The Hallmark Holiday Ever After Cast Fails the No Smile Challenge on Slinky Dog Dash

The Hallmark Holiday Ever After Cast Fails the No Smile Challenge on Slinky Dog Dash

The ‘Holiday Ever After’ Stars Flunk the No-Smile Challenge

The cast of Hallmark’s Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True put their acting skills to the test as they attempted to maintain completely blank expressions while riding Slinky Dog Dash at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Taking on the ultimate coaster challenge was an all-star lineup featuring Lacey Chabert, Travis Van Winkle, Christy Carlson Romano, Bryce Dufee, and Taegen Burns.

While they all started out strong, Lacey Chabert quickly failed the challenge and the others followed soon after. You can watch the full video below:

The upcoming festive film also stars Richard Kind and Asher Alexander, featuring a special cameo role by Patrick Renna. First announced back in December, the production shot entirely on location around Walt Disney World before wrapping up filming in February. Audiences can look forward to its highly anticipated debut later this year as part of the Hallmark Channel’s 17th annual Countdown to Christmas lineup.

The heartwarming story follows Lindsey (played by Lacey Chabert) and her extended family as they travel to the Most Magical Place on Earth for a dream Christmas vacation together. However, Lindsey’s holiday plans take an unexpected turn when she discovers that her resort room is directly next door to Philip (Travis Van Winkle)—a disastrous recent first date who happens to be hosting his own family trip at the exact same time.

As the two families continuously cross paths throughout their stay, the initial frost between the pair begins to thaw as they realize they share a lot more in common than they thought. Thanks to a dash of theme park magic, the holiday wish Lindsey made at the Cinderella fountain might just transform their frosty rivalry into a sweet holiday romance.

Nearly 600 Central Florida Kids Learn Life-Saving Water Safety Skills at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon

Nearly 600 children from across Central Florida made a splash this week at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon as they took part in The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson, an annual event focused on teaching life-saving water safety skills. With the help of Disney lifeguards and Olympic gold medalist Simone Manuel, the day was filled with confidence-building, first-time experiences, and plenty of fun in the Florida sun.

Walt Disney World Welcomes Nearly 600 Community Kids for the Worlds Largest Swimming Lesson

Walt Disney World once again served as the largest lesson site in Florida for the worldwide event, which is organized each year by the World Waterpark Association. Around 100 Disney lifeguards volunteered their time to teach essential swimming techniques to children from five local nonprofit organizations, helping participants develop skills that are especially important in a state surrounded by pools, lakes, rivers, and beaches.

For many of the children, this wasn’t just their first swimming lesson. It was also their first visit to a water park. Disney says creating those unforgettable first experiences is just as meaningful as teaching water safety, giving kids the confidence to enjoy the water for years to come.

Adding to the excitement, Olympic gold medal swimmer Simone Manuel surprised participants by jumping into the water and helping lead the lessons. Manuel, who also serves as ESPN’s newest Take Back Sports Ambassador, said the event aligns perfectly with her mission of making life-saving swimming skills accessible to more children while helping them build confidence and resilience.

The event welcomed children through five Central Florida nonprofit organizations supported by Disney: Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, Girl Scouts of Citrus, Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, ELEVATE Orlando, and the Alianza Center. Following the swim lesson, the kids spent the rest of the day enjoying Disney’s Cool KIDS’ SUMMER activities throughout Typhoon Lagoon, including attractions, games, and dance parties.

The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson is just one of the many ways Walt Disney World is giving back to the local community this summer. Earlier this month, Disney also announced a $1.3 million investment in education programs across five Central Florida counties, continuing its commitment to creating opportunities for local families both inside and outside the parks.

Whether it’s making magical memories or teaching skills that can save lives, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon proved this week that some of the most meaningful splashes happen long before anyone heads down a water slide.

The biggest new addition is “A Masquerade with Stitch,” taking over the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland. Stitch, along with Lilo and Angel, will host an interactive dance party that changes throughout the night. After getting his paws on Lilo’s costume trunk, Stitch continuously swaps costumes and themes, creating an unpredictable party where guests never know what surprise is coming next. It sounds like the perfect blend of Halloween fun and Stitch’s trademark chaos.

Adventureland is also getting a new live entertainment offering with “Spirited Swashbucklers.” Captain Jack Sparrow has dropped anchor to lead guests through a series of pirate antics, bringing plenty of laughs and adventurous energy to the land. While Disney hasn’t revealed exactly what guests can expect, it looks to be an interactive roaming experience that fits perfectly alongside Adventureland’s pirate-themed attractions.

These new experiences join a packed lineup of returning entertainment at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, including Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, The Cadaver Dans, trick-or-treat trails, character meet and greets, attraction overlays, and exclusive Halloween snacks and merchandise.

Disney World’s “Find Merchandise” Feature Expands to All Guests in My Disney Experience

Finding that perfect Disney souvenir just got a little easier! Walt Disney World has expanded its “Find Merchandise” feature in the My Disney Experience app to all guests, giving everyone the ability to check whether select items are currently in stock before making the trek across Disney Springs.

The feature first debuted as a limited test last November, but Disney has now rolled it out to all users while continuing to label it as a test. Guests can now search for the tool directly within the My Disney Experience app instead of only accessing it from the home screen. After tapping “Start Searching,” users can search for a specific item, browse top products, or check out trending merchandise searches.

Once you find the item you’re looking for, the app displays its current price along with a “Check Shop Availability” option. At the moment, inventory is limited to just one location: World of Disney at Disney Springs. While that may seem restrictive, it’s still a handy way to avoid arriving only to discover that must-have popcorn bucket, Spirit Jersey, or plush has already sold out.

Disney fans may remember a similar inventory lookup feature from years ago that was tied to shopDisney. That service eventually disappeared, reportedly because of the challenges of maintaining accurate real-time inventory. This latest version suggests Disney has made enough improvements behind the scenes to give the concept another shot, and hopefully this is just the first step toward expanding availability checks to merchandise locations across Walt Disney World.

The update joins several recent enhancements to the My Disney Experience app, including the ability to store Disney Gift Cards in MyDisney Wallet, streamlined resort check-in, and booking eligible park reservations directly within the app. If Disney continues expanding the “Find Merchandise” feature to additional stores, it could become one of the app’s most useful planning tools for shoppers.

All-New Earl of Sandwich Now Open in Downtown Disney

An all-new Earl of Sandwich is now open in Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif. Menu selections include The Original 1762, The Full Montagu and The Holiday Turkey, as well as other freshly baked sandwiches on artisan breads, soups, salads, sides, breakfast items and desserts. The All-New Earl of Sandwich Reopens in Downtown Disney!

The wait is officially over: Earl of Sandwich has made its grand return to the Downtown Disney District! Debuting its biggest and most immersive restaurant experience yet, the new location offers guests innovative ways to connect with the brand while still delivering the classic hospitality fans love.

The celebrated brand was founded by hospitality pioneer Robert Earl in partnership with the Montagu family—including John Montagu, the 11th Earl of Sandwich, and his son Orlando. The iconic eatery proudly traces its roots all the way back to 1762, when the 4th Earl of Sandwich famously inspired the invention of the world’s favorite handheld meal.

The big news at this location? The debut of The Carvery. This centerpiece experience brings a little culinary theater to your meal, giving you a front-row seat as premium pastrami is carved fresh throughout the day. It is the ultimate showcase for the brand-new Earl’s Pastrami sandwich, which features slow-cooked pastrami piled high with Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, Dijonnaise, and Thousand Island dressing on marbled rye. Don’t worry, purists—you can still grab legendary favorites like The Full Montagu® and The Original 1762®, alongside their classic wraps, fresh salads, and cold-cut deli options.

But the menu upgrades don’t stop at lunch. A freshly expanded bakery serves up oversized, topping-loaded cookies, pillowy cinnamon rolls, and rotating seasonal treats all day long. Plus, if you’re looking to sit back and relax, The Pub (located right inside the restaurant) invites guests to unwind with draft beers, wine, frozen cocktails, and refreshing seasonal sips.

“We didn’t want to simply build another Earl of Sandwich. We wanted to create a destination worthy of the Downtown Disney District,” said Robert Earl, founder of Earl of Sandwich. “Earl of Sandwich has always been rooted in a remarkable story, but history alone isn’t enough. As Downtown Disney enters an exciting new chapter, we saw an opportunity to reimagine what Earl of Sandwich could be alongside it. This new location honors our heritage while creating moments of discovery around every corner, all while delivering the quality, exceptional value, and hospitality our guests have come to expect from us.”

To mark this massive milestone, royal sandwich history is coming straight to Anaheim! Luke Montagu, the 12th Earl of Sandwich and direct descendant of the man who started it all, will be traveling to the Disneyland Resort for the grand opening celebration on Wednesday, July 15. More than 260 years after the sandwich first changed the culinary game, his special appearance brings the brand’s incredible heritage full circle for a whole new generation of Disney guests.

Planning a visit to taste the magic for yourself? Located right in the heart of the Downtown Disney® District, the new Earl of Sandwich is open daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and keeps the party going from 8 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

An official grand opening for the restaurant is slated for Wednesday, July 15.

A Retro First Look at Gordon Ramsay at the Carnaby

The multi-colored construction walls have officially come down on one side of the upcoming Gordon Ramsay at the Carnaby eatery. While theme park fans have been able to peek at the upper half of the building for weeks, removing the lower barriers reveals the restaurant’s striking facade.

The lower half features a gorgeous, retro-looking front door in a rich cognac brown color. To the right of the entrance, a decorative structure catches the eye with a vertically repeating, geometric fretwork composed of modern lines and squares. Look closely, and you’ll notice the restaurant’s lettering beautifully embedded within these cutout sections! Right in front of the entrance, a sleek section of gray tile flooring has also been laid down, signaling that the restaurant is moving closer to completion.

Gordon Ramsay isn’t the only one getting a glow-up. The construction walls have also come down and shifted around the future permanent home of Earl of Sandwich.

The removal of these heavy barriers gives guests a much clearer view of how the Downtown Disney expansion is seamlessly coming together. With the walkways opening up and the architectural details finally on display, the entire zone is starting to look like the vibrant, modern district Disney promised.

Disney and Pixar Announce Brand New Lilo and Stitch and Finding Nemo Short Films for Theaters

Titled Lilo & Scratch, this new short is set shortly after the events of the original movie and follows Stitch, Lilo, and a mischievous new rescue cat named Scratch, who has his sights set on eating Pudge the fish! Fans will be thrilled to hear that Chris Sanders is back to voice Stitch, while Maia Kealoha—the breakout star of the 2025 live-action adaptation—lends her voice to Lilo.

According to Nexus Point News, the short features a brilliant blend of animation styles: Lilo and Stitch are brought to life as CG models, while the chaotic new kitty, Scratch, is entirely hand-drawn. The project is directed by Fawn Veerasunthorn and features a heavy dose of nostalgia, with several artists from the original film, including veteran animator Alex Kupershmidt, returning to bring the magic back to the screen.

“The original film had a massive impact on our artistic journeys, and that was true for so many artists at the studio who reached out the second they heard we were pitching a Stitch short,” Veerasunthorn shared. She noted that they didn’t just assemble a team of passionate Lilo & Stitch fans; they actually got to collaborate directly with the legendary artists behind the 2002 classic.

Among those returning creators is Stitch’s original supervising animator, Alex Kupershmidt. “We have the incredible good fortune to work alongside Mr. Alex Kupershmidt,” Veerasunthorn told Deadline. “He’s always reminding us, ‘This is a cartoon. Push it very, very far. What are you afraid of?’”

The short film is set to debut exclusively in theaters on November 25, 2026, playing right before Disney’s upcoming feature, Hexed.

Just keep swimming… and falling in love? Pixar also revealed Loving Dory, a brand-new Finding Nemo short directed by Lou Hamou-Lhadj and produced by Mary Alice Drumm. The hilarious premise features Dory falling for a plastic bag she mistakes for a jellyfish. An exact release date hasn’t been set, but Pixar confirmed it will debut exclusively in theaters ahead of an unannounced future feature.
