’s outdoor theme.

Named after the iconic character from The Fifth Element, Leeloo is believed to be the smallest, and possibly the youngest, sloth currently in the Zoo’s care. She’s so tiny that some of the pieces of produce in her daily diet are actually longer than her claws.

According to the Zoo, Leeloo was very shy during her first few weeks, preferring to stay tucked away in her hanging cubby. Recently, however, she’s become much more confident. She now happily comes out to accept food from her keepers and has started spending more time exploring her habitat.

When she’s ready to relax, Leeloo has a favorite hangout. Most days, visitors can find her curled up in her hanging bucket, enjoying a peaceful sloth nap between her adventures.

Disney Quietly Adds Mobile Order Geofencing at Select Walt Disney World Resort Hotels

Disney appears to be tightening access to mobile ordering at several Walt Disney World Resort hotels, with a new geofencing feature now preventing guests from placing orders unless they are physically near the restaurant.

Disney World Cracks Down on Resort Mobile Orders with New Location Requirements

Guests have begun encountering a new message in the My Disney Experience app that reads, “You’re Too Far Away,” when attempting to place mobile orders from certain resort dining locations. The change appears to use the same location-based technology Disney already employs for merchandise mobile checkout and restaurant walk-up lists, requiring guests to be within a designated area before accessing the feature.

So far, the new restriction seems limited to several Magic Kingdom area Deluxe Resorts. Mobile ordering is now geofenced at Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Contempo Cafe and Steakhouse 71 To Go at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Capt. Cook’s and Kona Cafe To Go at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Roaring Fork and Geyser Point Bar & Grill To Go at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Interestingly, Trail’s End Restaurant at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground does not appear to be affected, and mobile ordering at other Walt Disney World Resort hotels remains unchanged.

Disney World Cracks Down on Resort Mobile Orders with New Location Requirements

Previously, guests could place mobile orders from virtually anywhere, whether they were at home, in another Disney park, or elsewhere on property. While some resort restaurants displayed messaging suggesting mobile ordering was intended for resort guests, the policy was not actively enforced. This new geofencing technology changes that by requiring guests to be physically near participating restaurants before an order can be placed.

The update also follows another recent operational change at Walt Disney World. Earlier this month, Disney announced that bus and watercraft transportation from Disney Springs to resort hotels would only be available to guests with a confirmed hotel reservation, dining reservation, or eligible recreation booking. Together, these changes suggest Disney is continuing to manage access to its most popular Magic Kingdom area resorts, especially those that attract large numbers of visitors for dining and resort hopping.

Disney has not officially announced the rollout, and at this time the restriction appears to be limited to just these four resort hotels. It remains to be seen whether geofenced mobile ordering will eventually expand to additional Walt Disney World locations.

The Hallmark Holiday Ever After Cast Fails the No Smile Challenge on Slinky Dog Dash

The Hallmark Holiday Ever After Cast Fails the No Smile Challenge on Slinky Dog Dash

The ‘Holiday Ever After’ Stars Flunk the No-Smile Challenge

The cast of Hallmark’s Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True put their acting skills to the test as they attempted to maintain completely blank expressions while riding Slinky Dog Dash at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Taking on the ultimate coaster challenge was an all-star lineup featuring Lacey Chabert, Travis Van Winkle, Christy Carlson Romano, Bryce Dufee, and Taegen Burns.

While they all started out strong, Lacey Chabert quickly failed the challenge and the others followed soon after. You can watch the full video below:

The upcoming festive film also stars Richard Kind and Asher Alexander, featuring a special cameo role by Patrick Renna. First announced back in December, the production shot entirely on location around Walt Disney World before wrapping up filming in February. Audiences can look forward to its highly anticipated debut later this year as part of the Hallmark Channel’s 17th annual Countdown to Christmas lineup.

The heartwarming story follows Lindsey (played by Lacey Chabert) and her extended family as they travel to the Most Magical Place on Earth for a dream Christmas vacation together. However, Lindsey’s holiday plans take an unexpected turn when she discovers that her resort room is directly next door to Philip (Travis Van Winkle)—a disastrous recent first date who happens to be hosting his own family trip at the exact same time.

As the two families continuously cross paths throughout their stay, the initial frost between the pair begins to thaw as they realize they share a lot more in common than they thought. Thanks to a dash of theme park magic, the holiday wish Lindsey made at the Cinderella fountain might just transform their frosty rivalry into a sweet holiday romance.
