Liberty Belle to Set Sail Again

The Liberty Belle at the Magic Kingdom has been out of commission for awhile, and the river has looked pretty sad without her. She has been sitting in dry dock for most of the year getting a complete overhaul. While she is not yet ready to take on passengers, the Liberty Belle is ready to set sail again because she is back on the water!

The new and improved Liberty Belle features a brand new smokestack for her steam engine that turns the paddles that make the boat move forward on her journey. The 47-foot tall Liberty Belle features four decks (that’s floors for you landlubbers). These include the Pilothouse, which is the uppermost deck where the wheelhouse and Captain’s Quarters are located. The third deck is the Promenade Deck where there is a collection of vintage photographs and maps on display for guests to view. The Texas Deck, also known as the Sun Deck, is the second deck and open to the Florida sunshine. The bottom deck is the Main Deck and includes the boiler and pistons that run the paddle wheel. There is seating located on all four decks.

If you have never taken a cruise on the Liberty Belle, you are probably wondering why guests would want to go for a ride. The journey on the Liberty Belle is seventeen minutes long and features some unique views of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, and The Haunted Mansion. Guests can also get a view of Harper’s Mill, Fort Langhorn, and Wilson’s Cave Inn on Tom Sawyer Island. To add to the journey, there are also scenes set up along the riverbank so guests can see woodland animals, an example of an early American settlement, and a Native American settlement. The Liberty Belle does not yet have a reopening date, but it sure is nice to see her back on the water!

Santa Clause is Coming To Disney Junior!

A special Christmas special is airing this weekend featuring Doc McStuffins and the gang! Disney announced that it will be airing special holiday-themed episodes of a number of shows on Disney Junior! Such episodes are those like the Muppet Babies and Duck Tales. The most anticipated show, however, is the Doc McStuffins episode in which the gang travels back in time to the North Pole to save Christmas.

Doc McStuffins, which is a Peabody Award-winning show, has long been Favorited by parents. The show is best known for featuring diversity and a female doctor. However, the show is also popular for airing episodes that touch base on sensitive topics such as adoption, childbirth, and same-sex couples. All episodes, however, are presented in a digestible, age-appropriate manner for children of all ages.

For this holiday-themed special, the “Doc McStuffins Christmas Special” will be featuring more pure holiday fun rather than a more involved topic.

Follow along as Doc, Lamby, Stuffy, Hallie, and the rest of the gang, along with a help from a special friend, try and save Christmas!

So put on your P.J.’s, grab a snugly blanket, and your popcorn in your favorite souvenir bucket from the parks. Then grab a seat on a comfy chair or couch and watch this special holiday-themed episode this Sunday, December 2 at 7.pm, local time, on Disney Junior!

New Holiday Photopass Options in the Magic Kingdom

Disney Photopass has unveiled a few new holiday options and magic shots in the Magic Kingdom!

The Disney Photopass is a photography service available to all visiting WDW. Photopass photographers are conveniently placed at iconic locations throughout the parks and are willing and ready to capture a new memory. These photos are easily accessible on the My Disney Experience mobile app where you can create and customize gifts and accessories with your photos to make keepsakes for friends and family.

The Disney Photopass service also offers a fun and creative option called the Magic Shot. Magic Shots add Disney characters and other fun items to your photo that only appear after the photo is taken. From putting Remy in the palm of your hand to seeing Figment flying above your head, the Magic Shot is Disney magic at its finest!

Disney Photopass has debuted a few photo options and Magic Shots themed after the jolly holiday season!

Guests visiting the Magic Kingdom this winter can light their way with Tinkerbell flying about in a golden lantern near Cinderella’s Castle. This is an especially beautiful photo at night with the frozen castle lights illuminating the surroundings.

Guests can also experience a Magic Shot on Main Street, U.S.A when toy soldiers march through their photo!

Lastly, you might even have a surprise encounter with a gingerbread man and one of Santa’s reindeer if you get your picture taken near the entrance of the Magic Kingdom.

Disneyland Galaxy’s Edge Progress

We here at Chip & Co. are pretty excited about the opening of Galaxy’s Edge coming to Disneyland and Walt Disney World next year. Star Wars fans all over the world are waiting to visit their favorite galaxy far, far away. We’ve already shared the exciting news about the new attractions and the new music that is coming with these new lands. Today, we have some photos. James Taylor Baker, also known as Heliguy on Instagram, got some overhead shots of the progress in Anaheim.

From what we can see in his photos, Galaxy’s Edge is going to take up a pretty big chunk of Disneyland property. He also zoomed in on everyone’s favorite Star Wars ship, the Millennium Falcon. There are some high rise buildings that have gone up and are waiting for their new exteriors. From the wide shots, we can see that some of the rock formations are complete, but not all of them. The Millennium Falcon looks to be a centerpiece for this new area, and I really like that you will be able to see it from the outside. This will be a great photo opportunity and, hopefully, we’ll spot some Photopass photographers over there.

In addition to a pretty awesome sounding experience going on in the Millennium Falcon (who doesn’t want to try to fly it?!) there are a few other fun things coming, as well. The Black Spire Outpost will feature some shopping from street vendors, and Oga’s Cantina will be serving blue milk. Also, for the first time in Disneyland, alcoholic beverages will be available in Oga’s Cantina, as well. Keep your eyes open for RX-24, your original Star Tours pilot, because he has made a career change and will now be appearing in Oga’s Cantina as the DJ.

“Mira, Royal Detective,” Inspired by the Culture of India, to Join Disney Junior Lineup

A new heroine is heading to the Disney Junior lineup. Mira, Royal Detective, an animated mystery-adventure series for preschoolers is coming to Disney Junior channels and programming blocks around the world in 2020. Set in the magical Indian-inspired land of Jalpur, the series follows the brave and resourceful Mira, a commoner who is appointed to the role of royal detective after solving a mystery that involves saving the kingdom’s young prince. The role of Mira will be voiced by 15-year-old newcomer Leela Ladnier. The announcement was made today by Joe D’Ambrosia, senior vice president, Original Programming, Disney Junior.

D’Ambrosia said, “We are eager to introduce kids and their families to the rich, diverse cultures and customs of India through Mira, a young girl who looks at things with her own unique lens to gain different perspectives and help others in her community. We hope that she will encourage our audience to actively engage with the inspiring world around them and appreciate the little details that make life extraordinary.”

As royal detective, Mira travels throughout the kingdom helping royals and commoners alike. Along with her friend Prince Neel, a talented inventor, creative cousin Priya, and comical mongoose sidekicks Mikku and Chikku, she will stop at nothing to solve a case, taking young viewers on adventures that highlight critical thinking and encourage deductive reasoning. Rooted in India’s vibrant heritage, each episode will weave authentic music, dance and customs into two 11-minutes stories.

In addition to Ladnier, the Mira, Royal Detective voice cast includes Freida Pinto as Queen Shanti, Hannah Simone as a young commoner named Pinky, Jameela Jamil as Mira’s Auntie Pushpa, Kal Penn, and Utkarsh Ambudkar as mongooses Mikku and Chikku, respectively.

Emmy Award-nominated Sascha Paladino is executive producer of the series, which was developed by Becca Topol. Sue Perotto and Dorothea Schoentag are supervising director and art director, respectively. IW Group’s Shagorika Ghosh is the series’ cultural consultant. Additional consultants include Bollywood dancer and choreographer Nakul Dev Mahajan and music producer Deepak Ramapriyan. Emmy Award nominees Matthew Tishler and Jeannie Lurie will write and produce original songs, and Amritha Vaz will serve as composer. The series is produced by Wild Canary in association with Disney Junior.

Disney and Google Expand Strategic Relationship – What does this mean for busy people in a busy world? We have the ability to connect to family and friends and our favorite sitcom everywhere. And, we are more selective with our viewing. Our streaming services allow us to bypass this interruption entirely now. How are companies planning to get around the fast-forward obstacle?

Enter the partnership. Two powerhouses of media, Walt Disney Company and Google have teamed up. Heres what Philipp Schindler, Cheif Business Officer has to say about the partnership on November 27, 2018;
