“Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2” leaves Litwak’s video arcade behind, venturing into the uncharted, expansive and thrilling world of the internet—which may or may not survive Ralph’s wrecking. Video game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) must risk it all by traveling to the world wide web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush. In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet—the netizens—to help navigate their way, including a webite entrepreneur named Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site “BuzzzTube.” The film is directed by Rich Moore and Phil Johnston and produced by Clark Spencer.

“Ralph Brakes the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2” is coming to theaters November 21, 2018!

The Disneyland Fruity Pebbles Donut is the Perfect Combination of Two Breakfast Favorites!

Disneyland Fruity Pebbles Donut

We just celebrated National Donut Day last week, but we think EVERYDAY should be Donut Day – especially when you visit the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim! Have you paid a visit to the Coffee Cart on Main Street U.S.A. at Disneyland park?  If not, you must!  Maybe you can even grab a Disneyland Fruity Pebbles Donut while you’re there!

I feel like this is the most amazing combination of breakfast foods from my youth (I promise we didn’t live on pure sugar in the mornings!).  But seriously, a donut topped with delicious Fruity Pebbles cereal?  I’ve been sold since the beginning!

You can see the delicious donut is covered in a yellow (vanilla) frosting and the coated with Fruity Pebbles cereal. And that is just one of the amazing creations you’ll find at the Coffee Cart on Main Street U.S.A. at Disneyland park.  I was also pretty sold when I heard Chocolate Covered Potato Chip donut!! And check out the new UP! Donut – also available at the Coffee Cart on Main Street!

These donuts sell for around $6 each – which in my mind is just a small price to pay for an out of the box and uniquely delicious treat.  They tend to go pretty fast though – so if you want to scoop one up make this an early stop in your day.

And it’s not only donuts – the Disneyland Resort has so many fun and unique treats!  We are loving the new Mickey and Minnie Sundaes at Clarabelle’s and it isn’t a trip to Disneyland without at least one churro, right?!

Do you have a favorite sweet treat to grab when you visit the Disneyland Resort?  Make sure you share it with us in the comments below or on one of our social media pages!  We love knowing what you love to snack on when visiting the parks!

Solo: A Star Wars Story Weekend Box Office Numbers Are Here!

Solo: A Star Wars Story Weekend Box Office

Weekend box office numbers are in. Solo: A Star Wars Story ranked #1 at the domestic box office this weekend while Deadpool captured the number one spot worldwide. Here’s a look at what the weekend shook out to be!

“Solo: A Star Wars Story” brought in $29.3 million in the domestic market this weekend for a total so far of $148.8 million. In the domestic market Deadpool, in its third weekend in the theaters made $23.3 million for gross domestic box office of $254.6 million. Worldwide those two movies switched places with Deadpool brining in $64.9 million and Solo: A Star Wars Story” seeing $59.6 million.

Worldwide Deadpool has grossed $598.6 million since its release and Solo: A Star Wars Story has brought in $264.2 million.

“Solo: A Star Wars Story”  had a 65% drop this weekend.  It wasn’t totally unexpected following the film’s steady decline during the week after its disappointing debut last weekend.  In this latest release in the Star Wars franchise, we get to board the Millennium Falcon and take a journey to a galaxy far, far away with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo befriends his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and meets the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

The film stars Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Joonas Suotamo, and Paul Bettany. Solo: A Star Wars Story was directed by Ron Howard and produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel. Lawrence Kasdan, Jason McGatlin, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller serve as executive producers. The screen play was written by Jonathan Kasdan & Lawrence Kasdan.

Have We Been Given A Disneyland Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Opening Clue?

Disneyland Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opening clue

Last month it was announced by Disney Parks & Resorts that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge would open during the summer of 2019 at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim and in the fall of 2019 at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando.  Specific dates were not given and since then park goers have been trying to narrow down opening dates at both parks.  While nothing is official, we have have been given a Disneyland Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening clue earlier this month!

A few days ago we shared the news with you that changes are being made to the Disneyland Annual Passport program beginning in June of 2019. This new program has blockout dates by park.  There are also additional blockouts for Deluxe and SoCal annual passholders for June 2019 at Disneyland park vs the dates and pattern listed for this month.

The idea is that Disneyland will issue blockouts for as many APs as possible when this new land opens in the hopes that the massive crowds that are to be expected will be slightly less.  We are also seeing that, unlike this June, Deluxe Annual Passport holders have fewer blockout days in June of 2019 at Disney California Adventure park. Maybe to help even out the crowds at both parks?

So let’s take a closer look at these dates, shall we?!?

In June of 2018 So Cal Select Passholders are blocked out for the whole month of June with the exception of the 4th through the 7th.  For this year Deluxe Passholders are blocked out every Saturday for the month of June (2nd, 9, 16th, 23rd, and 30th).  For June of 2019 however, So Cal Select Passholders are blocked out for the entire month of June.  Deluxe Passholders are blocked out every Friday, Saturday and Sunday (with the exception of the first Sunday of the month) as well as the whole week of the 24th – so basically from June 21-30 Deluxe Passholders are blocked out of Disneyland park.

Signature and Signature Plus Annual Passport holders see no change in blackout dates.

All of this could lead one to assume that during the month of June Disneyland wants to control visitors to the park for some reason.  And the most likely reason is the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Now we’re not saying pack your bags for California just yet – but if you’re looking to narrow down months, this may give you a better idea.

Rates and Packages for 2019 have not been released yet, but get a head start on your planning now by FILLING OUT THIS FORM and we will let you know when you can start booking your 2019 Disneyland Resort vacation!

Are you excited for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the Disneyland Resort next summer and the Walt Disney World Resort later that year?! I know all of us at Chip and Co are anxiously awaiting any and all news from both parks!

I love seeing some of my favorite Disney Princesses in this trailer.  And they answer my burning question “Why isn’t it Ralph Wrecks the Internet instead of Breaks the Internet?!

Movie Review – “Peter Pan” Walt Disney Signature Collection

Peter Pan Signature Collection

Off to Neverland! It’s time to hold on to your happy thought and soar to past “the second star to the right and straight on till morning”. Disney will be debuting the Peter Pan Signature Collection tomorrow (June 5, 2018) on Blu-Ray as part of the Walt Disney Signature Collection. I just received my early copy and I’m loving experiencing this Disney classic movie with my kiddos! The epic Neverland adventure has thankfully remained the same BUT the Peter Pan Signature Collection also includes amazing special features that have never been released before that only add to the experience.

The new Peter Pan Signature Collection release is a must for die-hard Disney fans as it includes over two hours of classic bonus features plus never-before-seen extras, including the latest installment of “Stories from Walt’s Office,” which explores Walt’s love of flying and the company planes. I also loved watching the sweet reunion between Kathryn Beaumont (the voice of Wendy) and Paul Collins (the voice of John). The release also includes new karaoke-style versions of the classic songs “You Can Fly” and deleted song “Never Smile at a Crocodile” accompanied by on-screen lyrics and the film’s unforgettable animated characters.

Movie Review – “Peter Pan” Walt Disney Signature Collection

“Peter Pan” is the seventh title to join the Walt Disney Signature Collection, which includes groundbreaking films created or inspired by the imagination and legacy of Walt Disney, featuring timeless stories and characters that have touched generations. The film takes its place alongside “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Pinocchio,” “Bambi,” “The Lion King” and “Lady and the Tramp.”

Here is the complete list of the Bonus Features included with the Peter Pan Signature Collection:

BLU-RAY & DIGITAL*:

  • New Peter Pan Signature Collection Bonus
    • Stories from Walt’s Office: Walt & Flight – “Think of the happiest things, it’s the same as having wings”. One thing you’ll notice inside Walt Disney’s office are all of the models and pictures of airplanes. Walt loved planes and was an aficionado of flying. As a continuation of the “Stories from Walt’s Office” series, we’ll soar into the world of one of Walt’s favorite pastimes and look at the history behind the company airplane he used to scout Central Florida looking for the perfect place to build his second theme park.
    • A “Darling” Conversation with Wendy & John: Kathryn Beaumont and Paul Collins – Join Disney Legend Kathryn Beaumont (the voice of Wendy) and Paul Collins (the voice of John) as they reunite for the first time in many years to reminisce and discuss their experiences working on Peter Pan, meeting Walt Disney and learning to fly … literally.
    • You Can Fly” – A new “Oke” rendition and graphic look of the classic Disney song, “You Can Fly,” with fun lyrics on screen and lots of your favorite “Peter Pan” characters.
    • “Never Smile at a Crocodile” – A new “Oke” rendition and graphic look of the deleted song, “Never Smile at a Crocodile”, with fun lyrics on screen and highlighting the relationship between Captain Hook and Tick-Tock the Crocodile.
  • Legacy/Classic Bonus
    • DisneyView
    • Sing-along Version of the film: Sing along with your favorite songs from the movie.
    • Growing Up with Nine Old Men – “Peter Pan is both a story of living with a child’s sense of openness to the world and an acknowledgment that the path to adulthood most often leads away from those qualities. A parallel of sorts to that duality can be found in Walt Disney and his core group of animators, the Nine Old Men, in their lives and in their work. Our short film will look at who they were and the parts they played in one of the most remarkable team of artists that ever worked together.
    • Deleted Song: “The Pirate’s Song” – Original demo recording of the song played over concept art.
    • Deleted Song: “Never Smile at a Crocodile” – With music played over static concept art of the crocodile from Peter Pan.
    • Deleted Song: “The Boatswain Song” – With music played over static concept art of Captain Hook and his crew.
    • Deleted Scene: “The Journey Home” – A proposed alternate ending where Peter asks the Lost Boys to return home with Wendy and the other children.
    • Deleted Scene: “Alternate Arrival” – A deleted scene where Wendy and the children are initially attacked by the Lost Boys because Tinker Bell tells them that Wendy is holding Peter captive. We also see in this version of the story that Nana the dog travels to Never Land with Wendy and the children.
    • Disney Song Select – Simply play the clip from the movie with subtitles underneath it.
      • “The Second Star to the Right”
      • “You Can Fly”
      • “A Pirate’s Life”
      • “Following the Leader”
      • “Your Mother and Mine”
    • Audio Commentary Hosted by Roy Disney – Audio commentary hosted by Roy Disney, but carried on by several other people.
    • Music and More
      • ”Never Land”: The Lost Song – A bonus piece that sets up the backstory of where this lost song was found and how Richard Sherman recomposed it.
      • Music Video: “Never Land” – Music Performed by Paige O’Hara – A music video of the song “Never Land”
      • Music Video: “The Second Star to the Right” – Music Performed by T-Squad – A music video of the song “The Second Star to the Right” performed by T-Squad.
    • Backstage Disney
      • You Can Fly: The Making of ‘Peter Pan’ – A making-of video of the 1953 Disney classic, “Peter Pan.”
      • In Walt’s Words: “Why I Made ‘Peter Pan’” – Based upon an article written by Walt Disney retold as a dramatic recreation.
      • Tinker Bell: A Fairy’s Tale – An introspective video on the creation, history and personality of the one and only “Tink.”
      • The Peter Pan That Almost Was – Hosted by Ron Clements and John Musker, we take a look at the storyboards and early concepts of a version of the “Peter Pan” film that never saw the light of day.
      • The “Peter Pan” Story – An original featurette for the film created in 1952.

Are Changes Coming to Walt Disney World Rider Swap System?

Rider Swap system

Rider Swap system

Changes may be on the horizon for Walt Disney World’s Rider Swap system. Per our friends over at Doctor Disney, the system is set to go entirely digital which in turn will create some other changes.

Currently, guests looking to take advantage of the system are issued a paper return pass similar to a paper FastPass ticket. With the new, digital system, guests will receive the Rider Swap pass on their My Disney Experience app when the guests looking to ride the attraction have their MagicBands scanned. Right now, three riders are eligible to take advantage of the Rider Swap option but it is unknown if this will stay the same or change if/when the new system launches.

Guests currently using the Rider Swap system are permitted to return at pretty much any time. However, with the new system, the return time will be allotted into one hour periods like how FastPasses are currently scheduled. Only one Rider Swap pass will be given at a time so guests will not be able to “load up” on them as they can now.

No official date has been given when this new Rider Swap system will launch but we are hearing sometime around mid to late June. We are also hearing Cast Members are currently being trained on the new system and will be told to no longer accept any paper Ride Swap passes.

As always, nothing is official until Disney confirms it. Keep following along with us here at Chip & Co to be up-to-date on the potential of this new Rider Swap system.

Disneyland Soars With New UP! Doughnut

UP! Doughnut

Ok, stop everything! Disneyland has introduced an amazing new UP! themed treat. Believe it or not, this incredibly detailed dessert is actually a doughnut. It’s decorated with sky blue frosting and topped with an edible image of Carl Fredricksen’s house. The top of this UP! Doughnut is adorned with colorful balloons that are made out of chocolate!

You can find this gourmet doughnut at The Coffee Cart on Main Street, U.S.A. inside Disneyland Park. The inspiration for these imaginative treats come from Disneyland Resort’s Executive Chef Jason Martin and his team who provide three flavors of donuts to choose from daily. The doughnut menu is always changing so make sure you pick one up soon.  The price range is usually around the $6 mark for each treat.

You read about some of the previous Gourmet Doughnuts, like the UP! Doughnut, created by Executive Chef Jason Martin and his team HERE.

Disneyland Paris Lineberty Testing Continues for Character Meet and Greets

Disneyland Paris Lineberty

Disneyland Paris Lineberty testing continues at Walt Disney Studios Park this month. Lineberty is a service that virtualizes queues, allowing users to join a virtual line using a third party app and then explore other areas of the park while they wait. This service is being tested at Disneyland Paris by allowing guests to schedule select character Meet and Greet times.

Beginning on June 7th, guests can use this new system to met Disney Characters at Toon Plaza and The Incredibles at Art of Disney Animation.  And then from June 10th until September 30th, guests will be able to use Lineberty to schedule a time to meet Captain America at Production Courtyard.

In addition to using Lineberty to virtually wait in line for character Meet and Greets, Walt Disney Studios Park is also testing this app at Restaurant En Coulisse.  Beginning on June 7th and running though August 31st, two cash registers will be set up for reservations only from 11:45am until 3:00pm.  Cash registers that are reservation only will have that noted at the beginning of the line.  Guests with out reservations will be able to wait in line and access other cash registers.

So here’s what you need to know!

  • To use this service, guests will need to download the Lineberty app on their smartphone or other mobile device.
  • Lineberty is available for Android and iOS systems.
  • Guests will select the character Meet and Greet they’d like to do and will make an online reservation that puts them in a “queue” where they are given an estimated wait time.  That wait time is updated in real time.
  • While they are waiting, guests can visit other attractions, entertainment and character appearances at Walt Disney Studios Park.
  • A text message or alert from the Lineberty app will be sent to the guest when it is their turn and they can return to the Meet and Greet and bypass the line!

This sounds like an interesting way to schedule Meet and Greets with characters. If you frequently visit Disneyland Paris are you excited about the testing of this app?  If you’ve never been to Disneyland Paris would you like to seem something like this pop up in other Disney parks?!

Canada’s Blueberry Grass Band Arrives in Epcot This Month

Blueberry Grass Band

Blueberry Grass Band

One of my favorite things about visiting Epcot and the World Showcase is all the authentic entertainment. (Along with the food and drinks!) With that being said, I am excited to announce new entertainment coming to the Canada Pavilion on June 13 – the Blueberry Grass Band!

The Blueberry Grass Band is an accomplished band hailing from Quebec who are known for transforming French and English Canadian hits into their own sound. The band takes its name from the nickname people from where they are from, Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean, are knowns as – blueberries! The use of this nickname shows the bands silly personality when they perform as well! Every show Blueberry Grass Band puts on features upbeat tunes and clearly cheerful rapport between the performers.

Each member of the Blueberry Grass Band comes from a different musical background resulting in a group that uses a variety of instruments – string bass, guitar, violin, drums, banjo and of course, voice! They have performed in various countries around the world as well as“Britain’s Got Talent” and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”

The Blueberry Grass Band takes the stage from June 13 to August 26 at the Mill Stage in the Canada Pavilion at Epcot.
