New Permits Show Size of Star Wars Hotel and More

Star Wars Hotel

Star Wars Hotel

We are excited to share new details on the much-anticipated Star Wars Hotel coming to Walt Disney World! Per permits filed by Disney, we are learning the approximate size of the hotel and how it will be connected to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The first image below gives us a sense of what the footprint of the Star Wars Hotel will be. As we thought, the hotel will not be that large. It looks to be a basic shape and there also looks like there will be a pool directly on the property.

Star Wars Hotel

Are you already planning on driving to the new Star Wars Hotel? While not confirmed, it looks like the entrance to the new hotel will be accessible through the Hollywood Studios parking lot.

As also previously reported, it does appear that there will be a special VIP entrance from the hotel to Hollywood Studios and, of course, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Star Wars Hotel

At this time, no official opening date has been announced for the Star Wars Hotel. We have reported that land has been cleared and construction has begun. It should be ready for guests in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary year in 2021 if not sooner.

VIDEO: The Slinky Dog Dash Instruction Manual Shows Riders The Rules

VIDEO: The Slinky Dog Dash Instruction Manual Shows Riders The Rules

Toy Story Land celebrated it’s grand opening on Saturday, June 30th. Guests of all ages were lined up very early that morning to get in. Wait times for the new rides, Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers as well as Toy Story Mania sky rocketed. However, as we all know, Disney does it’s best to make the queues enjoyable. While waiting in line for the Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster, guests can watch a fun instruction manual!

The video lets guests know that basic rules and safety instruction for taking a ride with Slinky Dog. Keeping with the theme of Toy Story Land where guests are considered ‘toys’, those toys under 7 must be accompanied by age appropriate ones, all accessories must be properly stored and lap bars must be secured.

FastPasses for all three rides at Toy Story Land are becoming golden as stand-by wait times were well over 4 hours on Saturday. Be sure to grab one for your upcoming trip to Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort!

Mickey Ice Cream Ears Now Available At Walt Disney World

Mickey Ice Cream Ears

The deliciously cute Mickey Ice Cream Ears are now available at Walt Disney World! These gorgeous ears with a clever twist were debuted at Disneyland last month, and are now available on both coasts. These are a fabulous summer accessory for Disney, because who wouldn’t want a calorie free Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar?

Mickey Ice Cream Ears Now Available At Walt Disney World

It’s safe to say these ice cream inspired ears have melted our hearts! They retail for $24.99 and are currently available at the World of Disney Store in Disney Springs. The chocolate brown sequin ears even have a “bite” taken out of one, revealing sparkling vanilla ice cream. The pink glittering bow contrasts perfectly with the chocolate ears for a cool twist on a classic accessory.

The Mickey Ice Cream Ears have joined the ongoing collection of on trend Minnie Ears styles that the Disney Parks have been releasing. The new style trend ears kicked off with the sensational Rose Gold Minnie Ears last summer. Since then we’ve seen the incredible designs of the Millennial Pink Ears, The Retro Blue Ears, Rainbow Ears, and many more! The Iridescent Minnie Mouse Ears will also make their debut this summer too.

Will you be scooping up a pair of the new Mickey Ice Cream Ears on your next trip to the Disney Parks?

Special Thanks for our friend Mary M. for the pictures!

Celebrate The 4th Of July With An Apple Pie Cupcake

Celebrate The 4th Of July With An Apple Pie Cupcake

4th of July treats are popping up all over the Walt Disney World Resort this week. Take a look at this amazing piece of Americana found at The Market at Ale & Compass inside Disney’s Yacht Club. It’s apple pie and a cupcake all rolled into one! Filled with cinnamon cream cheese, apple pie filling and topped with vanilla buttercream, this cupcake takes it to a whole new level. It comes complete with red, white and blue star sprinkles and an American flag Mickey head.

Do you have plans to celebrate the 4th of July at Walt Disney World?

You can catch Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky! at Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom. There will also be two great dance parties, one in Frontierland and the other in Tomorrowland.

Epcot will also celebrate Independence Day by featuring a new side of IllumiNations: Reflections Of Earth.
