Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures Brings Epic Film Moments To Young Fans

That can only mean one thing…Star Wars news!

Star Wars is literally everywhere, and for good reason! We love Jedis, droids, and Sith Lords…who doesn’t? But for those smaller padawan learners, there’s something new and exciting coming. If you’ve tried tirelessly to get your son or daughter into a galaxy far far away, this one should help!

A new animated shorts series is coming to YouTube. Starting on November 30, “Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures” will debut not only on the livestreaming app, but also StarWarsKids.com. Familiar characers will get a new look combined with origianl sound effects, music, and dialogue.

James Waugh, Lucasfilm’s vice president for franchise content and strategy had this to say,  “With Galaxy of Adventures, we wanted to craft something that allowed parents to help their kids take their first step into a much larger world whether they were ready to show their kids the films or wanted to find new ways to explore the content.”

So what’s the content? Waugh and others who worked on the project wanted to create a fun and educational way for parents to initiate their children into the original Star Wars films. These shorts do just that. By offering simple, short stories recreating some of the epic and most memorable moments from Star Wars films, younger audiences can be introduced through “micro experiences”

Personally, I think this is an exceptional idea. Kids love the new Star Wars flicks, but (in my experience) there’s not much admiration for the originals as they are a bit dated. This is a great way to revamp them and offer something new to younger fans, and nostalgia to fans who’ve been there since the beginning.

Waugh went on to say, “Over the years, I’ve had so many of my friends who are parents tell me how much they wanted to introduce their kids to Star Wars but didn’t feel that their kids were quite ready for the movies yet. They wanted a way to celebrate the universe they love.”

In addition to small, micro-units of information…content will include guides, fun facts, and much more. As Star Wars seems to become bigger and bigger, as well as more accessible to audiences of all ages, this new step is sure to be a great one. Kicking off a year long celebration of Star Wars storytelling, these shorts are a great way to dive deeper into the culture behind the films. All culminating with the release of the Star Wars: Epidose IX in late 2019.

Be sure to check it out as the content becomes avaialble tomorrow. Until then, here’s a sneak peek at what you and your younglings can expect from Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures:
