Disney Magic Arrests in San Diego were Part of Child Porn Sting and NOT ICE

Disney Cruise Line Crew Member Arrests Linked to Child Exploitation Investigation, Not Immigration Enforcement

New details have emerged regarding the recent arrests of cruise ship crew members in San Diego, including workers aboard the Disney Magic, and the story is far more serious than initially reported.

Disney Cruise Line Arrests in San Diego were Part of Child Porn Sting and NOT ICE

Early reports following the April 23 incident suggested the arrests were connected to immigration enforcement activity by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). However, updated information from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) confirms the arrests were actually part of a multi-ship investigation tied to child sexual exploitation material, often referred to as CSEM.

According to CBP, officers boarded multiple cruise ships docked at the Port of San Diego between April 23 and April 25. A total of 28 crew members were arrested across five vessels during the operation.

Officials stated the investigation involved crew members suspected of “the receipt, possession, transportation, distribution, or viewing” of child sexual exploitation material. Those arrested reportedly included 26 crew members from the Philippines, one from Portugal, and one from Indonesia.

While Disney Cruise Line was among the cruise lines involved, officials noted that the majority of the individuals arrested were not Disney employees. Disney Cruise Line issued a statement saying:

“We have a zero-tolerance policy for this type of behavior and fully cooperated with law enforcement. While the majority of these individuals were not from our cruise line, those who were are no longer with the company.”

The arrests reportedly took place aboard several ships, including the Disney Magic and Holland America’s Zaandam. Following the investigation, the crew members involved had their visas revoked and were being deported from the United States.

The incident initially sparked confusion online after witnesses reported seeing crew members detained at the port, leading to widespread speculation that the operation was immigration-related. Updated statements from CBP now clarify that the enforcement action centered specifically on criminal allegations involving child exploitation material.

Disney Moms are Celebrated at Disney Parks

Disney moms have long been the heart of families that grow together at our parks, both through the memories they create and the meaningful careers they build. For countless cast members, the Disney journey is a family legacy inspired by mothers whose dedication and perseverance opened new doors of opportunity.

This Mother’s Day, we are celebrating these incredible women and the families they shape. We are proud to spotlight the Disney moms whose professional paths have paved the way for their children, strengthening the generational bonds that connect Disney’s parks and resorts.

Disney moms

Disney World Mom Shares a Family Cast Connection with Her Kids

For Connie, a career at Walt Disney World Resort began with a simple weekend job and grew into a lifelong journey.

Connie joined Disney World at just 16 years old while still in high school. What started as an after-school job soon became the foundation of a career that has spanned more than 35 years. Over the decades, she worked across parks and resorts before moving into Workforce Management, where she has supported thousands of cast members behind the scenes since 2005.

At the same time, Connie was raising her two children on her own, with Disney World becoming a second home for their family. From days spent in the parks and water parks to cruises together, Disney was always part of their everyday life. More importantly, her children grew up watching their mom build a career she was proud of, one step at a time.

Today, that connection has come full circle.

Connie’s son, Matthew, now works in food and beverage at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort, where he connects with guests while pursuing his passion for pastry and culinary arts at Valencia College through Disney Aspire, the company’s education investment program.

Her daughter, Aiyana, recently joined Walt Disney World and is beginning her own journey, inspired by the example she grew up watching. She is studying business administration through Disney Aspire and hopes to one day step into a leadership role.

“Growing up, I always saw how much my mom cared about what she did,” Matthew said. “Watching her build a career here at Disney made me want to find something I’m passionate about too, and Disney has given me the chance to do that.”

Seeing their mom grow within the company left a lasting impression.

att pnkIeRfLspcROrVIsNuBAYHxZyhoetMKhyBhpc

“Watching my mom build her career has really inspired me,” Aiyana said. “It pushes me to work hard, keep learning, and believe that one day I can build something just as meaningful.”

Working at the same company has given the family a new way to connect, from sharing everyday work experiences to celebrating milestones together. Connie says watching her children build their own journeys has been one of the most rewarding parts of her career.

“One of my proudest moments has been seeing my kids find their own paths here,” Connie said. “Disney has supported me through every stage of my life, and now I get to see that same support extended to my children.”

This Mother’s Day, Connie’s family celebrates more than a career. They celebrate a legacy of growth and opportunity passed from one generation of cast members to the next.

Disneyland Resort Mom Inspired Three Daughters to Follow Her Into the Magic

Across the country at Disneyland Resort, one mother’s journey sparked a legacy that continues to inspire across generations. For the Sweetman family, that inspiration began with Jenny Sweetman.

Jenny joined Disneyland Resort in 1983, stepping into her first role as a hostess in New Orleans Square. What followed was not just a career, but a lifelong journey shaped by growth, opportunity, and an unwavering commitment to people. Over the next four decades, she built experience across nearly every corner of the resort.

att sThrvWaDKrPZfonSRTCAmNiyROjyAxAGPnGDNQY

While Disneyland Resort shaped Jenny’s professional path, its impact extended far beyond her own career. As her three daughters grew up around the parks watching their mom show up with pride, care, and purpose they also began to imagine futures for themselves as part of that same magic.

“As kids, we didn’t always understand what our mom did,” shared her daughter, Jessica. “We just knew she worked at Disneyland, and that meant something. We saw how much she loved what she did, and how much she cared about the people she worked with.”

Jenny balanced leadership roles with motherhood, modeling what it meant to be an amazing leader while staying fully grounded in her family. She never charted a specific path for her children but showed them how meaningful work could be.

att WiDyIKwgECQhHdqzpjUlQWGHF FDySNQbK

“I just wanted them to know they could do anything,” Jenny said. “Disney gave me the space to grow, and I wanted them to feel that same kind of possibilities for themselves.”

Kellie was the first of Jenny’s daughters to follow in her footsteps, joining Disneyland Resort in 2011 and beginning her own leadership journey. Over the years, she built experience across several operational areas, taking on new challenges and eventually advancing into roles focused on safety.

Along the way, she pursued higher education with the support of Disney’s Educational Program, continuing the legacy of growth and leadership she watched her mom model firsthand.

att sRJrWWspniSvfLgtkVtkdNBzHkcVnNXWyHCVNYzI

Not long after, Andie joined the resort, starting her career in retail while working toward a degree in Hospitality Management. From supporting major park moments to exploring creative roles she once only dreamed about, Andie credits her mom for fostering independence and confidence.

Nearly 30 years to the day after Jenny’s first role began, Jessica hired into Disneyland Resort, starting in the very same land where her mom’s journey first began. A beautiful, full circle moment. Years later, with the help of Disney Aspire, she earned her MBA and now works in communications, helping tell cast stories across the resort.

att nhBEWpAy QgAx SFM GNZPpmRDgtfJUKk

At Disney, cast members do not just find a job, they find a place to belong, to grow, and to build careers that often span an average of 12 years.

This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating Jenny and moms like her, whose love for the parks and dedication to people help keep the magic moving forward one family, one career, and one generation at a time.

These stories remind us that Disney is more than a place to work. It is a place where passion is passed down and futures take shape across generations. Through leadership, mentorship, and example, Disney moms continue to inspire not only their own families, but cast members across our parks and resorts, leaving a legacy that lives on in the magic they help create every day.

A viral TikTok video making the rounds online shows a guest aboard Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney’s Animal Kingdom climbing out of the safari truck mid-ride to relieve himself in the bushes alongside the attraction route.

According to the now-deleted video originally posted by TikTok user @itsedwinlv, the guest suddenly hopped out of the open-sided safari vehicle while it was stopped on the attraction path. Other guests remained seated as the truck sat idle, with at least one additional safari vehicle visible waiting behind them.

After finishing his unexpected “nature break,” the guest reportedly climbed back into the ride vehicle and rejoined his family. The clip ends before showing whether Disney Cast Members intervened or if the guest faced any consequences afterward.

Kilimanjaro Safaris is one of Animal Kingdom’s signature attractions, taking guests on an approximately 18-minute expedition through the Harambe Wildlife Reserve featuring giraffes, lions, elephants, rhinos, crocodiles, and other live animals roaming across open habitats. Guests are strictly prohibited from exiting ride vehicles at any point during the experience due to both operational and safety concerns.

The incident quickly sparked debate online, with reactions ranging from disbelief and jokes to discussions about possible safety violations and park consequences. While Disney has not publicly commented on the situation, unauthorized exits from attractions can potentially result in removal from the park or other disciplinary action depending on the circumstances.

Needless to say, this was probably not the kind of “wildlife encounter” fellow safari riders expected that day. One thing is certain: this guest definitely took the phrase “going wild at Animal Kingdom” a little too literally.

For those wondering, yes… the internet has already crowned this one of the wildest Walt Disney World guest behavior stories of 2026. 🦁🚽

While Universal has only officially confirmed the return of fan-favorite icons Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow for HHN 35, the latest speculation maps are packed with rumored IPs, original concepts, and anniversary tributes.

For Orlando, the rumored haunted house lineup includes:

• Stranger Things
• Ozzy Osbourne

• The Carey Zoo: Feeding Time
• Evil Dead Burn
• H.R. Bloodengutz Presents 35 Years of Horror

• Invasion of Lightning Gulch
• Zyborgs!

The speculation map also hints at several scare zones themed to HHN history and horror icons, including rumored concepts like “35 Years of Fear,” “Clowns of HHN,” and even a possible “Fortnitemares” crossover scare zone.

Entertainment rumors point toward the return of Nightmare Fuel with a sixth version of the popular fire-heavy stage show, along with a new lagoon spectacular and roaming zombie performers at Mel’s Dine-In.

Meanwhile over in Hollywood, the rumored lineup looks equally chaotic in the best possible HHN way.

This year’s HHN 35 already feels poised to lean heavily into legacy nostalgia, especially with anniversary-themed concepts like “35 Years of Horror” and the return of classic HHN icons. Add in rumors of Stranger Things returning to the fog alongside music legend Ozzy Osbourne and iconic horror franchises like Hellraiser, and the hype train is leaving the station at full speed.

ICE Reportedly Detains Disney Cruise Line Crew Members in San Diego During Disney Magic Visit

A troubling report out of San Diego is drawing attention to immigration enforcement actions involving crew members aboard Disney Magic during a recent Disney Cruise Line sailing.

U S Immigration and Customs Enforcement Detains Disney Magic Crew Members in San Diego Port

According to NBC San Diego and eyewitness accounts shared during a local news conference, several crew members from the Disney Magic were reportedly detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after the ship arrived at the B Street Cruise Terminal in San Diego on April 23.

Passenger Dharmi Mehta said she witnessed crew members being escorted into a white van in restraints after disembarking from a five-day sailing aboard the ship. One of the individuals reportedly detained was the head waiter who had served Mehta’s family during the cruise.

Mehta told reporters the crew members were still wearing their Disney Cruise Line uniforms and did not appear to have any personal belongings with them at the time.

“It was really unsettling,” Mehta said during the press conference, expressing concern about whether the crew members had any ability to contact their families following the detentions.

The reported ICE action took place the same day Disney Cruise Line and the Port of San Diego announced an extension of their partnership agreement through 2031. The agreement allows Disney Cruise Line to continue seasonal sailings from San Diego for years to come.

Representatives from migrant advocacy organizations joined the press conference, alleging similar detentions involving crew members from other cruise lines in recent weeks. Advocacy groups called for greater transparency from federal agencies and urged cruise operators to provide additional protections and support for international employees working aboard ships docking in the United States.

The Port of San Diego later released a statement clarifying that the Port’s Harbor Police Department was not involved in the reported enforcement actions. Officials noted that the B Street Cruise Terminal operates as a federal port of entry, placing immigration enforcement authority under the jurisdiction of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

At the time of publication, neither Disney Cruise Line nor CBP had publicly commented on the specific circumstances surrounding the reported detentions.

Disney Cruise Line has continued rapidly expanding in recent years, with additional ships planned as part of the company’s growing global fleet strategy. The Disney Magic currently sails a variety of itineraries, including seasonal cruises from San Diego to destinations along the Mexican Riviera.

Disney to Launch New Charity License Plates for California Children’s Hospitals

California Disney fans, it’s time to trade in those plain white license plates for a little extra pixie dust!

A magical new collaboration has just been announced between the Disneyland Resort, the California Children’s Hospital Association (CCHA), and the California State Treasurer’s Office. Together, they are launching a brand-new Disneyland-themed specialty license plate, with proceeds going directly to support 13 children’s hospitals across the Golden State.

For years, Disney fans in Florida have been able to sport Walt Disney World plates to benefit Make-A-Wish, and now West Coast fans finally get their chance to drive with a purpose.

While the final design is still under wraps (Disney loves a good surprise!), the mission is clear. Revenue from the plates will be deposited into a state fund administered by the California Health Facilities Financing Authority (CHFFA). The funds will support essential healthcare services, clinical education, and patient-family support programs at hospitals including:

  • Children’s Hospital Los Angeles
  • CHOC (Children’s Health of Orange County)
  • Rady Children’s (San Diego)
  • UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals
  • …and many more across the state.

Disneyland Resort President Jill Estorino shared that this initiative carries forward Walt Disney’s personal legacy of visiting children’s hospitals to bring joy and comfort to patients.

license plates

Before these hit the road, there is one “mountain” to climb. The California DMV requires a minimum of 7,500 preorders before the plates can officially go into production.

Here is the breakdown of the costs:

  • Sequential Plate (Standard): $50 (with a $40 annual renewal fee)
  • Personalized Plate: $103 (with an $83 annual renewal fee)

Note: These fees are in addition to your standard annual vehicle registration.

Right now, the program is in the “Interest List” phase. You can head over to the California State Treasurer’s website to sign up. By joining the list, you’ll be the first to see the design reveal and get notified as soon as official preorders open.

Are you planning on snagging one of these for your car?
