House of Blues at Disney Springs to Offer Mardi Gras Menu Throughout February

Fat Tuesday may be just around the corner (February 13) but visitors to the House of Blues throughout the month of February are able to tuck into some classic dishes from the Big Easy in celebration of Mardi Gras. Highlights include Shrimp and Crawfish Etouffee, Veggie Muffaletta, Jambalaya and the restaurant’s famous Bourbon Bread pudding.

Other Mardi Gras inspired treats at House of Blues this month include two special cocktails. The Bourbon Street Mule which features Southern Comfort 80 proof, lemon, bitters and ginger beer served in a souvenir cup and the Smashed in the Quarter which also features 80 proof SoCo as well as lime, blackberries and mint.

One of our favorite past times here at Chip and Co. is uncovering the never-ending array of new and incredible treats that can be found across Disneyland Resort. Today we give you these delicious Cheshire Cat Tails which can be found at Candy Palace on Main Street.

What We Know About the Upcoming “Solo: A Star Wars Story” Movie

While fans had to say goodbye to Han Solo in “The Force Awakens,” a younger version of this galactic smuggler is coming back to the big screen. Here is what we know about the upcoming “Solo: A Star Wars Story” movie that is set to hit theaters in May!

Stepping into the role of Han Solo, originated by Harrison Ford, is Alden Ehrenreich.
This story takes place several years before the events of the original “Star Wars,” which was filmed in 1977.
The film is described as Western meets film noir. It’s full of offbeat humor and takes us into the criminal underbelly of a galaxy being torn apart. Described by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy as “a heist, gunslinger type movie” we can’t wait to see how the action unfolds.
To prove himself a true hoodlum, Han has to steal something (and we still don’t know what) from The Conveyex, which is the rollercoaster-like train seen in the trailer.
We will see how the friendship between Han and Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) came to be. Also along the way we will see Han fall for Qi’ra (Emilia Clarke) and cross paths with both Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover) and his droid sidekick L3-37 (played via motion capture by Phoebe Waller-Bridge).
We get a look at the galaxy’s criminal underbelly when Han faces career crooks Tobias Beckett (Woody Harrelson) and Val (Thandie Newton) and crime boss, Dryden Vos (Paul Bettany).

“Solo: A Star Wars Story” hits theaters May 25th and we can’t wait!

If you’re lucky enough to be at Epcot on February 16th, be sure to stop by the China Pavilion where Disney’s amazing PhotoPass photographers will be offering special photo opportunities in celebration of Lunar New Year.

These special photo ops include a snap with a beautiful glowing lotus (seen above) which will be available from 7-9pm.

Epcot Lunar New Year

Froom noon through 9pm a PhotoPass photographer will also add special Lunar New Year-themed boarders to your photos and will have a series of props to help you ring in the Year of the Dog.

These Loaded Tots at Disneyland are ‘Tot’ally Delicious!

Last week, we reported on some pretty amazing loaded tots located in the Magic Kingdom at Disney World. Today, we are happy to share some more delicious loaded tots with our West Coast friends. Introducing: Loaded Tots from River Belle Terrace!

Keep in mind you won’t find these loaded tots listed on the menu as they are on River Belle’s Terrace’s “secret menu.” That means that you will have to ask them to create them especially for you! They consist of tots covered with pork belly, corn, pimento cheese dip, and BBQ sauce. Yum!

Currently craving ? SECRET MENU Loaded Tots from River Belle Terrace! We recently (finally) tried these and UGH, they’re so good. We asked for the loaded tater tots with beef brisket, but they didn’t have, so their alternative was pork belly pieces, corn, pimento cheese dip and BBQ sauce (delicious). You can also ask for the loaded buffalo tater tots which come topped with pimento cheese dip, Frank’s red sauce, gorgonzola cheese crumbles, celery leaves, and pickled onions. ? River Belle Terrace is an awesome table service restaurant in Frontierland that requires reservation (walk-ups usually welcome if they have room). ••• ALSO, if you’ve never heard of some of the secret menu items around the parks, head to mkmamas.com and search for the “Foods of Disneyland” post – scroll toward the bottom of the page to find the secret menu items list – trust us, it’s worth reading! #mkmfood #eatlikewalt

In addition to these “BBQ loaded tots,” you can also ask for the Buffalo loaded tots. The Buffalo loaded tots consist of tots smothered in pimento cheese dip, Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, Gorgonzola cheese, celery, and pickled onions. Delicious!

River Belle Terrace is located in Frontierland at Disneyland Park.

On February 4th a special event was held at the US Coast Guard Air Station Miami by the Disney crew members from the Disney Magic cruise ship and Blue Star Families. During this event called “Books on Bases,” the Disney crew members shared their love of reading with more than 300 military families.

The “Books on Bases” event is to help encourage reading and provide free books to children of those who serve our country.

Children browse through tables of books and they each can pick out 5 to take home with them. They also receive a Disney plush and a geet a meet and greet with Mickey Mouse as well!

The Voices behind "Happily Ever After"

The fireworks spectacular, “Happily Ever After,” has been delighting Magic Kingdom guests for almost a year now. The title song to the show, performed by Jordan Fisher and Angie Keilhauer, is a captivating fan favorite. Let’s learn more about one of the voices behind “Happily Ever After.”

While Jordan Fisher is pretty well know – and more so now after his Dancing with the Stars win – Angie Keilhauer was a relative newcomer. Angie, who was born and raised in El Salvador, has said that being a part of “Happily Ever After” has been a dream come true for her. As a child she loved the fireworks shows at Disney World. Angie says that being able to be a part of that experience for current guests is priceless.
