Avengers: Infinity War has held on to the top spot in the box office for the past 3 weeks. Well, Infinity War has officially been dethroned. Deadpool 2 Takes Number One Spot in the Box Office! The delivered a box office smash raking in $125 million its opening weekend. And that’s just with ticket sales from 4,349 theaters in the U.S. and Canada. Also making it the second highest debut ever for an R-rated movie. We just love that foul mouth of his.
Even though Deadpool 2 Takes Number One Spot in the Box Office, the sequel will just fall short of the industry projections. They had their sights set on the $130 million to $150 million range. The original Deadpool, which bowed with $132.4 million in February 2016. It’s projected that the sequel will add about $176.3 million this weekend, for a worldwide total of about $301.3 million.
Deadpool 2 will feature Deadpool, played by the returning star Ryan Reynolds. Ryan Reynolds will play Deadpool as he forms the X-Force to protect a young mutant from Cable, a time-traveling soldier.
